This place is great! They have a vast variety of greens and spices. They have a great selection of produce as well. This place offers hot meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and desserts that are decently priced and very tasty. I recommend the masala dosa it’s like a potatoes in a crepe dish. The mango lassie and rose milk are very good as well.
A good supermarket with all kinds of Indian grocery one would need. It was my first visit to check out the quality and merchandise since I normally buy from another nearby Indian store.Luckily I got Amul Cow Ghee that wasnt available elsewhere. Not sure why they had stuck a note of Vegetable Oil on some Ghee cans. Pics attached. Cashier confirmed its ghee only.I was surprised to see so many people buying vegetables that didnt seem to be of a great quality. I wouldnt choose to buy veggies here. For groceries, its a tad bit costlier than my other option so shall visit occasionally only. Also tried Samosa at Swagruha Foods cafe inside Vijetha. Priced at 99 cents each. These come with cilantro and tamarind chutneys. It was not freshly fried, not sure how old but we were told its reheated. Tasted good. I know another place in San Ramon where Samosa is priced same but comes with more chutney and tastes better. I planned to try Dosa but since they were packing it, didnt find it worth to pay $9 for no table service.
Two items I wanted were not ready immediately. So I ordered Samosa chaat. Its been more than 10 minutes. I see people lazing around and with no other customers, not preparing my order. Ridiculous customer service. Wouldn’t want to come back ever!!Treat your customers well if you want to see more people come back. Thanks.
Large Indian grocery shop. Very well organized. They have a food court inside with good menus. Yet try the food court but I bet it’s good.
The food here is not of the standard of South Bay. You have to careful that you dont get stale food. My entire family got sick after eating food from Swagruha foods.Just because the kitchen is open doesnt mean the food (including chutney etc...) hasnt been left outside for a long time or hasnt gone bad.The tray used for samosas is kept on the floor (not on the counter)
Havent seen such a organized shop, spacious and superbly managed. I love this shop that u get 98% in your list in so very less time in searching. Veggies and fruits were also very fresh even though when I visited was lately at 9pm. More over the restaurant they run was also neat and more than that the taste was so much good just like the south Indian should be without unwanted masalas and oilish. It was so light and good. Im lucky to have this shop as its close to my location. Try tomato chutney which is finger linking good!
Pretty disappointed with the place!! First, they dont display prices for any of the items, so buyer beware, be prepared to be shocked at prices charged AFTER you checkout! Isnt it illegal (?!l) not to display prices for items in the store ? WTH. Secondly, we ordered takeout from the kitchen/ restaurant, and they didnt give all the items we ordered and second another item in the menu was different that what was listed on the menu board (Thali was missing Roti). No remorse expressed for the shoddy customer experience, I was offered store credit for the missing items, really!! Not going back here
This review is for the kitchen in the grocery store. The chaat was very good. As close as it gets to a Mumbai chat. The pani puri was very tasty with the the ragada we are used to. The bhel puri was super crunchy and very tasty. Must visit place for the chaat there
This market has a great variety of Indian spices, rice, seasonings, amd everything else. They even have a cafe in the rear of the store that makes fresh food to order for takeout. On my way to the counter, I stopped by the cold case and grabbed a Thumbs Up and Guava Nectar for our meal to-go.
The store is decent. The vegetables could be a lot fresher, go to New India Bazaar in Dublin if you want better veggies and fresh. The restaurant in the back needs to be improved. Order is always wrong, most items on the menu are unavailable, the service is very slow (30 minutes to get idli/vada), and finally the chaat will make you SICK. FOOD IS STALE!
Groceries are good. Produce is average. Food court should be avoided.
I was very surprised to meet a fellow Tamilian at this supermarket. Her name is Jamuna. She was a pleasant and helpful person. She guided me to the different spices I was shopping for and made my trip to the supermarket an enjoyable experience. I look forward to seeing her again.
I asked for idli, didn’t give me sambaar, called an hour before to prepare idli batter, when I got there it took another 30 minutes to prepare. Like what is this service. Owners please fix these problems
They used to have awesome tasting brands. This was my third time when the snack brands they keep tasted stale or gone outright bad. This used to be our go to market even when we had other nearby options. We decided to give up on them after last three bad experiences. Their service and variety is good though, if you don’t care about the taste. To the mgmt: why do you stop keeping brands that actually make tasty food? Trying new brands is a good idea, but removing the tested brands to replace the new ones broke the deal!!
Dont order for pickup, worst ever.
Awesome takeout. Jaangri was excellent. Mysore bonda was superb.
Nice little economical place. Their chaats are very good.
This is an excellent store to shop for Indian grocery, vegetables and food. There is also a cafe that sells Indian vegetarian takeout food. Weekends are very busy, so, plan on going on a week day. I highly recommend this store.
Clean and spacious store. Now has a snack bar making fresh food. Could use more lighting.
A Indian grocery shop which is up and growing and with addition of freshly prepared snacks it is very popular to go and shop
They have fresh vegetables almost everyday & have lot of varieties. From the food side, we like the paneer curry & Veg pakora. The staff are nice & kind especially PJ.
Good selection of Indian spices and packaged foods. Just a little bit of fresh but those can be bought in other supermarkets. Mostly its for flavors and some frozen as well. I wouldnt call the staff overly friendly though.
I bought goat meat here yesterday. It looked fine before cooking and it tasted terrible after cooking and it seems it went bad and we couldnt even find out before cooking. Dont buy mutton here unless you want to end up in hospital.
Excellent service! Very friendly workers and clean environment!
The store is good no doubt. But,now they have opened kitchen and the whole store is smoky. Hope they fix the problem soon, may be a strong exhaust would help.
03/2021 Clean, well-organized shop with nice staff. Unfortunately, 90% of the items that I want to buy have no price labels. If I really need it, I will pick it up and find out how much it is at the register, but usually I just wait to purchase these things elsewhere.07/2021 update: There is now a small eatery with tables at the rear. The daily special for $10 included a substantial chutney, two vegetable dishes, lentil stew, spiced rice, and white rice or roti. It was delicious and genuinely spicy. If you prefer less spice, there are other menu items like dosa, samosa. As for groceries, most of them had prices, but there were several items I needed, but did not buy here because they were not priced.
Great food. Very good option for Indian grocery. Loved the chaat. The Mori Masala is amazing. off menu and very tasty.
This place has been very well stocked and managed in the beginning. However, lately me and my wife have experienced 3 occurences where the person at the checkout billed us $1 more than the labelled price. So, be careful and keep an eye on the label price when checking out. If this happens to me again, Im going to report them to the consumer department.
This review is specifically for their kitchen. It doesn’t look like they are running a professional kitchen. The first time I went the food was good so I went second time in a span of one week and here we go. The entire food is super cold. Who In the world serve stone cold idlis. Sambhar is as bad as it can get. The dosa was super cold. And I am saying it’s cold because I ordered it in the store and ate it in my car with my family. My 4 year old loves idlis and he just refused to ate it because it was really hard and super cold.I recommend you maintain some consistency with the food.
One of the worst indian market Ive been to. They person at the billing counter is careless and never responds. Not sure what she thinks. Very poor customer attention. When asked for anything she never responds. If there is any consumer case against the shop Ill be happy. Always over priced ! Just go to next indian store (Namastae plaza) which is 2 mins away from it, I do not recommend this shop. Bad attitude
The girl at billing counter never answers any query and always bills wrong and gives not caring attitude.. felt really bad at her low patience ..
Good and honest staff makes all the difference! Good store with all varieties of indian stuff available. Once I had one item on the bill mentioned incorrectly. The guy at the counter figured out from memory which product he meant to bill when he checked me out an hour ago (one wrong digit of product code had caused the issue) ..and refunded me the extra amount right away! Cant wait for the kitchen area to open with Indian street food items!!
Horribly expensive. Cust service very bad - These people like chatting among themselves when there are customers waiting.
Good quality and the portion is fair.
Bought goat meat (mutton) pack here yesterday and went bad today. Dont buy the goat meat here
WELL STOCKED. PLEASANT STAF CONDUCT.
You can find a-z items means every Indian items. Available fresh vegetables and all variety frozen and all grocery items. Nothing to complain
Decent place.good place for a quick last minute shopping or in a emergency
Expensive and higher prices than other stores nearby. Good selection.
Cute spot... Will visit if Im in the area again!
Love there samosa
Nice fresh vegetables! Great prices
Wish we had one of these in Arizona.Great selection, love the staff, bring the credit card...you might need it because you are going to want to buy one of everything
Price, availability and quality - just perfect. One trip and groceries stocked for weeks. Very friendly staff.
My go to for all Indian groceries. Friendly staff and wide variety of products
They have a good selection of Indian products at reasonable prices. Parking can be difficult
The place where I get all my condiments for Indian and mediterranean cuisine. Great prices for black pepper, cumin, coriander, curry, Cashmere chilli, Garam Marsala
Great variety, tons of space. They have a really good frozen section. They are going to have a ready made food section in the back where you can order hot food ToGo!!!
A ton of cool items and incredible cashier speed
10 mins to shop for groceries but had to wait 10 mins to make payment, only 1 counter was open.
Good number of groceries and vegetables. They offer discounts and accepts returns too. Good customer support. Think of buying grated coconut rather the raw one.
9/29/19 approximately 1pmI am new to Indian cooking and needed help finding some very basic items which I had no clue on even what I was looking for.I asked the young lady at the register for help finding my needed Items and rather than just point me in the right direction she left her register and came out and showed me where to find them. ...very much appreciated!
Very nice Indian Supermarket in San Ramon. The services are good and the people are very nice. You could easily find each and everything that you are looking for from a big thing to even the minutest like Maggi Magic Masala. They also serve tea as complimentary as well as the Samosa are very tasty
Ridiculously overpriced. Just drive a mile more to windmill farms and your $100 grocery bill will come down to $50.
One of the best Indian grocery stores
Fresh fruit and meat. Well organized shelves.
I always go to the Vijetha store in San Ramon to do Indian groceries. I like how the store is well organized and staff is polite and awesome especially Pravalika and Ravi to name a few. There is another gentlemen with Specs who is really helpful. I always have wonderful experience finding all the Indian grocery that I need.I had ordered a few groceries from Vijetha on Sunday and it was delivered on time although some items were missing and the quality of the vegetables was not up to the mark. I tried to call but store was busy so nobody picked up. I wrote an email about my experience. Within a few hours I received a call from Ravi where he apologized and promised to send a replacement. I was not expecting but tonight he himself came with the items at around 10:30 pm. I was really impressed. I highly recommend it.Review for the kitchen service in the back- I was a little skeptical to order food at the counter. I was waiting for a while for the only customer they were serving. I placed my order. They had only one lady who was handling register as well as filling the food. I had to wait for 15 mins just to get 2 curries packed and 2 parathas warming up. She helped another couple of non indian customers making me wait. When reminded she said she needs to make raita for the paratha and pack achar. I went to the front register and completed my transaction ogf the other items I bought in the store and returned back. To my surprise, she had forgotten and started working on raita by cutting onions. I was getting late and asked her just for yogurt. Finally got my items.Paneer curry - worst tasting paneer butter masala I have ever tried in my life. You can not make a gravy by adding tomato puree and cream with paneer boiling just a little bit. The paneer tasted as it was expired.Dosa - ok tasteCauliflower fry - tasteless and extremely oily.Gobhi paratha - I do not understand why they named it gobhi paratha. It was thin as a roti. We had hard time chewing. No taste at all.I have had ordered panipuri and dahipuri after eating I had sour throat for 3 days. The store is really good but the kichen is a disaster. Please save your money and buy food from a better place.
Its nicely organized. Staff is helpful if youre unable to find something.. they also have discounts on $100 purchase
Fully stocked. Very nice service.
It’s a good place to shop for Indian food. The store is actually quite spacious and clean, compared to other Indian stores. There is a huge variety of different goods, and the vegetables and fruit are fresh. However, prices are not cheap. Overall, it is a good place to go to if you are in the area.
Used to have fresh vegetables of A1 quality. A bit pricey but the quality and freshness made up for it. Over last few months the quality has gone down and so we go ONLY when we dont feel like going further to New India Bazaar in Dublin.
Awesome grocery shop, they keep almost all Indian grocery items! They offer free tea on weekend. Tried hom made Samosa and tea at their store, its too good!
Good variety of fresh indian vegetables produce
Great inventory, friendly people. Lots and lots of different items. I felt like if I couldnt find something... its like I really dont need it.
Great selection and friendly staff. Very clean.
Good selection of vegetables fruits and Indian groceries. Its neat and tidy and the cashiers are very helpful and polite.
Contains all the essentials required for an Indian household. Walking distance away from my place. Also the vegetables are fresh. They keep fresh samoas to eat and also different varieties of sweets.
This review is specific to the precooked Roties. I specifically asked the cashier, Are these Roties fresh? She answered with a yes. However, we found out that the Roties were at least two days old. We had to throw it away.
Fantastic Indian grocery store which is extremely organized and well-maintained with fresh fruits and vegetables all the time keep it up
Prices are very high... I have picked the items which price/lb or price/item was not specified and they were billed double/triple the price of other stores and it’s happened to me couple of times
Nice helpful people work there, provide a lot of what youd need for cooking any Pakistani/Indian food
Nice and spacious. Great quality produce. Well organized and great customer service.
Usually well stocked. Prices are standard. Took one star away as sometimes the veggies are not totally fresh.
On today’s visit 5/8/20, I noticed that all the item were at the same shelf as my last visit in early March but the price tags have been removed from more than 50% . Bad business practice. Won’t shop here anymore.
After buying things, you can never return the product. They never give money back. Only exchange. If we dont want to buy anything, that doesnt matter for them. They convince you to pick other stuff for the same price you paid.
Clean place to shop
Veggies and fruits are always fresh and you will find most of the seasonal Indian veggies for better price
Good variety of groceries but, it would help if they cleaned up a little more.
Everything is fresh. Very friendly and approachable.
Great store for all our purchases. Nice and clean. Staff is friendly.
Its quite big and pretty decently organized for a grocery store. Still clean as its relatively new, will comment in a bit if they maintain it.
Big indian grocery, toy can get pretty my g everything here.
Must visit place for Indians in San Ramon. It has all the Indian spices; flours; veggies and even pickles papads etc. A hot cup of Masala chai is on the house too.
Fresh veggies ..place is also kept neat and tidy..they also sell samosas, veg puffs .. recently also saw fish and meat in their freezer..never tried though
Its not bad. For any urgent needs and quick buy this location will help.
Its nice Indian groceries please. Also, people are nice here.
Very well maintained Indian grocery store in try-valley. Fresh vegetables everyday.
Awesome store. Very clean and well stocked
Very good store for Indian groceries and produce. They have excellent Samosa as well.
New owners. Lots of frozen items. Bulk spices now in smaller packages for more money and less variety. Wont be going back, sadly.
Very good store for Indian grocery shopping. Best customer service!
One of the best organised Indian stores in Bay area.great variety of products.
Clean store, wide aisles, good selection of merchandise, helpful staff.
Very good..keeps all the necessary grocery items for desi..
A large number of grocery varieties are available. A variety of vegetables & fruits are also available, but these are fresh only for day or two, subject to arrival of new consignment of fruits & vegetables.
This is decent place specially for indian grocery shopping after change in management. The prices are higher than what it was earlier when it was sikandar cash and carry.
You will get all the indian groceries at a reasonable price.
Its expensive, isnt worth paying extra to get more options.I always value for my money, and this Indian grocery store isnt anywhere close to value for money.I could not find even a single item with either on the same price range as of Namaste Plaza(hardly a mile away).I would like to come here only when I dont find anything at other stores.
