I’d been coming here for my contacts for a few years and my experience was fine up until today. I made an appointment last week for 11:30 and I called this week to reschedule it but I was told I didn’t have an appointment; I figured mistakes happen no big deal and made a new appointment for 3.00. Then I got a text message this morning( day of of appointment) saying I had an appointment for 11:30. I called to let them know I’d switched it to 3 & she informed me that I had two appointments but cancelled the 11:30. I was a little annoyed but I brushed it off. When I arrived at 3, they asked me to pay $15 copay. Then a few min later told me that the appointment wasn’t for contacts. Now I’m really annoyed b/c nobody asked that info when I made the appointment. She asked me to pay an extra $100 so I did. After waiting for 15 min I asked when I will see the doctor. She said he was with an patient and didn’t know. What’s the point of making an appointment if you can’t respect people’s time? I asked- at which I got a shrug. At this point I’d lost my patience because I had another appointment at 5 so I asked for a refund and left. Maybe I wasn’t in the best mood, but that was one too many things for me to deal with today.

I love American Eye Care Center. The staff is welcoming. They do their best to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Dr. P. is patient, understanding and calm. He explains everything. I recommend this center for your eye care.

My wife and I visited this practice upon the recommendation of my primary physician and my son who is also a Physician and have had professional interactions with Dr. Hameed PerachaThe staff at the reception were very courteous and professional and after an acceptable short wait time we were ushered into the office by a Physician Assistant who was extremely professional and apologized for the delay as she had to spend more time than expected with a patient prior to us This is not unusual in a medical practice as some patients need more time than others. In any case, her prelim exams were detailed and we did not feel that she was rushing to catch up lost time.Dr. Hameed subsequently checked on us and patiently answered all our queries and concerns. He is extremely knowledgeable and a professional to the core while courteous service to his patients.My wife and I are pleased with the practice and wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Hameed Peracha’s practice. We are scheduled for another exam in two weeks and comfortable that we are in safe hands

This is my second time visiting American Eye Care Center and my experience got worse. The first time, I had a little bit of wait, but it was not too bad. Today however, I waited an more than a hour and 10 minutes and ended up having to leave due to having another appointment scheduled. I am thoroughly disappointed with the visit and would tell anyone going to clear you day because it would be a two plus hour wait to get routine eye exam.

From the moment my husband I walked into American Eye Center we were greeted and attended to by a friendly and attentive staff. This friendliness and attentiveness was felt from the beginning all the way to the end of our office visit. Dr. Peracha was friendly, very knowledgeable and took his time to explain his findings. I am sooo happy I found them! Please look no further and book your next eye care visit!

Dr. Perachee and his staff were very professional in the way I was attended too. The staff are very receptive and accommodating of my needs and right schedule. I have been to a couple of eye doctors, but the quality of service, asking of the right question and engagement was amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend his service to friends n family.

My mother had an appointment for the first time today. Dr. Peracha is very rude and disrespectful and was rushing through the whole appointment. Not a good impression at all!! Front desk is friendly but the doctor is careless about his patients! Do not recommend!

Dr. Peracha saved my right eye. I was desperate as my condition had worsened from overuse of my contact lenses. I needed a doctor right away. While most eye doctors were days to weeks out, he took me in and diagnosed an ulcer in my right cornea from an infection . He facilitated the acquisition of special antibiotics that are not found at a typical pharmacy, but instead had to be custom made at a trauma center in Washington Hospital Center. My sight returned within two weeks after treatment. Had it not been for him, I’d be blind in that eye. I am forever grateful for his diligence and care.

This is one of the best clinics I have ever visited. Dr. Peracha has such a nice, calm and soothing personality, you almost do not want to leave. By the time he is finished, you know you have received top quality care, with no questions left unanswered. Keep up the good job.

Do not come here please! This is one of the most unprofessional eye practices Ive ever seen. If you run 10min late, then you may wait 60min plus to get seen. Or not get seen at all. The front staff are too soft-spoken and/or cant give time estimates. Its not a large practice, so customer service should *really* matter most. Not here. Wow. Looking for another eye doc.

Dr Peracha is very good doctor. his staff is excellent, they all know what they doing except for one that Indian lady not in uniform. She does not know how to talk or how to dress up at work place and sitting in front of office talking all loud and rude.

Good experience. I recommend it to a co worker who will come here to get his glasses too. I think they really have super great deals. If you want food glasses you should check them out. They are locate it in down town silver spring. There is parking on the street right next to the store.

The people here have a true eye (no pun intended) for treating their customers with care and respect as each step is deliberate for the health of your vision. You can tell by the passion the doctors have for you as they explain the best thing for you and your eyes!From the front desk to the eye doctor, exceptional patient care! I was very nervous about getting my eyes checked, so I was frantic. That was not a problem for this place, as they assisted me with my insurance, kept me VERY calm as I almost panicked around a machine near my eye, and explained everything in detail of each part of the process to my comfort. Ive been to this place four times now, and Ive tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because theyve gotten such good online reviews, but I feel like they ultimately are trying to push a brand of contacts that they partner with rather than address my needs as a patient. As a result, Ive had to spend time, money, and effort but have ultimately walked away empty-handed. I plan to go somewhere else where I feel like my best interests as a patient are considered rather than the monetary gain of the doctor/company.

Dr Peracha is great doctor, very professional and through. I am Glade I went to see him and he answered my every single question in detail and he educate me about eye conditions with eye modal. He spent at least half a hour with me and I never had this type of exam with any other doctor means thoroughly. His office staff is very friendly and welcoming. When you enter in this office they look at you with smile and welcome you there. Office is very clean and new, you feel very comfortable during the time you are there. I highly Recommend this place to everyone if you need eye exam or Glasses.

It was the best service I ever had. It’s all about quality when you come into a place like this and Shoaib, the office manager at this branch went above and beyond to make sure that I was taken care of. I went to the office one week ago. It was full of people but the staff was very efficient. They took care of me after five minutes. Though I waited little long, 20 minutes, but they treat me good. The technician screen me in detail and put the drops in my eyes. I waited for thirty minuted to see the doctor. He is a professional and knowledgeable doctor. He explained me in detail about the conjunctivitis which I had in my both eyes. He also gave me the sample and prescription of the medicine. After three days, I got better when I used the medicines. Thanks to Dr. Peracha.I saw an other ophthalmologist for the same reason/complain but did not get better even I used the medicine for a week.I am glad that I visited to American eye care center.

I had a great experience at the American Eye Care Center both times Ive been. This time, there was some unfortunate confusion about whether I came for a contacts fitting or a checkup, but the staff was incredibly helpful and managed to get it worked out for me. My appointment did start about 15-30 minutes late, but it wasnt a terrible wait, and the service was certainly worth it. Dr. Peracha was very pleasant and very thorough, as was the medical assistant who also worked with me.

I visited American Eye Care Center recently for a full eye exam and contact fitting. The entire staff was so helpful assisting me through the insurance process. In particular the technician, Jose, went above and beyond to help me get everything situated with my contacts. I will definitely stay with the practice.

The receptionist staff was effective and as friendly as can be! Wait time was longer than expected, and there wasnt much transparency with how long I was waiting between getting my eyes dialated and seeing the doctor (speaking for myself), but once I was received, my service was top notch! This practice could benefit from a couple more doctors on staff, but yesterday was my first time there, so perhaps they were just short staffed on a Saturday. Overall, very solid treatment experience; I would highly recommend it!

Long wait, non communicative doctor on the cusp of being incompetent. Equipment was questionable, both dirty and required me holding it in place. Billing attempted to overcharge. They do not voluntarily provide you with your prescription when you finish and will not respond to emails, messages or calls. We will not recommend or return. Costco is the way to go. I cannot believe the other reviewers are actual patients.

Great service, good selection of glasses, and the optician who worked with me did an excellent job of helping me select a frame and measuring for my progressive lenses. They also did a special order set of sunglasses. The Zeiss lenses they made are high quality and have been a joy to wear. I intend to go back to these guys for my next set of glasses!

I was there on Saturday First of all Dr. Peracha really good doctor. He took his time, examine me answer my all questions but the optician i think his name is Fahaaad is really rude and blabbing non sense non stop and keep insulting his college (the girl in hijab i forgot to ask her name) keep telling other customer that ohh shes PMSING, and keep laughing on the top of his lungs which is really rude and unprofessional for him to say like that. Poor girl did not even say a word to him. I hope Dr. Peracha take action against him. He also put me in uncomfortable situation when he asked me if im single and if i want to go on date with him its really unprofessional. Besides that my overall experience with Dr. And other stuff was excellent.

Do not go there. I will be walking out the second I finish writing this review.Two visits in, and both times I had to wait for more than an hour to be seen.I am currently sitting in the waiting room, in which the doctor sent me right after applying numbing gel on my eyelid for an incision. Its been long enough for me to feel my eyelid again. In the meantime, he checked 4 other patients telling me he would see me soon.

Open on Saturday, which is very convenient. Staff was courteous, efficient and helpful. The entire process, paperwork, eye exam and choosing a frame took about 1 hour, and the glasses will be ready in a week. Well done.

I was present in the waiting area when he was asked to speak with an irate patient. His tone and conduct was commendable, and this resulted in the patient becomg satisfactorily calmed.

This place is a rip off. They charged me $133 upfront for a check up after insurance deduction. Now they sent me another $33 bill after 2 months. I had to wait two hours in the office before the Dr. saw me. Didnt get a relief and it was a total waste of time and money.

I moved to a different state and thus would like to request my medical records to release to my new eye doctor. I called at least 6 times for 2 weeks, they kept told me they will fax it but actually did nothing. So disappointing... they dont care at all if you are no longer their patient. Not even just faxing over your records...

Dr. Peracha office is very nice and wonderful, I love the staff who work there nice and professional. And I also like the equipment and tools that they use to help the people with there vision, so they can see more clearly and make there life better.

I know nothing about the quality of care here because when my insurance questioned them about my supposed out of pocket expenses before treatment, they refunded my money and I left. Watch out for questionable billing practices and unnecessary expensive tests.

I like this Office because they help their Patients With accommodations I have an example I came with really bad pain they see me right away they dont waited .Many offices they dont care even if you have a medical condition, they also have interpreter for Spanish Community.Dr.Peracha spend time with you and i also like that many doctors they just want their PA to see their patients. I visited American Eye Care Center yesterday and saw Dr Peracha he is very good eye doctor because he examined me very thoroughly and explained me in detailed all my medical conditions of eyes. I will be coming back after one year to see dr peracha for comprehensive eye exam and I also order the glasses from there and they explained me in detailed about progressive Lenses and how to use that but now I am waiting for getting the glasses back and see how its going to be but they have best frames in there store it was hard for me to decide which frame should I pick up and staff helped me to chose. There staff is very friendly and helpful too. I recommend everyone to go to American Eye care Center for eye exam and glasses.

I went to american eye care center for comprehensive eye exam and contact lense fitting, my experience at this location was amazing, b/c As soon as i entered the office, i recieved a very warm welcome from the staff, everyone was very friendly polite and helpful. Although wait time was little long but the wait time was worth the attention i got. After got contact lenses training tech put the drops I waited for 20 min for dilation and when Dr Peracha called me he was more than everyone I saw before because he was very polite and he did my exam very thoroughly and he answered me for my every single question then i came to know why I waited long because doctor was that though and detailed. I went to this place for just exam but I ended ordering my contact lenses and I ordered a pair of glasses to only because of the treatment I got at this place and people helped me with glasses they gave me a great opinion and I will say honest opinion. I will go this place again next year for my exam as dr peracha recommended me for yearly eye exam. Thanks everyone one and doctor.

This was my first time at the office and Shoabi the receptionist was extremely helpful and caring . The office was nothing but positive and friendly making you feel at home!

Very nice people are nice but dont go there if you dont want your time wasted. Was there two hours, and the exam took 15 mins. The other 1 and 45 mins I was waiting Another lady even came in after I already waited an hour and the doctor took her before me. Then every time you call they immediately put you on hold. When I initially called to schedule an appointment I was put on hold and told they would call me back. They never called back I had to call again the next day. I wasnt going to give a bad review because they were so nice, but when I called today I was put on hold for five minutes she picked back up and put me on hold again. Wont be coming back.

Dr. Peracha is an incredible ophthalmologist. He is very caring, personable and polite. Whenever I have come in for an exam or check up I am very satisfied with the care and service that is provided here.I never feel rushed. Dr Peracha really takes the time to go over my exam, make reccomendations and answer any questions I may have. He is very friendly and approachable.I have no issue getting in contact with him or the office manager if I need anything. In the past I have needed medical documents that have my vision information on them for my drivers license and I was able to get it faxed/emailed over to me right away over a single phone call.If you are looking for a professional, honest and friendly ophthalmologist look no further. *UPDATE* While the customer service was good, the glass themselves are the worst quality Ive ever had (and I ordered ones valued at $250). The day I got them, there was a little speck in the middle of the glasses that I thought could just be cleaned. When I used my eye glass cloth to clean it, it only became bigger. Within 1 month, the glasses had lots of mini scratches to the point of being unusable because the protective coating had come off. Its a complete waste of money, and I would NOT recommend this place because of the poor quality of the glasses I received.Customer service and patient care are everything, and American Eye Care Center prioritizes both. I chose this place based on online reviews, and Im so satisfied that I am writing my own (which I rarely do). First things first, there is metered street parking right outside the building, which is convenient. Dr. Peracha did a comprehensive eye exam and explained things carefully to me. He even repeated the exam because I wasnt convinced with the results. I then had to pick out my frames, and I cannot overemphasize how incredibly kind and patient Janette (optician) was with me, as I took over an hour to make my decision. She did not rush me (which is important to people like me who take time to make their decisions) and gave me her honest opinion. There is a good selection of glasses, and there are always deals available to people who do not have insurance. Even Shoaib (manager) and Yuzra (receptionist) were kind enough to come over and give me their frank opinions on my frame choices. Afterwards, Shoaib and Janette went over my financial options with me, and it was clear to me that they cared about my eye health, budget, and customer satisfaction, not just about their profits. To top it all off, they told me it would take up to 10 business days to pick up my prescription glasses, but Ive just received a call that they are ready after just 2 days. I would highly recommend American Eye Care Center to anyone, and I will be a regular customer from now on.

There is no point to make an appointment with this doctor. Usually wait time at least 2 hours even though you make an appointment. So disappointed.
