Great experience! The Doctor took the time to explain everything to me. As a new patient, exploring progressive lenses, I have been a bit hesitant in making the change. I feel confident that they will help me through the transition. The front office staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They explained my options thoroughly and answered all of my questions. They offer a large selection of frames and I was a little overwhelmed but the staff helped me choose the right frames for me. Excellent overall experience!!

Dr. Young and the rest of the staff were incredible! I called Tuesday with a slightly urgent issue with my eye, I was seen first thing Wednesday. This was my daughters first visit to a eye care specialist. We showed up 45 minutes too early and they still got us in and out in just 20-30minutes. The staff were very nice and helpful. My 5 year old had the nurse laughing, the nurse and the dr. Made the exam fun for my daughter. She also got a extremely sturdy and beautiful pair of frames for her prescription glasses. They helped my daughter see how cool she looks in her glasses. So cross my fingers shell wear them everyday without a fuss lol. She keeps asking me when her glasses will be ready. She wants to wear them to class so bad lol. My parents and myself have always came here for eye care, and they are always the best. So, I knew my daughter would have a smooth fun visit with them. You guys wont regret choosing them. Especially if you have a little one who needs glasses or eye care. Best place ever deserve 5 stars

I took my 87 year old Mom to Opticare yesterday for a follow up visit to see if prescription glasses would help her eyesight any or not. Everyone at Opticare was friendly and helpful and even though they were not able to help her eyesight it was an enjoyable experience for her!!

Everyone at the Newport office is extremely nice and caring! I had a wonderful and thorough visit. From the receptionist to the doctor to the care of looking for frames, everyone took all the time needed to help me during my visit.

Everyone at this location is friendly and genuinely cares about people. I went in today frustrated with my glasses and the need to switch them out depending on what I am doing. Dr. Young suggested contacts and fit me with a trial prescription for a couple weeks to make sure they are going to work for me before we order them. He patiently worked with me to make sure I had no problems getting the contacts in. With the contacts, I left there feeling free of all the frustrations I was having. I have worn them all day with no problems seeing whatever it is I have worked on. Last year and this year, the staff at Opticare have worked with us to find the best solution for us. I highly recommend them.

So i had a pc of metal in my eye for a couple days. Saturday morning i realized i had to go get help and have it removed. I called 5 different eye care places between 9 and 910am. All open at 9 on Saturday except 2 were closed. I left a message to call me back with 3 places, none have yet to call me back. Opticare was the only one that answered, and they were busy and booked full. The nice lady told me she would slot me in at 1030 but come on down now(like 915) and they will do what ever they can to get me bumped up and into see the Dr asap. She even took my information over the phone so i wouldnt have to fill out paperwork when i got there. I showed up about 945 and was out by 1015, the dr found the metal in my eye, scraped it out, showed me. Explained there is rust and he needs to go back into it with a grinder and remove it all, which he did. He was very professional, very knowledgeable, yet very direct and efficient andexplanatory with me in a very short time. I knew they were busy and he didnt have time to bs with me but got me in, fixed and out and on to the next patient immediately as i was paying my bill. Dont know if i can say this, but im going to because i respected it. I dont have insurance so i was paying by cash. And i dont have much of that either, but my eye is more important. I had told them i would be paying cash when we were on the phone, so it was noted on my paperwork. I figured it would cost $100 or 150, maybe 200, but i wasnt sure. So as i was cashing out the Dr. walked by and told the receptionist that i was paying cash, and i was calm and made his job easier as he stuck griders in my eye so hive him 20% off, (i dont know what it should or does cost anywhere else or if i got a goodprice or if its high.My bill was $142 and some change) i hoped it would be less cause it literally took less than 10 minutes, but i also know its a specialty process, new intruments for every patient, i know they arent cheap, lots of office over head to account for in a business like this, so unseen costs make some things expensive. But i was completely fine, and so was my eye, with 142 dollars in and out the door. I thought that was cool, and my eye feels much better today. And he ordered an antibiotic drops for my eye to make sure it doesnt get infected as the metal was in it for 3 days and rusting and he had to grind rust out. Long story short, they cared when i called, did what they had to to get me on the schedule that day then made sure i got attention nearly as soon as i walked in, and this place was busy!!! They did a great job fixing my eye while also making me comfortable about tools going in my eye, then did what they could to help me financially and to help hury me through at the pharmacy so i could get out of the city and back to the country where i reside. Yes i will recommend Opticare and i will consult them if i ever need eye care again.So thank you!!

Besides normal checkups and glasses, I have had to contact Opticare twice with eye injuries. Both times they got me in within a an hour or two and were able to diagnose the issue and treat my eye and follow up. Awesome to have old time service with modern day care.

Appointment was right on time and staff was friendly and helpful. I met a very honest doctor that confirmed that my prescription had started to change but did not try to pressure me immediately into buying a new pair of glasses and in fact recommended that I could easily wait another 6 months. You just dont find this type of honesty many places anymore.

I have been an opticare customer for about 3 years or so. Due to health issues while pregnant, I had an urgent need to see a doctor today to check out a possible eye issue in my 3rd trimester. I am so grateful that Opticare squeezed me in for an appointment the same day I called instead of 3 weeks from now. I would have had to have gone to another place but since they got me in, we were able to compare my past exam records and deem the issue at hand a “mild” case. It definitely helped calm this first time mom’s nerves. I highly recommend Dr. Aiken and the entire team!

Very impressed with Opticare Vision Center. Well ran, friendly and very knowledgeable staff, and Dr. Young truly took the time to get my correct prescription which turned out to be different than what the previous eye doctor had given! He even worked to figure out the correct lenses that will help my eyes work better together and provide more comfort long term which is a huge plus. I know it seems expected but some people just dont go the extra mile like experienced at this place!

To be honest, I was not expecting much because the outside is a basic cinder block building that is painted white. It isnt ugly, it just doesnt jump out at you.I live not even 5 minutes from there, and just noticed it a few weeks ago, even though I have passed it at least 1000 times. It sits on a hill, and is kind of hidden due to the businesses on either side. When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a basic, older office that matched the outside. The saying Never judge a book by its cover definitely applied in this case. Its beautiful, clean, and very modern.I have worked for an Optometrist (Pre-Tester) and also an Ophthalmologist (Ophthalmic Assistant). Because I am very familiar with the examination process and office procedures, I am pretty picky on where I go for my eyecare needs. Opticare definitely met my expectations. If you need an exam or glasses, give them a try. Tell them that Angel sent you. 😊I want to thank the two ladies that helped me decide what frames to choose. They made me feel confident that my super cute, fun, red frames not only look good on me, but they also show my personality. 🙃

My 7 year old son injured his eye. I called and they immediately got us in and checked. Dr. Young was fantastic. I would recommend him to any parent as a wonderful pediatric ophthalmologist.

I have now had the pleasure of seeing all three eye doctors at Opticare Newport and I am happy to be a patient there. I have gone to this location since I was a teenager. The staff is always pleasant and super helpful. Everyone listens to your concerns from front desk staff to the doctors themselves. I never leave with unanswered questions about my eye health. Appointments are available in a timely manner, they offer a great variety of glasses and contact lenses, and they are conveniently located. Upon entering, I am greeted at registration desk; ladies at their desks say hi. Im not sitting long, just enough time to get my coat off. Assistant takes me to room to perform tests, then to exam room. Dr. Young enters, shakes hands, greets very warmly. We talk about his family. I instigated conversation. Then we begin very thorough exam. Eye drops then another exam. We discuss my progress. Good checkup. We shake hands, i leave with good-byes from ladies and a happy feeling.

Quick appointment, nearly no wait time. All staff were friendly and helpful. The technician was very patient with me being sensitive about my eyes being messed with. Dr. Young made the exam as pleasant as possible and cracked some jokes. Ill be back with them for future exams.
