Tabitha is the absolute best! If you are looking for a new stylist I HIGHLY recommend her. Honestly the most amazing head massage/shampoo I’ve ever had. She took her time to ensure everything was perfect and I couldn’t be happier! Go see her!!

I made an appointment on 9/30 for 10/01 for a style. No color, cut or anything else just a style. I spoke with Jordan about bringing my 9-month-old daughter with me and he stated that it would not be a problem. He told me that they would be able to bring a chair and put it next to me so I could have my daughter right there in her car seat. Flash Forward to the next day, I get there for my appointment and I am immediately greeted by the manager who stated that I was not allowed to have my daughter at the appointment with me because it is against the law to have a child on the salon floor. She then stated that if I was able to take my daughter else where that they would be able to reschedule my appointment for a later date. I then asked to speak to a manager when she then stated she was the manager. I stated to her that I spoke with Jordan yesterday and he assured me this was not a problem. She then told me that Jordan is simply only their call center rep who makes the appointments for them and he has no idea what he is talking about. I am absolutely floored at the lack of communication between the school and the call center reps that make their appointments for them. I am a stay-at-home mom who doesnt get out much due to only having one income so this appointment was very special to me. Paul Mitchells School completely ruined my special day for me all because of a lack of communication. I will never be going back there.

I’m rating this school a 2 due to the lack of professionalism. I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist for 10 years, and even a front desk manager at a day spa. Walking into the school I was not greeted by the receptionist KiKi, I had to greet her. Upon not being greeted her demeanor was negative! While receiving my color service, Rachel was very friendly, professional and polite! My overall experience WITH Rachel was phenomenal! My hair turned out better than I truly expected! As Rachel walked me back up front to check out, i was ignored by KiKi due to a conversation she had to finish up with someone else while biting into a pickle! She didn’t ask me how my experience was, or even if I liked my results!I was taken back by how horrible KiKi is as a receptionist and that the school simply allows it. It’s setting a horrible example for the students, and as a customer coming into a school I’ve never been to, I would expect some type of greeting, even a simple “hello” as I approach the desk.Overall, I love my hair. The color is amazing! I think the school could have better employees and maybe more education to help set examples and prep the students so they have some type of standards and overall experience once they graduate and get into a real salon.

I regularly visit Paul Mitchell salon for color, highlights and a haircut. The atmosphere is vibrant, upbeat and professional. The students are well trained. They do a better job than some expensive salon colorists/stylists do. I wont go anywhere else.

This was my first time here, and I was impressed with everything. I will definitely be back. I absolutely love how my hair turned out. I had a full head of foil highlights, toner and then cut and styled.

Amazing experience. I brought my daughters in to get their hair done and not only did they do an amazing job on that, but they both had nothing but great things to say about their hair technicians. The staff made sure to run everything by me to ensure I approved as well as went over the prices before they started. Based on everything, well definitely be back!

I tried calling to make an appointment for a manicure. The receptionist was SO rude an unwilling to assist me in making an appointment that work with their school schedule an my work schedule. There were exceptionally long pauses after I spoke, like I was inconveniencing her. She would only say not available when I suggested a day/time rather than telling me what WAS available.I figured if this was the type of service they offer, I will not be making an appointment here.

Good place for hair color and hair cuts. The girls are always supervised. They are future professionals. You tell them what you want.

I got an all over color by Kelley, and let me say he did an amazing job! I had a blast chatting during the service and he completely transformed my hair!

I went in to get a hair color and cut. Cassie did a wonderful job and took the time to show me how to make beachy waves. Everyone was very nice from the desk person to instructor and Cassie my stylist. I would recommend this school well worth my money.

I wish you could review your technicians separately because my stylist I ended up with did a great job. The 1st thing thats off is the parking for customers. The students have the parking lot so full I had to park at CVS. Then the appointment tech was either extra late or a no show (CAN WE SAY BAD BUSINESS STUDENT OR NOT). Then its like the students invited their friend in to practice on and they were in clothes that were bed clothes. It seemed a bit unorganized. Ill only return to support my stylist until she graduates.

I had a horrible experience. I went in for highlights and left with orange hot spots all over. Then I paid again to see a level 2 and wanted to leave in tears. I ended up spending a lot of money. My hair feels really damaged and I still have like 2 inches of dark roots. I seriously regret going here!!!

Just went to get my hair done here and did not have the best experience. I am usually not someone who writes bad reviews but I hope my feedback can improve the salon in the future. First of all, they left me with my hair completely soaked. I walked outside in the snow with my hair soaked (also gave me a headache). My appointment was scheduled at 1:30 and I had no idea they closed at 4:30 and my hair took too long so they said they weren’t going to have time to dry it. If time was an issue do not schedule clients at 1:30 when you know their service is going to take more time. I’m completely disappointed on how my hair turned out. The whole process felt very unprofessional and rushed. I also did not get what I wanted. One side of my hair is lighter than the other, it’s way lighter than I wanted it, it looks very unnatural. Overall just extremely disappointed and wish I could get my money back.

Today was the first time Ive been to Paul Mitchell The School and I went for Claire H. to dye my hair. I am absolutely impressed and will definitely be going back. I got my hair dyed a wine red and Claire did a fantastic job. She was very professional and was easy to talk to. The color came out beautifully and the price cant be beat.

I’m a student at this location and all I wanna say, is if you’re looking to go to beauty school, go somewhere else. The learning curriculum is a monstrosity and they play favorites with students. There are girls from my same core class who have had dozens of guests, and a couple of others girls and I have had one, Maybe two guests. The learning leaders (with the exception of like 2 or 3 of them) are extremely rude to not only guests, but students as well. I’ve been at this school for 4 months, and they’ve shown me almost everything I already knew how to do (all over color, all over lightener, highlights, etc.) I believe at a point this school was good, but it’s not anymore. All they care about is money. You would think that since you pay 18k to go, that you wouldn’t have to pay to use products on your dollhead for boxes you need for class right? Wrong. One of my friends went to do her dolls head and AFTER she got the color on, they told her she had to pay for it. Even though someone watched her mix it, and continued to let her put it on her dollhead. My friend was out $30 that day, that she could have very well needed, 30 dollars ain’t for just throwing around at this point in time. I have a few learning leaders on mind that are frustrating and don’t really help at all, such as Hillary and Courtney. Hillary is also known to talk bad things about students to other learning leaders. In short, don’t go here. I’m even thinking about transferring to aveda or something. Have a nice day y’all :)

I have been here twice, going for a third time this week. Morghan has been my stylist and she is FANTASTIC! I used to hate having my hair done, now I schedule an appointment every 4 weeks. I have recommended Morghan to friends and family and now they are going as well. Love, love, love this place!

Great service and super cheap. No risk really because they will fix your hair if it gets messed up. Ive been a few times for cuts and coloring and on the most recent trip had a not so great experience. However, they set me up for another cut, for free, and Ariel made it look great. Shes super friendly and skilled and students like her are why I continue to rely on this location for my haircuts. Overall a great option for styling your hair or getting professional makeup done.

OMG! Literally my first time here and it went so great! I was able to get my hair colored by Sara who is a co worker of my moms at Klip Company up the road a bit and i was able to get my dream color of caramel or carmel in my hair! Would recommend this place to anyone and would give Sara my new friend and this place 10 stars instead of 5 if there was a 10 star option!

I just had my haircut at Paul Mitchell. My hairstylist was Debbie Pierson. It was my first experience and i can surely say it was amazing. The staff was very welcoming and i must say Debbie is an awesome hairstylist. Didn’t even felt while she was doing my haircut and wash, it was so gentle. I am 100% convinced with my hairstyle I received. I highly recommend this place.

This review is for Jasmine Blake. She is an exceptional student with experience doing Black/natural hair. She can do amazing blowouts and iron work. I would recommend her to anyone, regardless of hair type. Unfortunately, she is one of only a few students at this school that have experience with Black/Natural hair. So, when you call to make an appointment, make sure you ask for her specifically. She is great when it comes to customer service as well!

Why are people surprised that a STUDENT has messed up? You are going KNOWING that these are students.

This may go without saying since its primarily for hair, but do not go for a manicure! Haircuts may be fine, but not a manicure. 2 Stars are only because the students were not rude about the situation. My daughter and I scheduled manicures for 9:30am. They had us scheduled for haircuts. We werent called back until 9:50. Then they had to sort out the haircut/manicure issue. This was the first manicure for both students. Both had to look at a list of steps the whole time. Mine told me she didnt really know how to file nails because she doesnt even do her own. Two hours later I opted for no color so we could just leave. Both my daughter and I had to remove everything when we got home and redo it all ourselves. Lesson learned!

VERY great haircut! Stylist was Stephanie D. and wow was she great. Not only does my head look awesome, but the whole experience was so relaxing. My dream haircut scenario finally actually happened!

My first time I went to change my hair color, it took 6 hours and they were going to send me out in the cold with wet hair. I had to wash the dye out of my hair the student was scared to touch my hair. I went back to let them try and get my color right, they turned my hair maroon and black. I stayed there from 9:30 until 4:40. then I was told I would get a discount pay the $8.00 per bowl with out the base price. I had to cancel my appointment for one week. and the reneged on the discount price. I have wasted much time and money trying to get my color the way I wanted it. The first charge was 80.00 second charge was 60.00 then 3rd time I paid 40.00. And these are students I can go to a licensed salon for these prices. I will never go back.

That saying you get what you pay for was made for this place. After 3 1/2 hours I walked away with the bottom of my ombre the color orange ( was told it would be blonde) and a wet head because they were closing, all this on New years Eve. Not a great way to start 2020. I will go to a real salon next time because I am worth it!

I have been going to Paul Mitchell for about 5 years,,,,,, I love it, every student I have ever had done a very good job with my hair. It is such a up beat atmosphere especially on Saturday. LOVE IT THERE>...

DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE BY A PHASE 1 STUDENT! I had my hair colored and they completely mixed up the bowls. They put the dark color on my entire hair and the light color on my roots. I wasn’t even wanting two colors. Once they rinsed out the color and realized what they had done, they had to put the dark color all over my hair. I was looking for a soft rose color and my hair is very very purple. I hate it and when I said something to them, they just said oh we’re sorry LOL. They then proceeded to charge me $50 for the color they messed up and said there was nothing they could do when I asked for a refund. My hair is very streaky and still has brown streaks in it. The students were very unprofessional and my entire forehead was purple by the time it was over. Seven hours later, I had to go home looking like a damn rodeo clown. Seven hours. I looked this up, I could drive from Cincinnati to Alabama in that time. Wtf. Will not be back and don’t even trust them to fix my hair.

Ive been to Paul Mitchell School every 2-3 months since 2008. Ive only left once or twice not feeling totally amazed with my hair. Otherwise they do a fantastic job and I leave feeling like I have supermodel hair. Ive recommended this place to most people I know. Its affordable for coloring if you have long or a lot of hair. If youre coloring a lot of hair it may take 4 or more hours so a Saturday would be a good day to go in for most of the day. But when you just get roots done you can go in from 6-9pm for roots and a hair cut on an evening. Try them out! Theyre great!

Sarah did a great job on my cut and color... She took the time and patients to listen to find the color I wanted.. She had to mix two colors. Together to get my color... She wasnt embarrassed or scared to ask the instructor her opinion and have her check to make sure everything was done correctly after each step was done... Thanks sarah I love the color!!!

Beware: this is an excruciatingly detailed recount of my time at Paul Mitchell. If you want the short version, I sat in a chair for four hours to get the wrong color dye slopped in my hair, on my skin, and on my clothes; my hair looked like a child cut it; and the employees didnt know how to do anything.Absolutely atrocious, the Paul Mitchell school provided the worst customer service experience of my life. I had read all of the negative reviews for this place, but I decided to go ahead and get my hair done because I thought it would be pretty hard to mess up dyeing my light brown hair a couple shades darker, and I wanted my same-length hair trimmed by an inch or two. I was wrong.I went in with a Groupon for a $16 dollar basic color and was assigned to Kim. I have thick hair that was about chest length when we started, so I expected to pay more for for dye. The stylist and her lead came over to discuss what color I wanted my hair. They both emphasized the violet color they would be adding to the dye, even though I picked a reddish brown sample swatch, showed a picture, and discussed it with them. After spending half an hour trying to figure out how to get my hair to the desired color. I was informed that my total cost would be $47 AFTER my Groupon. I should have left then, but I decided not to since I rarely spend money on my hair.After consulting a learning leader and mixing the dye she began to apply it to my hair. It started off as a very slow process, and I started to get nervous as the dye on one side of my head had been sitting for quite a while before she started on the other side. Early on, she asked for someone to help apply the dye to my hair so it wouldnt take so long, which was thoughtful of her. I became less comfortable while she and the woman assisting her began complaining about their instructor, and made comments about how they would have chosen a different color for me WHILE THEY ARE DYEING IT. They did engage me some, and they were pleasant enough to talk to, but many of the things they said were wildly unprofessional. I noticed some dye on my arm as well at this point.Overall, the left side of my hair ended up covered in dye for over half an hour longer than the right side - the dye was supposed to only be in my hair 35 minutes total. The entire process of applying dye to my hair took well over two hours between the two students. She had me walk over to the sinks, where I had to wait in line because they were all in use. I ended up with dye and water splashed on me, and she was unable to put a towel on my hair to keep it from dripping. She ended up setting it on top of my head and telling me to just hold it there.Next came the haircut. By now, I have been in a chair for over three hours, and I was anxious to go as I had plans in another hour. Twenty minutes into the haircut, I asked her how much longer I would be there. Keep in mind my hair was already one length, and I asked her to cut it about two inches and keep it all one length. I was told an ADDITIONAL 40 minutes would be necessary. I was clearly unhappy at this point, and I asked her to forgo blow drying and straightening my hair so I could leave sooner. She began to work a little faster at this point, and when she was nearing completion, she called over her learning leader to sign off on everything she had done. The leader then cut a little more of my hair to even it out. My mistake was, instead of looking at it then, I threw my hair into a bun and bolted to the front desk so I could pay and leave. I later found out it was so choppy and uneven, I couldve had a child do it.NEVER coming back

I had Amanda S. as my stylist. She and her instructor were amazing and gave me exactly the cut I wanted. I have been to several salons in Cincinnati and have never been treated so well. I scheduled my next appointment with Amanda. I wouldnt go anywhere else after the experience I had today!

To begin I do believe that they have skilled future professionals here. But I would not recommend ANYONE( esp AA) coming here. On my initial appointment I came in with an idea of what I wanted as well as a couple pictures. My hair current hair color was golden blonde but I had new growth of dark roots that I was trying to get touched up with brown. Instead of going with the brown color of my choice they gave me a dark black shadow root which I really wasn’t interested in but had somewhere to be so I decided to come back to get it fixed the next day. Upon returning I showed the pictures again and they didn’t do as I wished yet again but it “looked” better. With them being future professionals, and not actually professionals nobody’s really gonna tell you the integrity of your hair and what limits that it can and cannot reach after their work because they’re overly eager to process and play in peoples hair. I discussed my problems and just the fact that I was natural and I feel like that was ignored throughout my processing because I felt like the bleach stayed on longer than it should have especially considering the fact that this was a redo of their first mistake him and I blame myself for part of that just because I should’ve trusted them in the first place. I wasn’t expecting going from blonde to brown route was going to be emotionally taxing on my hair and me but I honestly wish I’d never booked the appointment because I’ve completely lost my curl pattern. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!

Went for the first time for a partial highlight, my request was a bit tricky, but my stylist Bridget did a fantastic job!!! I couldnt be happier with how it turned out, plus the salon is very nice as well! Definitely will be back!!

Should teach better customer service to students. Its a huge part of becoming successful. Alot of them seem to be careless and not great with people.

My mom, my sister and I went to their hair salon and only one of us came out with a hair cut that they liked. I asked for a cascade hair cut and it turned out uneven and not at all what I wanted. My mom asked for a hair cut where it was shorter in the back and longer in the front but there were hairs that were longer than all the others and just looked overall bad. My sister was the only one who liked her hair cut and that is because a professional there had to fix the cut. So if you are thinking about going here, you may want to think again.

I went in with some major damage due to a trendy shampoo ruining my hair. Brittany Clark went above and beyond to help me. These girls are awesome.

Great deal on Groupon for manicure. The nail technician was pleasant and kind, sloppy nail paint job, low quality nail polish, technician did not clip cuticles. Paul Mitchell School needs to invest more quality products and space to the nail tech program.

So I got my hair done there and when i left i went to kroger. i got so many compliments on my new hair that i had to leave. people were coming at me with cameras i felt like a movie star. immediately when i left i was attacked someone jumped on my car and started screaming they wanted to shave my head so they could have it. i drove away but as i was driving people had to stop their cars to see my doo. which caused many wrecks i got home and realized about 5 people followed me and i had to run into my neighbors apartment so that they wouldn’t know where i lived but when my neighbor saw me they jumped on my head and tried to rip my hair out because i looked so good. i had an awful experience after i got my hair done but the actual process of getting my hair done was absolutely outstanding. she did a fabulous job.

Went in for a black balayage with hints of blue, ended up having almost my whole head black with green and patches of yellow blonde everywhere. Will never recommend this place! The teacher even participated in my hair and ended up having to spend $300 to fix their mess. Never again!

Bought a groupon and was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I had to pay an additional 24$(on top of the groupon) for extra BOWLS OF COLOR. This also took over 4 hours. I realize that this is a school but 4 hours AND additional charges (equal to the cost of the Groupon itself) seem unsavory at the very least. Paul Mitchell should at least stipulate that due to certain circumstances there may be additional charges.

Horrible experience, i went in today and wasted about 2 hours and also came out with wet hair. Girls over there dont respect the hair you have. there girl doing my hair didnt even shampoo properly and then started conditioning. when i told her that you didnt shampoo any of my hair in the back she is like - OH i didnt knew if u would like that - REALLY? She poured some shampoo on top of conditioner (what a mess) She didnt do it right at all. When we came back to the seat - she started drying the hair without putting any products or heat protectant. I called the supervisor and expressed my concern stating that i am not comfortable with my stylish doing my hair without any care. She was kind enough to change the styler but again the girl started ripping my hair with brush. I was so concerned that i didnt even bother to do my hair there.dont go there. Its a horrible place. you take appointment and they still make you wait for 15-20 mins. Plus students are horrible. They do what they feel like.Nor going back again

This place is god awful. The teachers or instructors are extremely rude, there was one with the blonde hair, I think her name is Hillary, she has a nasty attitude. And another one is Kaitlin. I only know her name because of the student doing my hair. Kaitlin was eyeing me and giving me dirty looks. And the way I witnessed her treating the other students was unbelievable. I’ve been here plentiful of times and just seen this place getting worse and worse. The students are wonderful! It’s just the instructors or learning leaders, whatever they’re called, are horrible. The front desk is super rude as well. There’s been times were I’ve called the school to book an apointment and had this young lady named Sarah, hang up on me a couple times due to them being “very busy.” Super rude. I only come back for the students. Also, how can people not tip these amazing guys and gals?? They deserve it. It’s rude to not tip, especially when you’re paying low prices as it is already.

They are not just beauticians they are doctors...so supportive...polite,patient, treat customers as family members though they are professionals....also they arent money minded...They resolve ur issues at cost of nothing...They just charged me 15 $ for detangling huge knot at backside of my hair even after 4 of them worked for 3 hours...hats off to them...all of u shud visit only this salon if possible.

I went in for a highlight and strawberry blonde they did a really good job on the blond but my strawberry blonde tones washed out after the first shampoo. Went back to have it fixed. I showed them a picture of the color that I wanted which was platinum blonde with strawberry blonde tones however they took the platinum blond away and went to dark with no strawberry blonde tones and made my hair dark lowlights instead. Upon telling them that was not the right color she said it looks very good and the colors go well together. That was $150 down the drain literally

Jacqueline (I probably have the spelling wrong) or everyone called her Jaq, helped bring my balayage higher up since my hair has grown longer. This was her first time attempting this and she did a great job! Shonda (spelling is probably wrong again) then helped at a rose gold toner over the blonde. My hair looks so great and I love the work they did ❤️

Didnt get even close to what I asked for. Now I have to another 100$ or more to fix it. Also if you dont have 4-5 hours to sit in the chair dont go here.
