The place is a bit dated looking but a decent place to get some range time in. Staff are typical gun store types- serious but helpful IF you have a basic clue, so do research BEFORE walking in with 3000 silly questions and youll be fine.Ive gone here many times, alone, with shooter friends, and beginners to help them learn proper firearm handling and range discipline. An experienced shooter with your own ammo will have no problems. A lone beginner might have some issues with the learning curve because there usually isnt a range officer right there to help, so bring an experienced person with you. Prices on guns are a bit high- expected for a small operation like this, but sometimes youll find a good deal, so shop around.
Best range in the city .. good prices . Workers be cool in there just don’t be on no bs because they will get at you but they cool long as you chillin
Honestly the best range in the area. Does it need some renovations sure, but range is great. The staff was friendly and made the environment fun. We will be returning regularly. Seriously a great time
This place is great! I’m seeing some negative reviews which I very much disagree with. These people are great! Customers must understand that this is a gunshop and rules apply to them, can’t have it like you make up the rules. Staff is great and respectful! You must know that if an employee corrects you with something, don’t get all upset about it. They are trying to help you...
Very nice ppl and very informative. I will be back to purchase a firearm through them
Do not recommend. Been here about five times and every time my experience was worse then the last. Even since before the ammo shortage they we expensive. The guys that work there are super arrogant and not helpful. A lot of the time they are rude and no sense of customer service. Plus $160 for a indoor range that isn’t even open late is outrageous.
I’d give them a 0, but it’s not an option. I understand Covid-19 is a thing, however customer service is key, maybe they were nasty because I was a black but who knows these days. Covid restrictions that are made known to the public for most common things, not a gun range. The restriction of having to make an appointment is asinine and I had no idea until I read it on their door. So I left my residence, thought I could come shoot my weapon so to see the sign, walk in and ask questions and get the smug attitudes from a man and a woman running the place and that did not have masks on. Picture that, but it’s Covid19 restrictions.
Awesome placedefinitely will be returning
We have gone to the Range twice, and both times the staff has been great. I bought my son a gift certificate for Xmas and the guys were great in finding me an empty ammo box to put it in to wrap as a gift. My daughter who is Army came with once and loved it. Very professional and helpful. Will definitely be going back. The only suggestion I would give is for them to put up a website with all their prices, rental fees and times so that people could look up the information instead of having to call.
Just bought a gun a week ago. Was told it was new. When I got home I noticed it was used. Never again will I buy from here.
Walked in while talking on Bluetooth. There were signs on the door BUT!! because of COVID, I just thought the signs read, COVID protected, no mask no entry...didnt know/read no cell phone. Store clerk BARKED at me about it. I apologized and said he didnt have to speak in such a tone. He BARKED again about sign on the door. I apologized again, told him to have a nice day and in a nasty tone, he said you too. I walked out. This shop must have OLD MONEY and does not need NEW MONEY. I wanted to purchase 2 firearms, ammo and MEMBERSHIP!! HA!! THANKS FOR THE NASTY CUSTOMER SERVICE! and this was my FIRST TIME THERE. NEVER AGAIN. I went upon recommendation. I RECOMMEND NO GO THERE.
First and last time here. They let people who smelled high in to shoot. They were helping me fill out the application and telling me how to answer certain parts of the form. They also aren’t fairly priced in my opinion.
I had called double tap for 3 weeks straight, every other day, to try and make a range appointment to abide by the new rules. For 3 weeks no one answered the phone and I could not make an appointment OR even leave a message in hopes of a response. When I walk into the store there are 3 people standing in the lobby doing nothing, and one employee watching the range. I have a yearly membership and spend hundreds of dollars on ammo/targets alone a month. I loved the laid back and trustworthiness of this range, and the awesome price. But I will not give my money to an establishment that will pick and choose when to do business, or just blatantly lie to their customers. If I ever get in contact with the range we can discuss the review.. well see...
Bought a pistol from them about a month ago. Was told it was new. Went to go try it out at the range & they offered to clean & oil it up for me. The guy was very experienced with guns & let me know that the gun was not new & was a moderately used hun. He also told me I over paid buy a couple hundred dollars. Disappointed & won’t be back.
Good spot to shoot!! Never a wait and they have reasonable prices!
I’ve called to schedule appointments for the range 4 times since the pandemic started and they always picked up don’t know what those other reviews where talking about. Came in to purchase a gun I knew what I wanted they had it,filled out the paper work, background check, and I was out the door in less then 15 minutes their prices are always fair.
Kinda dingy not well lit but staff very professional felt safe while in my booth
I used to go to this range all the time right before the pandemic hit. I have been calling and calling repeatedly to figure out hours and regulations... I finally got off of work early today and decided to stop by and shoot for awhile only to be told I need an appointment. Another 2 disappointed groups of people walked out right along with me! They never answer the phones and act surprised when you weren’t made aware! I used to love this place and will be taking my business elsewhere until they get it together.
Great place for practice. Anyone with a negative review on this range that has anything to do with ammo prices is a first-time-shooting crybaby. Ammo is expensive. They let you bring your own. You can only shoot brass JUST LIKE EVERY RANGE for good reason. Good people and a great time 5 stars all day
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SITE, they have a very unprofessional staff, they speak too loudly to people, especially the woman they have in front of them, even having Appointment they told us we did not have it.
Cool place, I just wish there wasnt a shortage on bullets
Never answers the phone and when they finally did after 4 calls said i cant bring in my little brother to shoot. Suppose to be his birthday present and they act like i dont know my basic gun safety to bring him in.
This place USE to be great. Now they have no respect for people. It use to be Always friendly, nice atmosphere. Went there last week to take a look at another Pistol and got the worst service of my life. Rude, ignorant sales person, acted like he’s superior. (Not Frank himself) It’s Such a shame as I liked this range and it was close but will take my business else where.
Great space, fair pricing, good location.
I went in today for a private lesson with myself and my son. I explain to them I have little experience with a weapon, and the guy just tried to hand me a gun. I set this appointment up on Monday for Wednesday. Got there only to find out there was nobody available for an appointment. I walked out disappointed
Great place. Highly recommend. #VoteGold #2A
Very rude and treat you like trash, will never call or go again
First time shooting here today, with my son. Great environment. Friendly and knowledgeable. Place is kept very well. Everything is in working order. Definitely recommend this place to new or experienced shooters. We will definitely be back.
I wanted to get a new glock 19 willing to order it ...The owner told me 650.00 and if I wanted a go it would be more ..I want to tanners and payed 552 out the door. This guy is just Ripping off 1st time shooters.go somewhere else you will be happier.
Bought a Springfield Armory XD 45 online from Buds and they were the FFL where I picked up the piece. Very friendly and professional. They even offered me free access to the gun range to gest it out. Highly recommended.
This place is soo unprofessional it make no scenes guns be broken over charging for ammo and they attitudes is very nasty they are rude people I will never go back or recommend anyone
I’ve been here about four times, all within in two-months time. The range itself is fine, kept in decent shape. For any serious shooter, this place is not for you. The staff is very unprofessional-constantly cursing in front of customers. The “Range Officer” who dresses like a literal cowboy doesn’t do his job by watching typical range safety. People not keeping their firearms pointed down range, walking around freely with firearms, people pointing their firearm at the ground to make sure it’s clear instead of pointing downrange, and the few times there was a cease-fire and the “Range Officer” has to go down range, people are still at the bench fiddling around with their firearm or magazines. This place is unsafe and needs to tighten up on safety tremendously before an accident happens. $20 for unlimited shooting is nice but you get what you pay for and it is never worth gambling anyone’s safety. I will no longer go to this range and I would not recommend to anyone who has experience with firearms. This place is an accident waiting to happen.
Love the range don’t come there if you’re soft
Highly recommend this place if you know how to shoot. $20 and you can bring your own ammo, shoot all day no rush. Nobody breathing down your neck hassling you to purchase their stuff. They have ammunition and guns to rent if you need them. Friendly and experienced staff willing to help get you shooting. No Ak’s or steel ammo allowed, but other then the other basic rules that every range follows. The best place to shoot in the city.
Good place to shoot. Lots of help. Easy parking and access.
The lady was nice, and she was patient! I am a undicisive person and she was kool with that! And that means so much in times like this! #thelittlethings#
Just purchased membership 165$ I call everyday to schedule 20 mins of solo training they claim the lanes are fully booked everyday i drive by there and theres two people in there so once they get the money from you dont expect to shoot at all Once you pay the member ship they have you on the hook and no longer need you business.
I call to ask a simple question and get attitude as if Im messing up your day?! What type of unprofessional establishment is this. Im asking you questions about spending my hard earned money and you think its ok to act as if Im bothering you?! Completely disgusted Ill but my membership somewhere new customers are appreciated!🖕🏾
My son and I have been going here for a couple years now. Never had any issues and the staff has always been helpful. Id certainly recommend to family & friends.
Staff was nice. Very helpful.
The owner can claim that he didnt say certain things, but he got filmed saying it. I dont think hes necessarily a bad guy, but he shouldnt be selling guns if he thinks we all need medical checks to buy them. If buying guns without a check is wrong then he is operating immorally by his own admission.Go to another store. One where the owner has better ethics.
Great experience....Courteous and knowledgeable !
Had a great experience. The staff was amazing both on knowledge and disposition. They made me feel very comfortable. Prices are great. Range was as clean as expected to be. Will probably see you there i love this place
Very friendly,and knowledgeable
Staff was friendly and didnt give us a hard time. Shooting range is nice, cant complain.Prices are a bit higher for some of the guns/ammo comparing to other gun stores in the area.Selection of gun rentals could be better.Otherwise, its a great gun store. I had a good experience with them and I would recommend them!
Very friendly staff - I have always been treated with respect. They allow rifles and shotguns in the range. The membership is a very good value. You can bring your own ammo or purchase theirs - wish has a very decent price.
The first gun range I ever went to. Pretty small but also pretty great... decent ammo prices, decent folks, decent range.Reliable and gets the job done, just like my 72 cal bolt action laser pistol. If you want to pop a few caps, dont know much about guns, and dont know where to get started, this is the place to be; they had me in the range and firing within 15 minutes of walking through the door and saying hi, Id like to shoot stuff. They also let me use 44 magnums, 22s, 38s, rifles, explained the differences, what stopping power was, weight, kick back, how to hold, how to aim, you name it, in a very friendly, fun and free (important last part) manner. This place kicks ass but doesnt take names. If you live in the north east and havent shot a gun yet, you need to go here; they will treat you like family.
Seem like everyone had an attitude wasn’t a good first impression
Actually had one of the guys behind the counter put his hand on his gun, because I said I wasnt going to spend $75 on two boxes of ammo and range time. I could see if I was yelling about it or seemed really mad, I but I simply very calmly said Ill just go somewhere else, those prices are ridiculous. For the guy who thought threatening me by putting his hand on the gun was the right choice. You should be glad I just laughed and shook my head. You should keep. In mind your customers might be armed and the next guy might take that as threatening his life.
Amazing place! Remember people as of right now they are open from 11am-3pm Monday-Friday.
I dig these guys. I find them very knowledgeable and polite. I got along well with the staff and will definitely return. The prices are good and there is nothing wrong with range. A+ in my book. Thanks Double Tap for being there. Ill be back.
Always a pleasure shooting at this spot ! Staff is amazingly friendly and definitely informative when coming across a new firearm ! Thanks to Hector I got my new toy situated and cleaned ! Definitely have to tip my hat to these guys !
Calling for days to make an appointment. no one is answering phones.
Vlad wassup its rob. The shop is very nice, they are professionals, and as stated you can bring your own ammo, or purchase from the shop. Nice selection on guns could be better certain items you may have to order to the shop but great experience.
Nice people behind the counter. And prices are reasonable. Got a membership and have been here a few times.
No range officer. Not climate controlled. No AC or HEAT. Wouldn’t recommend this spot for first time shooters. I’d also have to agree that the place is dangerous when there are a lot of people there. That being said. If you get there during off hours there are typically only a few people there. So there is a place for this spot when the weather is nice and the time is right.
Definitely great customer service. I had never shot handguns or an AR15 before and they taught me everything i needed to know. They were pretty enthusiastic as well. I paid for a rifle and hand gun and ended up shooting 2 pistols, a revolver, a 12 gauge shot gun and the AR15. All i had to pay for was ammo. Overall great experience and i learned a lot because of the staff.
Awsome Place! Went shooting for my birthday on 07-23-19 And the guys were nice the ranges were well litt and the guns were nice! Will deffinatly be there soon!!!
This place is super dangerous!!! If youre seeing 4 stars and up on reiviews. Youll notice theyre all new shooters who never shot before. So they have no idea how a real range is suppose to operate.Than being said, there is no supervision in the range. I had a group come up to me asking how to load and shoot a hand gun they had rented from the place! They were loading it outside the lane and talking with the gun in hand outside the lane. Also they put 100% markup on ammo. Bought 100 rounds of 22 for $22.... Guy with the pony tail tried telling me its because o bought ccis... Come on now, thats $10.
Highly recommend!!! Dont understand why this place has bad reviews . The staff is super friendly and really knowledgeable. Its also really safe. Had a great time.
Now there are mixed reviews from both sides, let me straighten things up, for where we are this is the best bang for the buck IF YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW TO SHOOT. $20 entry fee ammo is expensive like any other range, .50/ round but that’s every range again. No RSO I love it, I hate when I have an old man breathing on my neck watching me shoot like a Classic pistol, to My knowledge no local ranges have AC but this one is is much colder than CP so bonus too that. Super cool owners nice guys, always kept fairly clean. Just another bit of info NO AK47s again if you have an AK no AK47s due to people messing it up for the rest of us, it’s a small range good for sighting in guns, practicing. 10/10 from me good local range not too big and let’s you do your thing which other ranges usually don’t like
I like it. Recommend for practice.
Great staff, very informative for first time shooters. Able to rent ear and eye pro on site.
The range itself is ok; no complaints as far as that goes. You must sweep up your spent brass, which is pretty standard as far as ranges go. However, there are still a lot of spent casings on the floor whenever you walk in, presumably left behind by people who did not clean up after themselves. They allow you to bring your own ammo, which is good and something I look for in a range. The only complaint I have is the staff. Some of them can be friendly, some of them are kind of surly. Frank, the owner, seems to be a little moody. Sometimes he will say hello, other times he wont give you the time of day. A few times he has even asked to see my ammo that I am bringing in and has told me if you have shitty ammo, you cant shoot here. I have always passed the ammo test for lack of a better description. Overall, an ok range. Nothing high-tech, perhaps a little dated, but you can go there and do what you have to do. The staff there seems to be hot and cold, but Im not looking to be friends with them, so I basically ignore them on the days they seem to be in foul moods.
My first time at a shooting range, and it was memorable. I was in Philly for the weekend with my boyfriend and we were looking for a shooting range. We came across Double Tap on Google. Both guys that ran the store on Sunday had great customer service. We ended up shooting 5 different guns. Our stay was for 2 hours. Amo is sold at a good price, plus if you rent 2 different guns (hand guns/riffles) you dont have to pay the rental fee for the third gun (hand guns/riffles). You just end up paying for Amo.
Prices are high on ammo. Guns are a couple hundred over priced. Not a great selection of guns. No range officer making sure idiots dont accidentally shoot themselves/someone else. The attitudes are hit or miss. One day they are cool next day cranky. I have never been asked to leave like I see a few others have. You may bring your own ammo as long as it is not steel. You may also bring your own targets. Both pistol and rifle are aloud. Very short range so why bring a riffle. Based off of speaking to the owner(not the mentioned article) he is anti 2nd ammendment so I wont be supporting his shop often. More ranges need to allow you to bring your own ammo. I get other ranges are afraid of you shooting reloads because you might kill yourself or someone else. Other ranges make money off of ammo and targets. I reload and have been aloud to fire my reloads there without any problems. They do offer training. It is not well ventilated and lead is poison. Sometimes you have to wait for a lane to open. They do allow kids to shoot but because its unsafe I wont be taking my kids there.
Love it. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Very helpful. Prices on everything is fair. Frank is laid back.
Really liked the place and very good service. The prices also very good. I had alot of fun there.
Top notch range, helpful staff. I am experienced in this subject matter and I really don’t go anyplace else.
This place is extremely reasonable in their range rates. Its not fancy but, why would you need fancy to send lead down range?Staff is friendly enough.I like going here.
Great customer service, great atmosphere, helpful staff, family friendly, and was safe I recommend to go anytime, also can bring your own ammo
Love this place. Staff is always helpful and doesnt bother you about everything
Pistol shooting is fine, but they do not allow AK47s...yet they have ARs there and even rent them out. So why cant I shoot my ak?
Literally just called them looking for 3 specific handguns. very rude didnt care about sale. didnt even try to look them up for me. would not recommend.
I never shot at this range but both times I came by the lady at the front desk was very nice. I had a difficult time removing my muzzle break and they did it for me free of charge. I would 5 star if I shot here. Maybe one day I will.
Reasonable price. Staff was friendly. No complaints from me.
Love this place frank is a great dude just brought my frist gun from here, and took my parents shooting we all had a great time. Will most definitely be going back.
This place is DANGEROUS. I pray that no one gets hurt. One time i went and an older man shot side ways with a magnum and the staff didnt kicked him out. He stayed shooting and we left the place. I DONT RECOMEND IT
Range is in good shape. Guys behind the counter know what they are talking about. Nice place to shot.
Love it here great staff and good deals
Nice little range. The people there are pretty funny to joke around with which is nice because it makes it a little less uptight.
To hell with this place. I came up there yesterday, to introduce my friend to shooting. I drove ALL THE WAY FROM JERSEY to shoot here, and they only let me buy one box of .40 ammo to shoot in the range. I paid $20 for me and then $20 for my friend. NOT WORTH THE MONEY AND paying $25 for a box of PMC... ITS $22 and UNDER EVERYWHERE ELSE. They said I couldnt buy another. WHAT THE HELL? The man with the heavy russian accent at the counter was very energetic and didnt seemed interested in serving me at all.I wont be returning, I will be staying at my normal spot in NJ. I have been to Classic Pistol in Southampton, a MUCH better facility AND much nicer people working at the counter.0/10. AVOID THIS PLACE.
Family friendly & great service you can bring ur own ammo and great prices
Very helpful staff on hand at all time and the fact u can bring and use ur own ammo sets them from the rest
It was a nice place . I only stopped in to use the shooting range did not check any prices.
Safe and friendly range. Never too crowded. Owner have some greats stories to tell you.
I love this place. #1 for me. Ive been in many places but this one is the best.
This little shooting range is ok.. Little over priced for bullets but they do tend to run specials @ times.. Its a nice little spot to let off some steam if u come prepared...
Youre a sellout. How can you call yourself a gun enthusiast and think that to own a gun one must obtain a doctors clearance?
This place is great the guys are great as well very good customer service
I loved going to Double Tap on August 29th I took my son there for the first time and he did extremely well firing the Glock 19 his first shot was center mass and Jacky was very helpful and informative I had my wife and daughter shoot there in the past as well as some of my fellow Fugitive Recovery Agents Great Place with reasonable prices its my range of choice
Frank runs a great range and shop. Very knowledgable, and reasonable prices. For a small shop, gre@t merchandise. Pythons, rare S & Ws, nice helpful folks! AAAA++++
Location is very good.! Like the owner and staff. Very good and informative
Not safe! No range safety officer. I have seen people pointing guns flagging everyone down the line. Not a very safe place to shoot. Enter at your own risk.
The owner is a foreigner who doesnt understand that owning a firearm is a birthright of every American. A right not subject to a doctors approval nor Governmental permission. We are at war with the Anti Second Amendment fruitcakes, we dont need a Benedict Arnold in our ranks. Especially one that owns and operates a store/range. Let this place wither on the vine.....
Great time ! I was a first time shooter and enjoyed every moment of it.
Nice little range to shoot at, Membership here gives you the option to shoot as much as you want as many times as you want for a year.
Reasonable prices, very knowledgeable staff... Can be crowded...
Friendly staff. Can shoot handguns and rifles. Membership is reasonably priced
I absolutely love this place and the men who work there as well
