Prices are always way out of line compared to their peers. They charge for grocery bags in states and communities that do not require them to collect the 10 cents per bag. They are now featuring Boars Head deli meats which are all exorbitantly priced, and now have very few good quality, less expensive choices. I was a loyal customer, for a very long time, but no more. Only in a dire emergency will I shop there...sorry to say!

Always a fan of Big Y, World Class Markets! As long as you make there before “last call”, you can pick up a freshly made, scrumdiddlyumptious dinner; made fresh nightly!…it’s a New England thang 😉

Great management. They found out there was mislabeled dog treats that could cause choking. They pulled them from the shelves. Its nice to see a place that really cares about their community

We got the bottled water that was on sale today. Sad thing was no diet Snapple mango tea on shelf. No raspberry either. I dont know if its a shortage or a run on the flavors. But Ill keep trying.

Sometimes I get lost finding stuff, but thats my fault! Generally the staff is helpful enough ... even if from time to time they show their impatience with customers. I get it..

Big Y discontinuous many products many people shop for, forcing them to shop at their competitors.

This location has recently made two major changes. They have totally rearranged the shelf space with most items on entirely different rows than previously. Secondly, they have installed numerous self checkout islands and reduced the number of cashier staffed lanes.Today, the store was quite busy. Only three cashier lanes were open and only two had baggers so there was a slight backup. The self checkout islands were busy as well; with many customers needing additional help with the system.This still among my favorite grocery stores. It is clean, neat, fairly well stocked, and the staff is always pleasant and helpful.

Pretty clean place and the prepared food is great, but the prices on general groceries are 25% higher than walmart. Walmart produce is garbage compared to big y, though. I go there for quick restock and walmart for the bulk.

Always thought Big Y was one of the best grocery chains. Their stores are always organized and clean and its very easy to find what you are looking for.

Prices are higher than other stores but its the only game in town for lots of people, there is a Stop&Shop in CT but nonetheless I see many CT plates in this store. Id imagine for the hill towns there is nothing else around. As of this writing, summer 2020 they are going back to reusable bags, a bad decision during a pandemic. Anyway, they dont stock too many obscure items but have a decent selection, even before the infamous 2020 scramble, some items frequently went out of stock.

More expensive than Walmart, target and other places but its worth it most of the time.I wish they wouldnt charge for paper bags. Only because reusable bags customers use are disgusting and harbor years of bacteria growth and God knows what else.Bringing that kinda petri dish into a grocery store is risking bad things to happen.

I would like to give a shout out to Jim the meat specialist ! I had a hankering for some meatballs and he quickly came around the glass to show me the big y meatball mix ! It was delightful and so was Jim.

Great savings with the silver rewards card. The bakery is always fresh. They have an onsite butcher that will cut at the counter. U may wanna call ahead for prime rib or the larger cuts. They do stock some in the case as well so youll always find something. Most of the produce is local when in season. The staff are courteous and seem genuine. Over all, a good place to shop.

Very poor customer service. The staff who are mostly kids spend all their time socializing. I get the feeling I am an inconvenience. I tried the self check out two nights ago. I always use my phone number to look up my big y card. That is not possible at self check. I asked the staff member for help and he told me in minute snd continued his conversation with another customer who apparently just moved to the area from Vermont and is having a hard time finding childcare for his 5 year old daughter. After waiting 10 minutes and having the checkout ask me twice if I intended to complete my purchase, I just paid and left without using my card. I think it is time for some serious retraining of the staff!!

Grocery store and more! Prices are always great food is fresh and the store is always clean, stocked and pleasant. But its more than just your local grocery store. Call in and order a family pizza, grinders and more! Always fresh and tasty. Hope you have the same experience!

So, not only have their prices gone up, they now charge 10 cents a paper bag. They no longer carry plastic bags. Which is fine, for whatever their reasonings are. But I just spent over 300 dollars just on food, I think they should at least not charge for the paper bags. Losing my business isnt going to impact them a whole lot, but I will now be driving the extra time to walmart.

I enjoyed shopping at this Big Y in Southwick, Ma. Wish a nice big Big Y would be in East Windsor, CT. The one we have is adequate. It needs to new place and expand.

Love big Y

The staff used to be friendly until the covid regulations came into play. Was standing slightly over the tape while waiting in line and some little brat cashier literally disrespectfully yelled at me, loud enough so the girl at the customer service desk looked up. Will never go the this Big Y ever again. I highly recommend going to the Westfield Big Y on Main street, at least they are nice and dont yell at you.

Good local produce, a great fish department and friendly service.

This has been our favorite grocery store since moving to the area. They have great variety and friendly staff that makes grocery shopping less of a chore.

I love Big Y. It is the only grocery store I shop at. Their produce and seafood are phenomenal. The store is always clean and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

Hands down one of the cleanest Big Ys around... very well stocked and managed To produce and seafood departments are displayed very well...there are 2 other big y stores on the way to this one but weve been driving 30 minutes to this location...

Used to be pretty good, but the management has gone downhill. No express lanes with loads of people in line, and the bakery doesnt stock major items like muffins anymore. The marginal lead this place had over other local stores has evaporated.

The board needs to fire the CEO of this place and get someone who is forward thinking.-The decor looks 30 years old.-The prices are so expensive they are bordering on criminal.-Their rewards system is ridiculous, get rid of it.I dont need 100 different types of bread, cereal and whatever other junk food you are carrying. The store should only need to take up half the floor space it currently uses. Streamline and re-invent everything from the bottom up. I would only shop here if I had no other choice.

Super expensive, terrible produce, never anyromain lettuce, cellery is horible, expensive and in very little in packages IMO.SALE ITEMS IN LARGE PRINT, but the sale details you litteraly need a maginifying glass to read so you get to the counter and youre told no thats not the product on sale it was the one next to it!!To make matters worse a lot of the sale tags are 15 inches off the floor or less im guessing so you litterally need to be on your knees with a maginifier to read them, (incediently my vision is 20/20) its very deceiving IMO!!! So hows that work fo people with a handicap or in a wheelchair?I can tell you because im handicapped and it infuriates me! I dont like shopping there but its close and Ive got limited gas money and time!!On the lighter side their staff is absolutely awesome, great people!!Sorry but thats how I see it!!
