New favorite game shop!! Phil was awesome and so helpful. We came in for dice, and to just check out the shop, and were blown away by the cozy atmosphere, great selection, and warm welcome. We will definitely be back!

Phil was so sweet and helpful! Weve just started playing role playing games and were looking to invest in our own dice. I wasnt sure what to expect and have often been intimidated by gaming stores since this is such a new hobby for me, but Phil makes his shop a very down to earth place to be. He loves what he does and that passion gave the place such a great energy. You can tell he fosters a great community. Some other customers offered us first timers a seat at their table for a game. If we didnt have other errands to run, we would have stayed. We will definitely be back.

Hosts a board game night on Tuesdays and has tables available to have other tabletop games played at night during the week! The owner Phil is the absolute best! Even if you are kind of new or dont know what to get, make sure to come here, you wont be disappointed! ( There are also games that he rents, maybe you see one that tickles your fancy, but dont want to commit. Thats okay some games are Available to rent and okay and then If you decide you love it and want it I believe the rental fee comes off your purchase price)

Great, and I mean GREAT selection of 1,2,3/3.5 edition books of Dnd. Also, a huge pathfinder book collection, all well priced (most were BOGO or B2G1!)Miniature selection was big. A lot of already opened mystery packs individually priced. The non painted miniatures (which I am more partial to) we’re very lacking and near non existent. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5.The owner was very nice and helpful, very welcoming, great conversation.Overall great atmosphere, will definitely be coming by again when we visit Pittsburgh!

Game Masters is a wonderful local store to get your fill of board or card games. Phil is an extremely welcoming person and is very helpful with picking games out.

The selection of games is outstanding. If you ask the owner about any of the games hes able to talk extensively about all of them. Great little shop, its very easy to spend half an hour reading the backs of games, looking at DnD miniatures or thumbing through modules. Small parking lot, but very easy to access.

Visiting Pittsburgh from out of town, we always like to find local game stores to visit. Meeting Phil and exploring his shop was fantastic. We enjoyed listening to some of his stories and picking up a few recommend games. Highly recommend anyone visit and support this shop!

I visited Game Masters back in September while visiting my buddy from college. I cannot speak higher of my experience of Game Masters and Phil.The Shop (store) is warm and inviting. Phil was friendly and welcoming. The selection of products available was extensive and all at a reasonable price. Being from an island where the old school market is hard to come Game Masters for me was a little slice of heaven being able to get books from first edition D&D all the way up to fifth and everything in between.Over all my experience in Game Masters was the best gaming shop (store) I visited in the two weeks I was in the USA, it included everything you could want from a gaming shop (store) excellent conversation, a great selection of products and even a history lesson on the unusual coffee pot Phil uses.If you’re looking to shop for games old and new Games Masters is for you.

Great selection of tabletop games and an impressive array of core books and companion books for tons of RPG systems. Im positively terrible with names so now, a few hours later, I cant remember who I wanted to compliment here but the gentleman working there was positively friendly in a conversational way, not just in a Im staff so Im polite manner. I got the sense that this shop isnt just about the products, but genuine investment in the gaming community as well, which is one of the biggest make-or-break points for LGS quality. It was just a great experience all around, and I look forward to shopping here again!

Small place yet big selections for board games. Customer service is wonderful. They know so much detail of each game and can suggest which game is good by age, game type etc. They rent games also. If you want games which you rent, they can order for you and subtract rent fee from your actual price when you buy. I highly suggests this place to go get board game.

Ive been friends with Phil, the owner of Game Masters, for almost 20 years. Please do not allow my low opinion of him to sway you from spending your hard earned money in his otherwise fine establishment. Also all of the stories that you might have heard about him from Vegas last year are 100% true.Game Masters carries an extensive assortment of card, board, and role playing games both for sale, and to rent, and the store is peppered with tables and privatish rooms that customers can use to organize somewhat regular game nights.PS - my phone tried to autocorrect the name of the store to Gym Mattress which, although not a particularly useful description of the store or what it offers, I think it has a nice ring to it and I plan on petitioning Phil to change it officially.

A great, friendly vibe, and you can tell Phil wants to help you find the perfect game.They also have a huge array of gaming events every month, and have great hours (Mon-Sat, until at least 9 p.m. I believe).Highly recommended.

They have gaming six nights a week, with three tables for plenty of space. I didnt think Id find a place like this within driving distance.And the family who run the place are friendly and helpful without being overbearing.
