Big store. Clean, looks new in here, large products selection and great international food selection. They also have self scan and self check out

Okay I dont usually rate food stores, but talkin about the bakery staff specifically, I ordered a cake for my daughters birthday and they did an amazing job, they put a generous amount of filling, and, they took a little bit of creative license with the color of the frosting on the side to match the picture on the front, it came out amazing everybody enjoyed it and I was hugely impressed especially for the price. If you need a birthday cake thats going to come out delicious and beautiful for a great price this is the place you go.

I had a large wagon of groceries. The store supervisor or manager could have not made me feel less wanted. The store was not closed, they had all registers closed and only self checkout. My wife and I had a full wagon. You cannot self check out for a full wagon. Then they were angry because they had to ring up our groceries. I have worked in this industry myself for many years. My company would never treat a customer this way. If you dont like your job, then find a new one.

The store is very large and they do have some great selections. Prices were a bit high for the same products that are sold in other supermarkets like King Kullen which was surprising.Store card gets you a lot of money back though.Not sure if I would come back - cold cuts didn’t seem the freshest and some areas of the store didn’t seem the cleanest. That’s just my opinion though - definitely try it for yourself!

Easy parking. In & out quickly

Im giving this stop & shop 2 stars due to them having the absolute worst produce in the area. I have never purchased lettuce or kale that has been fresh or crisp. I almost think they age the lettuce in the back before they put it out so its soft and mushy. There is always a line at the deli. I only go here if I have to.

Great grocery store! Also, I lost my phone there and an employee named Justin W. was incredibly kind and professional, and helped me find it! Great customer service.

I’m new to the neighborhood so I’ve been going to all the area supermarkets to try and find the one that stocks all my regular items. I would say this one probably is the best. My only criticisms are that I feel like the aisles can be organized in a better way and the signage that they have at the end of each aisle could provide more information about the items in said aisle. Right now they only describe (I think) four different types of items when there really should be at least double that to give a more accurate idea of what can be found.

This store is newly renovated and it is nice! Vert spacious allowing for plenty of social distancing which is now a very real thing!! Everything looks fresh and delicious. I didnt need any help but there were lots of employees around if assistance is needed. Tons of snow now so the parking lot was a bit cramped. All in all good experience!

It is a store I come in all the time. I came in today, seems like the store is changing a whole lot. The checkout line was very quick. The girl who checked me out was a trainee. The trainer was beyond friendly! The prices are rising but that’s understandable! Thanks again Liza and Lily!

It was the day before a winter storm. There was a line to go in, and a longer line to leave. I picked up some fried chicken, bananas, cheese and milk. The fried chicken blows away the stuff that kfc sells.... Prices were ok.

Clean and well stocked in most aisles. Lines were long but went fairly fast, especially if self checking out. I liked the scale in the produce section that allowed you you weigh and price sticker what you had, saving time at check out.

Very clean and well kept store. Great staff. Thankfully the toilet paper, tissues and other out of stock items are long since back so no aisles of sad empty shelves😁

I am very annoyed with this store. I am EXTREMELY patient with the lines at the deli counter as well as EXTREMELY respectful to the employees. I POLITELY ask for boars head brand cold cuts and KNOW that is not what I receive. One of the meats I got was so repulsive, my dog wouldn’t even eat it. Being a college student and living alone I don’t have much to spend on groceries so when I don’t get what I ask for and have to throw it out I do get quite upset. I don’t care about your stores brand cold cuts, I want what I ask for and that’s what I should be getting. After this being the 3rd time happening, I will not get cold cuts from you again.

This is a great tucked away place to shop. Very well organized for covid protocols also. The employees are always helpful.

Called to order up a couple of fried chickens and pick up cole slaw and cooked shrimp. The chickens were set aside for me, perfectly cooked. Cole slaw was really good, hard to find with just a little mayonnaise. Shrimp were large sized and on sale.My good friend came over for dinner and ate like a king, stayed over before leaving on a drive to his home in FL. Got a text next morning that he made it to SC the night before, and enjoyed the dinner tremendously.Stop & Shop did a great job.

The customer service was bad his name is nelson. Would not recommend him being in there. Accusing customers about something like what happened to us. We bought an ice and he gave us an attitude. Very bad service

I am unsure what is going on in the Atlantic Ave. store in Oceanside, however it’s a nightmare! The apparent reorganization makes no logical sense whatsoever. I live in Atlantic Beach and purposely drove to this store since it opened because it was an absolute pleasure to shop there. I have used Stop & Shop for as long as I can remember and now feel as if I have no other alternatives but to look for another store. So dissatisfied and disappointed.

Was an okay store until they reorganized the store for no reason. I understand you have to renovate it but they just moved items around and removed signage just to alienate a customer that has been going here since they opened.

My complaint is not pertaining to the store or quality of the product . My complaint solely pertains to the customer service manager at this location, Libby as well as individuals that work at the customer service counter . The manager was highly disrespectful,and rude, passing comments to me using inappropriate language. She should not be working in a customer service position where she will deal with your customers who keep your store running. The other individuals at the customer service counter were also highly disrespectful. Especially in today’s times you should have staff who know how to treat their customers in a more respectable manner. After my experience today I will no longer be shopping at this location after being a customer for at least ten years. My family and friends will also no longer shop at this location after learning of my experience . It’s sad because there is so many good people looking for a job. I’m disappointed in Stop and Shop for hiring staff such as Libby who treat their customers in this manner.

Bought Cod at the seafood counter and it was so bad and just vile. Not the first time rotten seafood @ this location ..should have know better. I sent an email after I openedtrying to get a refund as were all struggling these days..never heard back... only standard auto reply. Oh well....live & learn...

So many better places to go food shopping

It seems like they are almost always under-stocked; meat department almost non-existent. I dont know what happened to Stop & Shop, and its not just the Oceanside, NY store, but I only go if I absolutely have to go.

Nice huge stop and shop supermarket. Definitely my favorite of the 3 we have within driving distance. Much wider selection, no issues with parking and the bakery items always seem fresh.

The fruit as well as the bagged salads go bad after 24 hours. The food isnt fresh and the staff in seafood and fresh cut meats are LAZY. They make you wait or I literally have to call store manager to get assistance and they will be starting you in your face and dont want to work.

Store was in the middle of total re-organizationn nobody knew where anythg was moved...otherwise store normally ok

My favorite supermarket!

I used to really love this store. However, the meat department has gone downhill. Everything seems to be shrink wrapped & not fresh. During the early stages of COVID, the order ahead deli wasnt actually slicing & gave me Boars Head pre-packaged(days old) meat. I always use Scan It to avoid lines & limit interaction. I went today, spent about an hour shopping, & was told that there was 1 line for both self checkout & cashier assisted checkout. Said line was wrapped around dairy aisle & through the meat section in back! How does this make any sense? Why wasnt this made clear upon entering the store? I left my cart & walked out because I have better things to do with my time. They also had delivery trucks blocking the entrance/exit. Called manager to put in a complaint. Needless to say, theyve lost my business until they get it together.

Didnt like stop & shop a few years back, meat section was not very good with Beef stamp from Canada, from Argentina, I dont need a place where meat is not from the United States. Just took a stroll through a stop & shop a few months back and was talking to a guy that works in the meat department, told me they dont do that anymore that was a few years ago. So I bought some meat USDA and then rediscovered to stop and shop. I also like their Customer service department, easy returns no questions, no unfriendly looks like some other big market chains.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve bought salads that are not expired to eat that night just to have to throw them out. I stopped buying meat here long ago, but I need to find a supermarket with fresh produce. It’s definitely not this place.

This Stop and Shop is a very organized store. My shopping experience was pleasant. Shelves are fully stocked and sale items were displayed nicely for purchase. I live out east and shop at the Hampton Bays store. That store never has sale items available to the end of sale week, and shelves are found poorly stocked. Management must try to have a continuity with respect to products available one week and then gone the next. Having to shop at a second store for items I cant get at HB store.

A very large store. Because of that it may look like they do not have everything, but they do.. with a few exceptions. I go to this one often.

They have a great selection of fresh groceries. Great place to spend your money. I recommend them highly!

Some doors were locked and could only use one set of doors. They have changed where everything is. Not happy with the changes.

It has what I want and the people re more personable here then at some other Stop and Shops. So I have to say its a better experience.

This is a huge, very clean supermarket. There is a huge appetizing section, a fresh fish department, and a bakery. The shelves are filled with a large variety of food, including canned and packaged. The cakes from the bakery department are delicious. They are light and fluffy. The fish (some of the items are expensive) is very fresh. The meat department is filled with a lot of variety, including kosher items. Great place to shop for your bar b que. The prices are very reasonable. There is always an ongoing sale on select items. The staff is very helpful.There is a huge parking lot, with a lot of complimentary parking. I have shopped in this store several times. Very accommodating.

This store is usually well stocked, with fairly good prices on produce. The meat, seafood sections are solidly on par with other area stores like Key Foods, King Kullen, Best Market.What sets Stop and Shop apart is the system of scanning your loyalty card at the door, getting a scanner gun thing. If you bring your own bags, you walk around the store, scan the barcodes and put items into your bags you have spread all out in your cart. Then when youre done, press the checkout button on the scanner, after some calculations it displays a bar code. You scan this bar code at the self serve teller, proceed to do whatever payment method, and walk out. The pain in the butt of waiting in line and bagging things done!

I love this super market. This was my first time in there and its so clean and organized. Great sales and easy to find items.

I live in Long Beach but go out of my way to go to this specific Stop & Shop. It’s large, clean, easy to navigate, and is well-stocked. I prefer this location to the one in Long Beach (which is awful) and the other location in Oceanside.

Best feature of the place is that there is a basket with free bananas or cutie oranges when you walk in the door for kids to eat. Note: its for kids. Other than that it is just a fairly normal grocery store with nothing exciting to speak for it. They have everything you expect to find in a grocery store (unless youre used to Wegmans) and thats pretty much it. Every one Ive been to is understaffed at the registers though they have plenty of self-checkout lanes if you prefer those, Im not paid to do their job for them so I dont.

Plenty of merchandise a great selection they have a great healthy aisle and then produce department is beautiful. The only thing I complain about is the cooked prepared chickens are over over baked and dry. They have plenty of registers and the checkout is quick plenty of parking

ON MY LAST VISIT, THE FRESH CORN WAS NOT FIT FOR THE GARBAGE. Otherwise, its a nice market. NICE MEAT.Made another visit on June 25th, same crummy corn. Advertised Coke was not available.

Clean, bright & big. Huge selection of brands. Wish their organic section was bigger and that they had more local organic farm produce, but better than the S&S stores in LB & on LB Rd.

On January 14,2018 I was driving out of the parking lot of the Stop & Shop at 465 Atlantic Ave, Oceanside, NY, when I had my car crashed into by a stack of shopping carts that were being pushed by a Stop & Shop employee. There was minor damage The stack had so many carts the employee, by his own admission, could not stop the momentum of the stack when he saw my car pass in front of him. I asked him to get a manager. He returned with an assistant manager who brought the produce manager with her. She handed a note book and pen to the produce manager and instructed her to take my info. The produce manager asked what kind of info and was instructed to take my license plate, type of car from the registration sticker along with my name and phone number . The assistant manager then left the scene. After taking my name and number the produce manager was saying something like Ok we are done here, someone will get in touch you. I replied that I was not leaving till I had more info about how this was to be settled and that we agreed on the facts. I was instructed to park and go to the office. Inside the office was the store night manager, the assistant manager and the notes from produce manager. The store manager called a number to phone in a report and it turned out he incorrectly called asset management and was told he should be calling risk management. When he did reach them he had to repeatedly ask me the questions they were asking him . Questions like, what color is the car, was it the passenger side, was I the driver etc . All questions I believe should have been asked and recorded at the scene, which, by the way, was right behind the managers office. After the phone call I had to ask for contact information and case #. Finally I was told that this will be handled very quickly and I shouldnt be surprised if I received a phone call that very evening. Its 4 days later, I havent heard a thing, and I am in limbo about what is going. I am not upset about my property being damaged but I am furious of the way this was handled by the manager & asst manager. I will not shop at that store.

I like this store except i go there for the cooked eggrolls but the last couple of weeks they have not had any and when i asked about them i got a run around
