A1 Garage Door was very responsive when I initially contacted them to get an appointment for a new garage door. Once the door was ordered, Ive had nothing but bad experiences. For example, It has been 5 months since the order - and I still dont have a garage door installed! Ive had to call and ask for Status updates every month or so. (they dont call you). When I call, I often have to leave a message, because no one is around to answer the phones. My last status update (that I initiated) was on 10/07/2021 (22 days ago) where they told me they had the door, but they had no installers (in Boise ID) to do the installation. So today I called them, again, got their answering machine, left a message, and decided to write this truthful review.

These guys are professional and hard working. They stay until the project is completed and inform you in advance about the cost. In addition, they provide upgrades to the job if appropriate. They are great and follow up on there technicians.

Our technician Mario was excellent. I was out of town when the spring broke and he got it operable quickly for my family. Was back 2 days later to make a few adjustments. Not the lowest cost company, but great quality work and service!

Our mechanic was Nicholas L and h was phenomenal. I had booked with other company for earlier appointment and called A1 and canceled there’s. Very polite people. Was small thing with $$ but all good at end! These guys are great and we are very picky. Also have brother in law that’s a contractor so we know what is good and what isn’t. Highly recommend! A1 was awesome! Like all new build homes in Phoenix, we had a crapy Wayne Dalton spring on our door that barely lasted two years. Wayne Dalton couldnt come out for two weeks...so I called A1 based on their reviews. They had Justin out the next day and he did a fantastic job. He was very personable and knowledgeable. I will definitely be using A1 in the future!

A1 garage door service was quick to respond to our call when the garage door spring broke. They scheduled us for the next day. They kept informed as to when the tech would arrive. They called to ask us if he could come early. Our service man was Dallas. He was very knowledgeable and advised us as to replacing the spring but also the wear and tear to the cables etc. love the fact that their parts come with a lifetime warranty. Dallas was quick but through and very friendly. Would definitely recommend Dallas and A1 to everyone

The spring on my garage door broke yesterday (Sunday) afternoon. I made a call to A1 Garage Door and spoke with a very pleasant woman who schedule me for a technician to come out the next morning. Brandon called me and 8:00am and told me he was on his way if this time was suitable for me. He came right over and replaced the broken spring and a couple other parts that were worn out. He was quick, neat and very personable. He completed the job within the hour. As an added bonus, I was able to pay the balance in three equal payments over the next three months! Awesome! I called A1 Garage Doors because I couldn’t open my door. The people on the phone were extremely helpful and put a rush on a service call. They sent Patrick who kept me updated on his arrival. When he arrived he was pleasantly and accommodating and located the problem immediately upon inspection. He was understanding that I am on a fixed income and was able to fix my problem causing me the least expense. He was personable and knowledgeable and was very efficient in fixing my door. A1 Garage Door Service recently replaced the garage door and garage door opener at my place and I am very pleased with the quality of the door, the opener and the service. Dylan K installed the opener and at that time I asked him about getting a replacement door. He informed me about all the options and spent the time with me to help me decide. Following fabrication, Spencer did an excellent job of installing and adjusting the door and then Dylan came by again to check out the final product. Both Dylan K and Spencer are the best. They made the whole process simple and very satisfying.The opener is so quiet and the door (its insulated) makes a huge difference in the afternoon temperature in the garage. Its made a big difference in the look and feel of my place and I could not be happier with the service and information A1 Garage has provided (and will provide in the future).

We recently bought a home that had 15 year old garage doors and hardware that had not really been touched since original installation. I made an appointment online (which was incredibly easy) and Kyle E. was our tech. He did a great job evaluating the doors and figuring out what they needed and presented me with all the options. Ultimately we decided to replace the openers, rollers, springs, bearings, etc. Pretty much everything but the door panels were replaced. He got it all done on both doors in a short time and did an excellent job. He was professional, courteous, and very helpful. If I were to have one small complaint, it would be that the prices of the materials/parts was just a bit high. But, to know they have a great warranty, were installed by a professional, and the job is done right makes it well worth it. I would without a doubt recommend A1, and Kyle specifically. He was awesome! Thank you A1!

FRAUD ALERT, BUYER BEWARE. Beware this company, which apparently does business in many places, including Michigan. I needed a simple torsion spring replacement. Its is a simple repair job. which should cost no more than $250-275 for parts and labor. The A1 technician first tried really hard to sell me 3 new garage doors for $25,000+ (a silly number). Gave me a b.s. safety reason. I only requested a spring replacement. When I declined his offer he replaced the spring but fraudulently billed me for a special spring A1 paints red and charges 2-3X the price of a spring. He didnt even install that spring. He also replaced numerous other components that I did not request and which did not need to be replaced. A1 then sent me an outrageous invoice for $944.00 for the fraudulent work. I am an attorney and have handled lots of consumer cases, know cons when I see them. I am certain I am not the first and only customer subjected to the fraud I experienced. If it is not resolved promptly then appropriate legal action will be needed.

Charles came a few months ago to inspect my door and replace the rollers. He recommended that the springs, pulleys and cables needed replaced and showed me what he found. At the time I wasnt in the financial position to do the whole job.I scheduled them to come today. Charles came once again today. Charles presented himself in a very professional and competent manner. He got the job done in the exact amount of time he said it would take.After he was done he did a very thorough job of explaining to me the features of the new garage door opener and how to personalize the panel to my preferences.I will call A1 Garage door in the future, and request Charles if possible if I have further service needs.

Technician Devin McKnight was extremely knowledgeable about the situation we had (our garage door was stuck and would not close).He very thoroughly articulated why the issue had occurred and he provided clear information on how buying the patented product would prevent the issue from happening again in the future. It was evident he knew the companys products well and he felt confident about what he was recommending for us to purchase, in order to resolve the issue currently, & prevent the issue from happening again in the future.He was extremely friendly & professional, and he provided an unexpected show-&-tell style explanation to us during each stage of the repair process. This attention to detail really helped us understand why the door had quit working in the first place, and what our money was truly buying by purchasing the companys products.I would 10/10 recommend using this company again. I called A1 Garage Door Service (A1 is my go-to…. as always!!) and they were able to get us on the schedule ASAP.Jon came out immediately and he was great! He walked me through my options and the estimate prior to completion, and answered all of my questions. Jon then reprogrammed our system, reset our garage door openers and installed a new pin pad. This company came out to repair my garage and for a broken spring and cables it was going to be 700 for a 5 year warranty or 1000 for 10 year warranty. After telling the technician this seemed a bit unreasonable and I was going to look around he was extremely rude and pushy. He proceeded to say how prices are going up with COVID and my garage would be stuck up and not shut properly if he did not fix it now. I believe he said this because I was not physically at the property to verify if this was true or not and he knew I was on a timeline to fix due to it being a rental property. I knew he wasn’t correct about this and it did in fact shut which only caused me to question this company even more. While still on the phone with him I googled the springs he wanted me to purchase for 549 for “five year warranty” and told him I could find the same springs for around 200 dollars. He told me all the other springs were cheap and would never work. I told him I was no longer interested in him completing the work after dealing with his nasty attitude and bickering. Glad I did not continue doing business with this company because an hour later another company came out and fixed it all under 200 dollars. Do not fall for this sales tactics and overpay for their services.

So I had a new garage door with windows installed by these guys. One of the windows came cracked. The technician said he would get the replacement part and get something set up a couple of weeks later to install it. Well its been 3 months and I havent heard anything. I have tried calling, left a couple of messages, even talked to someone about it but I have not heard anything back. Now the company that serviced the loan for my door wants me to start making payments but the job is not complete. Im kind of at a loss on what to do so now Im posting a poor review. Maybe this will get me somewhere. I will gladly change if someone takes care of my crack window for me.

This company has no customer service skills, zero commitment and communication skills to boot!We have been waiting since August for an install SUPPOSEDLY!! HENCE HERE IT IS OCTOBER!Apparently they were to install the door the September 30. However.....I received a call back stating the technician was unable to locate my door.So far.. to no avail....no call back..still waiting for a call back as well as a door install.sadly I will NOT recommend this company to Anyone!

I called to find out if they service our area and they did. Did not know what to really expect, but decided to give it a try based on reviews/ratings. I am so happy I did.First the tech, Craig, came out and tried to fix our garage door opener. Thought he had it all taken care of but before he got through getting it all set and working it started doing its own thing again.Only option was to purchase a new one. Not something we wanted to do, but happy we decided on the one we could use our phone to close or open and check to see if we left it open. It is so quiet and now cant hear the door going up and down inside the house. Didnt want to spend the money, but unfortunately we had no choice.I would highly recommend this company as they dont leave you hanging. The tech was excellent and how he was able to put in the opener by himself was something to see.If you are looking for a company that is responsive and techs that are good at their job. You cant go wrong with A1!

When our garage door wouldn’t open, I called A1 Garage Door. They sent out their repairman Justin who quickly identified the problem and was able to get it working again. We mentioned we were thinking of upgrading our existing garage doors and Genie openers. Justin worked with us on placing an order for what we wanted and within our budget. The installer Jack was amazing!!! He arrived on time, installed our 3 new garage doors like a pro and even explained how to operate our new Liftmaster openers from my IPhone! Andrew R. came to service our garage door for a broken spring. From the first moment I met him, I could tell that he was just a high pressure sales man at my door. He might as well been wearing a plaid suit with a closing pen in hand. He gave us his sales pitch about how all the prices have doubled since COVID and how the cheaper option was pretty much for people that dont want to ever use their garage door but just look at it. The two options we were given were $700+ (5 year warranty) or $900+ (lifetime warranty) and we were pressured to make a decision on the spot. After I asked him to give us a moment to speak about it privately, we decided to just get a quote from him and look into other companies. When I mentioned to him that I just wanted a quote, he began his sales pitch again telling me that other companies are cheaper because they fix your garage doors with used parts from other peoples houses. He also rudely made additional comments like Dont you want your garage door fixed now? Why do you want to wait? I continued to tell him that I just wanted a quote because what he offered me was too expensive. When we went to tell his office that we were only going to get a quote, he magically came back to tell me that the price went down by $175. So because we really needed the spring fixed, we went with the now $530 option (5 year warranty). Andrew took apart the garage door and then told us we should replace all the wheels, tension strings, bearings, etc. for an additional $340. I advised him we could not afford that, just like I advised we could not afford the original $700+ quote. It was pitched to me like it was necessary and my garage door wouldnt work for much longer without the additional items being replaced. But as I advised him this was an unplanned expense. We are a family with 3 kids and just dont have the extra money. So he tells me, and I quote alright Ill SLAP it back together. Acting upset that we could not afford his up-sales. I was highly upset at him for saying that, it was very unprofessional. That made me feel as if he wasnt going to do it right and my garage door is going to fall apart at any moment because he said Ill SLAP it back together. We deal with companies that come and fix things in our home every year, never have I felt such straight up sales pressure on a repair job. I am sure the most important part of his job is getting the customer to pay the most possible which is usually is a Company issue, because he acted like his job depended on getting up-sales and not just doing a good repair job. When he was done repairing the garage door, he asked for reviews, referrals, and if he could put a sign in my front yard just further proving that his job is only concerned with sales. I will never be contacting this company again for service. Very bad experience.

Found them online. Got us in for an appointment the following morning. Devin S. was here for us right away. He showed up with a professional attitude and a courteous smile. Eager to help address the problem. Once I explained our situation he took a quick look and realized immediately it was our springs. Unfortunate for us to find out the brand our door is made by is no longer, so a conversion was necessary. As any customer we worry about the cost. Devin explained we had options available to us. My husband was not home so Devin was polite and patient enough to explain everything again to him over the phone. He managed to get us a discountand save us some money which saved us all together. We gave him approval for the work and he had everything done and working better than it did the day we moved in (11 yrs ago new build). He explained everything to me and was so friendly. Before leaving he asked if we would be willing to allow him to place a sign in our front yard representing the company and him. Without hesitation I agreed. I am so grateful for A1 Garage Door Service and Devin and I will be definitely recommending at every opportunity I get.

BEWARE THIS OUTFIT IN MICHIGAN. I know home repair consumer scams when I see them, I do consumer law.I had a simple standard garage door torsion spring replacement request. That is a couple hundred dollar repair. That is all I requested and all I needed. oN 9/25/21 an A1 Tech showed up and tried (with his Im just interested in safety line) to convince me to buy 3 new garage doors systems with all new frames, motors, etc. despite fact that I only requested a cheap spring replacement for 1 door. He wanted me to call his sales guy with him from my garage to do this and for only $1,000+ per month for 24 months same as cash. During his sales pitch he kept repeating an obviously trained and rehearsed speech. I know home improvement upsell cons when I hear them, probably the most abused type of consumer scams. I declined of course. So then he replaced the spring - which is all that was requested - but went ahead and replaced some other components that were fine and I did not request to be replaced. A1 then sent me 2 days later an outrageous Invoice for $944 with fraudulent charges (for a double-the-price spring they paint red and try to upsell to consumers claiming it is special - which was not even used for my replacement, for the unnecessary components replacement, and for more labor time than was necessary for the simple spring replacement I requested).I suspect I am not the first and only customer of this outfit that has been subject to this practice. This will be addressed in a legal fashion if necessary.

Matthew B came out to my residence to replace broken springs, he is friendly, courteous and knowledgeable . He also inspected all parts and found issues with the couple so he replaced them. Door spring broke so I called A1 at 6 pm. Jacob arrived by 8 pm and did a great job of explaining what he found and what he could offer to fix the system immediately. He also found that our 13 year old garage door opener was on its last leg and offered to replace it with a higher quality unit he had with him. Weve used this company I think a total of 4 times now. Twice at our old house, and then we just had them out for a second time at the new house today. Last time I did a Yelp review so I figured Id give them a Google one this time. We had called them out in February to install an opener we had bought from Home Depot (do not attempt to use Home Depots installation service. Ever. Just trust me) and the service tech actually recommended a different opener that was actually way better for pretty much the same price we paid for the other one (plus the install obviously). Then just today we had a whole brand new door installed. The tech today called me when he was 30 minutes away, and when he got to the house he went right to work. It took a while because it was just the one guy, but I had nowhere to go today (plus its like 150 degrees outside!) I unfortunately cant remember his name but he did an excellent job and our new door looks great! Since we now have a brand new door, track, wheels, opener and all that I am hoping we WONT have to call them out again. But Im for sure recommending them to everyone!

We were having issues with our garage door opening and closing. We made an appointment to have it looked at. Before Camilio arrived, I received a text with some info about him and that he was on his way. I thought that was a nice gesture to have an idea of who is arriving at your house.Once we hashed out what the issue was and the remedy for it, it took him just under three hours to complete the job.We are very pleased with his professionalism, friendliness and are completely satisfied with our choice of opener and the quality of work done. Camilio took the extra time to re-route our sensor and wall unit wires so as to look more professional.Dont think we could have made a better choice by going with A1 Garage. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who would need garage door servicing.

I would not recommend using this company. The techs were both very nice but the scheduling and follow through on fixing my garage door were terrible. I originally had someone come out to fix my door and they had to take down the spring so that I could repair some brick underneath. That went smoothly, they took down what they needed to and then I had someone repair the brick. I texted them to schedule an appointment the day I got back from a long trip. They were supposed to come out from 1 - 6 PM that Monday. 5:30 PM comes around and I still havent heard from anyone. I reach out and ask for a status update. They say they talked to the tech and he told them that we needed to wait for the brick to be repaired and that I would call and schedule an appointment and they said I never scheduled an appointment. I say I scheduled the appointment in this exact text thread. See above. They say to call. So I call them and schedule the appointment for the next day which is a Tuesday from 1-6 PM. I get a confirmation that my appointment is on Tuesday from 8 AM to 1 PM. Slight mix up but I can deal with it.They send out a tech on Tuesday (not the original guy which is fine). I told the tech before he arrived that the original guy that came out has my springs so not sure if he can do anything without them. He said he would call the original tech to get it fixed for me today. He came out and long story short, they wouldnt let him put up new springs (understandable) so I had to have the original tech come out. I had to then schedule a third appointment for the original tech to come out and fix everything. He showed up and I explained the frustration that I went through and that I had to clear my schedule for three days because of all of their scheduling issues and asked if they could do anything to help me out due to the frustration, he called his supervisor and nada. They wouldnt offer me anything. So now after multiple days of calling and taking time away from work my garage is finally fixed. They were a very challenging company to deal with to say the least.

They called back when they said they would, & showed up when they said they would.These people do exceptionally great work, & we love our new door- it’s beautiful!David Cote went above and beyond the call of duty, & far exceeded my expectations. He took time to talk to me on several occasions, & sent me an interesting article about garage doors.They say it’s the service after the sale that counts, & that’s when David shined. He was SO kind & helpful to me before the door was installed, & told me I can always call him with any issues after the sale too. David did not disappoint. I had an issue shortly after installation, that was my fault. David promptly rectified the issue, & was every bit as nice about it, as he was prior to installation. David Cote is a wonderful man, & true to his word. A1- you’re lucky to have David on board!

Bruce the Customer Care Manager helped me with my concerns. To my pleasant surprise he went above and beyond to satisfy my questions and made needed corrections. A1 Garage Door Service recently responded to my emergency call when my garage door folded in half.The first technician to respond was Jason. Besides being such a pleasant person, when he set about working to secure my garage door until a permanent replacement could be done, it was very obvious that he knew what he was doing and was very, very good at it.To say he worked quite hard is an understatement. In a about 3 hours, he had the old garage door back in place and secured until a new one could be installed. Thank you Jason for your hard work taking care of my problem.I should interject here that between getting my old door secured and the arrival of the new door, A1 Garage Door Service kept me informed as to how long it would take and when I could expect the new door. I really appreciated the fact that Mario took the time to explain exactly what needed to be done and did not pressure me into doing more than what I could do. Although it ended up costing more than what I had initially anticipated, I feel confident that only the work that was absolutely necessary was done and done right. Today I had Justin Tatum and Joe Buth come out to replace a broken spring. They showed up early! How awesome is that. The reviewed everything with me prior to conducting the work. Justin provided options and choices. As they were replacing the springs they found that the bearings were completely gone. They again showed me everything prior to doing any additional work. They could have just installed the springs and not said a word but they did it right. I greatly appreciate how thorough Justin and Joe were and ensuring everything was done correctly. Because of how thorough they were I also decided to go with a new garage door opener. Justin had to make some adjustments when installing the opener due to the house construction being a little off center but again he did it right. I highly recommend A1 Garage Door and I very highly recommend Justin!

I was hesitant calling this company, since I was used to dealing with smaller companies. However, Bobby was awesome. He went over our options, explained pricing while never pushing product. Installed a new opener a week after tune-up, was fast, clean and made sure everything worked. Great customer service overall!

Just had Joe Hedlund and his trainee come and tune up our garage doors. Joe called to advise he was on his way and offered to bring me a cup of coffee. I knew then that I was about to receive A-1 (superior) type of service, Joe came in and I explain what I wanted done and he completed the task very quickly, efficiently and professionally. To make a appointment was easy, called at 8am was told someone would be there between 1&6 pm. My technician was Mario,polite and wearing a mask. He inspected my door system and explained all my options. From cheapest quick fix to what should be done to have it last and be safe. Not cheap but Mario gave me all possible discounts and I feel that I got a good quality repair. Very good tech and good quality company. Will recommend and use them again if necessary 👍👍👍👍👍
