I stopped in for a snack and coffee. I ordered a cold brew and almond scone. The cold brew is strong as it should be. The scone was good but not great. The environment is pretty cool. Good background music. Books and trinkets available. Definitely LGBTQ and Christian friendly. They support the local community. The day I visited 10% of sales were going to a local elementary school. I love the heart of the place and will be back for sure.
Great place to meet friends or come by yourself. Prices are extremely reasonable. Enjoy a book or buy a book too!
Friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Grade A coffee. The hazelnut drip is to die for.
We had a great experience here. Barista did a fantastic job accommodating special dietary needs. All the drinks we had were so good, we had seconds.
Very nice space with cheap lattes. It wasnt my favorite latte but the price felt very affordable.Service was polite but not overly chatty. The first time I went they refused to serve because they were having a service (which was fine, wasnt a big deal).Located in the old market. They have a parking lot that you can pay to park in right next door along with the usual meter parking in the front.
Super wonderful place to go. Very accepting and GLBTQIA+ friendly
Absolutely an amazing place to relax drinking a coffee. Their book selection is the best.
Great smoothie. Nice sitting space.
What a cool little spot to find while visiting. The lavender and honey latte was delicious and I love the necklace I purchased.
Not a great experience. wont come back
Great coffee and super friendly staff. Huge missed opportunity to name the place Downtown Abbey, though.
Great coffee and staff
Great community.
Staff is always nice even when they have a full house. It has a good feel to it.
Such a welcoming atmosphere. Only place Im willing to go to get coffee anymore. Also the white chocolate hot cocoa is to die for.
Stellar service great atmosphere and the banana bread is out of this world. Definitely a great coffee shop.
The atmosphere here is amazing! The books are diverse and wonderful. The staff is so kind. Its just an overall beautiful place!
This place, and its generous smells, and kind smiles, fill me with joy AND much-needed caffeine!!!!!!
This is a gem. The atmosphere is really pleasing. Like many good coffee shops nowadays, its cozy, quiet, and peaceful. However, the staff are friendly, courteous, and down to earth. The service was excellent. We had a expresso and a midnight blend. Both were strong and tasteful.
Always great coffee. Great people.
Great environment for coffee, diverse books on love, spirituality, empowerment, etc. Diverse array of books for children as well and a childrens play space. Excellent meeting space for orgs that look to do good in the world.
This was our first time going. We went to the communion service and got coffee after. We loved it. Everyone was very kind and we plan on going again so our daughter can learn about God.
If you dont look like a middle-class American, this place is not for you. Although they do let you stay 10 to 15 minutes you will be asked to leave within 15 minutes about the first 5-minutes you are there. This even applies if you bought a drink or snack.
Such a cute coffee shop! Such a homey feeling upon entering, the decor is fun including the furniture. Part of the space is a bookstore with cool gifts to buy.Great natural lighting especially when I visited on a Monday afternoon in December as the sunlight filled the room.Lots of space to study or do work. I think its also a great place for a date or light conversation. The coffee smelled good but I didnt get a drink because Im not into coffee. However, I indulged in their fair trade chocolate, which was fair price and tasty. Restrooms were clean, friendly staff, what more can I ask for?!
We visit Urban Abbey every time we are in Omaha. Great, welcoming staff and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
A lovely little place. A little short on seating, but it wasnt at all busy so it wasnt a problem. Coffee was really good, and some fun gifts. It isnt a top pick for me as far as coffee shops go, but it might be for you. Especially if you are into progressive Christianity.
Great place to study, read, meditate, or meet people. They have an extensive book store and good coffee.
What a gift! We’ve spent the bulk of the first day of our vacation in Omaha here in this place. The coffee was delicious (an Ethiopian light roast - maybe inspired by that first Ethiopian Eunuch captivated by the unlikely story of Jesus?).My partner in life spent a couple of hours browsing the beautiful book collection. They seemed to be specifically curated for her - so much more helpful a selection than anything an online seller could ever have come up with.More than anything tangible, there’s just a mysteriously marvellous mood or spirit in this space.Mmmmmm... Thanks. :-)
Cool looking place with fine coffee. Pretty disappointed that they were all out of sandwiches during regular lunch hours. Then the alternate option suggested by the barista was closed for the day. Bummer.
Wonderful coffee shop and bookstore with great staff. Highly recommended.
Great little coffee shop with wonderful muffins! Very intimate!
Wonderful atmosphere, great service, and amazing food/beverages! HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for a super cute coffee shop with a good mission.
Excellent little place to enjoy a quiet morning with coffee and reading. It had a small selection of food as well so you can have a bite to eat while browsing the books for sale. Its run by the United Methodist Church in Omaha and has ways that you can get involved with community outreach even if you dont want to join the church. For instance, there was a place in the shop where they were collecting toiletry donations for a youth shelter.
Nice low key coffee shop with a great inside layout. Offers books and a childrens area.
The coffee is amazing. Best roaster in town (beansmith). The atmosphere is good for studying and reading because it is quiet and not busy. Despite these 2 good qualities, I have been disappointed with the customer service the past 2 times I came in. I had to greet the worker first before they acknowledge me, and they were not helpful with answering questions. Two different people have 1 word answers and were rude and grumpy. Not sure if Ill come back and give them another try.
Great place for a cup of coffee and they give back to local non-profits!
Ordered a small hot chocolate. It was good but i think 3/4 of the mug was whipped cream. Took forever to get a sip of hot chocolate. Still pretty tasty
Great coffee shop, spiritual bookstore and inclusive Methodist congregation. Every beverage and book you goes to support local nonprofits. Right now, they are celebrating the wisdom of Mr. Rogers.
I love this place. The drinks are great and the service is better.
Love the atmosphere and the friendly staff. The dark roast coffee is wonderful. When in Omaha, Ill definitely be back!
Very uplifting. Rev deb always has a uplifting service
Very nice Christian place. Open minded and non judgemental. Very Christ like in their behavior.
Was there for a Friday night sing-a-long and was very entertained. The Abbey had great coffee, great company in a great atmosphere. Reminded me of an east coast coffee shop/book store with more than a hint of Midwestern friendliness. Well be back!
I chose to come to one of the services for a class. Everyone was really friendly and the service was centered around creating an inclusive community environment.
Very friendly staff, great coffee, dog friendly, and has a pretty good selection of books.
Best coffee shop in town, love the concept of donating to a different local charity each month.
Absolutely wonderful place, go grab a cup of coffee or tea and wander the farmers market on a sat morning.
Every month this coffee shop chooses a different worthy cause and donates 10% of their proceeds. In addition to that, the coffee is amazing, the people are fantastic and the book selection is unparalleled.
Looked like a nice place. Open but not serving at 11:30 on the Sunday I visited. Service being held. Religious I assume. Luckily there are other coffee shops nearby.
A peaceful place to visit! Delicious coffee for sure!
The caramel mocha coffee was nice.
Always nice experience especially when shared with my daughter!
Urban Abbey was a fantastic stop in the Old Market area! The setting was cozy and welcoming – a well needed retreat on a cold and rainy day.
Very friendly, positive atmosphere...see You all next time...Thank You.
Passing through Omaha, Nebraska and I can strongly say the Urban Abbey has the best latte in America I have only been here three days but you cant pass it up Will be in again before I leave
The place well kept, the service good, and the staff kind.
Urban Abbey is a progressive coffee shop, bookstore, church! All are welcome in this space!!
Great atmosphere and the coffee was delicious! The baristas were very friendly! Will go back!!
Very well kept, loved the ambience and the chocolate peanut butter banana shake really hit the spot
I came here to read, the chai was good, but 90% of the books were christianity related. I wasnt planning on reading religious literature early in the morning. But I found a very interesting book by Roxanne Gay about haiti immigrants in America.
Great service, good coffee and food. The people here are the bomb!
A very inviting place.
Friendly and welcoming staff. A place you feel at peace and rejuvenated.
Wonderful coffee, good food, great books and lovely friendly people. My first favorite place in Omaha as an Ohio transplant months ago and my go to place for delicious quick lunch and unique book finds.
Has df milk and contributes 10% back to the community. Lovely place.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff that always have a smile and a hearty hello when you walk in.
Always a warm, inviting environment. Come in to find a book, have a cup of coffee, study, relax or just good old conversation.
Great selection of progressive books, good service and chai with coconut milk
Good coffee and tasty pastries. I dont frequent the church, but it has a nice comfortable atmosphere.
Really cool local coffee shop. I recommend one of their chocolate and peanut better protein shakes!
Great coffee and books in a relaxed and welcoming environment!
Friendly service, great coffee, peaceful, quiet atmosphere, even on busy Saturday mornings.
Chill place to enjoy a cup of joe!
Walked into Urban Abbey expecting a coffee, but I walked out with a wonderful experience.
Good coffee, friendly staff, lots of politically correct books.
Love the staff and the atmosphere. Coffee with a cause.
Great Cafine boost, very peaceful place to relax
Great coffee place
Great people in a great atmosphere
Coffee shop, book store, meeting place for discussion and small church or political gatherings.
Very welcoming.
The best.
Best coffee in Omaha.
Cool vibe
Wonderful Oasis in the neighborhood
Unprofessional and left-wing biased.
Great atmosphere!
Not sure about this place.....
Warning: Jesusy
Great coffee, great causes to support.
