Was giving location info by husbands coworker after our only car died... After dealing w the car, trying to get back and forth to work, and the stay at home order I was very stressed. But called and spoke w Russell and it was like talking to an old friend. He was very sympathetic to our situation and didn’t waste anytime helping us work with our constraints. Even though the staff was working from home they went to the location and met us and let us go for a test drive. We met Kathy who I fell completely in love w. Lies and not being there for the customer after 3+ years. I was told i was on the pandemic list which i was lied to. Crazy pandemic which i have no control over. On top of that have 2 kids. Like the car I got. But I have two issues with this place. The first is the CPI insurance they are trying to add to my contract, even though I provided proof of insurance the day I bought the car. The second is the $50 gift card I was promised because a headlight was out and service was closed so it couldnt be changed before I took the car. It has been more than two weeks since I got the car and still no gift card, although my salesperson keeps telling me shes mailed it. Shes also ignored my last two emails checking on the status of that card. It does not take a week to receive something from North Carolina to Virginia. My next step regarding that card is filing a better business bureau complaint. I have the promise in writing.

Let me start off by saying my credit score is under 500, I have two repossessions on my credit. I didn’t think I would get approved and was very nervous. The sales man Russell made me feel comfortable right away and also helped me explore insurance options. The sales manager Betty not only made the deal happen but discounted the car by a few thousand dollars so the car I wanted would be in my price range. Terrible location to do business with. Program Consultant Cathy Streeter Mangum can be misleading with her charm and wit. She acts if she is there is to help, while she only wants your info to tease you about an approval. She makes false promises, claiming she can get you in a car same day. These are all lies. She is fake. I had to reach out to her - waiting sometimes an hour for a response - remind her of my needs and interests in my car search, in thought I would be given courtesy service. The financial documents she created were not even based on what we discussed, such as the down payment was actually higher. She explained this was necessary and I would be approved by their financial company after an interview. Her attitude was often impatient and she often felt pressured, it seemed, to get a sale. After much disappointment and frustration, I reached out to the location manager named Betty. She instructed she would resolve some document issues and get me approved. This too was a lie. She denied me. She made up an excuse about my not having enough time at my job. Who has a enough time on a job these days during the pandemic? We are all lucky to have gotten a job. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND KEEP YOUR HARD EARN MONEY! THEY CLEARLY DO PRAY ON THE DESPERATE AND NAIVE CREDIT REJECTS!

After financing my car I started to have problems. The first week my car ran great, then the next week I had problems it turns out it had a major transmission leak. Their cars come pre inspection however the inspections are bs because this car would never have passed. I brought it to a reputable shop to get the transmission leak fixed even tho it was under warranty at jd byriders garage because I had read several reviews stating they put bandaids on the vehicles. Shortly after the break modular was having problems and with the Covid pandemic I was having trouble making payments on time. When you sign a contract with them they ask for 10 references, HOWEVER they are not references as when you miss a payment they call and harass the references that you owe money, they told me if I kept in contact no matter what form of contact that they would not call my references but yet they still did. I told them about my break modular and they called it wear and tear which is bs. I didnt even have the car two years and it was JUNK. When you say something about it beging a lemon they say well we didnt sell it to you and that there are no lemon laws in your state on used vehicles. Their finance company is CNAC and they are horrible!!! DO NOT BUY!!!! My sales rep was Russle and he will gladly sell you junk with a smile on his face. My loan officer was Joan and she will harass the hell out of you and your references! I gave the Lawn ordiment back to them before my two year mark and they expect me to pay it off haha I expected a car that would be worth the $13,000 they wanted when the Kelly blue book price was $10,000 in pristine condition. 12/20/2020*Response to rep who responded to this review* That phone number only brings me to the people who sold me the car or the people that I financed it to so Im NOT interested in talking to you. I didnt list all problems on car but lets start here....rear diff broke, brake modular no good, I replaced the ignition cuz that failed, abs lights on, major oil leak, awd vehicle was actually one wheel drive...Cant make extremely high car payments and fix vehicle so I can either A) fix it and yall can repo it and have a better vehicle or B) give you back ur bum a** car.... Your finance company is unprofessional always threatening to repo car after one missed/late payment, and the CNAC rep LATRIC is an unprofessional ghetto a** B**** who makes loud obnoxious sounds in the phone like the chick on Medeas Big Happy Family and then hangs up on you, idk how she even has a job. This company needs to be shut down and I will take my complaints to a hire level way over jd byriders head!!!!
