Im in love with this place! Its a small cute coffee shop with lots of goodies, awesome cookies, delicious beef empenadas, and they also has a lavender syrup which I absolutely love. The guy who works here is so nice, we love coming here to work or just for relaxing time.

Cozy mom and pop coffee shop in San Mateo. Ordered a shot of espresso and a delicious latte. They also sell lots of breakfast items and other goodies. Reasonable prices and great service. Outdoor seating if its not too cold for you.

We were walking by this location when we decided to stop and rest. It seems to be a traditional college town hangout for coffee and snacks, with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The coffee turns out to be excellent; they roast it themselves and have done so for ten years. Well certainly return and tell our friends about the coffee shop!

I think this place is underrated. The coffee is well made, the staff are very friendly, the and the desserts and snacks are very interesting and well picked. Not to mention that they’re very quick. Was going to Philz almost every morning, but I prefer this now.

And they know how to make a mean latte, caring more about the foam than in making an artful design in it.

New to working in the area and figured Id give this place a try. Cold brew is not their game. Had a few sips and threw the rest out. Atmosphere was great. Maybe Ill try the espresso in the future.

What a lovely place. Staff very friendly and efficient. Very accommodating and it was so lovely to have vegan and vegetarian options and also soya milk as I am dairy free. The place was fresh and clean and prices very reasonable. Staying at Campbell guest house. The owner recommended “Twoten for breakfast. I’m so glad I listen to local advice. It was just 3 minutes walk. When walking in you just knew instantly why it’s rated so high.

I’m an out of towner looking for a good iced latte. The reviews led me here and I’m very happy. In addition I tried a Russian tea cake which is very tasty. Not scenic but a couple of small tables out front are pleasant on a sunny day.

My favorite coffee place! 3 bees quickly became my go to place whenever I felt like a good coffee or just spending some time outside my apartment watching the downtown shoppers and San Mateo regulars. Love their cafe mocha, their breakfast burritos ( sourced fresh everyday, theyre delicious) and croissants.

Absolutely the best coffee shop in Downtown. The people that work there remember your order and are always extremely friendly. They have a wide selection of snacks and breakfast items. If you want a quick breakfast in the morning that doesnt need to be prepared by a cook, this is the place to come. Their drinks are always top quality.

Amazing coffee

Good coffee, really friendly staff. The breakfast burritos were alright. Expected the veggie burrito to have a bit more veggies but it was pretty much only potatoes. But the woman at the counter was really nice and accommodating.

Cute little coffee shop, good for an informal meeting. But: there was no air conditioning on a VERY hot day. Also, another patron was td off by our too loud conversation, but sent only dirty looks (we didnt notice) until we were leaving, whereupon he laid into us verbally. Very unfriendly....

Nice fancy place. Love the set up. Very artistic and hipster place. Breakfast on Sunday was pretty busy. I had grilled portobello and eggs. It was delicious and healthy. Breakfast red potato was really good!

A great local coffee shop. Rafat makes excellent lattes with consistent quality. They have a tremendous variety of flavors, my favorite is the Irish Creme.Theres also a great variety of food. The alfajores are top notch. Lots of stuff is locally sourced or organic or even vegan (and sometimes all three).

Its a nice small coffee shop on the street. I love the atmosphere and the Christmas decorations here. However the two ladies working here dont seem happy.... They have a poker face today..

Nice, mellow folks either side of coffee bar. I enjoy my time there getting the news over their WiFi. There is a quite TV with subtitles. Never really crowded mostly small groups talking, readers or those pounding computer keys, its nice. WiFi? Yes.

My favorite coffee spot of all time! All the drinks coffee or not are delicious! The assortment of goodies is fantastic. From breakfast sandwiches to alfajores to fresh pastries you cant go wrong. I would say I come to this place once a week and its always such a treat :) The spot is cozy and staff is extremely welcoming! Definitely better than any Starbucks or Peets coffee in the area. One of my favorite local businesses.You can also find them now inside the San Mateo Public Library on 3rd Ave in San Mateo!

This is a great local cafe and one of the few that I know that still serves torrefazione coffee. Prices are reasonable and not usually crowded. However, the lighting inside is too dim for me.

I had very high expectation but I came out disappointed. Their espresso macchiato was just okay, not real Italian. Also, it was served on a paper cup though I was consuming it at the coffee shop.

My drink is an almond milk latte, and its hard to find almond milk that isnt too sweet, or espresso that isnt too burnt. At 3Bees I can get a decent drink quickly, they remember my order, and its near lots of downtown shopping.

Coffee was terrible, it reminded me of airplane coffee. Took 2 sips and threw it out. Ended up going across the street and grabbing Peets.

Was out of egg nog for an egg nog latte so I ordered a mocha. They use cocoa powder instead of syrup and it turned out great. Temperature was spot on as well. Good blend of chocolate and coffee flavor.

I love this coffee shop, and I really like how close it is to my work. I will stop here almost every morning to get a Chai Tea Latte and sometimes a pastry. The staff here are very friendly.

Its ok. Id stick to the coffee here. Its not a coffee and other stuff but kinda place. The chai tea was flavorless and I found the coffee cake to be bland and dry. Perhaps I picked the wrong cake lovingly reviewed by others?

I came to 3 Bees cafe to get coffee and a bagel while I study. I got the iced coffee and the sundried tomato bagel. The coffee was good and I really liked the bagel. Most places have the sundried tomato mixed in with the cream cheese. This place served actual sundried tomato with creamcheese in addition to it, it was so tasty. The atmosphere was also really cozy and great for studying. I came around 8:30 and there was plenty of seats open. Also the cashier seemed to know a lot of the regulars, which is always nice. I would definitely come back!

Friendly staff and comfortable mellow vibe to do work. Lots of people on laptops and plugged into outlets, meaning people stay for hours and dont get chased out. I had a yummy vanilla latte (although the barista forgot to add the vanilla and I had to go back to her to add it) and an even yummier empanada. Thats why I love California, you can get an epanada and a latte, and both will be good. I would definitely go back and appreciated that it was quiet enough to work, but not too quiet that I was afraid to pick up a phone call or talk to my friend.
