Oh my! What a treat!! We stumbled across this place and cant wait to go back. Ordered pot pie for dinner, and had apple pie for dessert. Never too much pie! Food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Amazing pie! We got a strawberry rhubarb pie that was about 2 inches taller than the pie tray, and it was incredible. Super flaky crust and sweet, juicy filling. Look forward to going back!
A Slice of Pie is the best restaurant in Rolla. I moved away 10 years ago, but every time I come back, I have to have it.This was my first visit to the new location. While it’s not the same, it’s a much needed change. It’s no longer a hole in the wall attached to a laundromat – it’s now very visible off a main stretch of road. The space inside is massive in comparison to before – plenty of space for all. They have “half slices” (which are bigger than a half slice) and “whole slices” for $1 more, so always go for the whole slice even though it’s not technically double the pie.My favorite is the Toll House, a chocolate chip cookie pie piled high with homemade whipped cream. But really, you can’t go wrong.
I was very underwhelmed by this place. I had heard so many good things and it just didnt live up to the hype. First off, the service was terrible. I stopped in to get a couple of pieces of pie to go and ended up waiting 20 minutes to get my order. Everyone in there at the time were waiting on their to-go orders as well. Secondly, their pie is very expensive! Two pieces cost me almost $18. And it wasnt even that good. I admit, I do a lot of baking myself so maybe my bar is higher than other folks. All I know is I could make several quality pies for the price they charge for a single one ($35).
Everytime we pass through, we try to stop at Slice of Pie. We are from Wisconsin but my husband loves it! The lunch options were quite tasty too. I got the mushroom and chicken pot pie (If I remember correctly) and my husband got a slice of Boston Cream Pie. Not pictured was my bumbleberry Pie (amazingly delicious!!), as well as another favorite of ours Strawberry Rhubarb. The portion sizes for Pie are huge but oh so tasty. You wont be disappointed if you stop in for a visit.
After hearing and paying over $8 for one slice, my mind instantly thought, “this better be worth it.”Was it? Yes and no. While the slices were really large and could be argued the size was equivalent to the price, I feel as if that is the goal or objective. Give you a big*ger* slice so it seems fair to charge so much. Now with the quality, the pie tasted extremely delicious and the whip consistency was very melt in your mouth and great. The crème was tasty and I enjoyed what I could handle but it was just too much for one, two maybe even three sittings.Overall, good experience but next time I’ll stick with a half slice, maybe once a month.
We stopped in to see what was available. Looking at the selection of pies in the display cabinet and the varieties on the menu board we were impressed (almost overwhelmed). The Country Custard and Tollhouse pies were delicious 😋. I was not expecting the size of the pie slices. I was able to eat more later. The whole slice was about the size of 1/4 pie it seemed. We plan to come back to bring some home for Thanksgiving.
This place was so good! The bacon quiche and the chicken pot pie were so delicious. We topped it off with a slice of banana cream pie, a slice of strawberry rhubarb and the buttermilk pie - all were outstanding! The banana cream pie came with a mound of homemade whipped cream that you could just dive into and enjoy.
Each visit we try something different for dessert. Today the winners were American Apple and Oreo Cheesecake. WOW! This place is dangerous. You dont get just a slice here. Its more like a slab & a half! The new, larger location only amplifies what this business can do. From the personality of the crew down to the baked bits of heavenly goodness, A Slice Of Pie has got it going on!
This is a quaint, old-fashioned restaurant in Rolla where you can grab a quick meal and a delicious slice of home-baked pie. The workers are friendly and the dining area is spacious. We had the quiche and a turkey club sandwich; both were delicious. The sandwich was served on a small loaf of fresh bread. Yum! And the pies? Heavenly.
I ordered 4 pies for Saturday the 23rd. The St Robert store did not bother to call me to tell me they were closing that Saturday. Then they lied and said they called and I cancelled the order. Apparently the owner told the store to have someone there so we could pick up the pies. It has taken an act of God to get these pies. I am so angry at the lack of professionalism of these people.
A Slice of Pie was really tasty, the size of the slice of pie was more than I expected and with vanilla ice cream make the pie even better. The service was good,a glass of water was offered with the pie, although u could purchase colas or coffee.I highly recommend this place...
Delicious pies. Bring cash. Someone recommended the strawberry rhubarb & it was great. The spinach quiche wasnt my favorite as it was really cheesy & more of a layer style quiche. Chicken noodle soup was a hit with my children.
Expensive, paid $34 for a whole lemon meringue or my daughter’s birthday, it was beautiful and she was so excited! But the lemon curd was not great, it tasted almost bitter with an intense artificial lemon flavoring. All 8 of us were not a fan and at that inflated price it had better be amazing! I’ll just stick with the Cuba bakery, $12-$15 for beautiful handmade pies. Pass on Slice of Pie. SO disappointing!
This is such a unique store. They have so many pies to choose from that are absolutely delightful. I drove an hour out of my way a few times now to experience this wonderful place. The boston cream pie is so yummy, but my word, you cannot go wrong. Dont be afraid to ask for assistance, the servers will be quick to assist you.
Easily some of the best pie Ive had. My favorites are the strawberry rhubarb (ugh, who doesnt love a good classic pie) and the cherry/raspberry one. Their pies can seem a little pricey, but they put so much love into those pies and you can really tell. Worth every penny!
I’m sad about the pie I got we went with strawberry Rhubarb as recommended by a customer the bite he let us taste was good but the pie we took home was not. We paid 35 dollars for a pie that was not fresh nor tasty.
Its a must stop any time were near Rolla. Pie is delicious.
Sooo yummy! Great cake! Delicious prices!🍰
Lives up to every expectation! Massive selection, beautiful restaurant, friendly staff. I picked up a slice of key lime for my birthday and boy howdy! Delicious fresh cream, perfect cracker crust and zingy filling that absolutely fully filled the clamshell takeout box. Every texture was perfect, every flavor was spot on. They have certainly earned their reputation for Best Pies on Route 66
Tried ordering three different pie slices before Fathers day...only to be told each time, Im sorry, were out. I understand baking pies takes time, but taking off the menu what you dont have available seems a simple solution.
Pies were good but the crust is a bit thick and tough.arge selection. Coconut pie is huge and good
The food has been consistently delicious every time I make the trip up. It is pricey, but it’s 100% worth it nonetheless! I have recommended this establishment to several members of my family and they all say the same!
Badass. My Grandma Francine would be exuberant to see and taste something made so 👌 perfectly. Do yourself a solid and pick ANY pie, then go next door and grab some tasty roasty coffee at Emmas 😎😁💥
Disappointed in the pie that costs so much. Peanut butter lust with no whipped topping. Thats what happens when you have children running your business.
Prices are just a little too much, please is great though
Amazingly great pie which you should stop to consume whenever possible. It works for breakfast, brunch, lunch, second breakfast, liner, dinner, supper, or snack. The best time for this pie is right now!
Delicious and generous portions!Had the bacon quiche, it was divine. There whole portion would give two adults a nice slice! Also got the chicken almond pasta salad, the whole serving can easily be split between two adults and you’d be stuffed.During pandemic seems like sandwiches and breakfast items are NOT available. They are focusing on pie and a few other items.
Some of the best pie Ive ever put in my mouth
Out of pie? How does that happen on a Monday at 2pm. We made this a destination stop on our trip from Ohio and they were out of every pie except pecan and coconut cream.
Some of the best pie Ive ever had. The chicken pot pie and the dessert pies were amazing. I will definitely be back!
Traditional chicken pot pie was good. Crust was flaky and tasted good. Filling was what youd expect for traditional chicken pot pie. Half a slice of Rhubarb strawberry filling was good. Unfortunately some of filling must have leaked and bottom of the slice had that burned flavor ⭐⭐:( We also had dutch apple ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ coconut cream ⭐⭐⭐ (gritty custard) and lemon meringue ⭐⭐ (perfume tasting lemon filling) Chicken salad was ⭐⭐⭐ it was gritty like coconut custard. Like flour or something more coarsely ground was used as thickening agent and was not mixed in well.
The most awsome pie. Still come back here or stop through even though no longer live in Rolla.
My wife and I heard great thing about a slice of pie. We drove by them plenty of times without stopping due to starting healthier eating habits. This day we could not resist. We ordered the Bumbleberry (4 berry pie; blackberry, raspberry, strawberry and blueberry) price for half: $20.50 price for whole: $31.95. The total came to over $34 for one pie.We brought the pie home and had it for dessert the same day. This ranks up there as one of the least favorite pies I have had. I did not say a thing to my wife as I did not want to poison her opinion. A few bites in I asked her what she thought. She said, this is very disappointing. The crust is hard to eat. It doesnt taste like this was made today or yesterday. Also the filing is paste like.I am going to call the company this morning to see what they say and I will update the outcome.Very very disappointedDave
Slice of Pie ... Heaven. A small, but tasty lunch/dinner menu -- give the Chicken Salad Pasta a try.
The food is delicious. The service was not good. They charge 2.00 for a cup of coffee and never would come over and refill our coffee nor did they check on us to see if we needed anything. I had to get up and get my to go box to put my pie in.. just bad service every time Ive been.
Delicious food and very generous portions!
We just made the stop at a slice of pie in Rolla Missouri very disappointing. Out of their signature dish at 2:00 p.m. which is chicken salad. So instead we ordered the quiche waited for 45 minutes no quiche nor the two slices of pie which would have taken 2 minutes to cut even after we ask them if they could just cut us a couple pieces of pie. Will be our last time we stop at this place. We walked out of the place asking for a refund. Nowhere should you wait 45 minutes for pre-cooked quiche and two slices of pie
Your looking at reviews rn to see if this place is good.... its awesome. Just go. You only die once and have every other day to live. So live a little, and go get some awesome pie.- The Morbid Critic
I ordered the quiche and it was very tasty! They accept credit card now too.
Absolutely delightful pie! A must try! The whole slices are huge!
Best pecan pie ever 😋
The pies are amazing and definitly worth the price. Also the staff were super nice and helpful. I wanted to order a cherry pie for Thanksgiving but waited too long to call and order so they already were full on orders. So I came early the next day and they had already set aside a cherry for me. Will definitely be getting more pie from here in the future.
Old fashioned homemade pies of all sorts. Its that simple and delicious.
50 kinds of pie oh my!homemade just like mamas. 10 am to 10 pm. Order is showing a strawberry rhubarb taste just like my grandmas ..my favorite. I also bought pies for the nursing home staff where my dad is living and I got a Blackberry crumb strawberry rhubarb and a French silk.the staff devoured the pies they absolutely love this place ask anybody in Rolla and theyll tell you its the best place to go for dessert
Best pumpkin cheesecake anywhere😊
A. Maz. Zing. There arent enough words to express the sheer joy of walking into this establishment. The width and breadth of pies produce a euphoria unmatched by many things in this world. And the ecstacy of the first bite creates a desire to the next and the next until youre left with the combination of bliss from the sweet creation and the sadness of the empty container. My picture is of the empty container because I couldnt hold back.
All out of Rhubarb Strawberry pie.Settled on Peach pie and it was awesome.
Hey yall, gotta say...i really like this place. Staff was really friendly, which is a big plus for me. One other thing i really like, is when you walk in...you really just want a pie. Came for food and am now leaving with a couple pies. Lol. Id highly recommend checking this gem out!
Ill start this off with the place was not packed when my wife and I got there. When we get to the cash register to order the male behind the register was to busy playing on his phone to take our order. Had to repeat it more then once. Cant say how well it tasted because after 45 minutes of waiting for our food we decided to get our money back and leave. During the 45 minutes 3 different groups that came in behind us got food. Wasnt a difficult order. 2 sandwiches and a pot pie. Probably wont try it again.
The food was awesome and the service matched!!! Took home a pie and cheesecake and they were amazing!!! Wish they still had cinnamon rolls though!!! Hint hint!
Went with a couple family members and we orders 2 slices of Pumpkin and one Country Custard. Both were very delicious. Ended up taking home half a pie of pumpkin and half a pie of Peanut Butter Lust. The PB Lust pie was also super delicious.. if you love peanut butter its a must. They sent us with a big container of their homemade whipped cream also to go on the pumpkin pie. Im sure they dont make a bad pie. Its a must stop if youre in the mood for something sweet in Rolla.
Paid over $31.00 for 4 slices of pie. Strawberry rhubarb was old tasting. Not like my mom used to make.
Foods over priced for what you get. They do not inform you that they are out of items when you purchase them. When called to speak to someone I was told that they could leave my name but the owner probably would not do anything. Terrible customer service and representation of thier products. New ownership has soiled the reputation of the previous owners business.
Very understaffed. Menu board in restaurant not updated when things sell out. We patiently waited in line for more than half an hour. We finally made it to the cashier only to find out they were sold out of so many things. We had waited all that time for nothing and left empty handed.
Hands down the best pies you can find for sale anywhere. Very cute honestly decor, really nice friendly people.
Great pie! great service! I live an hr an half away. I go to rolla for the pie!
Boston Cream Pie was amazing. Huge portion. Need a good selection of tea and coffee to go with it.
For my birthday we came for the week and from Kansas City to spend some time with my son and at my older daughters suggestion from her time in Rolla .. we tried a Slice of pie. She said not only is it nostalgic for her as she spent so much if her time here, but the food is simply incredible. We got a cherry cheesecake this trip as my birthday cake and not only was it the stuff heaven is made of, but also the employees were so kind and sweet. This will now become a family tradition as my son wants to come try many other menu items and we have already decided multiple options will need to become part of our Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts. ♥️ Thank you a slice of pie for becoming a part of our family
What a selection. It will be hard to make a decision! The pieces are very big and yummy.
Nice place, you get 1/4 of a pie for $6.95. A full pie is $29.95 which I thought was high. They serve A lot of different kinds of pie. Cream, fruit, cheese cakes, cakes, they serve breakfast like biscuits & gravy, quiche, lunch like chicken pot pies, chicken salad stuff like that. They were out of a lot of the pies no cream ones. Its nice
We love slice of pie! Still one of coolest and best desert places anywhere around!
Amazing Cherry Pie! What a cool find in Rolla, Mo.
Excellent hometown service, some of the same staff for 20+ years. Every pie is amazing! My wife had chicken salad sandwich and she loved it. I had the turkey club it was amazing.
Huge full slices of yummy pie. I had the American pie, Hubby tried the pumpkin cheesecake and daughter had the Oreo cheesecake. All were delicious. New space is beautiful. I neglected to take photos!
Absolutely adorable and very yummy pies!!!
A quaint little establishment, with some remarkable looking eats. I am looking forward to my pie when I get home
HUGE slices of pie, cheesecake, etc. Luckily, they offer half servings. Boston cream is my favorite! They also serve breakfast and lunch. Amazing soft yeast rolls, delicious quiche, and tasty chicken salad along with other menu items.
Great service and equally great pie! It is a little expensive, however the portions are large. It was a nice treat. Will visit again if in the area.
Quality excellent as usual. Line was short but they were slow filling orders.
Always had a great experience before they relocated to their new location. Husband and I popped in to try their Dutch Apple, as he never had it and it took over 20 minutes to get it. Once it came it was on such a small plate pie was everywhere and the cost was ridiculous. $7.55 for one small slice and I have to admit, my homemade Dutch is better. I sure hope they get additional staff soon as I can’t imagine this place continuing to thrive in the future as is.
Great pie and coffee. Nuff said!
I have been coming to slice of pie for a long time. Ever since they was over by the laundry mat. Now I have been coming to their new location. First of all I want to say I love the new location. More seating for everyone. Secondly I want to say the pies especially the chicken salad, wow. You all have out done yourself. And lastly but not forgotten I would like to mention that I seen you have a new guy working for you guys. I think he said his name was Joe. He was very helpful. He was very polite and good manners. To some people that dont matter but to me it does. Keep this one around. I like his smiling personality.
Delicious and sweet service! Best pies in Missouri!
Had chicken 🐔 pot pie 🥧 and then pb lust pie and it was delicious 😋. Excellent service, well worth thr trip ♥.
Ginormous slices of amazing pie! Very friendly staff!
I was excited to visit this shop while on a road trip across the country. However, while the pies looked delicious, we never got to try them. We were dismayed to see that employees were not wearing masks or gloves. There also was no sign on the door asking customers to wear masks, and indeed many customers were not. We decided we simply didnt feel confident in the safety of eating here during the pandemic, and we walked back out the door. In these times I dont understand why a business, especially one where food is prepared and served, wouldnt require their employees to wear masks. I hope Ill get to come back through here when we have a vaccine and the pandemic is over. And then Ill be able to leave a true review. For now, consider waiting until they adopt more safety measures to help stop the spread of the virus.
The absolute best pie around! The slices are huge! I can never eat it all at once. So many different choices. Definitely worth every penny and minute spent driving! Everyone there is always so friendly. Great place!
