Never been to a glass museum before, what a surprise! The only thing I knew before visiting was from some basic television programs that detailed how they blow glass, but this museum was mostly about fused glass. It’s incredible what they are able to do and how intricate the designs, details, and colors are! Everything inside the paperweights is glass! That’s the only way they could possibly do it since anything organic would just burn up in the heat! They have an interesting historical section too! The ladies at the front desk were very helpful and were more than happy to answer any questions. Admission is free, but obviously they accept donations to keep the museum going strong. Enjoy!

The museum has a wonderful assortment of glass art. The gift shop also has some souvenirs including some glass pieces of varying sizes. There are also art classes available that teach you how to make glass art of your own, though if you are just passing through keep in mind it can take a week or so to have the pieces fired in the kiln before you take them home.

Fantastic museum across from beautiful park. I was surprised at the size of the museum and the variety of contemporary art pieces. My husband, who threatened to stay for only 30 seconds, ended up staying for an hour, engrossed in the complexity and artistry of making glass paperweights and other art pieces. Free admission. Highly recommend!

Ive been here multiple times and the staff is always friendly. Admission is free and donations are welcomed. The museum often has interactive activities going on and fun events. They offer classes and have activities and art for all ages. My favorite room is the Boardroom. One of the times I went the museum had a scavenger hunt throughout all the exhibits. They provide adult classes and fun date night activities. Also, the museum is located right across the street from Riverside Park, so you can easily make plans for a full day out.

This must be the BEST museum experience I have ever had. Usually my art tastes are more about modern art, like politically charged pieces and nude photography and mixed media and graphic design. I was thoroughly surprised not only by the pieces but also by the friendly and funny staff. Intriguing, attention grabbing exhibits like This Just In that include modern pieces donated to the museum by local artists, and antique and even ancient pieces such as Sweetmeat glasses and painted goblets. I would definitely consider going again.

I found this location as an assignment for a summer class through UW-Green Bay and Im so glad I did. I went in with the mindset that I just wanted to get my assignment done, but a few hours later I was sad to part ways. It was one of the coolest experiences I have had. I spent around 2 hours here and could have easily spent more time. There are so many pieces of art here and many have such intricate details. One of the workers talked to me about my assignment and would check up on me once and a while pointing out some of her favorite pieces. This added to my experience because I could tell she was also passionate about being there. This worker also pulled up a video for me on one of my favorite pieces so I could see how it was made.

A museum that boasts the largest collection of paperweights may not seem like a required stop in Neenah, but it is definitely among most interesting places I have ever visited. The staff was very friendly and full of knowledge on everything in the museum. My personal favorite was the exhibit on the making of the paperweights. Also there is no absurd admission price, just a suggested donation. Overall a wonderfully interesting place to stop and visit.

I never thiught paperweights could be interesting but the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum has opened my eyes and given me a new appreciation for this form of glass art.I visited this free museum on my first trip to Neenah with my family just a few days ago. It was a Thursday so it was a calm day with few other visitors during our afternoon visit. This free museum is spacious and clean. Most of glass on display is paperweights, complete with an interactive explanation of how paperweights are made. They also have a modern glass section and an antique glassware section. The downstairs area has a glass studio where the community and sign up for various glass making classes. The classes seemed very approachable and reasonably priced (not to mention the friendly staff). I would love to come back for a glass class when I return to Wisconsin.
