Nice Vegan food/drinks, clean unisex restrooms, strong wifi, and nice staff. We popped in here after being absolutely wrecked. We are not vegan, but my husband is lactose intolerant. All of these smoothies were automatically made with almond milk.We Got a banana mocha frappe, and a berry dang. The mocha frappe was easily one of the best coffee frozen drinks I have ever had. My berry drink was perfectly fine. The bathroom was clean and It looked to be very handicapped friendly with a guardrail and low seat. No changing table for kids but its not really kids place. Lots of seating and local art. They also had a very good fancy toast menu with jam and lots of avocado. This would absolutely be a place I would feel comfortable blindly bringing a vegan friend to and expecting great food.
If you love toast must try this place,it is so good. Avocado toast is my ultimate favorite, with its hot spices on top! Their butty banana dang is good also. O dont forget to get slice of their chocolate chip bread (vegan),so so tasty. We ate here at least twice a week but my roommate at least three times thats how good it is. Dont be surprised if the run out of Avocado toast, its very popular. Well enjoy Banana Dang,I do.
I’m obsessed with everything at banana dang and I’m totally ok with that😍 you gotta stop in on Friday or Saturday for the vegan donuts and don’t forget to try the dirty banana mylk at least once in your life! The seasonal pumpkin and ChristmasDrinks will rock your world but my regular go-to is the vanilla dang or nutty dang! Be sure to add espresso for your nutty dang it’s unreal. The owners are the absolute coolest, it’s by far my favorite coffee shop ever
The staff was very kind! The value was definitely worth it, most places will overcharge you for a small piece of avocado toast but their toast was huge! Bigger than my hand, and the bread tasted like it was baked in-house. The latte was a latte, simple and delicious :) cute place, I like it a lot. They even make these awesome bracelets out of açaí seeds collected from their blenders! Which make great gifts for friends if you’re visiting from out of town.
The first time going there, we were told only a few of the pastries are non-vegan, but everything else is. After being told this, my friend purchased one thinking it was vegan, but it wasn’t. They have a dairy allergy and broke out in hives. The second time, I asked the person at the register if they had any vegan pastries left. They said that all of their pastries are vegan. Their coworker had to correct them, and said that only the blueberry scone is vegan. I asked what other vegan pastries they would usually have, and this is when I learned that that particular pastry was their only vegan pastry. It’s pretty clear that some of the people working there have no clue what vegan actually means, which is kind of a big deal.
Mr Mario and the ladies are awesome! I love coming in and getting a turmeric chai and banana chocolate chip bread, delicious!!
Espresso wasnt bad. Toast with some toppings is a little expensive, though tasty. Smoothie I had was good but blended inconsistently with large chunks of banana.
I only ever get the drip coffee but its good every time.
Super tasty lots of vegan options fun little cafe to visit highly recommend for a coffee and a snack type breakfast
The best coffee shop in Oceanside hands down! I was in boot camp for 15 weeks and their coffee and vegan pastries were one of the main things I missed.
Their merch is so cute, i got the bucket hat that says dang because my last name is dang. the smoothies and bread were amazing
Fantastic crew, excellent customers, amazing selection of quality menu items and merch. So many cool things to try out. I hadnt the Banana Toast with peanut butter, crushed peanuts, sliced bananas and honey 🍯 Very good hearty choice. Next I want to try the tea selection and cinnamon toast. My favorite!!!
Such a cool and inviting coffee shop! Drinks and customer service was awesome too!
Loved the toast. I had Hot Mango toast one day and Chia and Honey toast the next. Coffee was good, but they dont have decaf, FYI. Service was very friendly both days.
I had a delicious blended coffee beverage. Cute shop right in downtown oceanside. Would go back for sure.
Ordered two over priced smoothies which where not even good, surf city in the mall has way better smoothies for a cheaper price. plus the staff was very rude and unwelcoming.very disapointed because i was excited to try.
Great mom and pop coffee shop with lots of vegan options. Friendly staff.
We love this place! Always friendly and accommodating service, delicious banana themed drinks and the coffee also stands alone as good coffee. Vegan baked goods are always on point as well.
Great service and they were great with my kids too.
Such a yummy and fun place. The coffee is tasty and I would have taken a photo of the banana toast that I had but I ate it too quickly because it was so good! Definitely recommend for the coffee and eats and the friendliness of staff. There is a counter that you can sit at that overlooks the street/sidewalk for some prime people-watching as well.
Its a cute cafe and the coffee is smooth and VERY good. Its apparent that this is a real coffee place based on the preparation methods (+1). Could easily have been a new favorite for me, as we love our coffee. However, I didnt find them to be friendly or helpful as the other reviews claim -- we pretty much had to speak to HIM first. No thanks, we are paying for this. The barista who poured over the coffee was cool though.
I dont know how we stumbled upon Banana Dang but it quickly became our favorite coffee shop in Oside. The owners are super-friendly, funny people who serve up a mean mocha, and more. Their smoothies are delicious and even come dirty (with a shot of espresso). Their toast looks yummy but I am gluten-free so I stick with their selection of gluten-free items. They also offer a few vegan items (they work with local bakers). The paintings adorning their walls are painted by local artists and for sale. The vibe is always upbeat and fun with a selection of music that is never the same. You can take your coffee to-go in a recycled, recyclable cup (very earth-friendly here), or enjoy it in the shop, in a cool Banana Dang cup, and challenge a friend to a game of Chess, Tic Tac Toe, or Connect 4. Big fan of their t-shirts and stickers, also.
I was staying at the Fin and walked by this place and popped in just to check it out and I was pleasantly surprised. I got a purple dang smoothie yesterday on my way to go hiking. It was super tasty! I went there this morning to grab breakfast. I was told yesterday by a local that once you have Dangs coffee its hard to go back ..I would have to agree! Unfortunately my home is in Canada. Haha.I got their mocha this morning. They nailed it!I also got there nutty banana toast. It was on whole wheat bread with loads of peanut butter, bananas and honey. Yum! For myself it was super filling and Id probably share one the next time Im in Oceanside.Great service, everyone who works there seems happy and are smiling. If you are in Oceanside I definitely recommend this place!
Love their smoothies and when Im eating gluten, their cinnamon toast takes me right back to childhood
Got a gift card from a friend to come to Banana Dang. Great little coffee shop. Hand drawn menus which attracted me for sure. Baristas were very friendly. Clean place. Got the their amazing Nutty Banana Happy Toast..very yummy. Toast is large Texas Toast!!!! Vegan options available too. Great smelling coffee! Definitely a great place for family with kids! Check out my menu pics. Come support this awesome local business!!
Had a delicious drink (Banana Mylk) in a calm environment! Love it
Loved the smoothie I had there with my sister
Cool place, great coffee. Went on a Thursday morning it was not crowded.
Banana Dang is a local treasure! The owners are super nice and the coffee and smoothies are something I crave on a regular basis. Try the nutty dang smoothie with a shot of espresso for a filling start to your day. Lots of vegan options with oat, almond and soy milk. The walls are decked with original artwork and the whole place has an awesome banana-meets-punk-rock kinda vibe.
Been here a few times. Its def hit or miss.
Great smoothies and the toast they have is a meal in itself
Stopped here between the gym and work. I ordered the golden chai and crunchy honey toast on rosemary bread. Its a combination I didnt know I would enjoy so much. The chai wasnt grossly sweet like most chais I order. It could have been more ginger-y (only because I like to feel the spicy heat of my chais). For the toast, they covered the cream cheese and honey with an almost solid layer of chia seeds, which made it so much easier to eat in the car (it kept the cream cheese from getting all over). Everything tastes freshly made with real ingredients as opposed to the processed food and drink recipes from the chain coffee shops.
I love supporting local businesses! This place hasnt let me down yet. Order from uber eats all the time to my work. My entire office is hooked. Toast to Thai tea... you wont be disappointed.
This is a really cool little coffee spot I found while traveling in the area for work. I wanted a nice iced mocha and some thing delicious for breakfast. This place more than met my expectations. They have a variety of avocado toast and breakfast options. It was quiet when I first arrived but there seemed to be a steady stream of customers popping by. The ice mocha was delicious and really pleasing to the eye too. I liked how it was served in a chunky glass with a handle - that was a bit of a unique twist. There’s a few tables to sit at but most people seemed to be dropping by to pick up and go. It was a quiet Sunday morning and there was plenty of parking options close by either right outside or on side streets within a very short walk. There is a the banana theme to the store with t-shirts and other items and some cool info on why they are a bit fanatic about them. If you’re in the area and looking for breakfast or a coffee, highly recommend checking out banana dang coffee for something a bit different in the Oceanside area.
Im sitting at Flathead lake in Montana wishing i had a banana dang chai latte in my hand.
One of the coolest coffee shops. Espresso is great and they have some cool smoothies. Definitely a great spot to grab a coffee and walk the pier.
We stopped here on our way back from Huntington Beach to San Diego, and chose this place based on google reviews and did not disappoint. My son had the matcha banana smoothie, I had a matcha latte and my husband had the cold coffee, But my favorite thing was the hummus toast with almonds and sun dried tomatoes. It was slightly spicy and absolutely worth the $.
Didn’t even have a chance to try it. We walked in and one person ordered ahead of us. There were two sets of people waiting for drinks and four employees. We waited at the register for 6 minutes without placing our order before we left.
Their smoothie are awsome...
Honestly cant say enough good things about this place ntn but luv
Yummy toasts, great coffee! I enjoyed my breakfast.
Excellent coffee and plenty of vegan light breakfast options served by down-to-earth baristas inside funky digs. Banana Dang doesnt try too hard to be cool; it just is.
Food and drinks are great! You get a lot on your toast that fills you up. New favorite place to come to for early morning pick me up.
Nice place to get something good
I love Banana Dang!
Visiting from Phoenix 🌵 over the labor day weekend and found this place with awesome coffee. I grind and brew at home so when I find a shop that does coffee well I have to give props!
Stopped by on a drive through Oceanside, and honestly, very disappointed in the coffee. This is a very quirky shop, with odd preparation methods for their most basic coffee. I got the plain black iced coffee, no cream no sugar. The initial taste is alright, however, there is a peculiar, fish-tasting aftertaste. Would not recommend the coffee; $4 per cup and lower quality than some other, cheaper coffee places.
Yummy..they are open. Masks required. Order and wait outside..totally worth it. Get the special toast!
It smelled heavenly in there.
Friendly welcoming staff, yummy coffee. I had a delightful pour over. I brought my two kids. 3.5 years old and 15 months old. There were a bunch of toys for them to play with and tasty smoothies for them. Good vibes all around.
Awesomely cute place with an amazing pour over
The drinks and snacks are great....but the whole feel of the place, the employees, etc is really....bland? its like theyre all on quaaludes or severely depressed or something.prices are a bit steep, but again the drinks are tasty.
Really nice independent coffee shop. Nice people. Great atmosphere. This place is what the big chains wish they could be like.
Good smoothies just very Overpriced..... $9 for a small smoothie??? Won’t be going here again
Great smoothies! Unfortunately there is only one size they give you and it’s pretty dang expensive, would like to see you be able to order larger sizes other than the normal small size cup for 8 dollars.
Super coffee/smoothie spot! Was looking for coffee and some vegan snacks to munch on and they delivered!! Great service and vibes all around!!!
Banana smoothies were great! I split one with my 3 year old, who loved it too! We also had fun playing with the wooden games on the table and looking at the art on the walls. I imagine this is a fun place to study. Its also a great spot to bring the kids for a quick treat. We will definitely be back.
Coffee lovers dream!!! The coffee tastes amazing and they have a great selection of food items as well. I really like the almond butter toast. The store is filled with artwork and makes you feel really comfortable. Staff is always friendly no matter how busy they are. Truly a stop you have to make while in Oside.
Great place to grab a smoothie or coffee and converse with your pals. Just randomly stumbled upon this place and was pleasantly surprised. Great decor and music all day.Ill be coming back. The staff was very nice, though maybe they could have talked to me a bit more.
Favorite thing to get is a Dirty Nutty Dang with oat milk and hemp protein. Service is great. Everything here is vegan, but is enjoyable for non vegans too. They have paper straws which are great but not everyones thing. I bring my own cup if Im having it to go and they give you a discount when you bring your own so thats nice. Great place thats delicious and kind to the earth.
This review is based solely on the happy toasts: Daaaaang! They are delicious. We tried the Bombay Toast (it was bomb), the Crunchy Honey (sweet Heaven on Earth), and the Green Fire (zavocado perfection). Its rare that I find myself unable to choose a favorite but I cannot choose the winner among these three very different menu items.Well done, Banana Dang! We will make this a regular morning spot when we come into town. I cant wait to try the other menu items!
Great local place for coffee and fun toast. Relaxed staff, mom and pop shop, the owners often seen behind the counter. The main thing to try are the smoothies! Dang good! Can be pricey, let’s just say I’d go here every day but it’s just to expensive. So that’s the lesser star.
Special coffee choices, authentic smoothies, and a small menu of quick, delicious breakfast plates. It is a cozy, home-style coffee shop for singles and short family visits. The atmosphere is comfort food for the mind and taste buds. Highly recommended!
Came in for the first time today . Love the place Perfect green tea latte . Better than the big chain and I also loved my avocado toast . Will definitely come back again and recommend ! Thank you !
The problem with this place is that they dont have a large size. I want more deliciousness at a time.
Great food and coffee. Very friendly staff and relaxed vibe. Plus all the games that they provide to pass the time and have a good conversation.
I love this little coffee shop. They also make great smoothies. Grab a spicy mango toast if looking for something different to eat. People behind the counter are always friendly.
This place is truly amazing. I believe it is the only Specialty Coffee shop in Oceanside, where coffee is treated as a culinary art and crafted meticulously. Mario and his wife own the shop and are very nice people. Such a great addition to Oceanside. If you are looking for a coffee shop that produces coffee drinks at the highest level, look no further and give this place a try.-Jesse
Amazing food and atmosphere. Its a really chill place to relax while you have your dang good dishes.
The smoothies are great!
Cant say enough about how great this spot is! Every time I go the service is quick, the people are very friendly, and the food/drinks make my mouth water even after I enjoy them. I recommend Banana Dang to all my friends and family!
Neat little coffee shop with unique flavors as well as any type of coffee you would like. The place has lots of high stools and could use a couple more smaller comfortable chairs for older folks like me. Service was excellent and very friendly and helpful. I like the location of this coffee place right on Coast Highway.
Love their smoothies and their banana milk.
Chai and cinnamon toast was good, but took a while to make and a little overpriced. Cool place though! I would go back just to play the games
Being a coffee freak and finding a place that has blown my mind in flavor, is hard to do. However my boyfriend and i found it. The toast and coffee is amazing here. I wish they were in reno but it makes a good reason to come back and have the again and again. Thank you banana dang and keep doing what you are doing.
Love the sweet mocha, its not too sweet and the beans dont taste burnt. If its busy you may have to wait a little bit but I think its worth it. The pastries and toasts are delicious as well. So far everything we have tried has been good.
My favorite
