I wanted to sit and have a cup of coffee and while my daughter was in school . I found this place here on yelp and thought Id try it out. I wasnt expecting just how amazing this place would turn out to be! The service is fantastic, very warm and friendly employees. They recommended the Spanish latte, which was a absolutely delicious! My new favorite. I also got the avocado toast. I loved that it was different from your average avocado toast, they add honey and chili pepper on top. Its beyond amazing. And its only $5.75! Totally affordable! I even got TWO! I couldnt resist! This is my new favorite coffee shop!
My first time here. I will have to think hard if I wanna be back or not. Ordered online today, and picked up in store. They forgot to include their overpriced croissant, but charged me the full amount. My husband went back to get the croissant. They warmed it up, although I didn’t want it warmed. They need to learn how to read and follow instructions. Hey, if I like cold croissant, I like it that way. Don’t warm it up man. Simple. I should add that it looked like a costco croissant that you pay six bucks for 12 pieces. If somebody sells me a 4-dollar croissant, it better be made in-house (which it still could have been, but it just looked and tasted exactly like a Costco croissant).Next, I ordered a ‘Mango Banana Pineapple Orange Juice’ smoothie which cost 7.75 and that’s overpriced even for Irvine where I live. To make it worse, the smoothie was 99% crushed ice. It was not blended in a Vitamix. They need professional grade blender in their kitchen. Also, nowhere in their menu did it say it was a blended drink. If it did, I wouldn’t order it. It’s a rip off. I could have bought a full mango, banana, orange and pineapple for eight dollars and made a whole lot better smoothie than that. Next time, please take the time to notify the customer that majority of the ‘smoothie’, if I should be even call it a smoothie, is ice chips. My husband said it was worse than a 7-11 slushee.I want to add that the overpriced chicken sandwich had very little chicken in it. It had browning / yellowing old stale cilantro and crushed pepper Everywhere. The bread was so doughy I had difficulty chewing and swallowing. Felt like 90% bread and 10% other ingredients. Extremely dry and not seasoned at all. Super bland tasting. Also, I ordered the avocado roasts which had rave reviews (probably written by biased friends and family). I live on avocado toasts, and I’ve never in my life had such a weird tasting avocado toast. It had honey in it which made it sweet. It was not seasoned with salt and pepper whatsoever. Super bland, and on top of it, crushed pepper everywhere that you get free from pizza stores. Burned the hell out of my lips. The toast was hard to bite and chew. SO. HARD. Like I’m biting on a piece of brick.Like I said, I would have to think hard before I order from them again. A lot of reviewers mentioned they mess up your order. I should’ve listened to them. Overall, I feel like I was ripped off. Really badly. If I want healthy lunch, I will go somewhere else next time.
This business provides the right mix of indoor and outdoor area for hanging out, chatting, or being very efficient. Overall, the environment is extremely welcoming and a nice spot to visit. The service was excellent, and all of the workers were honest and competent. Excellent people and service, good coffee and food, and great environmental quality. Strongly suggested!
I absolutely love this place. I order avocado toast with regular honey and chili.. sometimes with egg tartar. The coffee selection is great and it tastes even better.
A very nice place to relax! There was a good menu if you wanna stay the day and eat here too. No complaints, tasty coffee, fast service, and water for free. This coffee shop was one of the best places to relax. A big thank you to the coffee shop especially to the staff who was very professional and friendly!
I love the variety in the menu. Im from LA where specialty coffee shops are everywhere, I was happy to make a pit stop here. Coffee is amazing a must if you want to shake off Starbucks. Staff was nice & helpful helping me decide my drink!
I had the most amazing Carmel macchiato this past weekend! The croissant waffles are a must!
Great place for a weekend morning! Stopped here to try out their breakfast and drinks and was not disappointed. I will definitely visit again to try out more menu items. My drink was a black tea latte with honey to sweeten it, but it was still really unsweet. I think I just ordered wrong for what I was looking for. Next time Ill try a coffee.
I ordered Avocado Toast with egg tartar and oven roasted tomatoes. It was literally the most incredible thing I have ever eaten, with so many complex flavors that fit so well together. Compliments to the chef! Wouldve rated it 7 stars if that was an option
Kona Loa is quickly becoming my go to coffee place in Mission Viejo. The setting is really nice, dim with Hawaiian decor. They are conveniently located off Jeronimo and Alicia, in the shopping center.I have tried both the Cappuccino and Mocha, and I was very satisfied. I typically like to rate coffee places by their mochas, because I can tell if they use good chocolate. If they do, then I know their quality of beans will be just as good. I will keep visiting and hope to give them a 5 star.
I love the coffee and was a frequent customer. the service has been horrible over this past year. got my order wrong for the last time today, then went on to correct me on how I wear a mask. kid should have said something when I went through the line the first time. this isnt the first time they have got my order wrong or forgot and had to go back thru the line. 👋
Love coffee here. I also LOVE the Hawaiian food options. Its not just typical muffins and bread like other cafes.
Great quality, but little slow on their service.
If you want to know what Kona coffee tastes like, this is it. I ordered the iced americano with oat milk and it brings me back home to Hawaii. It reminds me of Kona coffee ice cream that I have had on the Big Island . The staff are very friendly and I was able to wait inside while my coffee was being made. The interior is warm and inviting and I wish I could just sit and enjoy my coffee there which is so delicious yall. Love it!
Fabulous avocado toast! The island latte is lovely, too.
Choco Chill is the greatest. My old co worker Leo told me about this place. coming here every time I pass by since then!
A lavender latte or Turmeric latte with hemp milk; yes please!!!!
Amazing coffee, food is great too
Ordered a dirty chai. Very creamy Ana not too sweet. I’ll visit again for sure
Their lattes have a nice bold flavor. The service is fantastic. Lots of avocado toast and other healthy eats are available here. However I usually get the cranberry orange muffin or chocolate croissant
This was me and my girlfriends second time at Kona Loa. Both times the food and the service were superb. The 1st time we had the golden chip latte, it was delicious. I also had the avacado toast with the hardboiled egg. This open face sandwich was amazing. The flavor combinations with honey and red pepper flakes was perfect and the quantity was enough for two. The 2nd time I had the egg tartar and even my girlfriend said thats what shes having next time. We shared a cinnamon roll and a blueberry crafting (croissant/muffin) both were butter, flakey and just sweet enough but not to much. This will be one of our regular spots going forward..oh and the staff are friendly and very helpful with suggestions...
Fantastic service, and fantastic drinks! I love coming in here! Two staff members in particular, Vaness and London, are always the best!
I love this place! It has such a chill vibe and the food and drinks are delicious. The people that work here are super nice and the customers are as well. Its definitely the best coffee shop in the area and the only one I go to when I want a good latte or need to crack down on some work.
Went for coffee and a cake, very nice indeed and well priced. Will be happy to go back and have a meal next time. Great little place.
Very friendly workers. Price is a little high for me for there espresso choices but the taste of it and the portion compensate. Will definitely come back!
Semi-cozy place with huge coffee/tea/other selection. A number of interesting pastries and snack food items too. No comfy couch but lots of space to open a laptop, chat, play a game, and just just chill with a refreshing beverage. Theyre open later too, until about 11:30 which helps when other shops like this close between 9 and 10. The staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely check it out as a place to relax and enjoy a good beverage.
Friendly staff and good selection of meals/snacks and drinks. Meals change daily good choice with veggie option. Good size portions served with a smile.
Inside this gem-of-a-place youll find an inviting environment, board games, books, places to plug in or just sit and read. The food is always fresh and excellent, and if you order one of their scrambles, bring a friend to share it with or plan to take some home. The watermelon cooler is to die for, with just a hint of mint and no added sweeteners. Fresh coffee, and other specialty drinks. Theres even tea brewed to perfection in a pot! Theyre getting it very right, and I often drive out of my way to give them my business.
The single best item on menu, for me at least, is their bulletproof coffee. Well made, perfectly blended, with great coffee as a base. Their avocado toast is wonderful too. Its a little off the beaten path, but worth the detour to visit. Such a great little coffee shop with character, which is such a wonderful change from the sea of generic Starbucks. Go here!
Great drinks. Great food. The avocado toast is tasty but for those who have issue with spice may want the red chili on the side or ask them to go light on it. I liked the spicy factor of the red chili with the sweetness of the honey
The plaza where its located its not the best. Been there a few times and always struggles to find parking. Coffee is good, but they dont have dark roast, only medium roast. Their solution was to add a espresso shot, but they only do double shots, so I ended up paying a lot of money for an okay coffee.
Cool little coffee shop. Great coffee with a nice environment. I ended up hanging out with a friend for a while in great conversation. Which I would never do at a Starvucks. It was nice.
Latte was delicious, and my son loved his hot chocolate. Also had an iced peach tea, which was very good. There is a lot of seating, tall tables, regular height tables, and a large table for groups. The baristas are friendly. There are puzzles and games for people to use. The music covers the sounds of conversation at other tables, but not to loud to carry on a conversation of your own. A lot of people were working on their laptops or studying. The restroom is clean.
You wouldnt know it from the outside but you need to step in to this coffee house. I love the setting - the furniture, the interior, the vibe, and yes, the coffee is excellent too. Its a great place to meet up with friends - sit at one of the large tables and play from their library of board games. There is a Starbucks nearby, but this may be my new favorite coffee house.
Lousy coffee, prices inexplicably high, weird tasting breads and pastries. No atmosphere. I wish they wouldve used that spot to open instead the most delicious coffee: PETEs COFFEE!
Fantastic staff!! Cozy feeling walking into the coffee shop. Great tasting coffee, breakfasts and sandwiches.
Love, love this place. Staff is very friendly. The best spam musubi, freshly made every day. Not a coffee drinker but love their mango tea with passion jelly!!
Seating can be limited and the outdoor seating is so bad it deducted a star. The drinks and food are great. The staff is warm and friendly.
Loved the tofu-cream cheese on malted bread! I love coming here to get some work done and drink tea (in teapot or per glass). The golden chai with coconut is delicious!
Great Coffee and Service
Its hard to find solid coffee in the suburbs but they knock it out of the park. From straight espresso to specialty drinks like bullet proof and trimeric lattes. I found my new place when visiting my family. The spam misubi is great and cant wait to try their other fare.
I love this place!! The people, food, coffee, all incredible!
Really nice place. Staff was very friendly as well. My coffee was fantastic! I got the four shot large latte with heavy whipping cream and it is perfect. They also have a good selection of Hawaiian food and even Hawaiian water. My girlfriend ( who is from Hawaii) got a Spam Musubi and said it was extremely good and authentic.
Great coffee place! I loved the sushi rice wraps they had and the Laura Palmer drink (reference to the Twin Peaks series). The amount of seating is tight but nice, too.
I was driving by and saw the words Kona Coffee. Well, I LOVE Kona Coffee. I actually grew up in Kailua-Kona and worked on a coffee plantation as a teenager. I have never found any other coffee in the world that compares. At any rate, the atmosphere is elegant and comfortable, the staff is friendly and attentive, the music has an island flair, and the coffee is beyond delicious! The location is not particularly convenient to where I live, but I will drive well out of my way to get coffee there over any other location. You will pay more for a cup of the best stuff they offer, but I would encourage anyone to treat themselves if they havent tried it before. There are also some very good blends if you dont feel like paying extra. But the owners obviously care about coffee and invested time and effort in offering a superior product. I highly recommend stopping by!
Always ready when I get there and tastes delicious!!
This is my our new favorite coffee place. Their Golden Chai Latte is especially good. Awesome place!
I LOVE THIS PLACE!It is the best environment and most friendly staff I have ever experienced at a coffee shop. I have to say its the tears of coffee shops. I always get the Musubi which is breakfast in a little pouch tried the breakfast burrito with the Portuguese sausage today it was incredible. I recommend this place to all my friends and they are so impressed they go back every time.
Place is great to grab a cup of coffee and relax. Their Hawaiian food is also really good!
Nice place for the assistance to make my selections as a commitment to Good choices for what I seek in the way of drink and food. Staff are very accommodating to my personalized requests, great job well done.
Great coffee place and good customer service. I like the it in here, it was relaxing and clean area as well.
Great place to study with fantastic people who work there. They have unique types of coffee like Bulletproof coffee. Only downside is that more seating and outlets could help, but thats because the place is finally gaining the popularity it deserves.
Love The Avocado Toast and almost any coffee I have tried there! Just tried the Green tea frappe and I loved that too!! Nice that its open later for us coffee lovers that drink coffee late!
So today I went in around 11am order a java chip and mocha frap thick . I told the young lady I have a 5$ rewards on my phone number she still charged me the full price didn’t use my 5$ off then give me a small when I order a large then want to charge me the other 1.50 $ difference. I said use my rewards she could not figure that out then they for got the java chip I just walked out was late to work from lunch waiting for little girl who don’t know what they r doing to waste my time.
Cozy island style cafe serving delicious Kona coffee and extraordinary avocado toast. Highly recommended for a delicious breakfast. They also have free wifi if youre looking for a place to study and you want to support a local business.
A very chill place. Staff are very friendly. Coffee and bakery is great!
Their biscotti and spanish latte are amazing!
Great place to get coffee and light breakfast. Casual and relaxing g meet up place.
Always a great spot, if you ever need help theres a really nice employee with glasses whos always helpful! I took my mother here for the first time and he even exchanged her drink when he found out she didnt like it! 😀
This place is amazing. Truly right out of Hawaii. The coffees are amazing the ginger tea out of this world and the people who work there are relational kind and there to meet your needs.
This place is fantastic. Go two to three times per week, everyone there is always great and hospitable. Interesting food choices. Havent found something I havent liked yet.
Good coffee in the Corporate Coffee Federation of South Orange County. Its Hawaiian themed which means they have Hawaiian varieties of coffee and they offer with pour over or the new fad of bulletproof which is basically blending coffee and butter. Coffee is good as are the musabi rolls but the prices are really high. It costs almost $8 for a pour over here. Seems like a cool place to hang out.
Excellent coffee and food. This is our local favorite!
Oat milk latte & banana bread are good things to try. Banana bread is not too sweet, its a combine of banana and coconut flavors.
Best coffee in town! Cool atmosphere and friendly employees. They have lots of food too, avocado toast was tasty.
Nice place for quick coffee shopping, different types of coffee combination available. You can grab a cup of coffee, read a book, work on your laptop or have a meeting on a startup idea
Great atmosphere to chat, work, and play a couple games they have on a shelf. Tasty and diverse beverages, interesting snacks. Excellent staff.
Good decent coffee. Pastries were kinda stale. Cute little spot though.
Love this place. Coffee and atmosphere,,cool vibes
Breakfast Flatbread exactly how we ordered it and coffee was so delicious. Nice atmosphere to sit and catch up.
Good location, good coffee. Nice people and lots of places to sit for studying and things, but the chairs/benches are hard. No comfy areas with friends.
Love this coffee place! Not only a variety of drinks but their food is very good, and priced right. Just go once and youll see.
The coffee and is amazing. After visiting this coffee shop, I will NEVER go to Starbucks, Coffee Bean, or Peetes. Theres always a crowd and its understandable, the coffee is literally out of this world!
Really cute local coffee shop. Their avocado toast is so delicious!
Aloha! The food and coffee is legit Hawaiian! When I get the chance to dine in for breakfast, I get the loco moco with side of Portuguese sausage. When Im on the go, I usually come to grab a quick coffee and a delicious spam, egg, jalapeno musubi. The staff is friendly and helpful! Parking is easy.
Beverages always great. Baristas always cordial. Often not enough seating. I think they lose business for that. Please relocate. :)
Chris is a lovely lady. Always a smile and quick to welcome you. Try the refreshing Watermelon Mint smoothie. Delicious!
Excellent as always. I always get a lavender latte with hemp milk AND a turmeric latte with hemp milk.. The line was out the door this morning. Sure wish they would reconsider opening another closer to aliso viejo.
Someday Ill treat myself to one of their 7$ pour overs. But for my money, the baseline cup is the best around. Bright and fruity, its hard to find coffee like this at a fair price. This place is worth a detour.
Breakfast Flatbread exactly how we ordered it and coffee was so delicious. Nice atmosphere to sit and catch up.
One of the best coffee shops around, and in such a random location! The coffee is bomb and I love their chai lattes. Also they have spam musubi which is so good! I love coming here to study and chill in the laid back atmosphere.
