My wife and I made a visit here while visiting the Pacific Northwest in early September 2021 from Hershey, Pennsylvania. All of the staff was incredibly friendly giving us a fun experience. We really liked how they had an entire case full of gluten free goodies which were delicious. The male helping us was very knowledgable about the ingredients in everything we asked about. We chatted with the owner (I think) about the chocolate spa that my wife works at. We are actually moving out to the area next spring so we cant wait to come back again as locals! Check them out!

I met Michelle at a Salem Chamber greeters event at the Scottish Rite and found out she could make me a Black Forrest cake for my fiancees upcoming birthday. I had been looking around for months and I guess it was just the perfect timing and ment to be.I settled on a 6, Black Forrest cake and it was AMAZING. Fiancee cried cause it had been years since she had a birthday cake and especially, that style and it was so rich and flavorful. It did suffer a little bit of shifting on my way home, blame the Salem traffic and multiple train tracks I went over. But Michelles team did fabulous work and won me many points that day. I highly recommend you swing by, even if its not a cakenyou need, they do all sorts of specialty treats, cupcakes and more. Shop local and support local business, we are in it together.

What a happy happy place and they have such delicious sweets! Michelle Ashley Custom Cakes has such a great vibe... their staff is so friendly and so helpful! I went in for a couple of goodies and ended up with 1/2 dozen “must try” baked treats! They also have a beautiful store that will make you want to just hang out!! My favorite was a delicious blueberry and lemon square!! It was heavenly!

Michelle Ashley Custom Cakes did an extraordinary job bring the Yu-gi-oh card to life in cake form. My son was delighted with his 3 sided pyramid cake. Not only was the cake, art, it tasted delicious. I absolutely recommend everyone try something from this bakery.Ty to Michelle Ashley and her very talented and gifted bakers. Worth nothing- the customer service is ACTUALLY customer service too♡

Michelle and her staff are great. They can make literally anything. And they have tons of gluten free and Keto which my wife and mother in law are. I requested a giant cinnamon roll and they were able to not only make it but made it great!If you need any type of baked good come to this place!

I saw some cupcakes posted on their FB page. I inquired about gluten free options. They said they hadn’t made them in that flavor before, but would try it. I had my GF cupcakes the very next day! Not only did they look beautiful, they tasted amazing! No one in my house knew they were GF, until I ate one 😎 amazing customer service! Will definitely be ordering more treats from them!

We have always had the best graduation and birthday cakes from Michelle Ashley’s! They are so professional and everything they do looks so professional and tastes great! Very moist and delicious.

Delicious desserts! The macaroons are my personal fave. Soo many awesome flavors. The cupcakes are so cute and unique and everyone who works there is very talented, friendly, & helpful.

Tried the macaroons and it had a stale taste, definitely wasnt worth the price. The Banana macaroon seemed to be old and stale. Also reached out to the owner asking if they did free birthday treats and was told no but she would give me a cupcake for my birthday. All I had to do was show the staff the message correspondence. I did as instructed and got a cupcake that honestly wasnt great but it was free. On my way out overheard the owner scold the employee that gave me my free cupcake telling her she needs to ask first even though my correspondence with the owner said to just show the staff. I was a huge fan of her cinnamon rolls. I cant deny that those are good. But honestly thats really the only thing I have tried from there that is even worth anything.

I cant actually comment on the baked goods here, everything actually looked so tasty and appealing, but my experience was less than stellar. Called yesterday and asked if there was anything available short-notice for today that was gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut free. I also asked about soy and was told they do use shared equipment for that (the soy) and I said that was fine. The person I spoke with gave me some really tasty sounding options and assured me that they would write the ingredients down so I could double check for allergens.I went in today to pick up my treats. There is a sign saying they use all shared equipment for GF DF etc., wish Id been told that over the phone but was still willing to buy the treats because maybe I misunderstood. Asked for the ingredient list and the person working at first told me they arent allowed to show the ingredients to customers (what? I didnt want the recipe just wanted to know whats in it so I can avoid allergic reactions).After finally getting in touch with the person who took my order yesterday, the person helping me today showed me a picture of a hand-written ingredient list. At this point its been a few minutes of searching and whatnot. Im given a token for a free cupcake, so that was nice. I give the ingredient list a quick check and notice almond milk on there. So...not nut-free. At all.At this point Im offered a refund.Two stars because both people I interacted with were extremely nice and tried to meet my needs. Im sure the desserts are great but the communication and transparency around allergens needs serious work.

I ordered a gluten free pecan pie from here. I love this pie, it was Perfect. Thru are my go to place for gluten free deserts. Good work.

What we paid for a cake did not come anywhere close to what we got. Ive gotten cakes from grocery stores that where a quarter of the price that where better tasting and looking.

Came in here Thursday evening for the 1st time and loved everything I bought which as it turns out my coworkers also raved since I bought something for them as well. Oh I got a token for a free cupcake later too!

Darling little shop front with wonderful confections. Keto and gluten free available. The parfait was delicious and not to heavy on the sugar. Check this little shop out, for that tasty guilty pleasure.

I highpy recommend, I went in just now randomly at 2:50pm on a Saturday and the friendliness and polite, efficient, customer service was incredible, and I love the keto cheesecake and macaroons or however you spell it. I just love it all.

Awesome people! I had the chance to visit with the Owner out in the parking lot. Unfortunately, do to short notice she was not able to help me with a cake, but did recommend me to some other places (Konditorei) which I did end up going with. But I will definitely be back to try Michelles in the future. She took the time even though she was busy and it wasnt going to make her any money to recommend other great shops. I dont know many other places that would not only lose business but give it to someone else. If you have the chance please go and return the favor. I know that I will!

I have to give you the feedback from my 2 cakes!My sister who turned 70 today and is a baker said the chocolate cake was the best she’s ever eaten!!!I failed to get a picture of her enjoying it. My brother in law who bakes said it was the best ever as well. My 85 year old Aunt inhaled it and ate every bit! Lolol A huge success so thank you very much team!!!My granddaughters cake I wasn’t here but ate a slice when I got home ( I didn’t eat the chocolate). The cake was baked perfectly was so moist and crumb was perfect. Just the right amount of filling and frosting!Both cakes get 100%!!!

Ordered some green cupcakes for my sons 7th birthday. Such a fun place, when we went to pick up the cake pops we had to buy some additional sweets for the road. Cake pops were amazing! And individually wrapped..making for easy to go party bags. Just what we wanted. :) P.s. my son felt like he was on a food network show. Lol ❤ ❤ ❤

Wife sent me a photo of the cinnamon rolls and i had to try them. Messaged them on face book about hours and they replied quickly. Their cinnamon rolls are FIRE! Got the lemon blueberry and they are awesome wife and kids love them. They made a repeat customer.

We really enjoyed the peppermint cheesecake and then decided to tey the Gluten Free Peanut Butter Balls because they looked so good. They were full of flavor and very moist and delicious! Definitely recommend this place to satisfy your sweet tooth!🤩

I wish I took a picture of the cheesecake and hot chocolate bombs we bought. Our kids loved them, I would recommend literally trying anything that she has to offer. When we left there was a line out the building at least 6 families deep. Try walking around in the 45th parallel building and supporting other local businesses as well such a cute and unique location

Okay, some of the treats of gluten free were okay, but for Thanksgiving 2020, I ordered a pecan and apple gluten free pies. They were the worst pies Ive ever had, I was embarrassed after I served to my guest they said the same thing. I want to suggest to Michelle, dont get into this field, stick with the regular pies and dont advertise GLUTEN FREE anything.

The cake was not good. The outside was dry, inside undercooked, tasted like a box cake mix, strawberry filling tasted like store-bought sundae topping, and the frosting was grainy. Spoke with the business owner via social media who responded rudely and defensively. Do NOT recommend.Editing to add: after my negative review, the owners husband decided to stalk me on Facebook and left a comment of a gif flipping me off on one of my old posts. I have had to block him and his wife on social media. Just an FYI that this is a business that resorts to stalking, harassment, and intimidation tactics after a negative review.

We love going to Michelle Ashley custom cakes. The owner and staff are always so welcoming. The desserts are amazing and always have a variety for the whole family. You will love everything! They also have low carb. desserts which are my favorite.

I ordered a Elsa cake for my daughters 4th birthday. As it was very cute to look at, but the vanilla cake was flavorless and EXTREMELY dry, as was the frosting. Paying $110 dollars for a 10 inch cake I expected way more. Disappointed me and the adults of the party, of course a child isn’t going to care and my daughter loved it, so It isn’t too much of a loss I guess.My boyfriend purchased a “keto” Cinnamon cheesecake slice for me. I’m very hesitant to eat keto treats other people make, because they can be tricky and not knowing exactly what goes into it makes me nervous. The cheesecake had soooooo much munk fruit sweetener on the top of it I had to shake/scrape off some of it to even be able to eat it. The cheese cake filling in the middle was okay, the crust on the bottom was decent. After eating this treat my glucose levels were higher than they have been in months. I watch my macros very closely, and I also test my ketones weekly as I’ve been on the ketogenic diet for over 4 years now. This, in my opinion, is not keto friendly. My ketone levels are out of whack now which is very frustrating.The cake was so cute and the makers of the cake are incredibly talented when it comes to decorating. But if you want both cute and great taste/freshness, I do not recommend this shop.Reply to owner- The cake for my child was not consumed by me, half of the keto treat was, followed by a clean ketogenic lifestyle for the rest of the day. I am using Opinions from everyone who tried the cake. Regardless, treats advertised as keto, should be in fact a true ketogenic treat that does not spike blood sugar. low carb would be a more accurate name for the treat.I have sampled many cakes in the past that have been made professionally, not only from a grocery store, my opinion still stands.

I worked with Michelle to design a cake for a friend’s wedding. She executed my design beautifully, and with late notice (I planned the entire wedding in under a month!!) used my friends homemade jam between the cake layers. This personal touch was noticed & LOVED by the family (it was the Brides family recipe) & it was so special. Thank you so much for working with me on this beautiful & sentimental cake!! I’ve since referred my cousin for an adorable Smash Cake for her little girl. Definitely recommend!!

Im just going to share my experience with Michelle Ashley Cakes. You can decide from there if you choose to use her. Long story short. Future daughter in law put $100 non refundable deposit for a wedding cake for July 2020 and she signed a contract. Her father later went in and paid the cake in full. Covid hit. The venue went under and they had to change the date and the venue. My future DIL contacted Michelle Ashley who said she could not deliver to the new venue. We reached out to M.A and pleaded for her to deliver to the new venue (only 8 miles further than the original venue was). We emphasized with her struggles this year as well. She then said it would be $150 to deliver. Her contact that was signed clearly says $50 delivery fee up to 20 miles then $2 per mile after that. My daughter requested a refund minus the $100 non-refundable deposit. Her request for a refund was denied. My daughters father went to the bakery and had some words. Was given half the refund. Why? because he was upset and just wanted his money back? So she basically stole $200. She manipulated a manipulator and won. If you choose to go with Michelle Ashley, do your due diligence!!Reponse by owner. After a cake that tasted like sawdust, youre no longer needed. And stop threatening people, negative/truthful, reviews are allowed. Nobody is responsible for me but me. I see you have blocked others from negative reviews recently also

Michelle made us the best cake we could have asked for, for our wedding! My husband and I LOVE cake (who doesn’t!?) so this was one of the most fun parts of wedding planning for us. Michelle made the experience great by providing us with a custom cake tasting and then making sure she understood our vision perfectly before departing ways. I reached out to her a couple times over months of wedding planning and always received a timely and clear response. When the big day came everyone, including us, were very satisfied with the appearance and taste. I would probably buy the pink champagne cake too often if we lived closer!

I ordered a Custom Unicorn cake from Michelle, for my daughters birthday. It turned out amazing! We did chocolate with cherry filling. The cake is so moist and delicious. Not to mention adorable. I will be ordering more cakes for future events!

Pretty cool to have keto options. I bought one snickerdoodle bar and one Nanaimo bar and it was $18. The Nanaimo was delicious, and the other was just ok. I’ll probably only come every once in awhile because they are expensive, but nice to have an occasional keto treat.

Everything she makes is beautiful to look at. I think Im the only one who doesnt really like the taste though. Weve been there multiple times because I want to like it. To me the treats are all super sugary with no real flavor. I tried the keto treats and they have a strong cooling effect and the sweetener is very granulated.I use keto friendly sweeteners everyday, so Im pretty acclimated to them. I think she needs to use a powdered version and significantly less xylitol and the keto treats would probably be good to me.

I want everyone to know just how wonderful this experience was for me. I placed a custom order with details of my expectations for party cupcakes. When I came to pickup my order...this little bakery was clean, well organized and ladies were personable and had cupcakes packaged and ready to go. The decorative iced tops were beautiful beyond my expectations! My friends loved loved loved these moist melt in your mouth wonderful cakes and not one was left behind. They all wanted the name of bakery. I will be ordering again from them. 😊

She takes personalized and customized to a new level to provide exactly what you want.When I pop into her bakery itself, its always full of beautiful and scrumptious treasures... Michelle and Becky are the best! I live in Portland and cannot visit my mother for mothers day. I called to see if they could deliver to my mom for Mothers day. They are having a big event but she said she would make it happen! She could have easily said no but she offered to deliver it after she was done working! Went to the bakery during the meeting Santa, prices were extremely reasonable for the delicious food. Just had a cake at my friends dirty 30 she made into a beautiful coffin shape and it was rich and smooth. I would always recommend Michelle Ashley’s Custom Cakes. My friends and I werent impressed. Our cupcake crumbled when eating it, the frosting was lacking flavor, and the size ratio to cost was was interesting. It looked like something my niece and I would make.

I ordered my sons 2nd birthday cake of paw patrol, chocolate flavored. I’ll have to say the cake was very good, all my guests enjoyed it. The cake was very moist and the design was just what I was looking for. My son loved it which was most important. This place tops all the cupcake shops in town. I know cause Ive tried them all. I got 18 chocolate cupcakes for my daughters 15th and they were to die for. All the kids thought they were so fancy, they all felt special. Her cake pops are so rich and creamy. Michelle puts her heart into every treat she makes. Michelle has been my go to baker for several years now. She does an outstanding job on EVERYTHING she does. She made our wedding cake and cupcakes and they were such a hit! She makes a to die for pumpkin cheesecake that even my non loving pumpkin husband enjoys. Her Pecan Pie is out of this world and she even makes delicious sugar free muffins! In my opinion sugar free anything is hard to do and she nailed it! I can’t recommend Michelle enough! 💕 If you haven’t been to her bakery you really need to go!

We ordered a custom birthday cake for my daughter’s sixteenth birthday. Michelle was able to put an edible photo on top (per request) of what we wanted and we chose our cake flavor, filling, frosting colors and chocolate drip. It turned out amazing and my daughter loved it! And it tastes pretty good too!! I was able to order and pay online without a lot of notice. Quick and easy and cake was ready for pick up as promised!! I’ve tasted other treats of Michelle’s and all are quite fresh & tasty. Thanks so much!!

I purchased a Game of Thrones cake for my daughter. It turned out better than I imagined. She loved it so much she cried! The cake was so tasty! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a cake for a special occasion!

Im nothing less than amazed at the talent that goes into creating these cakes. Not only do they look amazing they taste amazing as well. I found this cute local bakery when searching for Keto snacks. EVERYONE at the bakery has been wonderful, professional and friendly every time I have stopped at the bakery. My grandson LOVED his experience last week buying “nacks” for his 3 aunties and 1 uncle that we went and delivered at each one’s work. He even told his aunties about wanting his Mickey cake for his birthday in June.Thank you ladies!!!!!
