The service department is amazing! Michael Goodman goes above and beyond to help me out. Whether its giving sound advice in regards to vehicle repairs/maintenance to ensuring my car (with kiddos car seats inside) has all the work done in a timely manner so I dont have to rearrange transportation the following day. Truly amazing! This is the reason we return.

I come here for service. All of the employees are amazing. They go above and beyond. At my most recent visit they gave me a better deal than the coupon I brought in. If I was only rating the employees and service theyd easily get 5 stars. However, as a wheelchair user I have to take accessibility into account, so I gave them 4 stars. The only ramp is by the front of the building (the service area is at the rear of the building). There is no safe way to the ramp from the service area. You have to go through the parking lot. The employees truly do their best to accommodate me, but they cant remove architectural barriers to accessibility, thats on management.

Herb Gordon Subaru went above and beyond today. Living in DC has provided me with several opportunities to get my left side mirror replaced. :/Herb Gordon Subaru saved me a trip by ensuring the parts were available before I drove out there to get the mirror fixed. They did it quickly and were very pleasant throughout the whole process. Customer service isn’t quite dead in the DC area yet. Definitely will be going to this dealership for all my Subaru service needs from now on.

This is my favorite car dealer ship and they never let me down with regard to service. Today I went in for an oil change and the 30,000 mile service. It turned out I needed some additional things, to make sure my car is ready for a long trip. Michael, the service manager has gone out of his way on multiple occasions to ensure my satisfaction. Today he went above and beyond as my service had me stay there pretty much the whole day. On another occasion, I called because another dealership told me I needed some things that were urgent that this dealership had not mentioned on a prior service. They brought my car in, reinspected it and said they would stand by what they said I needed and did not need. The other dealership did not do that and rescinded the “urgent’ service recommendations they initially made. That is why I continue to go to this location to have my car serviced, even though it is 45 minutes from my house, and there is another Subaru dealer five minutes from where I work. As one intimately familiar with marketing and customer service, hi have no doubt rating this place highly. I would give this dealership, and Michael as my service coordinator, 10 stars if I could!

I’ve always had a good experience at Herb Gordon Subaru. We’ve purchased multiple vehicles there, and also make sure to use them for service and repairs. In the service department Rodney normally handles all of our work ups, but he was out this week. Instead, I had the pleasure of working with Michael, who was just as knowledgeable as he was kind and attentive.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a Subaru or in need of its service department.

First let me say I have on my car now for six years and I’ve only gone to Herb Gordon dealership to have it serviced. I did not buy my car from them but you would not know that based on the way I’ve been treated by Mr. Rodney Rogers my service advisor. He has been with me since I’ve had my car and has made it a point to not only treat me well but to go well above above and beyond. As a woman when I go into dealerships I’m a little bit tight because I know that I’m treated differently because I’m not a man but Mr. Rogers never did that with me. He always showed me the upmost respect he always made sure I understood everything that was going on with my car and he made it a point to make sure that my car was OK when I left. I just wanna take a moment to say thank you to him publicly and let him know that his professionalism and kindness towards me is not gone unnoticed. You definitely have a superstar in him at your organization.

One of the best Subaru dealerships around! My husband is in the military so we move often, and I’ve had my fair share of Subaru dealerships. Herb Gordon goes above and beyond. I believe Ken helped me today- I’m forgetting his name-but he was so kind. I originally wanted a loaner but they said they could have me in and out in less than an hour for an oil change. He also gave me a $10 discount! Woooo! Additionally, a few months back I had ordered touch up paint and there was a bit of confusion with delivery. It was supposed to be shipped to me but instead it was at the dealership. I called to check and they hand delivered it to my house within a few hours of my phone call (I live 30 min away). Truly, this is a place that cares!

This was my first car buying experience at this particular Subaru dealership, and overall I am deeply satisfied with how Herb Gordon provided and presented their sales and services.My sales consultant, Angel, was there with me from the very beginning of my journey and answered any and all questions I had about the car I was purchasing as well as the car purchasing process. Angel was flexible with communicating via e-mail whenever I needed information also.One of the other managers, Jason, was very helpful in answering my questions about a Subaru Ambassador Coupon I was gifted from a friend. I am really impressed with the overall Herb Gordon team that recently sold me a Forester but I particularly want to commend the sales representative, Debbie. I was initially considering either the Forester or the Outback and Debbie suggested that we start with a Forester after discussing my current vehicle and interests. She promptly found a vehicle for me to test drive, showed me the key features, and recommended a good route. Upon returning from the drive, I requested the price information and the out the door estimate was an outstanding price for the vehicle. I returned a few days later to complete the purchase.I never felt pressured to buy a vehicle throughout the process and I am impressed with their efficiency after I decided to proceed with the purchase. Following the sale, Debbie demonstrated a few additional features before wishing me well and has also followed up to ensure that I am enjoying the vehicle.Herb Gordon definitely exceeded my expectations and earned a customer for any of my future purchases and the vehicles maintenance.

Exceptional service! I have been with Herb Gordon Subaru for 4 years and they are always great! I delayed to bring my car to take care of AC recall till my AC stopped working at 95 degree weather. I also messed up my appointment date and brought my car to the service at wrong day. Despite being fully booked, Michael Goodman and mechanics team went above and beyond to take care of my car the same day I brought it in. I also got a loaner for full day with no charge, car wash and car check-up.

Long story short, I referred my son-in-law here for repairs to his vehicle. Almost $5000.00 later the car still wasnt fixed and I was not at all pleased with the final outcome. They only agreed to give back what was paid for repairs in exchange for keeping the vehicle. So it seems that my son-in-law walked away with no car and they ended up with a car that would bring in money either by auction, salvage or resale. Like I said, not at all pleased with the outcome. There a plenty more details as to why I wont recommend them again but it will take too long to go into detail.

My first Subaru - brought it to Herb Gordon for a recall repair…..see Michael Goodman in the Service Center! Only see him! Made my first visit/experience one I will remember! He was super nice, excellent customer service, explained everything to me in a way I would understand, patient, informative, I could go all day! As someone who doesn’t know much about cars & who would normally send my husband, he definitely made me feel comfortable and at ease and helped me understand what is being done to my car, what those car parts are and what it does, etc. After today’s visit, I do feel more comfortable coming by myself, I’ll spare my husband the task now :) . I plan to come back for all and any future issues that may come up (but hopefully not that many) & learn a whole lot more as we go! Thank you, Miiiikeee!!!One other note, this place is really clean and customer driven! Their waiting lounge isn’t bad and the upstairs lounge was super convenient as I had some work to do while I waited for my car to be finished! Was able to plug in my laptop, do some work and hop on a call without feeling like I’m being disruptive to others. I’ll have to come back Bec I seemed to have missed the “instore shopping” that’s indicated. Really pleased with my visit! Thank you!!

I purchased a car from Herb Gordon Subaru last weekend and had a great experience until the deal was done. A few heads up / words to the wise if you are considering coming here:If youre coming to this dealership in a rental (like I was after a car accident), be sure you have a plan for dealing with your rental as they will not help you figure it out. I had to force my salesperson to offer any help, and even then they did the absolute bare minimum. This is totally unlike my prior experience at other dealerships, ESPECIALLY after the sale of an expensive car.As part of my purchase, we agreed to include all all-weather mats in the car, and the sales team made a huge deal out of not getting that down in writing ~*because the manager would be upset*~. Sure. I see now why they actually didnt get anything in writing: they have backtracked and only gave me some of the mats in our deal, refusing to provide others and saying it was never part of the agreement. Lies. They are sneaky so be sure anything you negotiate is ON PAPER and check the car more carefully than I did before you leave the lot.I worked with multiple managers to resolve this issue, and they all had the same line. In his last email to me, the general manager did not even apologize to me for all of this trouble - Im talking multiple hours on the phone and writing emails, etc., and they still backed out of providing the $100 mat they agreed to. Unbelievable.With this review and a call to Subaru customer service I am now done wasting my time here, and I will certainly never waste another penny at this dealership. I encourage you to think very carefully before you give them your business.

Dont get the extended warranty at Johnson Subaru because they will not honor the contract! I recently traded in my Forester that I bought at Johnson Subaru for an Ascent at another dealership. The new dealer told me that because I still had life left on the Forester warranty, Johnson owed me $964. They also gave me a printout confirming it. I sent multiple emails to Johnson Subaru and called twice to try to get the refund. The last time I called I finely spoke with a less-than-enthusiastic finance person, J. Walker (didnt catch his first name). I sent him all of the paperwork that he requested along with an email asking him to confirm receipt. No response. I have tried following up 3 times since then. Still no response.Update: Finally received my refund, more than two months after I first reached out to the dealership. During that time I never received any responses to my inquiries, just a slew of sales emails.

This was my first experience with Herb Gordons service center. I have been continuously thrilled with my choice to not only purchase a Subaru, but to purchase one at this particular location. Its nice knowing the fantastic quality of service I received on the sales side carries over on their service side. They were prompt, informative, extremely helpful, and most importantly they were super warm, ya know? They made me feel like family and someone they were happy to serve. I believe his name was Rodney, but he was absolutely amazing! He helped me navigate a potential recall for me and the entire experience was smooth, helpful, and enjoyable. ===UPDATED JAN 25===Greg and his team reached out the following business day, apologized for the mistake. He drove to my place a nice loaner 2020 Outback and took my car for body shop at the dealership. Once done, he drove the car back to my place. I cannot see any of those marks that I initially posted and the car once again looks like new. Although I would rather this whole thing didn’t happen and the services went well, I am impressed by how Greg and his team handled the consequences and did a nice job fixing the problem, including picking up my car and returning it to my place; it was very a smooth transaction. 5 stars for the fix.===ORIGINAL===Came here for a service; ended up having the service staff damaging my new 2019 outback (w/ 2000 miles only) at at least three spots. Even when Harry (rarely) delivers unwelcome news about a required repair, I trust that the recommendation is based on a genuine concern for both my vehicle and personal safety. Amazing service & great support, they were able to perform the 120,000 mile service at a fraction of the cost compared to the dealership I was using down in Newport News, VA. They even notified me of a couple of issues they noticed which aligned with observations I had noticed but didnt mention. I opted to have them perform the work as well during the 120,000 mile service and they were able to knock the price down even more than the traditional work because I was combining it all at the same time. Collectively I was able to save 500 dollars on the work and that didnt even include the saves of the 120,000 mile service compared to what the dealership in Newport News quoted me.

Harry Price is my rep. He is always courteous and helpful. I brought in my Forester for routine oil change and he noticed that a minor recall was pending on the vehicle and he got that taken care of. Herb Gordon Subaru is a great place to take your vehicle for service. They often do several complimentary inspections, an external car wash and a loaner car which made it easy for me to run my errands when my vehicle was being serviced. Very bad customer service. I was really interested in couple of cars, both of them were unavailable when I visited the store. I was told someone will contact me when car is back or clears inspection. Here I was, seriously waiting for someone to get In touch so that I can go try out the cars. Week, two weeks went by, nobody called me or emailed me back. I then called them to inquire what was happened and was given some explanation and that someone will contact me soon. Still again weeks went by and no one contacted me. I know how hard it is for good preowned Subaru to available. Here I was genuinely interested in buying a vehicle and seriously waiting for someone to call me and completely drop the ball. Not once, but twice. I am very disappointed that didn’t follow through as promised and I missed an opportunity to buy a vehicle I like. Highly disappointed and will not be going here again.

We came to Herb Gordon for an oil change and a state inspection and got so much more! Our representative was Michael Goodman and from the minute we were greeted we were treated like old friends. The whole staff at Herb Gordon Subaru made us feel welcome and you can tell they have a fun time working!When we mentioned to Michael we were going to take a Lyft home, he said ‘don’t worry about it’ and we got us a free loaner car. He was super personable and I am so glad that we met him! Great service. I’ve been going here for years. They take much better care of my car than the smallish general mechanic I used to use and they’re around the same price. They never try and up sell me anything, in fact they go out of their way to do things as efficiently as possible and have talked me out of more expensive things I assumed needed done. They often find things I know are wrong but didn’t tell them about and they fix them without mentioning it if they are small things. They know these cars really well and are fast with their service. If it’s going to be more than a couple hours they’ve given me a loaner each time which is a great way to test drive some newer models and see if your missing anything. I purchased my car from this dealership on June 10, 2021, on July 14th I reached out to my car salesman Al Goldberg to get information about our title/the process of getting the car registered since they by law must submit the application paperwork within 30 days of purchase. To which he rudely referred me to his managers, Marc Dorfman and Jim Walker. After contacting Marc Dorfman I was informed that they neglected to obtain the information needed in order to process the registration on the day of purchase. The information was sent to them and they mailed it two days later. Marc was helpful and kind during this encounter.I have been following up with them throughout this process and have been met with unanswered phone calls from both the sales team and titling department. Now, it is August 2 and my temporary tags will expire in 7 days. I contacted the DMV here in Florida where they are to register my car and they have no record of any communication from the dealership nor does the lien holder have the title from them. After contacting the dealership with this information I was met with hostility and told Maryland is not giving tickets for expired tags or pulling people over and they sent the information on July 16 after telling him we are in Florida (a known fact), the DMV here has no record of any documents being sent, and that is not the policy here I was told Well they should be understanding that the titling process is backed up and we will reach out to our titling department to see if we can extend your tags.After being fed up with their lack of information and being rudely written off I contacted the lien holder who was also shocked that they waited over a month to send my information. Additionally, I was told that there is less than a 30 day back up in Florida and had they sent the paperwork in the time legally required this would not be an issue and they provided us with the information needed to potentially get an extension to our tags.The lack of customer service after you purchase your car is astonishing. They have known since the start of COVID that the titling process is taking longer and should have been proactive about sending off documents before the required 30 days after our purchase. My experience with this dealership has been a headache and a half since leaving the dealership and now Im being met with constant hostility as I try to figure out where the paperwork was sent.

Take note, competitors, visit, if you want to get a master class in what customer service looks like. Most people dont relish the idea of taking their car for service. Like me, they may be missing work, taking a long trip, etc. to deal with what seems like an unpleasant chore. Herb Gordon Subaru has noticed every part of the customer experience. Vitaliy Khlebnikov, briskly walked over to me as soon as I pulled into the service station. He couldnt find my appointment, which I thought would lead to delay and frustration. Nope, he said not to worry, they would take care of me. I was fearful that my request for a loaner car wouldnt be honored. No, he ran over to secure my car. By the time I had the paperwork signed (again, thanks Mauza, that was speedy), he was back to tell me I was all set. Perfect experience, and I get grumpy fast. Thanks Herb Gordon Subaru - you guys are awesome!

I was able to quickly get a loaner vehicle. I was called to inform me when it was ready with all concerns addressed.

I always get such great service at Herb Gordon Subaru. Their appointments are on time, they’re always really helpful with loaners, and fantastic at calling and giving me updates on my car. It’s the easiest process. Honestly... taking your car in for service is usually a pain, but it’s not even a wrinkle in my day. I’m in and out so fast.

I had a really good experience AT Herb Gordon Subaru. They took really good care of my Forester. HOWEVER, In the 8 months afterwards I have received a never ending barrage of spammy phone calls, letters and emails wanting me to sign up for extended warranties, FROM HERB GORDON! Ive unsubscribed from the emails multiple times over the last several months but the phone calls, emails and snail mails continue. FML. Never go here.

Ask for Claudia in the service department! Claudia is an excellent service advisor at Herb Gordon and I highly recommend her. In all my experiences of getting service with Claudia, she has always been informative, kind, and reliable. She has been especially accessible and easy to reach for all my car needs. She also always relayed the information to me in a professional manner. I brought my car in and I was greeted by friendly faces. I was asked for why I brought my car in and I was given a loaner to make it to work on time. I was impressed on the professionalism that early in the morning. When I picked up my car, I received the same friendly greeting and even with it being the end of the day, everyone was nice and professional. Michael made sure I received my car and was informed of what needs to get taken care of in the future. Michael has always been honest, kind and professional with me.
