The best selection for trade professionals Ive encountered. I was greeted by enthusiastic and friendly staff and helped promptly! They had exactly the tools I was required and so many more that Id have to put in the wish list. For sure a cut above the other well known establishments.

They do not stay open past 530pm even one day per week. So if you work until 5, as I do, and you live more than 30 minutes from the store, as I do, the only time you could ever shop there would be Saturday. Im sure its super convenient for their employees to leave so early every day, but clearly its not convenient for anyone else that works normal business hours to shop there. Its hard to understand how they wouldnt be losing a lot of potential business due to their overly restrictive business hours.

This is the best shop to pick up tools or parts. The parts and service people were so friendly and helpful. They stayed late to help us get exactly what we needed. We will be back for anything else too related!

My favorite place. Always helpful. Even when they didnt have the size I needed they recommended a place. Thats great service!

As I walk through the entire store twice looking at all the tools I passed many acme tool employees wandering around not helping anyone and never asked me once if I needed help with anything. That must be why their parking lot is always empty every time I drive by.

Excellent inventory and variety. Prices frequently higher than most other sources though.My biggest pet peeve through is the local MN stores refuse to honor the promotions that are mailed to me by Acme and that the prices the local stores charge are higher than they post on line? Seems I can only use the promo pricing on online purchases and them Im stuck with shipping priced and delays.Maybe easier to deal with the homeless despot :-(

Called to check prices on a Stihl ts420 with a cart. I talked to Jim and i told him I wanted a ts420 with a cart cause I wanted it to be universal and that I needed it specifically for a big job Saturday (cutting expansion joints in green concrete) Jim proceeded to tell me I needed a hardware kit to make saw compatible with cart..ok fine I asked if it had a depth gauge and a guide wheel out front to keep saw in line he says yes it does..ok I asked can you have it ready to go by Friday Jim says yes Ill have them call you when its ready, no one called, I called Him Saturday to see if my saw was ready yep its ready so I go and pick up and buy a concrete diamond blade specifically for cutting green concrete and bring it out to the big driveway I had to saw cut and here I couldnt even use the saw. Because it didnt have a guide wheel out front to keep saw aligned!! Really Sad you spend $1800 on a saw and cart and another $200 on a blade for a job and cant even use itMaybe acme should educate there sales personal on what there actually selling.. I highly doubt I will ever be back!! Called and left a message for a manager named Scott 3 days ago no call back!!

I worked at a big box DIY store for ten years. I was a manager so I do know great customer service. Concerning the Rockford Rd. Plymouth, MN ACME store I had great service by Alvin. He was extremely knowledgeable and educated me on a tool that I was not familiar with. That tool saved me a lot of time and money. This is definitely the place to go for higher-end equipment, tools, and supplies. All employees are extremely knowledgeable and not pushing, but definitely levels above the typical employee at the bigbox stores as well as the smaller hardware stores.

Place is huge, I think whatever your looking for, its there. Was just there looking to get a 6blade shield for angle grinder. Parts and service was really helpful,..great people

This place is awesome. The staff are super friendly, super helpful, and very knowledgeable. The store layout is good and they have darn near any tool you could need. Great for someone who just needs a drill for putting their TV up, all the way to a large contractor- these guys get it!

I called customer service and was then told they were out of the item for online orders but had it at a few stores. They would not pull one and ship it. Thought they were in the business to sell tools. I would not recommend this company

Acme was very helpful with recent table saw purchase. After many backorder related delays lasting nearly 10 months, my saw finally arrived. Acme kept me in the loop along the way and indicated that it wouldnt be an issue if I wanted to cancel, given the amount of time it was taking. When the saw finally arrived, my patience was rewarded with some free accessories from Acme. Shout out to Tim at Acme for his help along the way!

Place rocks..knowledgeable salespeople, efficient checkout, solid pricing on my addiction (Milwaukee) so the wife hates the the place but oh well......

Make sure to check stock at Home Depot and Menards first. You will pay more at Acme. Unfortunately I bought a miter saw stand for $230 and found the same one the next day at Home Depot for $179.

I must say that Acme tools is the singular most amazing tool store I have run across yet. Of course we dont have one in Illinois but maybe we should! Great selection, a scanty store for men!

They have a good selection of tools for many trades that you dont find in your local big box stores. The prices are decent also. Most of the sales staff are fairly knowledgeable. You can always find sales as they have them frequently through emails.

Large selection of tools from top tool brands. I found the prices to be higher than the big box stores and online; although you will not find the same selection, knowledge, repair service in the big box stores. So it could be a trade off for some if you need something right now and of better quality.

Must stop store for any and all tool purchases. Tools are fairly priced against large big lot stores. Have come to find out that if you think your getting a deal at other stores, its worth a stop by ACME. More than half the time they have the better deal. Staff is very knowledgeable and can usually answer any question. If you find yourself in the Plymouth location ask for Ken Davis. Ken knows his stuff and moves quickly to get you what you need and has gone out of his way on multiple occassions to meet myself and Clients time sensitive needs.

Overall they have a good selection of tools and equipment. I enjoy going in there to look and see the variety of tools they carry that I may “need.”In the past I’ve had trouble finding sales staff to make a purchase. More than once I’ve walked in ready to make a big ticket purchase and ended leaving empty handed because I couldn’t find assistance.Will I continue to shop there, yes, they have a good selection for nearly everything trades related. I’ll just go elsewhere to make a purchase if I can’t find assistance.

Store doesnt seem to want to follow company policies. Customer service said they price match Amazon but when I showed up to the store they said they cant and blamed it on company policy. Called customer service back and they said the store should have. Store also prices certain items higher than their own website prices. Bunch of crooks misleading customers. Save money and go to a reputable retailer.

Good selection of tools at market prices. Carry many of the big brands such as Makita, Dewalt, and Bosch.For woodworkers, there are some hand tools, but mostly large power tools from Jet, SawStop, and Powermatic. This location had limited bandsaw selection, with a few 9 and a single 14 Jet, though limited to a 6 depth of cut. Plenty of table saws, plus some planers, drill presses, and a few drum sanders.

With today being my tenth visit to ACME Tools in Plymouth, I have yet to be provided even average customer service. I only go there when I have an immediate need for a tool only they provide locally. They treat me as though they have more important things to do than help customers. I dont know, perhaps they do.

They were very helpful in finding an item that was no longer on the shelf but they had it in stock in the store yet!

I had a large limb that blew down in my front yard after a storm and had gotten estimates of $500+ to have it removed. Instead I went to Acme Tools and they set me up with a beautiful new Makita Electric Chain Saw for a fraction of the removal cost. They assembled the unit and showed me how to safely use it as I had never operated a chain saw before. In less that 2 hours the limb was cut into manageable pieces and bundled for curbside pickup. I am lucky to live near Acme Tools in Plymouth but I would make the drive if I had to for the customer service and their very competitive prices. They are truly pros in the tool industry and this is just one example of how they went above and beyond to help me solve a home improvement problem. Thank you Acme Tools!

Love coming to America tool they have every tool you can think of, well atheist that I can anyways but its always clean and the staff here are always willing to give a helping hand to help you find something and will go above and beyond to help you get it.

I come here when I want to find high quality tools, at a fair price and get expert advice in making my choices. I grew up using and appreciating the value of good quality tools. I am mostly a DIY now, but I hire the craftsman for key projects. I still like to use quality tools so I come to ACME. The team handled very smoothly several transactions including a item to return that I had purchased online. They helped with advice on some Milwaukee tool choices, and explored options for drill presses, ladders and more. I like that it is family owned and I know I will get honest and quality advice when I visit. I have found their prices to be very competitive and in some instances lower than the competition.

Only reason they didnt get 5-star is their computer system... it is painfully slow and they have to write down numbers between programs so looking stuff up or even buying stuff takes a while! Very good resource for tools!

Tools are great, so I will actually continue to go to Acme Tools, most of the associates are respectful and friendly. The problem is the associates lack of follow up and knowledge in regard to orders. I placed an order for an item that did not have inventory for Plymouth online but they had 1 in store when I called. I was told to check the box for in store pick up but that wasnt listed as an option. I needed the tool, so when I went to pick up at Plymouth I had to purchase the $900 item again, then bring back the $900 item that shipped from Grand forks to my house 3 days later. I had to make an extra trip to Plymouth to return it and all British customer service guy did is disagree with me and tell me I missed checking the in store pick up box.

Seems like a great place to buy tools. They have just about everything a guy could want. Nicely laid out, all major brands. I would have given them 5 stars, but they lack a good selection of table saws which is why I went there. Just 2 SawStop and 1 Jet.Will definitely keep in mind though for other purchases.

We own 2 sign companies and have a lot of needs for power tools and servicing of those tools. Our team attempted to use Acme Tools service department to fix our panel saw motor. The motor needed a new switch. We were first told it would be a $10 part, plus the labor cost to fix it. We were happy it was going to be a fairly affordable fix...compared to the quote they gave us to replace it with a new one, which was going to be between $800 and $1,000. We waited 3 MONTHS to get this fixed.... we called numerous times throughout the 3 months to check status and kept being told they were waiting on the part from the manufacturer. Eventually we were told they could not fix it and asked if we wanted them to throw our tool away?!?!? We picked our tool up, which had been torn apart and missing screws. Our team member was able to order the part needed online through Great Lakes Power Tools for $14.45 after shipping fees and he had it fixed in 20 minutes. The amount of hours and headache we wasted having to cut our substrates off site at our 2nd facility because our panel saw was out of commission at our 1st facility is aggravating to think about. I find it hard not to assume the motivation in not fixing our tool was in hopes of getting us to purchase a new one so they could make more money off of us. We will not be back to Acme Tool.

Ordered some Items online, it said shipping would be in 10-15 days. after 3 days I thought I would call and check on it. They said it was back ordered for 2 months!!!! I wonder how long I would have been sitting here waiting before they would have let me know. It is disappointing because I have bought a lot of tools from them over the years and, to be fair, this is more of an issue with the online ordering versus anything at the store! I have had good customer service there. Will never be online ordering from this place again!

I give it a high rating for having in stock on the shelf what no one else has in town. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. You most likely can find better prices on line on some items, but many manufacturers set the prices so you wont do any better. At Acme you will find many competing brands so that you can do a side by side comparison of physical features. Its not the place to go for cheap sacrificial tools.

Great place to get tools

I ordered a Kraft concrete screed over the phone. 6 weeks later, I drove to the plymouth location, I paid at the counter, proceeded to the warehouse Loaded a 16 cardboard tube with the help of the warehouse staff. Drove the screed 4 hours north and dropped it at a jobsite for a subcontractor. The inside sales supervisor Tim Fenske called me few days later asking if I received two screeds. I responded saying I wasnt sure as I had not opened the tube. I told my sub to check for two screeds in the box when he was to arrive at the site 4 weeks later. The sub instead used both screeds pouring a 40x60 floor. Tim calls again and I explain the situation. Tim tells me that they screwed up first but then I errored when I failed to prohibit the subcontractor from using the second screed. Tim tells me that I should pay for the screed because I was wrong to allow the sub to use the screed. After 4 phone conversations about this matter, I just gave him my credit card info and hung up. YOU were wrong Tim, Your store errored and I wasted my time so you could correct your store inventory.

The staff member that helped me at the counter was very polite, and extremely helpful in picking out a quality finish nailer.He went over the different brands and made sure to point out the small differences, and answered all my questions along the way.Thanks as always for your help! You guys put the big box stores to shame.

If you enjoy paying a premium over Home Depot or Amazon, then youll love it here. After doing some research their tools are marked up from as little as 5% to 50% over what you can find at home Depot or Amazon.

Best damn place to buy tools. If something breaks under warranty, bring it to them; they fix it in house AND theyll give you a loaner to use while theyre fixing it, so you can keep working, earning bucks.Unlike freaking home depot. If something you bought there breaks, they want to ship it out of state. Itll take 12 weeks...sorry, we dont have any tools you can use while were doing this....you can buy a replacement...youre SOL...

Worst customer service ever. I called to find out if they had a generator that fit my needs. I was told to look online and find the model number so they could look it up to see if they had it in stock. They could (or would) not tell me if they had a duel fuel generator over 2500 watts in stock without me providing them a sku number. Very disappointing.
