My go to spot for the latest issues. Worth it.This has become my go to spot for the latest issues. I usually go to get daredevil yet, they always have the latest issues of spawn, DC Batman, marvel iron man and so much more. They also hold the latest selection of uncommon back issues like Mother of madness or over the garden wall and so much more. The latest issues are always in order and on the side of the wall. Organized pretty well for the enormous selection they got, especially once you understand the layout. They also have Funko pops, other toys, Omni, trades and older issues (located at the back end, not a large selection)In reality I would give 4.8 stars. The middle layout is confusing on how the books are organized, it seems a little all over the place. Also the light in the back always seems to be flicking making it nauseous to check older issues.Yet these are minor issues. The store owner is very nice and helpful, especially if the layout is confusing you and you forget to count your abc’s.Overall worth my time and my top 3 places to go for comics.
This is a small store in a suburban shopping complex. Its in the southern part of the complex, so make sure you keep driving down the hill after you turn off West Bowles Avenue. Youll go down West Burgundy Avenue, past Car Toys. Keep going and then turn right. There it is!Inside, youll find multiple copies of new and near-new issues on the two long display racks. Its an expansive display. These primary racks bookend the store, with everything else in between - all the books and toys, that is. There is a very strong selection of trade paperbacks (with some, but not many, hardcovers). Some toys, some variants, some older collectible comics, a selection of cut-rate, dirt-cheap comics, too. Its a small operation in a small space, so theres not a lot of choices... but the stock is well-curated.There is a second room in the back - at first I thought it was just storage, not for customers, but then I realized it was the stores back issues section. This room has metal shelves with the long boxes for used comics, a mix of mostly modern and Bronze Age issues. The space is a bit tight, but I found a few good issues in these boxes.Theres a small display of all-ages comics for kids, and no overly sexual or bloodily violent posters on display, so it seems that smaller, younger readers would feel comfortable visiting this store. The owner/manager was friendly and helpful when I visited.A nice store. To use a metaphor from both sports and comics, its small but packs a punch!
Great location to get your favorite comics and very friendly staff. I highly recommend them!.
Great store. The owner took a lot of time with me trying to find the perfect comic book issues that I’d enjoy. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
If you didnt know it was there you would probably miss it. A nice hole in the wall comic shop. Owner is pretty nice and always willing to talk comics.
Lots of new release issues and graphic novels which is exactly what I was in the market for today. I was able to find newer releases from a few months back that have been off of the shelves at other places for weeks now.
All back issues min. $4
Tried to buy more than one issue of the same book but was not allowed to. Was told regulars were more important and thats where this stock was going to. Could you imagine walking into a restaurant or a bar and ordering something and them telling you no we only have enough for a regulars? Pathetic
Very secret🤫 and alot of gems
Always some great finds, and the owner is tops on comic book knowledge and finding the rare gems if you so desire. The fact that each new book comes with a bag and board (not all shops do this) is a terrific bonus. Plus hes got magazine-size bags/boards as well for all the DC Black Label stuff! Great shop!
Great place, had the issues I needed
Will never come here again! No masks on have safety for others!
The gentleman at the counter was super nice and informative. My son found cool comics to start his collection and they even threw in temp tattoos and a mini fig of hulk! Would highly recommend 5280 Comics due to their family friendliness and great prices and service. Thanks again 5280 for making my sons 4th BDay so special!!
Ive always enjoyed this store. I hope the owners will consider wearing masks out of concern for their customers. Maybe Ill come back next year after they pandemic is over.
Large selection, up to date books great varients, excellent owner with all the up to date info you need. 1-10 Ill have to give 5280 a big fat 8. Well none of us are perfect. Or so they say, will leave a little room for improvement.Come on in guys & gals youll love it. Great atmosphere and big selection. Thanks for everything J.D.
Response from the owner16 hours agoMistakes happen and I apologized. We thought we were shorted on the books and had to pull them for our hold slots. As a business owner, I have to take care of my customers first.I was in your store yesterday too. You dont take care of your customers. You take care of your regulars. We were CUSTOMERS in your store trying to buy comics and you denied us. You said you made a mistake but thats not the story you told us. We came a long ways from downtown Denver and found the exact comics we wanted only to be told they were not for sale. Terrible customer service. Will not be coming back.
Id rate this as the second (maybe third) best comic store in the greater Denver area. A decent selection of back issues, especially older silver age stuff...rare to see nowadays. They have a smattering of keys, and tolerable (but not low) prices for much of their stuff. Pretty accurate grading as well. A small store, but definitely worth the visit.
Image Comics found here. Guy is a little stuck in his own beliefs but good enough guy, I guess
Place is small but packed with fun things. People are great. Older comics. Great selection and overall fun place!!
I wish more store owners were as nice as the guy that runs this place. He has a great selection of new and back stock, and turned me onto some great titles too. Being a new shop, not to many people know this place yet but I think word will spread. Ill continue showing my support for sure.
Went in to check up on some back issue I was looking for. Really didnt get much help or asked if I needed help in that matter but I wasnt really complaining about it. Found not really what I was looking for but still got at least something. I asked the owner if he new where to find older issues of a certain comic and he replied kinda rudely... Store is small but if your looking for Indies and new they do have a nice selection.
Small store but packed with cool stuff. Layout easy to navigate and fair prices on everything. Came in yesterday for the first time. A lot of people had late shipments yesterday and the guy working the counter was busting his butt trying to get everyones pulls sorted. Asked me what I was in for and then took the time to pull the covers I requested on the spot. Great service, super professional, appreciate good LCSs like this still around.
I had to find a new place to buy comics when Tradesmart shut down, and I was ecstatic when I found 5280 Comics just down the road a ways. The selection is awesome, and if he doesnt have what you are looking for all you have to do is put $20 down for him to hold the comics and he will always make sure you get a copy of what you want. Plus the fact that every comic comes with bag and board is just the perfect cherry on top. I love this comic store.
Great selection, just not a good location. Its located on the back side of a shopping center so it is particularly hard to find the first time you go there. The store itself is too small for the inventory as well. They DO have a great selection, though, and the owner is a very cool guy.
Great shop! Excellent selection and lots of interesting stuff. Will be back whenever Im in Denver
Great selection, and Sang is VERY knowledgeable! Love this store!
Sang is good dude. And his shop is a great place for modern comic and some old ones too. Great convos to be had if you hang out long enough.
The owner is friendly and very knowledgeable. This is a hidden gem for those who dont know about it. I would highly recommend that you make this your comic destination.
Great store!
I checked this place out hoping to support a smaller comic book shop but was very disappointed. Walked in wasn’t ever greeted or really acknowledged and I decided just to buy my couple of comics and leave when some guy not sure if he worked there or not held the door open and started smoking letting all his smoke come inside I don’t wanna buy comics that have been exposed to cigarette smoke and will not be going back.
Awesome owner and a nice place to talk and buy comics! I got exactly what I was looking for and was able to order anything that he didnt have. I really hope that he does well because 5280 is my new place for comics.
On the website said it was opened from 12 to 6. I drove 45 min to get there and there was a bunch of opened sights but the place was closed and the door was locked. Recommend never to go here.
I discovered this place today, and was very happy I did! They had the back issues I was looking for and were very willing to help with my questions! Ill definitely be back!
I loved how authentic the comic book store looked as well the customer service was above and beyond as well he was very helpful
Great customer service and huge selection.
Sang was awesome. Huge selection of items to choose from and not over priced like other stores in the area
A really nice shop with friendly staff. Prefer this shop over most all of the shops around.
Called and the gut was totally rude. He didnt even want to check if he had the right comic before I drove over. But I finally got him to get up and check. He had em and I Said I was coming to buy them. And he closed early. After I drove 15 miles to get here.
Looks like a good store. Went by on a friday and sign said open. Unfortunately another sign on door said be back later in 2hrs .im a busy guy ill try to get back over that way one day and give a full update.
Awful customer service! Went to buy 2 comics then he tells me we cant buy them because he didnt know they were on the shelf. Dont go here
Great Selection!
Looking for a small local comic shop? Then this is the place for you a friendl owner and nice selection of comics. And if you are ever there on free comic book day he goes the extra step.
Great store
What a great place and outstanding customer service.
Very cramped, a little disorganized, owner/employee not interested in engaging in conversation, prices a little above average.
Cool shop. Dense selection. Great prices.
This shop has a great selection of new comics and back issues and the owner is really friendly.
Nice and tidy shop, and close to a school. The proprietor has been a bit distracted at times, but I have never needed assistance and not gotten it.
Awesome little shop, and some of the nicest people Ive met funny book shopping.
Resident expert, nice selection, low key vibe, fair prices.
I get my comics from here and I love the selections and customer service is great 5/5
Great selection! Wish there was more room!
Its funzny reading the reviews few people have anything bad to say. Which leads me to believe the majority of those reviews are regular customers whom the owner is friends with. I will admit the first day I visited the place I loved it but after a few more visits I realized if you arent familiar with comics or are just starting your collection this isnt the place for you. For a few reasons one being dont ask too many question or the owner might start talking to you with a condescending tone. The first time I thought maybe I caught him on a bad day but everytime I go in there now hes very rude. Yeah hes very knowledgeable but hes only willing to share with the people that he likes aka his regulars regardless of the fact everytime Ive been in there Ive spent at least $50. For being a small business youd think youd value customers more. Also the orgininization of the place isnt well thought out lets put new releases up on the wall and make you go find them He could simply put a new release tab behind the new releases so were not playing wheres Waldo with our comcs. Then theres the other guy who works there who likes to man handel the comics so if you wanna keep them in nice shape avoid buying from him. Then last but not least the last time I visited I asked about 2 comics which he said were not coming out this week well I asked him to set one aside for me just in case it did well when I came back the next day both of the comics I had asked about were released and there was only 1 copy left of the one issue which needless to say I didnt appreciate at all so Ive been driving 50 minutes to Arvada for my comics now.
Been at this location a few times but Went Here a couple days ago to try and sell some comics though he didnt end up buying any he was very friendly and explained very well why he couldnt buy the comics . I also saw some really good stuff in here will definitely drive the 30 min to spend my hard earned cash here ! This is definitely the 2nd best comic shop in Colorado
Owner is friendly. Good selection. Fair pricing.
Great prices and great selection!
Awesome back stock enjoyed talking to the owner
Great selection of comics!
Small local comic book shop. Gotta love it!
My go-to comic book shop in the Denver area. Great selection, owner is super friendly and helpful.
Theres So Much Awesome stuff!
Just wrong information I received and bought comics that were extremely overpriced.
Pleasant comic experience
