A very bad experience and I decided to go to Tw Perry, to buy the materials. The agent who attended us with the initials GEN was rude and gave us a terrible service, also inexperienced without knowledge in the field of materials much less work she does, she felt rushed because it was going to be time to close the store, also nothing nice about that. Honestly so bad customer service. Hopefully this doesnt happen to someone else, they have a job thanks to the materials and products that we customers buy.
Good selection and great service. A dollar more than the blue and orange store, but buying local from knowledgeable staff is always a win.
You can find everything that you need, professional service.
If youre a pro, this may be great. If youre not a pro, it has a good selection of lumber that beats HD in quality and the staff that helps you load it in your vehicle is helpful in discarding bad wood. But if you arent sure what you want or where thing are or how to proceed, the process is a bit hard to figure out. And the search engine on their website is pretty much unusable.
Great place for lumber and not too hard to get some help when its needed.
You pay for competent assistance and to save time. Its worth every nickel. This is a great place.
Showroom is open by appointment only, though they mention nothing about this on their website, and they don’t pick up their phone, so I only found out when I arrived to find the showroom door locked. Waste of a good 20 minutes driving over here. Avoid
The material you need ....good prices and quality
The lovely plant display in the window was what made me stop. They had an even better selection inside. The staff was also kind and practicing good social distancing measures.
Great staff who are helpful and knowledgeable.
Great products, nice staff.
Their truck crashed into my parked car one morning and then proceeded to rudely deny all responsibility, despite eyewitness testimony and time stamped photographs of the incident. Filing a claim against their insurance company despite having a police report which clearly documented the offense has proven to be an excruciating and time consuming experience. Worse, the accident could have been easily avoided were the foreman slightly less lazy. It was extremely foolish to attempt to steer an 18 wheeler into our narrow back alley in order to save the effort of having to carry a couple of windows an extra 30 feet. If you like to do business with a company that cuts corners, hires incompetents, is insured in name only and does not take any ownership for its actions, I heartily endorse TW Perry.
Like a home depot in a pocket size version
The guys in the custom trim showroom literally never answer the phone. I get trim matched often and have never once gotten through to someone on the phone. It’s quite incredible.
Way better than any big box store.
Great lumber yard and hardware store. Cant believe I didnt know it was here for years!
Friendly awesome people work there!
TW Perry’s is the most friendly building supply warehouse.
This place is really two entirely different stores: an unremarkable and adequate lumberyard/hardware store and an absolutely disastrous window and door retailer. We have had absolutely nothing but trouble through the entire selection, purchasing, and delivery processes and we still dont have either the correct doors or even usable doors.Their customer service is terrible. They fail to return calls or emails and it takes weeks to get an actionable quote to finally give them money to purchase doors and windows leading to delays in our renovation project entirely because of TW Perry. It took longer than stated to get everything in stock. We had to visit their warehouse three separate times to pick up our order because despite telling us three different times it was ready...it was not. Once we did finally pick up the doors, we wished we hadnt. The doors were nicked, warped, and hardware was installed incorrectly. They were entirely unusable and the full order still has not come in. We canceled it and have moved on.Throughout the entire process their customer service has been abysmal. Local companies like TW Perry love to complain about online and big box companies putting them out of business. Instead, its almost always their own poor customer service. If you need lumber, maybe this is a place to consider going (though their customer service is completely hit or miss and if you want to cut a 14 down to an 8 and 6, its the biggest hassle ever - though Home Depot happily did it for me!). If you instead are in the market for doors and windows I cannot warn you off enough. Just stay away from this disaster of a store. The dust, disruption, and damage of a home renovation dont hold a candle to the frustration of working with TW Perry!
Do not buy ANYTHING at this location, manager is incompetent and doesn’t know anything about everything. Bought an electrical panel that was the wrong size and absolutely refused to do a refund although I have my original receipt and packaging. Extremely rude and very unhelpful.
The process with the salesperson has dragged out for A MONTH AND A HALF and is still not finished because we need a door picked-up. The wrong size door was ordered and the salesman who started the process with in the showroom, (lets call him Chris M.) is unresponsive and unhelpful (it takes days to reach him and when he finally responds the responses are curt and do not provide nearly enough info.
Purchased beautiful stain-grade wood baseboards here that are great quality and very uniform. Been back for several other items and have been very happy with them all.
I really wanted to like this place because I live in the neighborhood. I bought a couple pieces of lumber after showing the sales person a picture of what I needed. I didn’t know how much I needed so I specifically asked if the extra couple be returned. They sold me something different from the picture (much more expensive) and then told me I couldn’t return it. I feel like I got totally tricked. To his credit, the second sales associate said he talked to a manager but that person never came and spoke to me. At least Home Depot lets you return stuff even if it’s your mistake! Will not return.
Great lumber yard/hardware store. Wonderful customer service. A treasure!
The best place ever in world. Great Home improvement material, great customer service. Specially silver spring TW Perry, from office sells and counter clerk and outdoor service in each bay great team work, make you freindly and family, every day coffee and weekly donut and summer time customer admiring food and drink and chance to win game. All employes from A-Z great love and quality materials for home improvement.
Every time I get a delivery, the supplies arrive in good shape and in a timely fashion. The drivers are careful and courteous, too. Great place to do business!
Very helpful guys and with a good attitude
High prices
They are very loud, talking, joking and has no patience to answer questions
Very nice selection given the floor space and only 1/2 mile walk from the house.
Good convenient place, the prices are a little high for regular Hardware items, specialty stuff theyre great
This is the place where the real pros go. TW Perry came up with a way to stay in business in the era of the big box stores and their race to the bottom, and that is by focusing on people for whom time is money. If you know what you want you can call or go in to the store, give them your order and have the stuff on your site the next day. All their lumber and building materials are first quality, unlike the stuff at the orange place where you have to pick through a whole bin of 2 bys to find a few straight ones, and they cost less, maybe because they arent storing building materials in an air conditioned building. Hardware and tools are more expensive here and the selection is limited to stuff pros buy, so if you are looking for a cheap sawzall knockoff you will need to go somewhere else. All that being said, they are happy to take money from DIYers and will give good advice, although you may have to wait a while to get it, but when you do they will actually know what they are talking about.
Knowledgeable, helpful and *available* staff to advise on home repair needs.
Pack your patience! Showroom typically understaffed and must flag down a sales associate yourself. I was assured a quote would be emailed the following Monday. After numerous emails and phone calls never heard a thing a month later. Sales associate I worked with would answer his mobile but would just blame the manufacturer. Best thing is to review the product there, then research online and find a separate dealer in the area. If you are looking for thermatru doors, just go to Lowes.
Great place for construction products, very knowledge people
If you need a great lumber yard this is the place
I called in to know if they had a product I was looking for and they transferred me 2 times and then the 3rd time they put me on hold to go look. Another employee answered and asked what I needed (the original person who answered) and I told her and then she said ok Ill send you to the right person and which was voicemail. First and last time calling there for purchases.
I bought some screw for deck over the phone the sales person told me it will be 33.3 but at the end of the day when I checked my transactions they charged me $43.19 one transaction and $143.74 another transaction never buy over the phone from this store once you put your card information they will stealing your money.
Great products and great service
Coming here to me is business as usual, I know what Im looking for and what I need when u get here
No complain, all good, CGMRCONSTRUCTION
People who attend me I have to talked to him three times, apparently he got hering problemNo a nice person.
Loved it very helpful staff
I purchased 7 pieces of 2x6x12 treated lumber at TW Perry in Chevy Chase, Maryland and requested that they by cross cut in half. The sales person charged me for seven cuts ($2.50 per cut for a total of $17.50) . The yard person cut the 7 pieces of 2x6x12 in three batches (three cuts). When I went to the office to request adjustment because I was charged for seven cuts he stated that the number of pieces define the cuts and not how many times the saw has been used. Anyway, if the sales person had told me how a cut is defined I would have not purchased the lumber at TW Perry but it is too late for me now and I hope that future TW Perry customers are aware of this practice.
