I have never had such a great experience with storage! The facility is very well kept and the manager Theresa is the reason I stored here for so long! She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful to everyone.

When the pandemic began I had no idea what I was going to do. I was refereed to storage plus where not only I safely stored my belongings but got resources for moving and apartment listing. Teresa the property manager made a difficult time in my life transition effortlessly. I location for anyone looking great service and safe storage.

The staff at white oak are very helpful and know how to please customers. I have been with self storage for a while now and Theresa and the new ladies are wonderful and kind. Keep up the great work ladies.

Look, management is really nice and responsive. But they just make too many mistakes. They increased my rent by 25% after 5 months and did so again by 20% after 9 months. The first time I didn’t even get an email about it. If you go with them, please do yourself a favor and don’t do autopay. They’ll sneak in other charges after you’ve paid your bill otherwise (see below).Now, Increasing rent is normal, but the amount was just astronomical. The kicker is they insisted they always increase after 6 months, but then couldn’t explain why they increased mine after 5 months. After a few calls and emails they brought the number down both times. But what really gets me is that after we’ve emailed and after they’ve changed the rent to the negotiated amount, they made separate, unwarranted transactions on my card so that I was still paying the total amount they originally increased the rent to! When I called them on this, they of course apologized and said it was a mistake but then they DID THE SAME THING THIS MONTH. Come on folks, we can do better than this.I’m short, if you want nice people who make a lot of mistakes (or not so nice people who will try to overcharge when you’re not looking - I’m giving the benefit of the doubt here) then go with them. But if you’d rather not be subject to random rent increases and rather not spend time on the phone trying trying to get a more reasonable increase, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Storage is fine except I moved out 3 months ago and they have not stopped billing me. I have tried emailing and calling. I gave notice and emailed that I had moved out. Once I am fully refunded Ill return 3 stars

Theresa is nothing short of Outstanding, good customer service is hard to find but never at the New Hampshire ave location. Pleasant experience.

If it wasn’t for Michael and Theresa I would go to a storage closer to my house. I would not drive far if they weren’t so helpful. They are extremely helpful to all customers and because of them I referred many people to this storage. Please call me so I can tell corporate how great they really are.

I hate going to storage units usually. The employees are usually awful and always in a bad mood but not here. Im always treated with respect and greeted with a smile 😃 The employees are always courteous and professional. Im in and out and on with my day. More employees should be like that. Great work!

My unit was kept extremely clean and my experience overall when using the storage facility was great. But I canceled my storage lease 30+ days before and they still charged me for one extra month after I vacated. I called management and the customer service number several times in 2020. No answer. I understand this may be because of Covid-19, but am frustrated that no one ever got back to me and it is one whole year later :(

I had go over to get a unit walked in spoke to The Assistant manager Ashley has a really bad attitude doesn’t know how to treat customers she show me the unit she was acting like she didn’t wanna show the unit I had Questions that she didn’t answer I had already been there a couple of weeks ago and the nice gentleman Michael was so helpful all my questions were answer and he also had a good energy about the job I’m gonna go back and get the unit once Michael or Theresa are there they both are so helpful and generous that’s the kind of service everyone should give.

For the most part the facility is accessible, clean, good lighting and the units are nice. I have seen some mouse droppings on one of my items in my unit (no food or anything edible in my unit).My biggest complaint it that they have gone up on the price several times in the past year. I know there is a pandemic but I dont see how that affects the storage unit business. Will be looking elsewhere if they go up again.

Our family chose to rent a space at Self Storage Plus in White Oak because it is close to our neighborhood. However, the smell in that place has been getting noticeably worse over time.I sent an email to the manager Theresa on December 2, 2020 about how bad the moth ball smell was when we were picking up our holiday decorations. It was so bad that when my husband and teen walked in the door with our things from storage, I could hardly stand the smell! I had to spray everything thoroughly with Febreze. She never responded to my email.I also called in early January and left a message for Theresa to call me back about the smell. She never returned my call. The last time I went into the White Oak office, I spoke directly with an employee who agreed that there is a very bad moth ball smell there. I filled out a vacate form that day to get our things out of that place.Our family started moving our things out of that nasty place right away. When we started moving out, I noticed a bug catcher on the floor in our unit and it was full of dead bugs! So, now they have an infestation problem?! We moved to a bigger and much better smelling storage unit. The best part is, our new unit costs us the same each month as the old one at Self Storage Plus!

I’m very disappointed after paying consistently. This company decided to increase my rent by 65%. I find this extremely unfair specially in this trying times. Everyone is trying to help the society but this company is doing the opposite. I don’t think I would recommend or rent again.

I would like to file a complaint in regards to staff members at the Silver Spring store. On most occasions I arrive and there is not a sign stating “be back...showing unit”. Once in a blue moon there is a sign.I have witnessed twice, the employee was physically not on the premise.The first time after waiting approximately 20 minutes, the employee drove up in their car to the premise and opened the door. Clearly, he was not on the premise showing a unit.Today, I noticed it again. I arrived to the store, sign was on door, employee returned. As I was leaving in my car, I noticed the employee placing the sign on the door, getting in their car, and driving away.My question, are employees allowed to leave the premise during store/working hours? Hence, the wait when customers arrive.Also, I’ve voiced a complaint before in regards to the store being understaffed. Especially when an employee is asked to show a unit or to leave the premises.

I stored my things with Self Storage for more than two years. I’m really impressed about how they handled my property, and treated me professionally during those two plus years.I will recommend Sell Storage Plus wholeheartedly.

This is my second time storing here they make such a stressful move extremely easy, that’s why I came back, Theresa, the manager is very professional and helpful.

Would love to give more stars because the property managers were nice. However, this storage facility is overpriced and has a rodent problem. I eventually found a cheaper alternative five minutes away for 50% less per month for the same size unit, so shop around. Had been a customer continually for several years and there were frequent rent increases and never an offer of a discount for a long term customer. On top of that, they refused to prorate my last month, even though I would have only used one week out of that month. While moving out, I found dead mice and mouse droppings everywhere. Do not make the same mistake I did. I should have moved elsewhere sooner; but, dreaded moving heavy furniture. Turns out, my wife was so disgusted with the mouse droppings and urine that she refused to let the furniture into the house and we had to give most of it away and send the rest to the dump. Tens of thousands of dollars wasted even though they had promised rodent control. If you have to use this facility, get the maximum insurance and do not stay long.

Went in today to get some information and look at the facility, the manager teressa was the most pleasant, most informative person I have ever dealt with. Just because of her awesome customer service I will be forgetting any other storage places and getting one with her. Just amazing !!!!!

I’ve been Longterm customer although there has been a change in management the staff is great and always available to help. The one concern is the decision to replace front which no longer has a payment drop box for after hours. Theresa heard multiple complaints regarding this but I understand her position. Again wonderful staff but if the Dropbox could be put up it would certainly help us avoid further payment inconveniences.

This place is very expensive every month rates goes up, too many MICE, and RATS dirty hallways, they require you buy insurance but if any damages done to you belongings they give alots of excuses, DONT GET THE INSURANCE THROUGH THEM GET YOUR OWN .the manager is nice to you until you show her all the damage the MICE HAVE DONE TO YOU BELONGINGS.

I am a satisfied customer of Self Storage USA at their huge building in White Oak (New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring.) Here is why. The facility has a wide variety of different sized units in the climate controlled interior on three floors. These range from very small up to 10’ x 20’. It has a big elevator at the front and rear entrances and big wheeled carts for customer use.It also has units on the ground floor that are not climate controlled that are accessible from the outside 24/7.The facility is secure, as each customer has a unique code to get access to the building and to the floor where his or her unit is located. There is also an intercom in the building that allows customers to call the office.The office staff are always helpful and friendly. Staff are responsive if a light bulb in a unit needs to be replaced. The office also has two very clean restrooms that are available for customers during office hours seven days per week. They also have a move-in truck that is available for customers who are renting the larger units.If you are a new customer, check their internet specials.

I rented two storage units over the years. Self Storage is supreme when it comes cleanliness. Offering a control climate which protects your belongings. The rates are competitive and fair. The staff takes a personal interest in each client; demonstrating professionalism and knowledge; and always extending warm smile. I rate Self Storage Plus 100%; a leader in the storage industry!

The facility is clean and temperatures are maintained for the best storage conditions. Mr. Hedgepeth (owner) is great! Both he & his wife are friendly and accommodating. Ive had my belongings at this location for a span of time. The service and facility has been consistent the entire time. This place is not my first pony ride.I used storage units while in the military and after and I can truthfully say this place is the best. The staff goes above and beyond to help. They made sure that every step went perfectly, even to the point of instructions on how to fill my unit most efficiently. I am extremely please with the staff, management and the unit. By the way, they even supplied the moving van. 5 Stars +.

I have been a customer of Self Storage Plus for over 15 years. The staff is always friendly, efficient and professional and the property is well-maintained. I first used Self Storage Plus while preparing a house for sale. Once I no longer needed the larger sized storage unit, I was able to downsize to a smaller space across the hall without any hassle. I just down-sized again into a more compact space and the staff were just as helpful as ever explaining sizes available to help maximize the space. It was incredibly convenient to be able to purchase boxes in the office to better pack some items and avoiding a trip offsite. Thank you Zach, Divya and Shiela!

I visited this location for inquiring about packing materials . I had a great encounter with two employees Hadj and Divya. They were very friendly upon my initial walk in . I had the opportunity to be serviced by Hadj . He was very informative about the different sizes of materials I would need based on what I would like to pack. He was very patient and understanding of my needs, His customer service skills was one I haven’t experienced in a while. I went in looking for only boxes and I left with other materials to help make my move easy .. I will definitely be visiting this location again . And recommend it to others. Thank you Hadj!!

The building and unit itself is nice. It’s also a secure building, you need a code to enter the building and to acess level 2 and 3 of the building. I’ve been storing my stuff here since 2015 at $99 and unfortunetly the rate is now going to be to $135. My same unit size, on the same floor is currently on their website for rent at $119. Also, I still find mouse droppings in my unit once in a while which is also gross. It’s still much nicer than Public Storage on Lockwood but I can’t justify the cost anymore.

One of the aisles is filling up with garbage bags and miscellaneous junk that someone is dumping there. This has been going on for a couple weeks and the it almost runs for the entire width of the building now. See for yourself- second floor, at the back. If theres any food in those bags, rats cant be far behind.

Overpriced. Cheaper alternative in the area, but the folks that run this location are just so nice that I stayed with them. Zachary is awesome.
