So they like cats and dogs! Not a cat person myself, but I do take all of my small engine repairs to them. The lady at the counter is super nice, the owner can sometimes be a little short, probably because he has so many customers screaming for him to hurry and repair their stuff that he didnt break. I have several mowers, tillers, pressure washers etc.. Yes they are busy, but they do great work and are very reasonable. I have also bought parts from them, nice inventory. Also, I have a Craftsman Riding mower that someone backed into it and ruined the hood. This place has some old mowers and I was able to find a used replacement hood that he let me have cheap. I recommend them to anyone needing repairs, just set the expectation up front.

I read the reviews online and was concerned that I just dropped off my dead Coleman CT200U off at the wrong place. Man, was I reminded in the lesson of dont judge a book by its cover.Yes, there are cats and dogs in the building. Who cares?!?!When I received the call from Shirley saying that my bike worked I was stoked. I went down there and checked out the work that Nate did and WOW I was blown away by all the small issues that he fixed over the 4-5 days they had it. I had to take it back a couple of times because the chain kept falling off, but Nate and Shirley were always polite and hospitable to me. My sons even get excited to see the cats and dogs in the shop. I would recommend Small Engine Specialists to anyone needing work done. Just talk to sweet Mrs. Shirley and the mechanics there will take care of you.

My experience with them was not the best customer service was horrible. They had our item from may till August and we still had to take it back. I went there one time and the man said he does work ordering to importance. Me personally I wouldnt refer no one to go there. Just my experience

I really wish I could give less than 1 star! This place is AWFUL! I would spend money buying another ATV than wasting my time here. The owner is beyond rude, zero customer service skills! They had our ATV for 4 months and didn’t communicate with us about it at all. Every time we called they were ungodly rude and when we went up there because they wouldn’t give us any answers the lady at the front just pointed at the owner and didn’t say a word to us. He immediately was rude and started gripping. When you take in someone’s things YOU work for THEM! Period. It’s the customers money that pays YOUR bills, sir! I will NEVER return and will encourage everyone I know to stay away from this place! He has a sign up that says “Dear customers, be nice or leave” when, in fact, HE is the problem! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

Ok Ill admit there are a lot of cats and the place is rough around the edges as others have pointed out. They tell you upfront it will be several weeks but they are affordable and were quite kind in my interactions.

Little old guy in there has 0 customer service skills. Then out of nowhere explains how his “50 years of experience “ makes him right! Literally told me all my equipment that I purchased from SLE WAREHOUSE is not commercial! I literally got all commercial equipment except for the hedge trimmer I was overcharged by him to fix. Trimmer was 198.00 need carb. He charged 40$ for carb and 50$ for labor. The part literally takes 15mins max probably quicker with 50 years of experience. Wouldn’t recommend my dog to go there. Btw they are literally raising cats and dogs! Cats on counter and stray dogs at front door, this place is horrible!!

Don’t use this place the owner is very rude and they charge you a fee of $75 to just tell you what is wrong with it I took my riding mower here because it wouldn’t start after the winter I was told about 2 weeks after 6 weeks I finally got a call from them said I need a carburetor and fuel filter the price was $ 400 I felt like I had no choice at this point didn’t want to pay a fee for them to tell me that then have to take it somewhere else’s and starting over. After looking online the carburetor for my mower was $50 and the fuel filter was $8 so that means they were charging me over $300 for labor I wish I had listened to the reviews! I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone there ripping people off and very rude in the process.

Bought a riding mower at this place. We had trouble with it on the very first weekend. If you use the mower more than 20 minutes it slowed down dramatically. When we tried to get it repaired the owner refused to honor the warranty. He became very loud and argumentative. Just about had to call the police. DO NOT RECOMMEND. WILL NOT STAND BY WARRANTY. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I rarely post ratings of any kind. When I do, I have done my best to measure/consider the impact my comments might have on a business. Thats my preface because I would like for the reader to take my comments serious. That said, I strongly do NOT recommend this business. Like so many have said before, the customer service here is atrocious. Let me narrow that by saying, the individual-that I assume is the owner-just does not get it and does not care at all. Now, I dont have to be catered too or coddled by a service provider. However, I do expect common courtesy when spending my money. I will not return because of my interactions with this singular individual. We had a very aggressive conversation regarding how long they had my property without any type of follow up with me. When confronted in person and asking for my property back, he refused to give it to me. After searching for my service ticket....wouldnt you know it, the mechanic was working on my property and would have it completed within the hour. Really????? I waited, paid him, and got out of there without losing my cool. In a positive way, the interaction reaffirmed that anybody can be an entrepreneur! Of course, you will not stay in business long with service like this!!!

Please be ware of this place!! I would not even classify this place as a Business surely not a Specialist. I purchased a Go kart for my grandson Dec.23rd 2018 .He rode it twice in 3 months I was with him the whole time riding it normal he was actually afraid to go fast. The second time he rode it for about 5 minutes and it died I returned it the end of April I picked up in June along with a $240.75 bill.He supposedly replaced the motor. Im out $1250.00 what can I do but get it repaired. I have returned it 3 times since it is now the transmission it has not been rode over 5 minutes since the new motor. I just picked it up again today 9-3-19 it is still not fixed and the owner told me to get off his property and take it up with the manufacturer. Today after i got home im checking the certificate and it says it was made in 9-18-2016 . Please do not get caught up in this man racket!!! Ive been in business for over 40 years and understand customer service very well. Dave cant spell it.

If you’d like repair work done in the year you need to mow, I’d seek other repair shops. If you can afford to have your mower down the entire summer, this is the place for you.They never have drivers, mechanics are always behind, etc. Good luck!

Took my sons Razor dirt bike there at the beginning of the summer. I was told it would be ready in about 3 weeks. Not ideal but not a big deal.It wasn’t ready for 3 months. Every time I called, I was told they were almost to it, and I’d be receiving a call in the next day or so for an estimate.Edited to add: the “repair” lasted 2 weeks. Terrible business. Wouldn’t pay them to straighten a paper clip.

This is a great repair shop with great people. I do not take care of my mower the way I should and from years of neglect it went kaput last year. I didnt think there was any hope and was expected to be told to get a new one, but the guys here brought this old machine back to life and with their suggestions it started this year on the first try! I now go to them for other repairs and have found them nothing less than professional in all areas.

I stopped by on my lunch break to get some parts for a mower and a blower. Dave was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. He even took the time to remove a bulb from an old carb since it wasnt on the shelf. He got spark plugs for me and even ordered the springs i need for my mower. He took all this time to help me for such a small order. Very good pricing. When i told him not to worry about search and ordering the springs he still insisted.Do yourself a favor. Whatever you need, get the model number of your equipment, take it to Dave, and be done with it. 5 stars without a doubt.

This business is definitely trustworthy in regards to fixing broken products. My issue was with my go-kart that had been sitting in my garage for about a couple of years. The issues included: Rusted gas tank, poor carburetor, and the steering wheel. Now, I was skeptical at first due to poor review rate but, I took the chance anyway and, I am now happy with the results. The employees were great, as well as the mechanic himself, a very straightforward guy. Their prices are inexpensive also, their skills are undeniably great. Keep in mind, these bad reviews was probably conceived out of anger towards this business because of the consumers own fault. I highly recommend this business, if you are in need of repair for your broken machinery. So, I do appreciate you taking the time to read this review and, I hope it was helpful.

Wish I could rate less than 1 star. Stay Away!!! Took a trimmer to the for a warranty repair due to broken spark plug wire. 4 months later Im still waiting for them to finish the broken crank that they found during the repair process. Parts were on back order and then still has been 3 weeks since they confirmed the parts were received.

Multiple trips and $500 dollars later, I had to take my zero turn to another shop to have it fixed. Customer service is terrible and non-existent. Owner blamed me and his workers until he realized he is the one that messed up. Definitely would not recommend taking anything here and if you decide to anyway, make sure you got what you are paid for before you leave.

I would give less than a one star if I could! WORST PLACE AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER COME IN COUNTER WITH!!! My husband brought an old lawnmower up there and this man wanted to change and charge a bunch of stuff that he didnt ask for. This is after he had it for at least a month! When my husband told him no he then wanted to charge $75 dollars for NOTHING!!! Called it a service fee! There is nothing on the invoice nor did he mention this! The lawnmower isnt worth $75. Now he sent a bill saying that there is a $5 per day storing fee and after a certain amount of time or he will sell it to pay for the repairs. YOU KNOW WHAT, KEEP IT!! YOU APPARENTLY NEED IT MORE THAN WE DO! YOU NEED TO LEARN GOOD BUSINESS ETHICS!!! DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING HERE, EVER!!

I have an Ariens zero turn that had apparently had a failed lifter in summary. The performed all my general maintenance along with the internal engine repair and adjustment for a shockingly low price. Cant thank you enough! Highly recommend and will use for all my small engine repairs!

I took my weed eater to Small Engine Specialist at the end of April to have the string fixed that was broken. After 2 weeks of not receiving an update regarding my weed eater, I called the store and was told, Theyre about to pull it and start working on it. Two more weeks passed without my hearing anything from the store. When I called yesterday, again, I was told Theyre about to pull it and start working on it. Fed up with how long it was taking to repair my weed eater, I decided to go to the store to get a face-to-face update. When I arrived, I told the lady working the counter that I just wanted to pick up my weed eater since its taken a month for you to even begin working on my weed eater. The lady had an attitude as if she didnt want to give me my weed eater. I will NEVER take any of my property to this store for repair. They held my property a month, continually lied about the progress of the repair, and acted as if they had an attitude when I wanted MY property back. Poor service at its finest!!!!!!

I took my mower to them on March 29, 2017 and on May 12, 2016 44 days later I picked it up and they had not done anything except drain my battery. All it needed was a pto switch, 20 minutes is what it takes to replace. Thats not even mentioning their lack of professionalism.

Do not bring anything to this place! Im assuming I was speaking with the owner of this broken down shack when I went to pick up my push mower that had been there for 21 days and not even given an estimate. Absolutely the worst attitude of any individual Ive ever come in contact with. They also require a 20 dollar non refundable deposit. Also if you do go here make sure you here how far behind schedule they are I didnt get that info but when I called the next week later the owner rudely replied its only been here a week! Terrible place horrible experience

I have an 18-year-old Craftsman riding lawnmower that had been sitting unused and immobile for 4 years. So I asked around to find out where I could have it fixed. 2 people I asked, recommended Small Engine Specialist. I was still very apprehensive about hiring someone to work on my mower. My concern was that I would be told FALSELY that my mower ( simply because of its age and having sat up for 4 years) needed major repairs that would be very expensive. So I decided to do as much of the maintenance, such as changing the air filter, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, and spark plug myself. When I priced around at Sears and other online merchants, I found that Small Engine Specialist had the lowest prices on most everything I needed. Shirley was kind enough to take down the part numbers of the items I needed, check to make sure they were in stock, pull them, and hold them for me to pick up. When I picked up my items, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Dave. He overheard me say that one of my back wheels was missing the square key ( a $3.00 part.) He said, Let me guess. You removed a rear wheel to have a tube put in the tire? I said, Yes! How did you know? He said, It probably got lost by staying stuck in the wheel because of the grease. Then when the tire change place put a tube in the tire, the square key fell out, and they discarded it, not knowing its importance. Dave voluntarily told me that my mower would be immobilized without BOTH square keys in place. I was thrilled to hear that, because that was the reason I had been unable to use my mower for the last four years! I was afraid that I would be FALSELY told that it was the transmission, but I didnt see how that could be the case, because I remember that the mower cranked and ran just fine, before the wheel was removed for a tube to be put in the tire. Dave said, You would not believe how many people that happens to, when they take their mower tires to a tire change place instead of bringing them to us. We know to watch out for square keys and make sure that they get returned to the owner instead of discarded. Small Engine Specialist truly is a one-stop-shop for: mower batteries, blades, blade sharpening, regular maintenance, repairs, putting tubes in tires, etc. They do it all. The fact that the owner was honest enough to tell me that my transmission was probably fine & my mower just needed the square key replaced to get the mower moving again, convinced me that I could trust them to do all of the maintenance for me & NOT have to worry about them padding the bill with unnecessary repairs. Also, unlike some repair shops, they will do only what your mower really needs, instead of fabricating a long list of unnecessary repairs, just to get you to buy a NEW mower from them. I liked the fact that not only do they do free pick up and delivery of mowers, but they also do a very thorough service check on all components of the mower every year that it comes in for service. This is so valuable, especially for single women, so we can have the confidence that they will catch any issues before our mowers leave us stranded with no way of cutting our grass. Once my mower was finished, Shirley called me to let me know. I requested to speak to the mechanic that performed the labor; Ashlan came to the phone and patiently answered all of my questions and concerns with a great attitude. Every time I called with questions, Shirley and Dave also patiently answered all of my questions and concerns without rushing me off the phone. Dave has a vast reservoir of knowledge about mowers and does not mind giving helpful advice and troubleshooting help to people like me, who like to do some of their own maintenance at home to save money. Michael was the gentleman who delivered my mower back to me. He was kind enough to honor my request to give me at least one hours advance notice of his arrival. He was very polite and patient in answering more questions. Everyone Ive dealt with at Small Engine Specialist, has been very pleasant to do business with.

Unprofessional selfish careless. I Took my Ryobi tablesaw to get worked on which was under a three-year warranty . And Dave the owner made it very clear that he did not want to have to work on it although he has a contract with Ryobi to do their warranty work and that I should go and purchase a new one even though the one I had was under warranty. One ofThe most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard. He told me it would take six months to Fix. after I called a few times I was able to go and pick it up finally after about five months. He did not even want to plug it in for me originally before I left so that I could hear it run. When I got to the job to use it it began to smoke and make loud noises and vibrate violently. I returned it once again as he attempted to convince me that Roby would not warrantee it although it is steel under a three-year warranty . However, IConfirmed by Ryobi that they Did still have it under warranty. It was evident he did not want to do the work on it and was just lazy about it.This guy acted like a caveman that Did not know how to speak to anyone. He is certainly not a businessman.He is self-serving and He is just looking to make a few bucks. This guy has no moral ethics and is careless with no regard for others also does not know how to speak to other people With no regard as to what the next man is going through in life.and was obviously has some deep-rooted issues and harboring some serious stuff emotionally. Seems like he’s always eating. ThisGuy acted like a immature teenager over the phoneAnd in person. But once I get there I demanded my tablesaw and he told me that he had put it in the Scrap bin around backAndtold me to go get it.Calling The tablesaw names like stupid and that he did not want to deal with it anymore . Seriously, I did not bring you my soul to throw it in the trash bin.I demanded that he did it he hung his head and had it brought to the front. Just got held up so much progress for me keeping my tablesaw for so many months and making no progress. And I was polite to him up until the day I want to pick it up. I had to take the law in there with me because I didn’t know not know what was going to happen.I wanted to grab this guy and shake him silly. However I had to play the big brother role because one of us were going to wind up in trouble dead or in prison if I did not bring the call police there with me to pick up my saw.Discernment, something this guy doesn’t have. The conversations I had on the phone or unbelievable and I cannot stress to you till I’m blue in the face just How far to stay away a way from this Man and his Mickey Mouse shop.I was very kind to this man and it takes a lot to upset me but he really pushed me over the edge. I’ve never been disrespected and spoken At like thatAnyone I’ve ever done business with. I own my own business and know that this is not the way to operate. This may need to Jesus seriously. If you respect Others and expect It In return. Disguise attitude is going to get some and put in prison or dead. I promise

This place is so rude & lacks professionalism- I could go on & on. Ive never left a negative review for any place of business. But this place is beyond terrible! I dropped off my sons electric Razor scooter for repair. I called weekly for an update on what they had found wrong with it. Left my name & number every time I called. I never received a return call. 4 weeks later, I finally reach someone & they tell me they need the charger to look at it. He was SOOOO rude & short with me- he acted like he was trying to hurry & get off phone with me when I was asking him questions as to why I hadnt heard back from them- he rambled about how busy they are. Seriously?? Why didnt they call me back to tell me anything? Needless to say, I went & picked up the scooter for someone else to repair it. They SHOULD NOT be a center for Razor product repair.

We brought 4 wheeler to be fixed several months ago. They repaired it but it still has trouble starting up. We brought a lawnmower a over a month ago- took too long- they explained that they were working on Walmart mowers and work was backed up. When they called back the cost was going to be about $100. We said no and told them to keep it. The reason we gave it up was cost as lawnmower was only $120. When new. This company does need some improvements in management.

!!AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!Do not take your equipment here. They do NOT do quality work. One star rating is one star over-rated. Not to mention the quality of employees working there; the two I met in the shop and the one I talked to on the phone are quite the stooges.I took my unit to be fixed because it had water in the engine. The first time I tried to crank my engine after I got it fixed it would not crank. I had gas dripping from my exhaust so I tipped it (slightly) to see how much was in there since I saw it dripping and gas poured out. The oil was very light brown still... as if it still had water in it and its been in my garage the entire 2 weeks or so Ive had it back. I called to explain my situation and the @$$**** that answered kept interrupting me while I was trying to explain my situation saying that Id have to bring it back. I dont think so dude... I should have read the reviews first. Theres a reason you have such a low rating. *(Which I also mentioned and he stated that he could care less about reviews and ratings ...but has defended every bad review because he knows it effects his business.)* Your customer service and your engine service is septic quality. I dont trust you to perform your septic service even with your B.S. 90 day warranty. Your dishonest business (from other reviews and my personal experience) would find something else to charge for... $180 to remove water, add fresh oil and for it to not even crank? Really guy? Where did you learn to do engine repair, Sesame Street? The business location is also TRASHY on the inside and out... that says alot about you and your business and quite frankly your attitude isnt any better.Even the day I was trying to get directions to find this shop, which was off the road and behind another business, i was getting a sour attitude from the girl that answered the phone. Took weed eater in for fuel line replacement. Was told I would be contacted when ready. After 6 weeks I called and was asked if they called me and when I said no they said it wasnt ready. After 3 months I went to pickup and was told it still was not ready waiting for parts. I SAID TO JUST GIVE IT BACK AND THEY REFUSED UNLESS I PAID 12.00 SERVICE FEE!! I was told they would call police if I did not leave or pay. 2 weeks later they called and it was ready. Please do not patronize this so called business.

DO NOT GO HERE !!! I took a go cart to this man and asked him to do a walk around and give me an estimate . He did 275 dollars worth of repairs without my consent . Got the go cart home it did not run properly . I took it back I had to fix the seat belt and brake pedal before he would work on it . He said he fixed it but I would have to use starter fluid to crank it .. Long story short he took advantage of me and took my money and the go cart still doesnt work that was last Christmas 2017
