I use to work at the Michaels on Georgia Ave. I never heard of this store till I worked there. I learned alot & got into crafts. I also would host Birthday parties and took 1 class of cake decorating. I loved it. I remember baking my 1st cake from scratch & decorating it. Its so peaceful there. Im waiting to go into this Michaels till I got some money to blow.

My wife loves the massive stockpile of yarn and crochet accessories. Its a bit overwhelming for me but anyone thats into crafts would be in heaven!

I always feel the need to shoutout those that provide exceptional customer service as there are not many places that in the DMV that display it…but Fever(sorry if I heard that wrong) was AMAZING! I was getting some items for a friend for an important project with very little detail and had NO idea on what I was supposed to get. She was patient and provided me with professional feedback and the results turned out better than my friend expected. She was truly amazing and made me feel like she cared. I will be recommending this location to everyone!

Aiden is my favorite cashier, they are so helpful, and that goes for all the employees I have ever interacted with at this location. The only problem... I always get a couple extra items, but it is a great problem to have.

This is maybe the second most reliable, and most convenient Michaels in my area. Its a short, uphill walk from the Silver Spring Metro and is usually well stocked on the crochet materials I need. The prices are the usual Michaels prices, but with the coupons offered in their emails, you can usually find a good deal. This store is also surrounded by a mix of fast food and casual eats. Its good to have food options after and evening of craft shopping.

An arts and crafts lovers dream. This place is great for buying supplies to create different pretty things.

Good placeNice selection of products.BEWARE!!Some cashiers will not apply the discounted prices as advertised and with the correct discounted price.They would charge you the wrong price.You have to be very careful and correct them if necessary!That happened to me.I had to correct them and discuss it until they corrected the price because one cashier was entering the wrong price and charging me the not discounted price.Now just pay attention.

They had just what I needed. Im teach Paint and Sips, so canvases are always on my shopping list. I even decided to buy a few of the larger canvases. They saved me a trip to Laurel or Bowie so I have no complaints. Great staff.

This location handled my customer service issue PERFECTLY! I ordered a frame online for 50%. It was packaged poorly and arrived with the glass shattered. I brought it in and they immediately refunded the cost I paid for the frame. I then asked if I could be refunded the cost of shipping as well, and although that would normally be something handled through their corporate office, they offered to take that amount off the new frame that I was purchasing in the store. I’m very grateful to the manager and cashier who were very patient and accommodating. I will definitely be a returning customer!!

Its Michaels dont forget your coupon or its way overpriced. Half the color pencils I need are always missing, apparently if pp take them without paying the system dosent reorder them, bad system at best. Put it behind the checkout.But I still love the place, you can go to the art store and pay more in a pinch

It was hard to find a parking space, the first time I drove around, but I found a parking garage, that lets you park for free on the weekends. The Michaels is on the bottom floor and I suggest taking the stars or elevator ( if you walk with a cane like me). When I got in there, finally, it was full of items(cluttered) and it was hard to tell where everything was. So if you are new to this store, just ask someone to show you where what youre looking for is located, or if you have time to browse then, your good. I came for holiday cookie cutters and the first person sent me to wong area, and the second person took of like a shot and left me behind while showing me where they were. I only gave it 1 star because its Michaels. Everything about the experience was off putting. I would find another Michaels.

They have a pretty good selection of stuff here. So if you a crafty person this is your place.

I did not know you can enter this location from the street. Know I know. I was in & out ... and happy as could be. Loved the staff ... but they were out of some items. Must be a popular store!!! We visit more often. Just live that street entry!!!

Theyre good for art supplies if you buy online and use their sales. However, here, the local artists art supplies is better priced and 150% better professional quality for their custom frames. The frames themselves are ok at Michaels, but the backs are not professionally Done properly. NO wiring, JUST CHEAP HANGERS, like you get in a Walmart frame. Masking tape on the outside of the backing paper. Not gallery quality. Poorly put together. Will NEVER use then for framing EVER again! Should have known better, lesson learned. STICK with your LOCAL ART FRAME SHOP.

The store was clean with a great selection and a lot of variety.

Good variety of art and craft material, great collection of artificial plants and also has great ideas for baking needs. Overall its amazing, however its small and relatively congested during rush hours.

Always find what I need for a project here. From feathers for a hat to kids toys and crafts to home decor. Often on Clearance! Plenty of parking nearby. Usually neat, clean and organized. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about where to find things.

Love the prices and I love how the associate I needed help from pulled out his tablet and told if they had what I was looking for in stock! He was even able to tell me what aisle and escorted me to the section! One previous visit they were able to do a price match for an item that was on sale at another location. I can always find what I need and I like the classes.

Ive been an artist for 20 years now and can honestly say that this location is one of the larger art supplies stores Ive been to. Great locationnin the middle of downtown silver spring. You can swing over while waiting for a movie to start. Great selection of frames, artificial flowers, paint and more.

Amazing for any craft and creative needs. I think you could find anything here if you tried to find it hard enough. Stay away if you are prone to impulse buying, for obvious reasons. They have an amazing collection of home and festival decor as well.

I simply love this place for anything from arts and crafts, to picture frames. Love love love their discounted coupons! You can get one item for 50% off as well as 30% etc! Where else can you get bargains such as this? Nowhere! Staff is friendly, the store itself is clean and roomy! Can say enough about this store!

They always have a nice selection and a sale is always going on. The store seems to be remodeling for the winter season so it was kind of a maze to get around. The workers were very patient in trying to find a product that was a little out there and they said they did not have.

Loved it. Found my card stock I needed. Holographic planners unicorn pins and squishys oh my. Best selection of stickers. Neat and clean. Male cashier was super nice and efficient.

I went here for yarn and their selection was a bit lacking. Not a lot of selection outside of 100% acrylic yarns and a pretty limited selection of hooks and needles.

So once I went in and played dumb, and asked for help with something completely ridiculous and to my surprise, that particular staff member on that random day spent about 16 minutes with me determined to help get my project off the ground.Bravo Zulu, Michaels Silver Spring!

I love Michaels and Im so happy to live so close to one. This Michaels is great. It almost always has what Im looking for and the employees are really friendly. The 4 stars (instead of 5) is only because they dont seem to keep track of which yarns they have in stock. Ive asked numerous employees if they knew if a certain yarn was in stock and they honestly didnt know and just pointed me to the yarn aisle. I dont think thats a specific problem to this Michaels but it is something that could be better. Overall, I love Michaels and I visit this one extremely often.

Pretty large store. Note: they do not have fabric on the bolt. Also, wait until they have a sale on frames, frequently they do 50% off. A much better value that way.

Does anyone ever buy anything for full price at Michaels? If you can wait until the last minute, or after the holiday, you can get anything at 75 percent off. Thats when this place is the bestest deal ever!

Their website said they had the item I needed, in stock at this specific location. The rack was empty. It took several minutes to locate a store employee. He told me the website is not always accurate.He checked an inventory scanner, which said the item was in stock. He looked in vain for it. He asked another employee to help look for it, who also couldnt find it. I was then told the item was not in stock. He apologized, but this really is inexcusable.Your inventory control system is faulty, Michaels. Its not good business to waste your customers time. I will not be returning to this store.

As craft stores go, it was neat and orderly with a wide assortment of crafts.The stores of today try to cover so much that there isnt that much covered in any one craft. Wasnt approached by any of the sales staff. Its not so much the store, but the fact that I, as well as other shoppers, look for specialty shops that seem to become more scarce as time goes on.

I LOVE Michaels. They have almost everything I need for crafting, party decor, projects and more.

Michaels is a pretty typical large crafts store, and this one is no different. It goes back quite a ways, and has an extensive selection of materials for an in-mall location.

Customer service is phenomenal. Staff helped me fund what I needed, and when there was a pricing discrepancy they were very helpful and worked with me to get the best price. Ill definitely be back.

Tried returning items I bought online and was told I can’t return them at the store. Called customer service later and was told differently. They said they should have called customer service to clarify. Went today and had issues with the egift card. The staff and manager were so clueless. They could have easily picked up the phone to call customer service for assistance. After leaving the store I called customer service and was assisted immediately. I won’t be shopping at this specific location anymore. Rather drive the extra 15 mins to Aspen Hill or Columbia.

If you have a craft idea Michaels has the answer. It is easy to spend hours in this store. The only disappointment is the frequency at which inventory is moved around. But this gives you time to get some more ideas.

I go in here and walk around. Their big scented candles are usually 3 for $10. Their line backs up randomly so if you see a short line head for it or you may be delayed.
