I stopped by for lunch and am always satisfied with the food options at the self serve section. You pay by pound but you can fill the container with whatever you like, with a nice variety of meat, veggies, and carbs. I recommend going through the self checkout line if youre only picking up a meal. Theres also some tables right outside with umbrellas for you to enjoy your food outdoors. Lines werent bad around noon and the staff was friendly.

Slightly smaller than some others in the area, this grocery store makes up for what it lacks in size with sparkling clean interiors, well organized products and good customer service. It also offers handicap accessibility with plenty of parking spaces at a convenient location. Its a great place to grab something more affordable on the go!

The Safeway at Menlo Park is way better than all other Safeways in East Bay or SF area.Saw larger variety of both packed goods and fresh produce.

Ive always been a big fan of Safeway. Generally, I always feel welcome and have a great shopping experience. This location however, needs to be improved. Weve had to return chicken and meat several times as it was spoiled, the express lanes are always closed and when they are open, the cashiers dont enforce the 15 item limit, lines are very long, produce is often left empty and sloppy.

Friendly customer service. I use just for you rewards and get amazing deals at Safeway. If you pay attention to the sales and shop using coupons you can save a lot of money! Only place I buy groceries. For instance I got many many boxes of cereals for a $1.49. I got 12 packs of soda four for $14.

It has the best selection due to being larger than a lot of nearby Safeways. I appreciate the curbside delivery, but they dont always answer the phone when you get there; Ive had to wait 20 minutes in my car. Sometimes they make odd substitutions for online shopping items, and dont always pay attention to the preference to not have unavailable items replaced, so be prepared for disappointment sometimes. However, compared to the Sequoia Station Safeway in nearby Redwood City, this one is far better and cleaner and more organized (from a curbside pickup perspective).

This Safeway is everything you expect at the market. The car park great thee interior siuper spacious you know every single store kinda reminds me of the other. I think thats good because are all niew construction great parking middle of everything location and whatever your looking for bamm right there.

This Store has the absolute best selection of any Safeway in the area. It is my favorite one. The prices are excellent, especially with sales ones. Additionally, the Staff are always friendly and kind to me. They enjoy hearing that they are appreciated. Safeway is my first and excellent choice for shipping.

Ridiculous. No carts or baskets at either end of the store. I was limited to what I could carry.THEN, the lines were so long and slow at checkout that I stood there holding my groceries including a gallon of milk for 10 minutes

Friday late afternoon is a bad time to shop. Busy and lots of easily frustrated shoppers.

Not all Safeways are the same. This one is one of the better ones. Clean, bright and a fun touch of naming aisles after streets in Palo Alto and Menlo Park. Staff helpful and a great variety of products. On my list of favorite Safeways in the Bay Area ❤

I was told they will no longer be carrying glucose tablets which is an OTC medication that saves lives. Unlike the other OTC meds they carry in several brands, these do not save lives and are used for comfort. It is absolutely ludicrous that Safeway will cease carrying glucose tablets while Diabetes is on the rise. It effects millions of people, so NOT to cater to this audience is a critical error. Safeway you need to provide glucose tabs of any brand and lessen the multitude of vitamins, antacids and laxatives in stock that do not make the difference between life and death.

Big airy place to food shop

Fantastic supermarket. It’s huge, has everything you might need and has relatively good prices (especially if you are a member). They have a great meat selection and good options for fish too. Lines were pretty fast.

I have consistently found that the lines at this Safeway are longer than those elsewhere, at San Antonio Road for example. I really try to avoid it for this reason unless there is some other reason to be in Menlo Park. Its still preferable to the Safeway in Midtown which needs a total remodel.

Lost my phone and the clerk denied it being there I went to find my phone and it was located there my second attempt bringing my proof that it was somewhere in that store and needing authority to search for it got the phone foundThe cart bagger employ was special needs and wasnt informal but had knowledge of it all by his delayed responces after it was locatedI was amazed that it was turned off and denied the female was a checker but became front desk being the one that locked it in a drawer thats not for lost items I feel if I wasnt able to find it by googleitvwoujd of been stole by her because she was there knowing its lost from beginning and being easy check out by turning it off and putting it where she could take it without reportLost my trust and not my store anyway its been told. This has to be the worst store in the entire chain.Don’t ever try to call customer service because they just don’t answer the phone in any department! The staff is rude and unkept and I can’t understand why this store seems to have no oversight at all. The checkers are always angry and seem to really hate their jobs.I will now go out of my way to not shop here.

The employees at this store are very helpful. One worker who apparently could only speak spanish, got someone else to help me, which I thought was very thoughtful. Too bad I cant remember her name.

It can be a bit difficult to find staff to help you but apart from that they definitely keep the store nice and clean and I always see cart people disinfecting the carts which is always nice to see.

A terrible place to shop. A Hispanic woman at the Farmacy was so rude. I was picking up my moms meds and I had a couple of other items that I should’ve been able to pay for as well as as my prescription, but she said there’s was a line and I should pay at the front fir those items. There was only one person behind me and I have always paid for a few items at the Farmacy when I pay for the prescription meds. She just had a smirk on her face and turned around. Just terrible service. Another time, a cashier named Hugo asked me to empty my basket which had several items. I asked him if he noticed my wrist brace and he said he wasn’t allowed to take the items out of the basket himself. I normally I’d do that myself but most cashiers everywhere else are polite and go out of their way to help, but not at this Safeway. Anyhow, I never went back there and I know go to Sharon Heights Safeway, it’s a lot better and the staff there are absolutely awesome people.

Its your basic Safeway. Lots of food. Pretty good selection. Usually not crowded. Easy parking and access from El Camino.

Their liquor selection was a little low on stock, so they didnt have everything on my list. The eggnog selection was a little limited also. This was a rare occasion, I can usually find everything I need, its definitely my favorite safeway, spacious, lots of offerings, short lines, plenty of parking and a great hot food, bakery and deli selections.

One of the largest Safeway stores on the peninsula. Has a large selection of items and prices are reasonable on everyday items, try to catch the weekly sales where the prices are really good! Happy shopping!

Had a wallet stolen from our cart in the parking lot and the customer service employee refused to help. She could have looked at the cameras and aided us in getting priceless pictures back. ATROCIOUS! supposed to be a nicer safeway but its roach infested.safeway.com was no help. thank you for your continued non help.

This is really for the small watch servicing place in inside of Safeway. Tony is a great guy who works hard. Hes honest with fair prices. Ive developed a bit if a watch fetish and I take all my watches there to get links added or removed or for new batteries.

Not a fan of this Safeway. Old bettys here are crabby, people are impatient with their carts. The only thing that saves it is the friendly check out peeps and the great flower/balloon section.

Great store layout with available outlets to charge electronics outside of course. But employees were constantly following me around as if I were not welcome... Not a welcoming feeling at all.

A larger safeway, well stocked. Their plants have become unreasonably expensive since the takeover.

As a grocery store, it’s fine. However, I’ve had multiple bad experiences with their Drive Up & Go service. The orders are often ready about two hours after the scheduled pick-up time. I’ve had difficulty with getting through on the number you call. In my last order, I called 10 times over 30 minutes before connecting through. Additionally, once I’ve gotten through it’s been about 10-20 minutes typically before my order comes out. All to say, it’s about an hour of sitting in the parking lot. Not to mention that the people make some really dumb and expensive substitutions. When you order ice cream, you don’t really expect them to substitute the equivalent number of individual servings of ice cream. Pretty funny!

Last year this deli was probably the best Safeway had in the bay area. Not anymore. Id guess they have a new manager. No organization.one girl making 6 burritos, 5 people in line. And the other girl doesnt help her, just makes jokes laughs and slowly makes lunch dishes. 20 plus mins waiting at deli to wait in a line of ten people at the registers. Amazing the difference😵in of year

They didn’t leave a large bottle (24 oz.) of mirin and apparently only have it delivered 3x/wk.

I ordered a cake for Mothers Day. Mind you Im out of state and could not be with my mother or family members. They were excellent with this cake. It tasted amazing! It was a Chocolate Cake, Buttercream Icing, Raspberry decorations and filling, they also decorated the cake in Lavender writing Happy Mothers Day and FRESH raspberries on top! My family LOVED it! It was the greatest hug I could ever send them! It was so AFFORDABLE and it fed plenty with leftovers! Thank you to the Bakery team and their amazing work!

Disappointing bakery section. Looking for a basic item, banana nut bread. Not only did they not have it, everything they had was glazed and full of preservatives, and honestly looked kind of cheap quality and on the shelf for a while. I dont mind some of that, but to have no decently healthier options?? Definitely will skip next time.

Some of their sales are great but theyre fruits and vegetables are a huge disappointment! Overripe or no flavor! Oh, this location has the serve yourself hit food and you pay by the pound. I had just gotten my food. Well a man had a cold, blew his nose, and went on to get his food! Ugh! I had gotten 2 items pork fried rice, and sweet and sour pork. It was $9 for the little bit I had! Ridiculous!
