Holy cow, what a wonderful place they got and the prices are just rightI went in hoping to find some daredevil and Elektra. While they only have select hero’s and back issues we, my friend included, were able to find a lot of spawn and older invincible comics missing from our back issue collection.I enjoyed being able to look around and browse through the selection. They had newer trades and are keeping up with the latest releases of comics.Everything is well organized and the guy at the register was wonderful and helpful to us.It’s small but it may just have what you’re missing in your series and it’s 100% worth checking it out!
So, this is one of the better comic stores that I’ve visited. I would say it is definitely small, but with artiste and authors that most would find entertaining. And not to mention the beautiful quality of the books themselves. Great service as well, I was pretty impressed.
This is a small shop, a one- or two-man operation, clearly the proud business of someone who lives and breathes comics. It’s too distant for me to visit regularly, but I wish it wasn’t. This store boasts an interesting and eclectic selection, with Silver Age comics sharing shelf space with undergrounds and small-press selections, not to mention extinct Silver Age publishers such as Dell, Charlton, Harvey, Gold Key. The comics seem to be treated not as merchandise, but as artifacts, which is the way it should be done… but often isn’t.The old comics are all annotated and priced, which is helpful. The range and depth of offerings is surprisingly rich for a smaller store. I was particularly impressed by the presence of genres that you don’t see that often in shops. There were cowboy comics, sports comics, kid comics, and TV tie-ins (but we’re talking old TV shows, here). The new comics and books seem to be thoughtfully curated. “Curated” – that’s another term, like “artifacts,” from the world of the finer arts. I’m using these words purposefully. This store’s approach, I think, clearly merits such language. If lived closer, I’d visit it regularly. Heck, I’m going to visit it again, anyway, even though it’s far away. That’s how good a store this is.
Great selection. Not the greatest prices.
I love this place! They always have my favorite graphic novels available, and if they dont, they waste no time getting it inGreat staff!
Super kind staff and very organized. So glad we found d this gem!
The guy in the shop wasnt very friendly, we only got a Hi upon arrival and then ignored until checkout. If youre looking for good prices, dont go here. Brand-new prices for well used comics. If theyre wrapped, its going to be sub par. The only reason its 3 stars is because it has decent organization if youre not looking for anything that starts with a number. (i.e. 30 days of night etc)
(Edit: Way to act professional in your response. Remember folks, this is a business and this is the way this person responds to criticism.)The young man running the store seemed uninterested in greeting me as I entered the store, and not once asked if he could assist me in finding anything.Upon viewing the back issues, I found the prices were incredibly high for some of the issues, charging $11 for a RI that cost $4 max at another local shop.Along with that, it would be nice to see them wrapped and in a way that actually protects them.Ive read reviews stating this is a quaint, one or 2 man operation run by someone who loves comic books. There is another local shop which is literally run by ONE man and it has every single item wrapped for the preservation of your hobby, and has some of the best pricing around. This shop seems more interested in money than anything else.
If youre not a regular. I wouldnt bother
Solid little shop with an extensive collection and friendly service.
Based off of other visits at different comic book stores Id have to say that the people that work here are definitely better than many others. Very kind, respectable and helpful. If I lived closer to this location it would most definitely be my main spot. Highly recommend giving these men your business.
New comic Wednesday is always a good day.
This is a small, but mighty comic bookstore. Pricing is marked a little higher than Overstreet. They have great selection from Bronze to Modern. I visit them regularly, it’s important to support your local store 😉
Great selection of games and the staff are friendly and helpful. Really enjoy this place!
This small, locally owned comic book shop is the friendliest comic book store in the area. Ive read comics on-and-off my entire life, but I was out of the loop for a few years. I shopped around the area, hitting up each store I found on Google Maps. By far this was the best place. Each time since Ive been given great recommended reading and if something is not in stock, it magically appears the next time Im there.
Pros:1. The person who was at the store this morning was very helpful and friendly.2. Hard very nice good and pretty sure all books were marked with prices and the stores opinion on grade. Which to me is very helpful.3. Hard supply’s to buy which is nice when you need more storage boxes etc.4. Books were very very organized!!Cons:1. For me could use a little more of what I collect, but that is really a personal con. Most people collect Spiderman, X-Men, FF...which they have a ton! So not really a con store wise but a personal con.2. Very pricey (example: Spawn #1 is marked at $70. Spawn #4 is marked at $40). These books do not cost that much. Another example, ASM 298 RAW was marked at $92 but given a grade of 4-5. Which is high when you can buy a current CGC 7.5 at $53 and FREE shipping on eBay).
Was there with a friend in March after seeing a Video Games Live show. They had an excellent selection. Definitely going back when Im in the area.
Decent selection of books. Was with my friend and her family (2 well behaved teenagers) when I stopped in for new comic day. One other customer in the store at the time we arrived. Got a head nod from employee working the counter, then was ignored for the remainder of the 30 minutes spent there. Other customer was obviously a regular as they were going through a pull list, but even at checkout I stood waiting while the guy debated between two copies of a new book (condition check). No, sorry be right with you or even an acknowledgement I was standing there. Ended up spending about $60, but almost just dropped the stack at the counter when it became clear my business as a non regular was not important. Im still on the hunt for a new regular haunt since I gave up Mile High, but this aint it.
Very organize. Easy to find what I was looking for. The clerk was extremely helpful.
A little small, but theres no lack in the quality comic selection here. Also, the staff is helpful, ready to answer any questions you have.
This place is everything a comic shop should be, its got a good selection of graphic novels, the owner knows his stuff, and most of all its a great place to come and talk geeky with people.
Stopped by for the first time today. Great little shop, everyone there was super friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back
Hours advertised as 11 am to 7 pm. Arrived at about 4:50 pm, store closed, sign on door said back around 5:30. No mention of emergency or indication of why store not open during its regular posted hours.
Owner is a really nice guy and very knowledgable and accommodating. Great at getting you a hard-to-find or out of stock issue, and their one of the few shops in the Denver metro area open past 7pm, making it a very convenient store for people who work later in the evening.
Nice selection of comics and they even get rare ones
Great little shop that can be a little difficult to find among the other stores. The proprietor has always been pleasant and helpful when Ive stopped in. A little crowded and a little disheveled, but I think thats the nature of comic shops and I dont mind.
Great small comic shop. Staff is incredibly knowledgeable to their industry, & they can order just about whatever you want, but the owner, Sean is kind of prick with a big chip on his shoulder almost every time I see him. I have a hold slot there with about 4-5 titles, but he makes it seem unimportant because He has people who get 50+ titles also, he seems to hold a grudge on the fact that I sometimes go to Mile High Comics to get back issues & titles that have sold out or didnt come in on time at Amazing Fantasy. The only saving grace is that they actually remeber you & the other store clerk, Duane is an awesome, conversative guy who happens to be working more often when I come in.
Excellent selection of current and older comics. The owner and his staff are very knowledgeable and friendly.
The staff is really helpful and knowledge. Very good experience for my first time at a comic book store
