I love this place. Been going there since 2010 and they continue to surprise me.Recent eye exam, followed by eye glass fitting, order, delivery and final adjustments have me at 2020. Kiersten and Donna are amazing accommodating office staff. Highly recommend San Ramon family optometry to all.
Amazing serviceWill recommend to all my friends. Everyone was helpful and very professional. Megan Bryner was wonderful knowledgeable and patientThank you SRFO
This place is not customer/patient friendly. They are not patient and not flexible. My entire family booked appointment at this place. After my wife’s check up we decided to cancel rest of the appointments.
I went to San Ramon Family Optometry to upgrade by dark glasses to the same prescription as my reading glasses. Even with Covid protocols everyone is very friendly and makes every effort to make you feel comfortable, especially Stacey. She will treat you like a family friend and is most helpful with making any decision about glasses selection. She will spend time finding out what your needs and desires are with glasses and insure that you satisfied with your selection. My wife and I feel Stacey deserves 12 stars. We will definitely be returning to San Ramon Family Optometry, in the future, for our glasses needs.
Their office was closed suddenly for a couple days. I couldnt get a hold of them over the phone. I swung by their office and saw a sign on the door saying theyre closed (I had a scheduled appointment the next day). Is this business still in operation ... ?Update: I got a call back eventually, and they were able to reschedule my appointment.
We needed a last minute appointment for glasses/frames and Jasmine and Sherry went above and beyond our expectations to accommodate us! They treat us as family- the reason our whole family has been getting care here for the last 15+ years!
Everyone was so kind and patient. I had to try on 3 different contacts and get help to make sure I could put them on. I felt like I was taking up their time but, they reassured me that I was important and wanted me to be comfortable, happy and, know how to use my new contacts before I left. From beginning to end very kind and thoughtful.
Stay away. They charged premium price for glasses and delivered them without a box
I had my glasses made at San Ramon Family Optometry few months ago in February. After wearing my glasses for a weeks, I realized the lenses required some adjustments. But I could not get any help due to shelter-in-place. By the time I felt safe to go to the optometrist, the warranty of my lenses already expired. Thankfully with the help from Sherry Barsoum, she was able to work with the lense manufacturer to replace my lense at no cost. It has been a wonderful experience. Thank you very much Sherry.
I absolutely love SRFO! I look forward to my visits every year. They are friendly and professional . They are so honest about how frames look on me. I often time leave without the glasses that were my favorite and end up loving their suggestions because they fit my face better! I recommend them 100%! They also work with me on my financial budget for glasses! They are patient ! It’s a great place ! I highly recommend them !
The service here is great. Its not cheap, even with insurance it cost me a pretty penny (all costs were at the top range of my co-pays for services). But I spent almost no time in the waiting room and went from one test to the next really quickly. They also spent a lot of time helping me pick out frames and were really friendly and personable.
I cant say enough good things about this place. The doctors are fantastic. They really know their stuff! Quick and efficient exams, the best technology on the market, and everyone is always smiling. Stephanie, the Front Desk Manager, is the absolute best. She knows everything there is to know about your visit and is always so willing to help.If you are in the East Bay, give them a shot. You wont be disappointed!A very satisfied customer!
I’ve been a patient at SR Family Optometry for 27 years and continue to be delighted. Loved my experience with Optician Megan Bryner following my son’s exam. She was one of the most efficient opticians ive has the pleasure to work with, while still provided all the information I needed and swiftly moving through options. What has literally taken 2hrs in the past was a swift 50min visit to the SR 𝘍𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺 Optometry office.
Great service....prompt, knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. This is the finest optometry operation I have experienced in many years.
Summary (TLDR):1. I was pressured into buying more expansive glasses with new type of lenses (Shamir Workspace) and was told I could return them within 90 days.2. I had to fight with the optometry and my insurer (VSP) to obtain some compensation after returning Workspace glasses that did not work for me and ordering a new fixed vision pair;3. I have lost trust in the doctor whose prescriptions seem grossly incorrect to me (photo attached). The story:I was a long term customer of San Ramon Family Optometry. I no longer am.I had an appointment on 01/28/2020 with Dr. Mah. He issued a prescription and recommended for me to try a new type of lenses: Shamir Workspace – some new kind of progressive occupational lenses. I have never had progressives before. Then I talked with the sales representative Ms. Morrison. We chose a frame and some options for lenses. The total came up to a considerable amount, so I hesitated. Ms. Morrison informed me that I will have 90 days to return the glasses if I disliked them. This seemed comfortable, so I paid.In about two weeks I picked up my Shamir Workspace glasses and tried to use them at work. The experience was terrible, I ended up disoriented and with a headache. The same day I came back to the optometry office, returned the glasses and was asked to schedule another appointment. I did not understand why.On 03/03/2020 I had another appointment with Dr. Mah. He checked my eyes again, issued another prescription and this time recommended the usual “fixed” lenses. Then I spoke with Ms. Morrison again and asked for a PRICE ADJUSTMENT because the Workspace lenses I returned were more expansive than the fixed ones I was getting now. To my surprise, I was told that I need to negotiate with my insurer – VSP – to get this settled.I called VSP, explained the situation, and was told that the optometry can easily take care of this price issue by negating the previous order and generating a new one. Very strange, I thought. I called Ms. Morrison and re-told what VSP representative had said. Ms. Morrison said that she needed to talk to her manager.Ms. Morrison called back in about a week and asked me if I can provide the name of the VSP representative I have talked to. I said I don’t remember. Then she suggested I call VSP again. I’m sorry, but this is ridiculous. Why is a customer required to talk with VSP again when I’ve been told that the optometry can easily take care of the situation? So, I called VSP again and talked to another representative – Kim. After hearing my explanations, Kim said she will call the optometry and then get in touch with me. She did. As a result of this I got a $100 compensation check. Thank you for that, but I believe it’s not the full difference in price between the two pairs of glasses. At this point, I was pretty frustrated with the whole experience. Paying way more than I expected, getting the glasses that I cannot use, returning them but HAVING TO FIGHT for the price adjustment. This is not the end though. Out of curiosity, I compared the two prescriptions I got from Dr. Mah and discovered that my left eye prescription strength has “changed” from +2.25 to +1.75 within a month!? (I have attached a photo of the prescriptions to this post.) How could that be? What is this supposed to mean? Am I not understanding something here? Was it a negligence on doctor’s behalf? Was it the equipment that was badly calibrated? I have no idea. What I DO HAVE an idea about is that I lost my trust in San Ramon Family Optometry. I have been aggressively marketed to purchase glasses much more expensive than I was used to; I had to fight with my insurer over the price adjustment (after I returned the glasses that did not work for me); and finally, I have lost trust in the doctor whose prescriptions, I believe, are incorrect.People, thank you for reading my rant to the end. Make a choice for yourselves. Form your own opinion and have a good day.
The best experience!!! I have never had such a complete eye exam. The staff-from the front desk to the back office was warm and wonderful. The Dr was amazing!!!!! I was entertained while being treated. I will be bringing my kids back for their exams.
I have been a patient of Dr. Wong for many years. Her care and professionalism is outstanding. She makes me feel very comfortable during my exams. Jasmine is truly an asset to the office. She took the time to help me decide what frames looked best on me and my order was processed and received ahead of schedule. Looking foward to my next appointment at her new location at San Ramon Family Optometry.
Another 5 stars for the family Optometry staffs.Ms. Sherry and Kiersten are very professional, personable, communicates well and has great customer service. Family Optometry is lucky to have them.Optical office is really clean, I feel safe during this COVID time, they disinfect all touch point every each patient.
I have been a patient of Dr. Erik Smiths for many years. He has always been very involved and personally committed in assuring that my eye health remains good. This is a professional that cares for his patients and community and is the type of person that becomes like family over time. His staff is well educated and eager to assist in making the right decisions regarding eye wear styles and the multitude of lens options now available. I highly recommend this optometry.
A 20-year patient of San Ramon Family Optometry. Why so loyal? The knowledgeable and personable doctors. The excellent support staff whether in testing, assisting in frame selection, placing lenses orders, adjusting frame fit, and the receptionists--all are knowledgeable and out to make the customer feel comfortable and important. The location is central to San Ramon, Danville, Dublin, and other nearby communities. The office is pleasant, clean, and well-lighted.
Weve been coming here for five years. The full spectrum of optometry services means we get everything we need in one stop. The staff are amazing and we always have fun with them - and fun picking out interesting frames from their selection too.
Simply the best care you will get for your eyes!! They are all professional, super helpful, and the fitting part of the entire process is very meticulously done so you are assured you receive your glasses in perfect condition and fit for your eyes. Love this!
Just went in for an eye appointment as always (yearly) we had been treated really well. The exam itself was very thorough and am very pleased with the treatment I got. Very informative and before each test they explain what they want to accomplish.Tons of selections on frames, for the whole family needs, always feel I had been taken care of, after you leave!
I was impressed by the kindness and efficiency of the staff. I had a very thorough exam and selected the most beautiful glasses.
Awesome selection of eyeglasses, love my new glasses that i purchased there, they have a variety of different styles so i was able to try on different types till i found the ones that fit me according to my style, size and comfort. doctors are very knowledgeable, ive known the Smiths for about 3 years now and they have always been very thorough with my eye exam. Its a professional and friendly atmosphere,i have recommended all my friends and family with eyeglass needs to come try this office out and will continue to recommend this place :)
Dr. Erik Smith is an outstanding eye doctor and we are really happy that we had opportunity to take our 5 years old son to him. He took care of everything for my son and we are following his instructions. This office has the latest technology as well.
Hello, beware!!!These people lead you into a trap by recommending unnecessary add on for you glasses. They also ask you to sign a paper before placing order for your glasses which is the trap door. No service in US is as bad as this. We can never cancel our order . We loose all our money if we want to reconsider our decision. Please don’t go for this service provider.I had a terrible experience.
Had a GREAY experience with San Ramon Family Optometry. I can’t evrn remember my last eye exam and the nurses and Dr. Mah were so thorough and explained everything along the way.Melonie, was a HUGE help picking out my new glasses. She went through all the frame details and what markers she was looking for in a frame to fit my face and style.Got the whole rest of the family scheduled for updated eye exams.
Exam done by Sue Ristow. She is great, gets the job and done has a conversation with you at the same time. I felt that she really looked out for my best interest.
I have been a patient of Dr. Beverly Smiths for 25 years and have always received excellent care. As a person with high myopia, I am very particular about the care I receive. Dr. Smith is thorough and is truly concerned about the well-being of her patients. In addition, She takes the time to know each of her patients and their family. Her office staff and opticians are knowledgeable about their products and treat the patients with respect. I have never felt like I was being pushed to buy a more expensive frame or the extras. I highly recommend Dr. Smith and her staff to those who need excellent eye care.
My whole family has been coming here for years. Lots of options for office hours for our busy schedules and lots of doctors to choose from. Their frames are pricey so we go elsewhere to buy our glasses, but great thorough eye exams!
Dr. Victoria Chui, the front desk and the frame specialists are great. Dr. Chui explains everything she is doing, so you can be a part of your own eye exam. The frame specialists are helpful and very knowledgeable. The front desk is so helpful and efficient. I would highly recommend SR Family Optometry to all my family and friends!
I love SRFO. They have a “can do” attitude and are friendly and competent. Everything is always explained well so that I leave understanding my eye health fully. They have the best selection of eyewhere in the Bay Area and their trained eyewear specialists are a big help!
I have been going to San Ramon Family Optometry Inc for over ten years. The doctors are great but I will never buy glasses from them again. I tried 3 times and 3 time I got glasses that I was unhappy with. Costco from now on!
I have been Dr Erik Smiths patient for 14 years and counting. I started taking my entire family to him and everyone in my family is very satisfied with his care.
I would recommend this place to everyone
