I sold my car to Koons in Silver Spring on September 21, 2021. I originally spoke with Anthony who agreed to buy my car for a specific price. I had multiple dealerships interested in the vehicle but agreed to meet with Koons because they were going to beat the other offers. When I went to the dealership, the manager said they would not pay the agreed upon price and offered me $450 less. I was already pretty frustrated at this point but I agreed to the new price.Koons agreed to pay off the remaining balance of my loan and write me check for the positive equity in the vehicle. I have followed up with Koons several times now and they still have not paid me, it’s been over a month! I followed the vehicle on their website as it was listed for sale. It sold within a couple days. Be careful doing business with this dealership.
Steve Hipps was tremendous. With inventory at an all time low he contacted me and stressed the F150 Lariat I had been looking for would be gone within 24 hours. He wasnt kidding… I beat 3 other people to the finish line. Great truck but it runs a distant second to the treatment Steve and Mike Mabry gave me. Do not ever make a move on a new car without calling Steve at Koons of Silver Spring.
I bought a F650 from this dealership back in March 2020. It was suppose to be a “brand new truck”, and the first day I started the truck, it already had a broken tube from the dumper. Kyle A Robson, Master Certified Commercial, Truck Sales Manager, he was so quick so sell me the truck, and it was even quicker to disappear and clean his hand when I asked for help. Until this day, August 20, 2021, I haven’t received my plate and registration. SIX months, people!!!! All they do is giving me excuses after excuses and tossing my around like a ball. Angie Weeks,Title Clerk Specialist, she is even worst, she doesn’t know how the registration process works. I already have a ticket from the DOT because this dealership incompetency and lack of professionalism. I’m advising you, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!! You are wasting time, money, energy. I have been buying trucks, cars, etc. for more than 20 years, and I NEVER had any problems like this with any dealership.STAY AWAY from Koon Silver Spring Ford!!!!UPDATE: As of today (083121) I haven’t received my registration! The excuses they give that NY has delays is all a bluff. Two months ago I registered my brand new F350 in less than two weeks I already got all the papers. Today I was stopped, once again, by the DOT and they gave me a last chance to have my truck registered and told me that next time my truck will be tow. Of course, this dealership doesn’t care about that!!! They just wanted to sell the trucks. Please stay away from this dealer. They don’t know how to do business.
I left a $500 Deposit on a used Car on 10/21/2021 which I was picking up on 10/22/2021. While on my way to the Dealer, 3.5 hours from where I live, a so called Sales MGR calls me to inform me they sold the vehicle, someone I never spoke to before. I was dealing with another Sales MGR and Victor, the General MGR. No one will answer or return my call. I had until end of business 10/22 to purchase this vehicle. Shady untrustworthy Dealership and Personnel. Stay FAR from doing business with them as they do not keep their word! The Transaction on my Amex card is still in a Pending state which shows how little time has passed since I left the deposit. And I took the afternoon off today to pick it up. ZERO stars in my opinion!
Always professional always done when they say theyll be done which is always in a timely manner. Theyre even putting tires on my Chevy today because sport Chevrolet next door is probably the worst dealership Ive ever been to in my entire life and apparently they cant figure out how to do anything right over there. So koons forward to the rescue
Just picked up a Mustang Mach E Premium with no ADM. Hands down the best ford dealer in the area, and not to be confused with the Koons ford in Virginia. They offer a car dealership experience as it should be. A smooth transaction. No hassle. No fuss. Billy Mensh gets a special thumbs up for helping me get this car and keeping an eye out for one of these vehicles for me. This is what a dealership experience should be. Low stress. One of the few dealers that earns its five stars. Professionals work there.
I was dreading having to take my Ford Edge in over the holiday weekend for a recall service, but this service center made it quick and easy! Joann McLean was so helpful—from making an appointment to getting us all set to go. Great waiting area too. Couldn’t have asked for more. If we have any other car needs, we will be back!
I visited Koons recently to have an oil, transmission and differential fluid change completed on my vehicle. When I purchased my vehicle in 2015 I was blown away with the level of service I received as well as the follow up services over the coming years. However there seems to be a huge shift with the quality of service writers since I last visited in 2018. They have become very inattentive and rude; I requested some of the work to be completed and after waiting almost an extra hour after speaking with the service writer Tony, I was told it wasn’t completed because “I said I didn’t want it”. I was very unimpressed with the level of service given. Will continue to have my car serviced in at my dealer in Baltimore
After some initial confusion on scheduling service for my truck, I received a call from the service manager which helped clarify a lot of the confusion. Receiving a direct call from the service manager meant a lot and tells me Koons truly does believe in good customer service. I see a lot of value in shopping and servicing my truck through Koons of Silver Spring and look forward to continuing to do business there!

John Speake took such good care of my daughter and I. The customer service was top notch. This was the best car experience Ive ever had. I found what I wanted online and got a call the next day to come in and I left with exactly what I wanted. John made sure we were taken care of.
I wish I could give a rating lower than one star. Let’s start at the beginning. I called when my car was having problems starting. I proceeded to tell the service agent what the issue was and got cutoff and rushed off the phone while scheduling the appointment. I pride myself on being patient so I chalked it up to the worker having a bad day. When my car was delivered to the dealership I was informed there was no loaners and that I would have to rent a car from enterprise at my expense. Again that’s fine I’ll catch an Uber. My car had a morning appointment and I received no word from the dealership until late afternoon informing me that they could not find a problem and they had no idea why the car was there. Had they listened in the beginning they would have known the problem. I then received another call later telling me the diagnostic would be 150 dollars. No problem. I then heard nothing else. The next day I reached out where the service lady could not get my name right after saying it 4 times and spelling it. She tried to mute the phone and failed so I heard her tell her coworker, “someone is one the phone but I can’t pronounce they name.” When Brandon comes to the phone he has no answer as to what’s wrong with the car. I get a call that evening asking again what the problem was with the vehicle. Once again I tell him the issue as he repeats it to the tech. Day 3- I call to find out what is wrong with my car since I thought the diagnosis had been ran on day 1. The lady gets on the phone and tells me Brandon is on the phone. I then ask her could she take my information and have him call me back. Her response- “you can call him back.”Why would I call him back when I don’t know when he’ll be off the phone? She then says what is your number. I give her the name and number. I doubt Brandon got the message. That was the final straw. I asked to speak to the manager and was given his voicemail. Mark calls me back and then once again says he has no idea what is wrong with my vehicle and he doesn’t even know if the diagnosis has even been ran. You mean you’ve had my car for 3 days with an appointment and you still haven’t even ran a diagnosis? At this point I just wanted my car back. Mark calls me back, says the diagnosis was ran, and they couldn’t find any issues. And it would no be charge for the service. (Was me paying for this subpar customer service even an option)? There was no communication until I reached out asking for status updates and the excuse is “we are super busy.” Too busy to pick up a phone and say something. We ran the diagnostic, sorry we are still looking for the problem, sorry this is taking longer than expected, we should hopefully have an answer soon, anything. If I hadn’t been reaching out for status updates my car would still be with them until September.There were so many opportunities for this dealership to turn this experience around and they choose multiple times not to. I got my car back and it will never come back to this dealership for any reason. I’ve had my Lincoln serviced at many Lincoln dealerships but never have I experienced such deplorable customer service. And they got an award in 2020 for good service. How?
The whole team at Koons Mazda is amazing. I drove three and a half hours to get the truck I wanted from there. They had the best deal on it. My salesman Kirk Daniels stayed late along with the financial and management team so I could drive home in my new truck. I would definitely buy from there again.
This place is great! Everywhere was really busy and this was the only dealership that answered the phone. They were also busy but got me in right away and were very friendly. They got my car in ASAP, went through the warranty and got everything taking care of for me. I will definitely use them again.
Very congested and difficult to see and drive a vehicle. It was a little off putting and they may be a good dealership but I didnt feel like investing the time to wait. The other issue is that on specialty cars they prefer to negotiate the deal ahead of any due diligence to determine if the vehicle suits you. It was another investment of time that could have been resolved by making the vehicle that is for sale available for review. I understand their process and elected to not invest. I must stress that my rating is only my impression and others with actual transactional experience will have better assessments.
I inquired about a 2021 F250 online because I live 100+ miles from the dealership. Within a couple of minutes Steve Hipps from their sales department contacted me and answered all of my questions. He was able to get me a trade in value for my existing truck via text and pictures that was several thousand dollars higher than my local dealership offered me. We set up an appointment to test drive the new truck for the following day. When I arrived at the dealership the truck was ready to test drive. Their finance department got me financing for a lot less than I expected. I was able to drive home with the truck a couple of hours later. Steve’s follow up since the purchase as been impressive. I’ve purchased 25+ vehicles in my lifetime and this was by far the easiest transaction I’ve ever had. I actually felt like I got a great a deal!!!! I would highly recommend Steve and the Koons Silver Springs Ford dealership to anyone who’s looking to purchase a vehicle.
Picked up a good deal on a 2016 F150 Lariat Crew cab. Customer Service was very good. Financing process was quite smooth. Ask for David S. Seems like a straight shooter - no BS, kind of guy.I gave them 5 stars because of the overall process. I knew what I was looking for, they had it and we pretty much did the deal over the phone. Drove 250 miles round trip to finalize everything and in the end it was worth it.They are tough negotiators, but that might be because you get a good price on the Certified Pre-Owned stock from the outset. So if you get a quote over the phone from an internet inquiry, dont expect major price differences when you show up.Would I buy from them again? YES.Would I recommend them...YES.
All I can say is the service department has some staffing issues lately. Made an appt for an oil change, came in at my time. Told it would take 2 hours..Ain’t much else to say about that. I walked out went to jiffy lube and saved myself an hour
Outstanding experience with Reggie Wilkerson. So glad we read the reviews and found him. He was such a joy to work with and quite knowledgeable. The only challenge for us was the dealer managers and how they would come over and try and work the deal for him. It was as if they did not have confidence in him to get it done. The only problem with that is that we were coming to the dealership to buy only SOLELY because of him and he already had us sold and therefore did not feel that he required any handling for the deal to be done. As a business owner, one of the key staples within my success is that I continue to back, support and trust my people and their abilities to do the job. People in the driver seat daily like myself will pick up and see through veneers and recognize weakness within leadership if shown. Other that it was an all around great time working with Reggie and we managed to drive away in the car that we wanted. Thanks Reggie! Our next vehicle is with you no matter where you land as I see your star rising beyond this place real soon if they continue to show the lack of trust I witnessed with this transaction. Other than that a truly great car and a great car buying experience.
Not satisfied at all with the pickup service for retrieving my vehicle. Ive had routine servicing and scheduled repairs both with the same chaos of picking up my vehicle. Either the telephone operators misinform me of the available hours for Saturday pickups and/or service advisors doing the same thing. Its quite inconsiderate. Plus, Ive had my vehicle damaged by the dealership on two different occasions while in the care of the service center. And the inconvenience to have to bring my car back again to drop off is bothersome.I didnt expect this because the people Ive encountered have been nice and inviting. There feels like a disconnect from drop off to pickup and its irritating to deal with. Im leaving this review while on hold for almost 20 minutes to speak to a manager about my canceled shuttle service. When I locate another option for car serving, I am inclined to explore. This has become an added headache, unnecessarily.
I gave Koons Ford a very generous 2 stars because of the quality of their vehicles. Unfortunately my experience was not as good. I scheduled an appointment to see a vehicle the next day. I spoke with customer service over the phone and confirmed the vehicle was available the evening prior and set up a test drive for the next morning. When I arrived the staff informed me the vehicle had been sold and wasn’t available, which is understandable but a courtesy call would have been nice since I told them I was driving from my base almost an hour away.They offered us to take a look at a few of the vehicles they did have available and we did. They were in pretty good condition and the test drives went well so we went to lunch to decide which one we liked while we waited for the salesman to get back with us about the prices. Once we received the phone call we realized they were just slightly above the price we had planned for and asked if they could work with us on a lower payment. The salesman said if we come back I promise we won’t waste your time.We went back under the assumption they would work with us but the salesman said they will not adjust their prices. Disappointed and confused we decided to go ahead and purchase one anyways. The salesman stepped away and was gone for about an hour. When he came back he said that he read the wrong vin number and we would have to pay an additional $2,000 more than what he quoted us.Unfortunately, we had to walk away after spending around 5 hours trying to work with them and not once did the manager or anyone else stop by to say anything about what was at best a series of failures on their behalf and at worst a seedy sales scheme to try to squeeze as much money out of us as possible...
I was very happy with the purchase of my 2012 Hyundai Sonata. It was a great price and only had 40,000 miles on it. The car was immaculate inside and out. The buying experience was pleasant, and there were no price add-ons.They offered warranties,and packages,but I didnt feel pressured to buy them,and didnt except for Gap insurance, which I always purchase anyway.John was nice to deal with.I would purchase a vehicle from then again.
Visited Mazda service. New building and service waiting area are very nice. I have worked with 4 different service advisors and they were all excellent. The work done on my car has been perfect and fairly priced.

Avoid this group of selfish thieves. Asked why my address wasn’t printing the unit number, “oh well fix that in later pages” —> months and my Title never shows up, I have to pay for replacement title. Car only came with 1 key, revealed after purchase (my bad for not checking I guess?? Didn’t know they accepted cars with just 1 key). Transmission was rebuilt at 60kish miles, I had to rebuild again at 78k. But the CARFAX was somehow clean?????Straight slimy tactics. Go anywhere else, I was treated with more respect at small town used-car dealers.
This is my third time purchasing a vehicle from Koons Ford of Silver Spring and once again I was blown away with the experience. Nahr is simply fantastic at what he does and that is making a good relationship with his customers. His professionalism and friendliness go a long way to making a customer feel truly valued. From there the GM Victor came through and helped me save more money when I did not think that would be possible! From top to bottom this is my only dealership I do business with from sales to service and parts. My salesman Kendal Jones definitely great 👍 service he gave. Worked with me with everything.HOWEVER the Lincoln Aviator 2021 Reserve trim has issues with the speaker and the screen. SERVICE TEAM does not know what they are doingThey do not care at all about the customer in any form shape or way.I have the service tech tell me my car is in the shop and I CLEARY SEE MY CAR PARKED WHERE I PARKED THE CARI brought the car in for the same issue two weeks ago and they claimed they fixed it and it’s the same problem. I work at 10 and I came in at 7am8:40 am and NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE WITH THE Car.Koons definitely made me regret leaving carmaxI should’ve never traded my fusion for a Lincoln as luxury gives you more problems than a non luxury carAnd TO SAY THAT THW SERVICE TEAM is just the worst team you will come across with. They made it so easy and were extremely flexible. They let me pay half of my down payment when I left with the car and the other half a week later after I got paid. Lonny also gave me his cell number which made it super easy to communicate after I had left. I also left my parking pass in my old car and the general manager dropped it off outside my house for me. They have a great team and a customer first mentality. I can see their commitment to their jobs even off hours. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a car.
Feeling like I have been snookered a bit. I responded to an ad on eBay for a brand new F150 that looked like a bargain. It was listed with 518 miles and was advertised as new. I decide to buy the truck. I sort out the details with the salesman who was very helpful, and after I send a wire transfer for the full amount of $47,000, he informs me “full disclosure“ this truck has been a demonstrator vehicle for one of the managers and now has 3300 miles on it. Well, this made me feel uncomfortable, but the money had been sent, it was still a good deal overall... fast forward a week and a half and the truck is transported from Maryland to me in California. It arrives with a drop in bedliner, and removing the bedliner panel on the tailgate exposes a good amount of scratches in the paint, and I suspect the bed looks the same way under the bed liner. So somebody got some good use out of this “new“ truck already. I suspect they installed the bedliner to conceal this. Otherwise the truck is in very good condition but it would’ve been nice if I didn’t receive it half a quart low on oil and with the windshield washer reservoir almost empty. I feel like I missed out on that “new car smell“ despite spending a good amount of money. I mentioned my dismay over this detail (not so new) with the salesman, another gentleman who called to follow up, and in response to an email from who I presume this the general manager. No real response from any of them, though the salesman told me he understood.
Today I went back for my 30k service and while waiting I decided to visit the showroom...😬Brian W. was the sales rep I came across. Very helpful and understanding of what I was looking for. This is the 3rd vehicle I purchase from here and the customer services keeps getting better! If you need a car with the best deal... Brian is the man!!!! Forgot to mention they were able to get me out of the dealership within a few hours since I was with 3 of my kids 😱

I had a great experience at Koons Mazda Silver Spring, working with John Speake. I used Costco’s car buying service and everything went just as promised. Ended up with a great low-key, low pressure purchase, a terrific price, and exactly what I wanted in my CX-30. Also got a good trade-in on my old car.In addition, I feel like everyone was trying hard to make my experience as “clean” as possible, important to me in COVID times. The dealership was spotless, especially the bathrooms.I definitely recommend Koons and John.

I just purchased a used Corolla. The sales staffer Jackie was outstanding. She was very helpful. She listened to what I was looking for and had the cars I was interested in already brought out and ready to look at when I arrived at the dealer. She found out what vehicles I was Interested in and answered all my questions. She made sure I got the best deal. She knew my budget and worked within that price range with no pressure. I have bought several cars over the years and this was by far the most enjoyable experience! I will return . Well done!
Service was great and they got me in and out of there quickly. They offered me a loaner vehicle which I would have taken if I had realized it was an option.The repair was a warranty repair to an expedition sunroof. Its not totally clear if the sunroof issue is resolved. Well spend a week or two with it before revisiting and will update the review to five stars if the issue is actually fixed.
Ford you are FANTASTIC!This is a long story but trust me it is definitely worth the time and trust me it will be a great read.In May 2016 my husband and I were getting our vehicles inspected to get new Maryland plates. Side Note: We had moved to Maryland because I had gotten a new job. Back to the story, I had a 2010 Ford Fusion and he had a 2003 GMC Sierra Truck. The inspector told us that it would be hundreds of dollars in repairs to have the vehicles meet standards to get Maryland plates. I told the inspector, no thanks put the car back together not going to do this…”. The shop was across the street from “Automobile Boulevard”. So I was like, “Let’s go! We’re getting new cars.”The first dealership we came to was Sports Chevrolet of Silver Spring. The sales representative was salivating once I told him we wanted to trade both cars in for a not one, but TWO new cars. He showed us the 2016 Malibu. One was black fully loaded, the other brown with turbo. The brown car caught my husband’s eye he was like, “You got get this one. No one has a car in this color. And I don’t want you to get another black car because I don’t want to have to work so hard to keep it clean.” He then showed us the 2016 Equinox, and my husband was like, “This is the car that I want”.Now if you haven’t noticed I haven’t said a word. Once we begin to talk about the deal, I say to my husband, “I really want another fusion. I don’t know anything about Chevrolet.” My spirit was not feeling this car. But because my husband was so excited about this beautiful brown Malibu, I caved and we got the 2016 Malibu and the 2016 Equinox.Fast forward 9 months and the check engine light comes on while I’m getting off the freeway and the car starts putting. The car has engine problems, the pistons are the issue.Four months after that the check engine light comes on again and this time it’s a sensor that was not replaced when the repair was done to the engine.Six months after that my husband says, “Kathy, I think your car is leaking oil. When you get home call me so I can check.” I get home and my husband looks under the car and sure enough the car is leaking oil. I take it back to the dealership and with no compassion or concern they just said, “ We’ll fix it. I said, “I don’t want this car anymore”. I began social media campaign #ReplaceMyMalibu and couldn’t believe all the people that were experiencing major issues with their car Malibu’s too! Side Note: At this point the car only has 23,000 miles on it.Needless to say, by this time I miss my Ford Fusion big time!Moving forward to December 2018, someone backed into my the Malibu in the DRIVE-THRU of the McDonalds’! Then in January of 2019 someone side swiped the Malibu. At this point, I had enough, I had to get rid of this “Monster Malibu” at ANY cost.My husband knew he had to make this right and recognize that I was right and we should have stuck with Ford. He went to Koons’ Ford of Silver Spring website and found a 2019 Black Ford Fusion (my old car the 2010 Fusion was black as well). Knowing that we were upside and credit challenged, we knew this was going to be a long shot in trying to get out of the Malibu into the Fusion.We met Tareq at the dealership. We told him our horror story and he was so sympathetic and empathic to our problem. He said he would do everything he could to get us out of the “Monster Malibu” and into the Fusion. Working with his Sales Manager and the Finance Manager, and prayers to the most high, he told us he worked out a deal. Talk about relief! I honestly had tears of joy because I knew I was finally getting into a reliable and beautiful car.This story is what your testimonial videos are made of and Tareq and the team at Koons Ford in Silver Spring deserves some recognition because trust me when I say getting us out of the “Monster Malibu” into the “Fabulous Fusion” was nothing but a miracle.

Koons Silver Spring Ford was ABSOLUTELY amazing. Mr. Alex Reyes took the time to explain what each and every button did, all the features, and explained performance and capabilities. I appreciate that he and the manager were attentive and listened to what I wanted, and were not just trying to push me out the door with ANY car, but matched me with something I would be absolutely in love with. They are very friendly, and trust worthy. I visited several Ford dealerships in the process of deciding which I wanted, and Koons Ford of Silver Spring was the most genuine, and honest dealership I visited. I would recommend Koons Ford over any other dealership.

Buyer beware! I knew buying a used car would have risks and potential problems. The problems, although inconvient, does not compare to the horrible customer service. I bought a used 2017 jeep renegrade on 10/23. I would never reccomend buying a different make from this dealership. I had to bring back the car on 10/30 because when it rained outside somehow water was dripping from the ceiling over top the rearview mirror. Also the sensors for the right turn and brake lights repeatedly kept coming on after I checked them to find the perfectly working.When I brought it in I was told by the service center it wouldnt be seen till the next day. No problem with me. The next day came and I heard nothing by the evening. This was the start of many times I had to call to get any answers or updates on the car. I was told the car had to be taken to a jeep dealership for the problem to be resolved. Thus began a back and forth over when and where the car could be serviced.Originally over a week would be when the car could be seen at a jeep dealership. When I asked for a loaner from the salesman I purchased the car fromgot me a number to contact someone who is in charge of the loaners. I called that number multiple times for 2 days, leaving voicemails, and leaving messages with the secretary without a call back. I did finally got in touch with her just for her to pass me off to another higher up who happened to have left the dealership after I been calling all day.Luckily this person did call me(for the first and only time this company reached out to me) and explained they found a sooner appointment, no loaners would be available for me, and that I needed to pick up my Jeep and when service was done pick it up at the different dealer. Frustratingly I explained how if this was communicated with me even a day ago I could have made plans on my off days of work to pick up the car. Working multiple night shifts at a hospital left me no choice in leaving the car at the dealership until it was fixed. I was reminded that It is your car. There is no issues driving it. To me there is major issues. Mainly the issue if water leaking somewhere in the car messing with the electronics, the water creating mold in mildew in the fabric, or the fact I will be getting wet while driving in the car.So the car sat at the dealership until it was drove to Ourisman CDJR. I called that dealership the next day to get an update on the car. They told me they already spoke to Koons about the problems. But once again it was radio silence to me from Koons. I had to inform them about the light issues because the stated they only heard about the water leak. This new dealership kept in contact with me over the next 2 weeks about ordering parts and when the car shall be ready for pickup.When they told me the car was finished, I prepared to drive to clarksville to pick it up. I planned to pick up my tags at Koons and make my way to Ourisman. Luckily for me I decided to make Koons my first stop since they stated my car was on the way to their dealership now once I was at the dealership. This was completely different from what Koons and Ourisman had communicated to me over the phone. When I was handed over the car I was told by a manager that Remember to make sure the roof is all the way locked. As if replacing the water seal of the roof was due to me unlocking and locking the roof. When I brought up the warning lights the manager told me to just go back to Ourisman to handle that issue if the problem persisted.As soon as I started the car I noticed to my disappointment that indeed the parking brake and the right turn signal still remained alarming. Then to top it off my gas tank was left on E with the gas light on. When I left it over 3 weeks ago it had a half tank of gas. But I was glad that I finally had my car back and would hopefully be done dealing with Koons Silver Spring.I had picked the car up Thursday 11/21 and on Sunday 11/24 the car was leaking water even faster now inside. I have bought my last 3 trucks from Koons and when I read about the Tremor package, I knew it was time to stop in again. I wanted a F250 King Ranch with the Tremor package and 7.3 Godzilla V8. Billy Mensh was very helpful in ordering the truck from Ford just the way I wanted it. I got the power running boards and heated seats. Was surprised when it had massage seats as well! Always wanted them and didnt realize that was part of the King Ranch Ultimate package. More bells and whistles than I have figured out yet how to use but fun driving and learning. Billy even changed the color for me from Blue Jeans to Star White when I changed my mind. Happy I did. The truck looks and drives fantastic. Thanks again Billy!UPDATEMy truck ended up being bought back by Ford due to an issue that couldnt be resolved by the service department. Throughout the buy back process Billy Mensch was very helpful in assiting in the ordering of a new truck, exactly like the 1st one! He always made sure I had transportation until the new one was ready and while the buyback process can be trying, I wouldnt hesitate to come back to Koons of Silver Spring anytime for a vehicle.
Let me start by saying that Koons of Silver Spring has a truly amazing car salesman whom I consider an access to their dealership because of the professional and kind way he assisted me in purchasing my initially leased, but now proud owner of a Ford Escape Titanium. He allowed me time to browse, he was very knowledgeable in answering all of my questions, he readied my selection for possession in a timely manner, assisted me in downloading my phone and contact list to my truck, lol, handed me his business card, and informed me that if I needed any assistance after I left the premises to feel free to contact him. During my lease period Billy periodically emailed me to see how things were going with the lease, and when the lease was up, Billy helped me make a smooth and satisfying purchase. Bought a 2020 Ford transit with a Reading aluminum body on the back. I’ve had electrical issues from the day I purchased it. Have had a very difficult time getting service scheduled or response from the service department. I am regretting that I ever purchased this vehicle and I would never buy another one. And I certainly would never use Koons Ford service department ever.

First off I would like to give a major Thanks to the team over at the Koons of Silver Spring. Muhammad, John Speake, Jayda and any other colleague that assisted in my car buying experience. I dont say experience lightly. I arrived and was warmly welcomed by John. When then got straight to the financing process. As many may know car buying can be a nail buying process especially when coming to financing at the dealer. I already had a pre-approval, but there were some issues on my end. They never mentioned any hiccups they may have encountered. I was prepared to not get the vehicle I wanted, and for John to try and talk me down. I am more than grateful that wasnt the case. I was able to finance at a lower rate than my pre-approval, and became a new owner of a F150. I want to extend my THANKS TO THE ENTIRE KOONS TEAM.
Took my car in for service. Everybody is wearing face covering, so that is reassuring to see. Ernesto, service manager, took great care of me and my car. We communicated by text and he even sent me a picture of my car under service! Picked up my car today and got to work with other service managers since Ernesto was not in. They were all friendly. I used an email coupon sent to me by the dealer, and though the coupon validation took a little time, they honored it and I barely paid anything in the end. Will be back again!

When we showed up for our test drive, we were immediately greeted by the sales manager who remembered us and was so welcoming!! Our salesman was so helpful and chill during the whole buying process! We never felt pressured and he even gave us the out the door price immediately when we said we wanted to buy it and always kept every charge in the clear! We werent even pressured to buy add-ons or warranties! They were extremely open to our negotiations and gave us a great discount and amazing trade in!! Dont go to John Speake. He lied to me and told me the warranties were mandatory and I must pay for it. He also lied about the price of the car. I read the paperwork and they are not mandatory, which means I cant trust any of the information he told me. Im looking to buy 3 more vehicles asap for my business, but I wont be going here, or referring any of my friends who also buy a lot of cars.

A week ago today, I pulled off the lot with my new 2017 Acura MDX. I am used to Acura and I strayed away for a bit, but Im back and I am glad about it! We had a wonderful experience at Koons Silver Spring Mazda! We went there Sunday afternoon after 5 pm (they close at 6 pm). Before we went there we communicate with John Speake (who is a great person to work with!) about our intents to look at a certain car. When we arrived he was already cooling the car and ready for us. We did the test drive and loved the car. He provided us the numbers and the process was very quick compare to other experiences we had with car buying. Today makes my SECOND extremely shady experience with this dealership. The first time, one of the technicians took apart my car after I refused to pay the price they quoted over the phone and said I would instead be coming to pick it up. When I got there it wasnt ready and his supervisor said and I quote he wanted to see if he could figure out if it was something else. Aka they didnt want me to leave without at least paying for something. My quote magically went from $800 to $200. They also left some kind of big metal block in the front seat floor which I politely dropped off in a Safeway parking lot when I noticed it. Theyre clearly CARELESS! Now today I brought my car in for regular maintenance and the guy pulled it around, is gone for quite some time, then comes back with a photo of my bumper saying oh by the way somebody must have bumped your car just wanted to show you this so you dont blame us. My car is garaged, hasnt been driven in 3 months and when I do drive I make sure to double park or park far away to ensure nobody hits my car. And I JUST hand wiped the dust from it about a week ago. No such bump! This will be my last visit to this little reckless and poorly operated shop.

I purchased a vehicle there this past February. During the purchase process the sales rep made a mistake on the warrant paperwork and didn’t correct it at that time. I requested several times to received the correct documentation without success. Because of their mistake, now I have to pay 7K in repairs for a 2020 truck. I would NOT recommend this place. Take your business someplace else, they DON’T CARE about customer service.
Mike Anderson is a great sales man. He was knowledgeable about every car I asked about. Walking into a dealership and not know exactly what I wanted was very overwhelming. Mike did a wonderful job calming my fears and walking me through each car and each feature with a professionalism and patience that cannot be taught. I can say that I have referred several friends who are in the market for a new car to this dealer and have told them to ask for this sales man I left very satisfied with my experience.

Not very Covid-19 compliant. The salespeople do not wear their masks properly inside. They tried to sell us a service plan 3 times as if they didnt understand no the first time. Car is clean and in great condition.
Update- So my husband corrected me about his visit. The service attendant named Felix told him that although he did not see anything about the AC needing to be serviced and the person that would work on it wasnt there, my husband could call and schedule another appointment with Felix himself and it would get done. So thank you Felix. Because you made my husband feel good that even though there was a communication breakdown that day, you would be able to help get it right. I am sorry if your supervisor came down on you because of my previous post. The post was not about you but the person responsible to let you know that I had requested 2 services for the appointment. One for the 20k check-up and another to check the AC. I am still unhappy with THAT person because the day was still wasted and our 2 week vacation was made uncomfortably hot without a working AC while we were on the road.Not happy with the non- service today. So I went online to schedule my 20k maintenance because I got an email from them saying it was getting close to that time. I also have been having issues with the AC so in the comment box for additional services I added to check the AC. Even though I knew it is one of the many checks they do on the 20k inspection I wanted to be sure they addressed it since the summer will only heat up more. So my husband shows up early for the appointment and gets turned away since my mileage was less than 20k. And since there was no additional service requests placed for the appointment, they wouldnt even check the AC. What kind of BS is that? Waste of a morning. And still, we have no AC. Thanks for nothing Koons!

So honestly, if you’re looking for a new Ford, stop in here. My wife and I in the past 7 years have now purchased or leased 4 vehicles now and our experience here was by far the easiest. You’re not going to get that “typical” buying experience that people dread. They’re good guys and will work with you to find the vehicle that works for you at a very fair price. Ask for Lonny or Frank and they’ll do you right.
Do not recommend buying from this dealership!! I purchased a vehicle from this dealer a few years back, my car is now paid off however I am not able to retrieve my title because Koons finance dept submitted the wrong lien holder information to the DMV. The bank that financed my car is NOT the bank listed on my lien. Ive reached out to Koons a number of times for assistance, no call backs and no replies. Thankfully I was able to google the bank info and they have somewhat helped but its been an ongoing headache because of a MAJOR oversight from Koons Finance Dept. Even after making Koons aware of the issue, there was no concern or regard for their mistake, they simply dismissed and never followed up.Extremely poor customer service and they make big mistakes that will cost you later. I dont recommend buying from them!!

I live in PA and took a chance on Koons Silver Spring Ford because they had the exact new vehicle that I wanted. It turned out that they were thousands of dollars cheaper than my local dealers and I could not be any happier with the experience. The negotiation was painless, easy and they were honest. They also handled the PA sales tax and tags which made things easier for me. I have purchased multiple new cars over the years from various brands and I never had an experience as good as this from any dealer.

I had my eyes set on a Ford Explorer for a couple of months now. I wasn’t going to settle lol. When I met Magdala, I told her my needs and wants.
