I had a pool cover rope break that rendered our pool cover immovable. It needed to be repaired for peace of mind, since we have four young children. Bill with PPS responded right away and scheduled a maintenance visit as soon as he was able. The repair looks solid and we’re safely enjoying our pool again.

Performance Pools has done an amazing job for us ever since day 1. We are 10+ years owning our pool and I have zero complaints. I appreciate all the service staff from the Burnsville store to each of the service techs that come to open, close and complete weekly chemical checks on my pool each year. I would also like to single out Bill W as he has gain my trust and faith each year as we have worked on water balance levels to ordering new updates to my pool. My pool continues to look great each year and we are ever Thankful for our decision to buy a pool from Performance Pools.

Our pool heater died days prior to a pool party. The service department sent a person out the following day to repair it. The guy who serviced the heater took the time to show us the problem and how to mitigate the issue in the future. He also tested our water and treated our pool while he was here. We are so happy the heater is fixed and we didn’t have to change our party to a polar plunge (due to cold water).

We just had our pool liner replaced by Performance Pool & Spa and I have to say that if I could give this company more that 5 stars I would. From my initial point of inquiry with their service department to watching the measuring crew and installers make their magic, these guys just continued to impress. If you want to take your old pool and make it new again, Performance Pool & Spa is the company to choose.

I’m new to caring for my pool, PP&S has been a miracle. Their service team is fantastic and they’ve been so nice to me when I’ve had questions or concerns. They helped me get my pool started this year and they addressed issues that my old pool company ignored for years. With the help of PP&S I’m confident this is going to be a great pool season.

I have been a customer of Performance Pool & Spa (PP&S) (or it’s predecessor company Pacific Palm Pools) since 1974. During that time, I have had the team at PP&S design and build 2 pools for me, close my pool in the winter 46 times and open the pool in the spring 47 times. I had them install approximately 7 liners. They have also serviced my automatic pool cover on many occasions since it was installed in 2000. Finally, as part of a recent new liner installation, I had them replace my old fiber optic lights with new LED lights. I would say that PPS is one of the most professional pool design, build and service companies in the region and am grateful for the oasis that has been created at my home. The work I needed was performed, and done well. A few time projections were missed: it actually was done three days after I was first told it would be done. But, in a post-pandemic world when everyone and their piano teacher wants work done on their pool, this was relatively fast. All other shops seemed a month out. I’m happy with the job performed.

They had what I needed, including a pump strainer basket, but wish the staff had been a little more knowledgeable about how pump startup worked. Still, happy with the service and products.

We have been using Performance Pool and Spa to take care of our pool for 8 years now. They provide extraordinary and excellent service. I would not even think of using another company. I trust their advice, repairmen and pool equipment. They have come out at all hours of the day when we needed service most. We also have a robotic vacuum from them that was a game changer! Best customer service, great prices! We have used Performance Pool for the last 10 years for our large inground pool. They have provided exceptional service and responsiveness during that entire period. From opening the pool and cleaning the cover, to replacing equipment, and the awesome underwater close - its been a fantastic experience. And whenever we had a problem, they were always there to help resolve it quickly. Just a fantastic organization. Update of my initial Performance Pool review. They did a terrific job during sales process (Tom) and installation and then all I had to do was hire an electrician. Well my electrician made a mistake with the wiring and I called Performance Pools and Justin had me take a pic of the wiring. He walked me through everything and we got it changed in minutes and it turned on. There was a slight error code that came on and on Good Friday, Justin dispatched a service guy (Otto) who had everything working in no time.Incredible service and we were using the hot that night! From a guy that has used many other local pool/spa companies... buy from Performance ! Just wish I would have found them twenty years ago.

We have used Performance Pools and Spas for all of our pool needs for over 5 years. They have been wonderful to work with - from yearly closings to adding an auto cover and replacing our old pool equipment. The service department is very helpful in walking through the details of each project and the staff at the retail stores is very knowledgeable.I highly recommend PPS for all your pool needs.

Our hot tub died .. of course on a Friday at 4:00 and with outside temps below freezing. Performance called us back during off hours (emergency number response). Educated us on how to keep the pIpes/water warm til they would get here, and then sent a talented, knowledgeable, caring guy who got the job done under tough conditions. What a great bunch of people who serve their customers well and stand behind their work!

Update 07/20/21(updated from 3 to 5 stars):I went in today to get water tested, and a few other components. Again, the owner/GM was absolutely fantastic, and was incredibly friendly and helpful. Even carried out the chemicals I needed to my car.While my original review (below) holds true, I also understand the challenges in getting quality employees today. The owner/GM, certainly has exceptional customer service skills, and was very attentive to my needs.--------I have mixed feelings on PPS.Im reviewing the Oakdale location specifically.Pros:- They typically have chemicals in stock, opposed to online retailers.- On site water testing.- Quick ordering on pool/pump parts- typically very friendly and helpful, especially the GM.Cons:- While they have chemicals in stock, youll pay an extravagant premium for them. Theyll explain how their products or brands are superior to others at lesser prices, though if you have any common sense, youll understand that the chemical composition and the effectiveness of the chemicals are the only measurement of quality. As an example, 3-inch chlorine tablets (25lb bucket) will run you $125+ at PPS, while you can purchase a 50lb bucket, twice as much, for about $110 online. Same chemical composition, same fillers, same makeup. This is gouging.- The staff array overall at the Oakdale location is very young, like high school young. The inexperience in both knowledge and customer service can be very apparent and concerning.- I went into the store last week (early May) to find a robotic cleaner. Not only did they have the inferior Dolphin models (compared to other Dolphin models available) but that was it. No other brands that were shown to me or made apparent. I did substantial research from various pool expert reviews online, and didnt find PPSs models that were available anywhere. I was told by the store employee that the Dolphin models I was looking for (Nautilus CC Plus, for instance) was inferior. Do some research yourself, PPS. Not too mention, their margins for these robotic vacuums must be extremely high, not even close to online retailers.Ill likely continue to do some shopping here, as its close geographically and I can get items needed, same day. However, for a lot of other items, even chemicals, Ive slowly been moving towards using Dohenys, Amazon, etc., as the cost is substantially less, the value is greater, and shipping is quick.

We are first time hot tub buyers and went to quite a few dealers in our area during our search for the perfect spa for our family. We kept coming back to PPS in Burnsville. Tom in sales, and Blake, always answer our many questions about hot tub care and products and we always feel well taken care of. From downpayment to installation they were hands on, flexible, knowledgeable, and professional. And just friendly. We had the service department out this spring and they were very helpful in my many questions even though I know they are having a busy year/season. We absolutely love our Sundance! We didn’t expect to get a hot tub so soon but expect to have many enjoyable years with it and know we have PPS to help us out!

My pool pump would not start this spring. I called Performance and they suggested I take the cap off of the back of the pump and rotate the shaft with a pair of channel locks. It worked! My pump sounded awful after that.I asked for a quote for a new Pump and Filter. I was given an initial estimate of 2 weeks to complete the project, well it was done the NEXT DAY! Amazing service!

I am so grateful for the wonderful customer service that Ryan at Performance Pool in the service department has given me for so many years (our pool was installed 18 years ago). Whether it is returning my call to help me deal with an issue over the phone, or getting a crew out quickly to resolve an issue, I appreciate his willingness to go that extra mile to get me the help I need, especially at 5pm the day before a holiday (like today).

Awesome experience from the initial contact. They spent the time on the phone to walk me through everything I needed to know before they got there. They gave me a date for my pool heater install and when that date came they sent a very talented individual who was also very helpful. Afterwards, I had my pool heater up and running which was by far better than the other firms I tried working with. One of the other main things was they didnt draw boundaries around what they would or would not do. That was a relief compared to other firms. I will definitely use them in the future.

Needed a pump union, had it couldnt sell it to me no Sku number couldnt find it in the system to sell it to me. Wouldnt call the owner to figure out how to sell it to me. Purchased 2 on line one or back next time. My hot tub maybe has 1 of life left found a tube I like their but I purchase from someone else need to have a manager working if owner is available. Poor service. 10 part upset wasted 30 mins had part in my hand.

Weve worked with PPS for over a decade and they keep getting better! They just installed a new liner after the old one failed over the winter, got the system up and running ahead of schedule, and finally came by the same day when we discovered a problem with the automatic cover. They exceeded our expectations in every possible way! - Very grateful for their work and recommend them highly!

Used them for the first time this past summer - took them 3 weeks to come out to close our pool. The guys spent 15 minutes closing the pool and hot tub and then charged us $500! Overpriced and terrible customer service when we asked why we werent charged the combination package. The guy literally yelled at my husband for even calling.

PPS installed our pool over fifteen years ago. They have never let us down. They are very helpful and responsive to any issues that come up and usually solve the problems quickly. Highly recommend this company.

Its unfortunate there are less Pool service companies near me. PPS is over priced. PPS website states they can negotiate better prices due o the high fleet of service people, yet when I called them out on the cost they quoted on a pool slide they said I could get online at better prices than PPS. Two years ago a tech installed a new pool pump. The install didnt include connecting to electricity, when I called them on it I was told they dont do electricity. I paid north of $600 for the pump & install, which I could have got off line for under $200. I ended up having to connect myself. This spring, that pump went out after less than 2 years. The technician told me the pump is junk & they only last 1-2 years? The pump that was there originally was over 10 years old, but this new one lasted less than 2 years? He tells me he can replace with the same pump that lasted 1.5 years or up grade to one that was $2100 with 3 year warranty. I could get this same pump for $800. This fall they over charged me on closing the pool, because of added time to pump water off. They scheduled the closing on a day it rained!!! It was fully pumped off the night before. Will be finding a new service company for my pool this spring.

Very professional business, run and maintained by professional leaders and employees. Salesroom/lobby is very clean and well organized, staff is very genuine and courteous! They have very nice offers and discounts, and perform a quality job everytime they come out to the pool!

They installed my moms pool last year.They still have not put the fence in that she already paid for. Someone called and told her they dont have anyone to put her fence in so they will get back to her when they find someone. Typical company give us the moneyWill worry about the problem later. Just awful.Stop selling pools until you finish what you started.

We hired PPS to install a new pool at home 1 year ago. The salesman Nik did a great job selling us the pool. Then we never heard from him again after several attempts of emails and calls to get a hold of him. The people who installed the pool did a great job but left us with no information on how to operate the pool. We were offered our first pool closing for free but were then invoiced for it. We now have made several attempts to schedule a pool closing again, and we get no response. I would not recommend to use them if you are looking for service after the sale.

The lady who runs this place is absolutely crazy and rude. They began charging our debit card without authorization from when we bought a pool filter. The owner is crabby, immature and unreasonable and extremely unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and use ANYWHERE else but here.
