Barry came through on short notice to quote our refinish/patch job. His company has an impressive portfolio of work, and this was one job I was not willing to take on during my remodel. The red oak floors in my 100 year old house were patched and stained Country White, and a water-based poly with additional white tint was applied. We went from dated, red/yellow flooring to a whitewashed look to match our contemporary kitchen/living room remodel.Short-term review: I haven’t been on the floors yet, but the new look is exactly what we desired.-The patches blend nicely.-The stain hid most of the red/pink hues.-Gaps and holes are filled using Duraseal’s trowel-able wood filler.-The crew was knowledgeable and friendly.Long-term review: N/A

Schmidt flooring worked hard to recreate a highly custom color after our floor sustained water damage. In spite of challenges they persisted until the correct appearance was achieved. We felt confident that they would do whatever was necessary to make us happy.

I would highly recommend this company!Schmidts recently refinished our hardwood floors and replaced all our carpet. The staff was very professional, courteous, and responsive.The hardwood looks better than it ever has. You would never know it wasnt brand new. The carpet installers worked tirelessly to finish the installation in one day, and they did an outstanding job working with the patterned carpet. Everything looks great and it was done on time and when promised.

Overall, I am happy with my experience with Schmidt Custom Flooring and I would use them again. The job was done on time and the quote was accurate with no surprises. Their customer service is great too. There was a defect in one of the planks that were installed. They had someone out the next day to replace it. They seemed to do a mediocre job of reinstalling the baseboards though. Some other things to be aware of (not necessarily bad just be aware) are that they don’t move appliances and they don’t reconnect toilets.

I had went through a very bad bathroom remodel with a previous tile setter (not Schmidt) and it needed completely re-done (down to the studs). I called Schmidt to get a quote for the redo. I knew it would be expensive on top of being out the money already wasted from the first job, but I needed the bathrooms done so I could start on the rest of the house remodel that was already planned (new floors, paint, etc). I called Schmidt and they scheduled time to come out, measure and see what they had to work with so they could quote the job. The man who came out was on time, polite and explained everything that would need done. I let him know I understood what would be involved and he did his thing and said hed have a quote out to me within a few days.After a week+, I hadnt heard back, so I called and left a message on Schmidts voicemail. After two more weeks of waiting for Schmidts quote, I went with the other company that came out to quote the job. Thank goodness I did because Schmidt never called back. I had lost at least two weeks waiting on Schmidt and if I had waited any longer, that would also have been wasted time.Im very pleased with the quality of work from the other company so it worked out well for me. You can look up my other reviews to see my review of them and pics of the finished product.Im sure Schmidts does good work, but potential customers need to be aware that if you dont hear back from them within the time frame they give when they are out measuring, it could be a lost cause to wait longer because you might not ever hear back, causing lost time.ETA: In response to the comment: Yes, it is the Schmidts in Loveland, CO that I had the experience with. Pearl Wolf is my google account, not my name. The appt was under my real name. I do not recall the name of the man who came out to measure but the appointment was on April 26, 2021 @ 11am in Windsor. When I called to check-in on the quote, I called the main business line and left a message. The voicemail had a female voice.

The guys were friendly, courteous, hard working and did a great job. The only negative is that they used 2 inch nails to put the baseboard back on and my panty had a pocket door. The nails were so long they put scratches on the door when opening and closing it.On 5/3/21 Schmidt sent out the guys to fix the door for me and you cant even tell it was scratched. Customer service at its finest since it took longer to drive to my house than it took to fix the door!

We hired Schmidt Custom Floors to install 1600 sf of 5-inch hickory throughout our house. To do this they removed existing engineered wood in the kitchen area and carpet everywhere else. All floor trim was carefully removed and reinstalled. The end result is truly exceptional and exceeded our expectations. Kevin, Dereck and Dalton completed this project on schedule in six days. They put in long days and cleaned up very thoroughly. Their attention to detail is amazing. This was the third time we have had hardwood installed in an existing home. Our experience with Schmidt’s was far and above the best. We could not be happier and we give Schmidt Custom Floors the highest possible recommendation.

We had our entire main level finished with wood floors. David was fantastic and very patient as we looked at every sample of wood they had to offer! And while there was an issue with the manufacturer (not the fault of Schmidts whatsoever) Barry worked hard to make it right and make sure we were happy with our floors. I had Schmidt replace a portion of, and refinish the remaining of my hardwood flooring, replace the floor in the laundry and replace our carpet in bedrooms and hallway. I made two separate appointments with two different estimators. Neither of them showed up. I obviously went with someone more reluable.

Quality service all around! Sanding was completely dust free and completed by hand in the corners. The three coat finish is perfect. It was done with as little disruption to our life as possible. We were able to get to the bedroom each night. Several days later a Schmidt manager visited to verify our satisfaction.

Schmidt did our hardwood floors and carpet and we couldn’t be happier with the final products! Barry is the absolute best and was very easy to work with and incredibly knowledgeable. They use very quality products and have high environmental standards. I was worried about VOCs, and they were very knowledgeable and respectful of my concerns/wishes and used the best products on the market. Henry worked hard to get us into the schedule on a tight timeline. Sean and his install crew were AMAZING. They were highly skilled, efficient, knowledgeable and patient working with/around our other contractors/painters. My only “complaint” was on the day our carpet was to be installed it was snowing so they charged an extra mileage/trip fee to go back to their warehouse to cut the carpet since they couldn’t do it outside-our other choice was to reschedule. This seemed a little odd considering it’s Colorado and weather is weather. But a mild inconvenience in an otherwise fantastic experience. We would definitely recommend and use Schmidt in the future!

Schmidt’s did a great job for us from beginning to end. They had knowledgeable and friendly installers.We had the challenge of asking them match flooring that was already installed. They did a great job, you can hardly tell the difference between the old and new.

Gave them a couple of stars for the estimator showing up on time and providing good information during the consultation. Unfortunately, after that apparently Jack got done with actually working up an estimate and when I emailed to check on it a week later I get a reply apologizing for being busy, but basically trying to talk me out of wanting to work with them because of how busy they are in place of an estimate. When youve got the dimensions, have looked at the space to get an idea of the potential hurdles, and know the type of flooring the customer is interested in to figure an average materials cost, it shouldnt take that long for a person that does if for a living to work up an estimate. Since theyre basically sales guys they also probably shouldnt take an approach of trying to talk the customer out of wanting to work with them with their communications. But...they did at least accomplish that last part.

Working with Schmidt Floors was a positive experience from beginning to end. A professional staff that values being prompt, courteous and hardworking. We had hardwood floors put in on first level of house along with tile work done in entry and laundry room. Excellent craftmanship all the way around! The floors are beautiful.

I got my floor stripped, refinished, and buffed trying to remove the dog nail marks. Schmidt came on time, did the job extremely fast, and locked up prior to leaving. They left detailed instructions on the front door for me, and did a great job. Totally worth the money and Id definitely recommend them.

I could not be happier with my floors. They actually exceeded my expectations. I choose Sedona Red and wow they look amazing. They did have some excess stain on the toe boards but, they havent fully completed the job yet. I am sure it will be perfect when they are done. The installers were very friendly and accommodating. I did not worry about them in my home alone at all.
