I go at least once a week to go through the deals on the tables. I dont get the feeling they are trying to pay the mortgage off of my single purchase when I do buy something, unlike other places. Other places are still asking for more money than online stores for ammo. The owner doesnt hesitate to help out...all around a great experience every time.

Ive only shopped online with Madison Guns, as I live in another state. But Ive got to say that Im very impressed with the prices even though theyre COVID prices, they are much better than anyone else. They also have good shipping times and they even ship to NY (most companies are afraid to do that even though its legal to do so) great company and great prices.

I never had any problems when it was Bullet stop. So I walk in and stood there for 10 minutes like I was invisible even though there was 3 people behind the counter who knows maybe I forgot to shower that day LOL.Not recommend I can spend my money elsewhere.

I just finished the conceal and carry class with mary parsons. It was great and so was she! Very informal. I learned alot. I feel more safe & more comfortable because of it. i really appreciate what ive been shown and told about in her class! Im already talking about taking more lessons with mary & really looking forward to it!

This is the worst gun shop in Rockford. they lie to customers and get mad if you call before coming in, they gave me the run around for a month I had them order me a few items and once they came in the owner told me that it’s in the shop now but he doesn’t feel like looking for it, so I waited a few more days and went up to the shop just for a foul man to treat me like I wasn’t human, i think it was the owner but not to sure, I guess they only help ppl they feel like helping and my money wasn’t good enough

When in a few weeks ago to get a rifleHard time getting anything do to what is going on with the virus scare .Was able to order something .... Took longer then what we both thought but was do to the virus and shipping.Very nice people that work there and veryHelpful as well.There starting to get more ammo and firearms in. The day I walked in .well everything was gone . Did not have any hand guns . And about out of all ammo as well.But it was all due to what is going on here right ......I give them 10 star if I could ......

Had a terrible dealing with this business and in all honesty, I have never been treated so poorly by a retailer in my entire life.I was helped by such a rude and condescending individual that did nothing but insult me with his actions, passive aggressive comments and service.I will never, ever shop here again or shy away from telling everyone that I come in contact with about my negative experience here.

This guy is a total scam artist.Keeps peddling that hes getting lower receivers for over two weeks.. we get a phone call that background check cleared and our receiver is in... Drive an hour to get told oh that didnt come inSo either you sold the receiver we paid for to someone else or you just are totally incompetent.Either way, so much for supporting local stores.You guys are terrible. 0/10

Just poor service all the way around they act like they did not want to sell me a gun like my money wasnt good enough ..... and actually they didnt!!! They basically told me to come back after I take a conceal carry class.... but I have a foid card didnt understand ...but I went to kap guns and got took care of right away with good hospitality now I give them 5⭐

An extreamly knowable staff. They take the time with you. Never make you feel rushed...Even the owner makes himself available. Prices are great. And selections, a very wide variety. Something for everyone. Shooting range was nice. The instructor taught 3 of my kids to shoot, and did a great job.....

While have not purchased a gun I have asked several questions about purchasing one. Other gun shops just ignored me because I am not ready to purchase one and only sought information on owning one. Bullet Stop owners went out of their way to answer questions I have had regarding owning a gun. We will be in the market for one soon and this is the only place I will be shopping. Keep up the GREAT customer service and your business will do great.

Steve the owner is a good guy, been doing the gun thing his whole life, very knowledgeable. He always treats me right update: Steve passed away and new owner transfer price went from 15 to 40. Wont be getting any business from me. Owner responds he gets 34 to 40 transfers a day. 🤣 Sure you do.

I picked up my gun Saturday morning after the background check was done and for the entire process no problem at all. Staff was very busy with customers but still had time for me. Whatever those other rude people had to say I dont believe. Good going Bullet Stop and keep up the good customer service. Oh and by the way.. same gun I bought at Bullet Stop was more than $100 bucks more at Gander Mountain and it was on sale there to boot.

Theyre on the pricey side but these guys have been around forever and know their guns. Staff is very helpful and attentive. I havent used the range in years so I cant speak too much on that. From what I remember its small but nice enough.

Me and my wife love going to this gun shop so much we have bought all of our guns from them. the staff are very helpful and courteous. A couple of the previous reviews mainly the negative ones are far fetched and hard to believe. If you dont like going there then dont go.

Took my CCW and bought our pistols there. Very Helpful and great classes. Only thing I can say is if your going to shoot/practice there in the winter wear your wool socks and boots. Concrete floor extremely cold on your feet. Otherwise GREAT!

The old man is a dick. I asked a simple question he looked at me if I was stupid. He stared at me the whole time like if I was a delinquent. He wouldnt even bother asking me if I needed help. I had 800$ looking to buy a gun and a few accessories. Ill take my business elsewhere.

I used to come to this rage forced to use their bullets spent good money at this place and now I cant use their range because I havent bought a handgun from here.. never will I spend money in this place again and everybody I know I will tell not to do business with these people.... this place sucks

I bought my first Firearm there at the old location on N, Second st. It was a Ruger 10-22. I loved it so much my dad took me back a few weeks later and I bought my first M1 carbine. That rifle led into an obsession with them. I ended up with all 9 manufacturers in original condition. I also bought a M1A1 paratrooper model made by Inland. I was living in Denver and I got my own FFL. I got my class 3 FFL and purchased a M2 carbine full automatic. The only one I didnt have was the M3 carbine with the night vision and the back pack battery. I was always looking for one but they were always a knockoff or a bad copy. I loved the old shop because they had more used firearms. I am a collector and Im always looking for something I dont have. They have a good selection if new firearms and I have used thier range a few times. I rather shoot outside but thats just me. Its nice that they have a good pistol range with a great instructor who is a retired police officer. They also have a nice selection if knives. For thier size if you need it they will probably have it. If not they can get it. They have average prices but they have great knowledge. I worked in the firearms industry for many years and its the only shop that I would consider working at. Thier employees are very knowledgeable. I always go thier first to look for Unique antique firearms. Give them a shot and go there. Pun intended 😁. Happy shooting.

Nice shop. I likes the old shop better when they were on North second. Only used the range once. Steve seems to be a nice guy.i bought a lot of firearms from the old store. Thier selection is a bit light and not much n collectables. Im a collector so I look for pre WW2 firearms. Rockford isnt the place for a collector. I usually go to Denver to find good old firearms. Its a pain in the butt and I have to jump through hoops but its worth it. I would. Try thier range again.

If you do business here or have ever done business here READ THIS. This review could save you from being arrested. Jim Madison is a crook who will gouge you the first chance he gets. And when he doesnt get his way he will call the ATF on you saying he suspects you of being a terrorist. And then he adds in additional guns on your forms that you didnt actually purchase, probably to sell them on the black market to criminals for many times over their retail value. This is all of course in addition to the arrogant, rude attitudes youll encounter there just as other reviews have stated. I purchase a lot of guns off of gun broker and for a little while used bullet stop to transfer my guns to. His advertisement on gun broker says he will transfer for $10 dollars, that is by far a lie. But to be honest I wasnt really expecting that unrealistic price and when I did my first transfer through them it was $30 and I was ok with that. But then as I did more transfers with them Jim started raising his prices up to $40 a transfer, I asked why and he said he had to raise his prices on everyone because he is swamped with paperwork and shipments and needs to make it more worth his while. Now I know most places will transfer for $20 - $30, Im a reasonable person and I wasnt going to cry over $10. But when I tried transferred a rock river arms AR 10 and a FN-Fal jim wanted to charge me $80 a piece to transfer them. I asked why and he said it was because of there value. That is a bunch of crap. The price for transfers have never had anything to do with the value of the gun, there supposed to be a flat rate. I was already overpaying for transfers and being gouged was the last straw. But I was respectful and polite when I declined, I didnt yell or accuse him, however jim took it as an insult for turning him down and told me to leave and never come back. I was fine with that, he had the right to make me leave his property and I will just start going to another gun store. I wish that was the end of my story but it wasnt over after that. About a week later I get a visit at my residence from two ATF agents who demanded me to produce all my guns for inspection. I quickly complied not knowing what any of this was about. They had a list of all the guns registered under my information and compared that to the guns I had, they said I was missing two ak 47 pistols, a Remington 700, and a street sweeper semi auto shotgun for the inspection. I never purchased those guns and could only hope they would believe me. They told me the inspection was warranted on the grounds that they suspect me of being a terrorist based on a tip from a gun store. They continued to demand me to produce the four missing guns that I never purchased. I told them that all my gun business was done at bullet stop gun shop and that there must be some mistake on there part. Once I mentioned bullet stop the two ATF agents stopped drilling me and almost immediately their skepticism turned to belief. They said yeah these all came from bullet stop. And just like that the inspection was over and they even apologized for the inconvenience. It would seem that jim Madison and bullet stop are well known within the circles of the ATF. When you buy a gun and fill out the form Jim Madison will add in additional guns to your form and then hold them aside to probably sell on the black market to gangsters or people with felonies. These guns will be traceable under your information and will be in the hands of criminals. I now have 2 ak 47 pistols, a Remington 700, and a street sweeper shotgun floating around under my information that are in the hands of god knows who. AVOID THIS GUN STORE AT ALL COSTS.

One of the worse customer service experiences that I have experienced since moving to the midwest 15 years ago.I walked into the store and was asked what do you want by some rude know it all employee. I figured the guy might have been having a bad day, so thought Id give him the benefit of the doubt. I told him exactly what I was looking for - a Kimber Ultra Carry II. He said that we might have one - Ill have to ask jane - after 10 minutes he came back and said - we dont have any - I asked when will you get them in - his response was probably in the next month.I just said goodbye and took my $1300 to Deerfield Pistol in Wisconsin and paid for an FFL transfer to Illinois. I am not the only person to have this experience, as I was speaking with a friend of mine, who happens to be ex. LEO - he told me he walked into this store once and would never again.Never have I met a group of such arrogant shop assistants in my whole 46 years on this Earth. I would steer well clear if you are looking for good customer service!As some of the other Reviewers here have stated, just go around the corner to Kap Guns. Steer clear of these used car Salesmen!

They are used car salesman, i took an AR setup in there may june 2012, tricked to the fullest. all the bells and whistles, minimum $2000, they offered me $500, due to the boss not liking/working with these types of rifles, then after Sandy Hook, i got in there just to browse, i ask the guy if he has any stripped lower recievers in stock, he replies, yeah i sure do, but how much do you think they are worth? so me being completely generous said $350 due to the wee bit of inflation, he then says to me, i just sold one to a guy for $800. People trying to get rich of the people who keep that little mom and pa shop open. clearly in the previews reviews you can see, im not the only one. good luck, KAP guns is pricey, but worth evey penny for the range. and the quality weapons & service
