We went to Clayton Homes of Pelham yesterday for the first time. We were greeted by Wendy Brayer. Let me just say I will never go back there again. The first thing she did was pretty much tell us how high everything was and show us a board, explaining how many of the homes have deposits put down on them. We asked about land packages and were told that we would need to contact a realtor to be pre-approved in the first place, which we already know and already have been pre-approved. The whole time she was discouraging us from buying saying she wants us to know the facts. We’ve been looking to buy for over a year so we are educated on “ the facts” already. And you can be honest without being rude. I wanted to leave almost immediately, but didn’t want to be rude myself. She showed us a few trailers. It was just uncomfortable. When asking about VA home loans she said in the 10 years she’s been there one has never gone through, which is fine, thanks for the info. Then proceeded to ask us why we would use a VA loan. Why would we not? There are great benefits to using one if you can. Anyways, I acted like I didn’t want to waste her time when in reality I wanted to get away from her. When leaving she said we could come back when it’s not so hot and we can think better. Who says that?We have been to Clayton homes in Clanton several times and staff is always so courteous and helpful. It was just a negative vibe in Pelham and I don’t understand how she thought speaking to anyone like that was appropriate.

1st time homebuyers would highly recommend them we dealt with Dustin Myrick through the process which he was simply AMAZING everything was short simple and sweet

Found our first home to buy! I thought it would be harder to find what we were looking for but it wasnt! They have a decent selection of mobile homes, single and double wide. What I like about Clayton Homes is that you walk in and could never even tell that youre in a mobile home. They have everything from 3 to 5 bedrooms with spacious rooms and huge master baths inside. The customer service was on point and if you decide to go, I definitely recommend asking for Kyle. He is very knowledgeable and gives you a chance to look around without hassling you. So far, so good and even though we havent bought our home yet, I definitely recommend Clayton Homes in Pelham.

Kyle is great! I can be a pest about things but the people at Clayton have been pretty patient with me. Only issues Ive had are weather related delays but they have dealt with those and gotten a lot done in a little amount of time.

If you buy one of these homes, expect it to immediately become a liability! During delivery process, walls fell down, I had water damage, all the molding was hanging loose. All the exterior siding has deep waves. I got the state involved in my attempt to have these things addressed. They came out and made an assessment, but when that was done, they basically said they couldn’t force them to fix anything. Pay careful attention to detail. Door plates, plastic toilet seats, raise the windows, molding, unfinished interiors of closets, just to mention a few. Better yet, if you have a choice, never but a mobile home from this place!!

We were told over the phone that we could come in to discuss building a modular home with multiple options. After traveling to meet with them we were advised that their “modular homes” are simply trailers on foundations.

I love that they have several set up homes for you to view.

Very cheaply built. Trying to get a repair tech out is like pulling teeth. I will never buy a Clayton home again. JUNK
