I have gone to Dr. Codner for the last 4 or 5 years and he has been awesome. They had one Saturday a month they were open for, which worked great for my schedule since weekdays are not an option under any circumstances for me.I think he may have retired, there is a new doctor there and they no longer have Saturday hours, so not sure what changed but I am no longer able to go there. I will rate this for how it used to be, and give five stars as I wont be able to go there anymore and need to find a new Eye Doctor.

Dr. Codner is one of those doctors that loves what he does; and because he loves his job he has passion about your eyes and helping you out. That means he takes the time necessary to get things done right the first time. He is also really great at explaining things and making sure you understand what is going on. I really love going to him and have for almost 8 years.

Ive gone to Dr. Codner since I was 13, and I have never had a single problem. Scheduling appointments is always a two-week-advance affair (unless it is an emergency) but the easygoing staff and relaxed atmosphere of the office and Dr. Codners professional, kind demeanor always makes for a pleasant and quick experience. So long as I live in Utah, I will always go here!

My experience in setting an appointment and having my schedule met all went well. Dr. Codner is a thorough Optometrist, and is expert at his craft. (I have been seeing optometrists for 43 years.)The office staff was pleasant and helpful. I ordered new glasses and sunglasses. I gave them my personal sunglasses to use for the prescription lenses because I like the frames I already had. This was on my first visit. When I picked up the glasses, all went well.Leanne assisted me in fit and finish and while cleaning up the sunglasses she found that the frames were cracked.Leanne was gracious and told me she would get me a new frame and take care of everything. I received a call from Leanne a couple of hours later informing me that since these were my personal frames that they were not responsible for the damage.I spent $200 on those sunglasses before having prescription lenses installed. Another $300 in the new lenses, and they are not responsible? Not once when selecting my glasses did Leanne, Dr. Codner or the others who assisted me inform me that if any damage occurred to my frames that I was responsible. In none of the paper work I filled out was I informed of this policy, nor is this policy stated anywhere on my receipt. I was only given a copy of my receipt and prescription when I left. All I am asking is that I receive the replacement frames gratis, or a refund. Neither of which they are willing to do.NO STARS!!! If I could.

It wouldnt surprise me if Dr. Codner is normally a nice guy but my visit wasnt as pleasant as I had hoped. I had my 2 year old son with me, since I had no one to watch him at the time. As kids are, he didnt want to sit still during my appointment and played around the room a bit while the doc checked my eyes. As a parent I obviously wish my son wouldnt be a hassle, but Dr. Codner should also be respectful. After all, this is Utah - hes bound to come across children in his office. He quite rudely and flat out said, Next time leave your kid at home. To make things worse, he gave me a weaker prescription for my contacts than what I was normally prescribed, so my vision wasnt exactly tip-top for a good year. And even THEN, haha, he prescribed Acuvue Oasis, which I love, but recommended I wear each pair for a whole month, when that brand is a 2 week lens. I was charged for a full year of contacts, given 12 pairs. At the doctor I previously went to, I was given the same brand of contacts, a years worth, 24 pairs like I should have been given and charged the same amount. Basically, I felt ripped off at Dr. Codners office, mistreated, and disrespected. Maybe he was having an off day. I dont know. All I know is, I wont be going back.
