El Toro is a great place to buy your ingredients for authentic Mexican food, bakery items and even prepared food.But the carneceria is THE BEST! GET THE SHORT RIBS!!! Theyre a little spendy....... but GET THE SHORT RIBS !

Its almost a five star experience, for a mercado. This is not a Safeway or other hyper corporate place, and as such it should not be evaluated in that fashion. The kitchen portion of this butcher/small market is very good. They have things that you cant get easily anywhere else, and their prepared food is good/very good. The people in the whole mercado/carniceria are helpful and generally very nice. The prices are good, you usually get very good value. I highly recommend it

Their deli area is amazing, we ordered tacos n some carnitas burritos . The meat was flavorful and great portion for the price.

Bad customer service with the guy at the meat department, very lazy, my husband asked him two times in a row to cut something for him, both times, he had an excuse, the machine was broken or being cleaned and said that we had to wait 20 minutes...

Very nice small town meat market. Clean well stocked. Fresh baked breads home cooked hot foods to go or sit down and eat. Fresh Mex California style !

Great meat selection and pasteries. If you have never tried Mexican sour cream then you dont know what you have been missing. They serve it by the pound in a deli style container. This is the type they serve on food trucks.

The food is awesome!! I love to get the meat they have seasoned and take it home and cook it. The burritos there have always been good for me as well. At times it has been a little long on the wait but it has always tasted great. A lot of other stuff to shop for.

The food is good but the customer service is garbage. I ordered Birria and they only gave me juice..why would I only want juice after she asked what kinda meat I wanted...so when I called her to let her know my order was not right she was gave me attitude. Then I asked to speak to a manager or person in charge she said he was not going to be in and did not know when he was going to go in. Then I asked for his name and said she couldn’t give it to me...really!!! Lady behind the food counter needs to go!!!

I would definitely rate this place a 5 star. And recommend greatly for the Jonas brothers to come and eat here and this place get two thumbs up

Best marinated carne asada and short ribs! Great prices and friendly workers. They also have the best fresh salsa. I come here at least twice a week!

I love this Market, the refried beans are like my Mexican families type I cant even make them that way. I just bought chicken fish and beef the prices are absolutely wonderful especially considering the quality of the meat.

My boyfriend and I have been coming here for ever! NEVER will be back. Waited in line for over 30 minutes I understand lunch time is a busy time, aside from the order being wrong (it happens)...I ordered a carnitas burrito and the meat is dry, burnt, and the burrito was so greasy it fell apart! This looks awful made me sick looking at it. So ya never again wasting time or money.

Morning staff doesnt treat customers right.I ordered a taco de al pastor one morning, but i received a cilantro taco instead with big pieces of onion.Disappointing, because the food is good but lately, the customer service sucks and it seems as if theyre are not trying to make good food like they used to before or make customers happy.

Love the variety of mexican products they have. They pretty much got it all. Each time we go visit oakdale, el toro market is our must to go store there

Most delicious chile rellenos in town !! I ordered 3 dozen for a birthday party and they were such a great hit! El Toro told me they would have them ready for me at 9:30 A.M. and they sure did! Great place for authentic Mexican Food! Next time you are contemplating on where to eat a good chile relleno, you must try from here.

The best and cheapest place for masa and it has the best old fashioned meat counter, the deli is also #1, want a great burrito or anything else this is the place to go, everyone is so helpful and its very clean!

Walk into El Toro Market and youll get the feeling youre in another country. I was hoping I wouldnt need my high school Spanish class to order, but thankfully everyone speaks English.Great market with everything you need for your weekend Mexican cook-out (Carne Asada, Flanken Ribs, Pigs Feet) or walk over to the Taqueria and order it already cooked. Either way, this place is winner.

I went into the market and asked the guy behind the meat counter for 4 lbs of marinated beef and to please cut it up. He said no. So we looked at each other and then I just walked out. Very weird. I do not recommend this market.

The butchers really do help the customer with better service, the owners son on the phone, they completely ignore you. Nobody takes you into account, it seems that they only care about money and not customer service, it hurts that we do not have more Mexican stores in Oakdale. If they dont do something then people will start complaining elsewhere higher up ☝ and I hope they pay more attention to the people who help them keep their business going. If not for the clientele, the store would not exist
