Guy in the deli has a bad aditude, rude to other customers. More importantly he does not follow food safety guidelines. Threat to health of the community. He should be fired.

First time to the hen house brand stores. Very clean. Selection of fresh produce was amazing. Live the butcher and deli counters. Also grab salad, soup and olive bar. Great store

A little on the costly side, but Hen House does a great job of keeping their product in stock and retaining employees. If you go there consistently you’ll be on a first name basis with at least one person there, what more can you ask for!

Although this is a small grocery store. Its in a really fun location and the little interaction Ive had with store employees have always been easy and positive. All the hen house products are always fantastic! They have a great salad bar at this location. If youve never tried the pistachio muffins, youre missing out.

Hen House will forever be my favorite. Their deli is 🔥. The Hawaiian Honey Mesquite sandwich and their pinwheels are sooooo good. Rick was very helpful and Chelsea and Grant super friendly and nice. Id make the half hour drive to grocery shop here anytime from North KC. Its a small, quaint store so dont expect the largest variety but I like it that way.Had to drop a couple stars because the last three times Ive come out there is little to no selection at the deli at all. Its becoming a consistent thing and thats the reason I come in the first place.

Wow so dont ever get anything from the hot dish section of this hen house. I got a cordon bleu and mash potatoes with gravy as part of the special. Firstly the special was for two sides and the gentleman working at the time didnt ask me if I wanted two different sides so I got two servings of mashed potatoes. Second the cordon bleu is with out a doubt in my mind the worst I have ever had. It was dry and mushy and definitely tasted as if it had been sitting out for many hours (I came in around lunch time so its obvious they make them in the morning and then just keep them out until someone buys them.) The meal was so bad I actually had to throw it away hardly a few bites into it as it tasted absolutely awful. I understand standards cant be super high when you get hot plate food but I feel it should at least be edible.

So as far as convenience goes its great. But they dont have an amazing selection pr variety necessarily. But it is close and has all the essentials. So if you arent picky and dont need a wide variety of products then it is your spot. If you need more variety I suggest a larger store.

You pay a little bit more but it is worth it. The staff is so helpful, and even though they are smaller than some stores they always have what Im looking for.

Bougie af and no off-brand items that I saw. Other than being a big bummer for poor people like me, it was a nice store. Good selection of high quality produce.

I typically like shopping here but today one lady made me so uncomfortable with her rudeness that I was couldn’t believe it. She was intentionally polite to everyone else before and after me but went out of her way to be discourteous and display impatience & annoyance. Not only did she not want to make eye contact but she she almost scolded me because she couldn’t hear me read off a phone number to her. She didn’t tell me hello nor did she wish me a good day; she literally just slapped my change on the counter while I stood there with my hand out; but since she didn’t want to make eye contact with me she either didn’t see my hand out didn’t care to see. She went on to be friendly to the next customers.I didn’t respond at all I just thanked the young man who organized & bagged my groceries for me & left. I didn’t ask for a manager because I had to work and also because I don’t want to look like that one lady who asked to speak to a supervisor.Her behavior was appalling.

Hen House PV is my go to grocery store. Easy to get in and out, ample parking. The staff is the best. Big ups to Joe the Butcher and Monica at checkout who is always a bright, bubbly ray of beautiful sunshine guaranteed to brighten your day.

Love this store. Sometimes though they dont carry consistently certain specialty items. This time I was looking for Bobs Red Mill steel cut oats. They didnt have them- but they had the Scottish Oats so I am giving them a try.

I went to the Hen House in Mission Center for ears of Corn on the Cob. I was looking for that and roasted Chili Peppers, but I didnt find the Roasted Chilis. They will be having some Roasted Chilis in 2 weekends from now.I didnt take any photos of this Hen House Grocery Store when I was there, however if youd like to buy some ears of Andys Candy ears of Corn, I really recommend you buy some Andys Candy from the Hen House Grocery Stores in Kansas City, KS in the future!

Easy to get to. Had no parking problems. A smaller store, but they are the only store that carries my favorite cheese.

Great neighborhood grocery store! Offers a little bit of everything including a great salad bar, bakery, pharmacy, meat department and kitchen. They even offer sushi! Plus all of the normal things you need with a grocery store.

On a Sunday morning recently (4-28-19) the store was badly understaffed resulting in a bad experience.There were at least 7 customers standing in line single for file to check out at a single register running at the customer service booth. The employee running it was doing her best but was harried and had no help. Customers were grumbling. No one came up to open another register. All other checkout lanes were closed.I personally notified another employee of the problem and she shrugged her shoulders stating her job was to prepare salad.The store is otherwise very nice. Maybe it was just an off day. But this was poor management and poor customer service.

Wonderful staff throughout the store and absolutely love the pharmacy at this location! You get perks ($) to use in the grocery store based on number of prescripts filled and this is an added VALUE for using this pharmacy!

Chicken on the hot deli was cooked in grease that OBVIOUSLY has been cooking fish. Therefore the chicken tastes like fish. U

I stopped in quickly to pick up balloons and a birthday card. Great service from the gentleman at the floral counter. He even bagged the balloons to protect them from the rain.

Very small, but convenient location. Pretty expensive compared to others. We typically only use this Hen House for emergencies. Nice folks though. Always clean and friendly.

Seems like every time I come in,theres a cashier or two on their phones or not paying attention to customers who are usually not sure which register is open. And God forbid if you end up going through the register of Barry. All that guy knows how to do is reminisce with everyone and hold the line up talking about neighbors and families. Is this a reunion or a place of business? Im trying to get home thank you very much

Just tried this store today. I know the snooty customers have nothing to do with the store but the cashier guy is another story. I was in the express line and I had 6 packages of seasonings. I was handing them to the young man and he yanked them out of my hand like he was annoyed with me being there buying so little. Not sure I will ever go to another store. Seriously lacking in customer service.

I bought black cherries at your store Sunday afternoon and today I had to throw MOST of them away; many of them had white mold or obvious signs of spoilage. I do not live near this store so chose not to bring them back.

Best prepared salad in the city

Called them about a price in the seafood meat department was told one price and they would work with us on a bundle of snowcrabs and got there and it was higher and would not work with us like they promised on the phone.
