Have been meaning to stop by this Cafe ever since we booked an airbnb nearby for our trip. It lives upto the hype given in all the previous reviews. Burbeanto is simply delicious and one of the best oat milk lattes I had. The ambience is chic and the staff are handling the super busy crowd in a breeze. A memorable experience. Just that its lil tricky to find street parking during peak hours.
Nice college town cafe. I got a ham and cheese omelette which was good. I went to the coffee urns to get my coffee and it was empty. Informed an employee who said they would make more. I could see her set the machine up turning on and walk away as I started eating my omelet. When the coffee was finished which I could see behind the counter no one brought it back out. I finally went up to an employee and asked if the coffee was ready and she informed me yes it was but they hadnt had time to bother bringing it out. My omelet was pretty much done at that point which was very disappointing because I neither had coffee or anything else to drink as I ate my omelet. In my opinion it was just plain not paying attention and it was quite annoying. There were plenty of employees so that was not the problem. Probably would not return.
Food quality is very good. Service is excellent. It was 80 degrees inside the restaurant. Dont eat there in the summer unless you bring a fan . I was told there was nothing they could do about it unfortunately
The variety of food and beverage options was amazing. Meals for all 5 in our party were delicious!! We sat at an outside table. Service was fast and friendly☺
As a UConn alumni, I was very pleased with this restaurant. The food selection was great, and the atmosphere was awesome.
Good burgers and place good conversations.
Food quality varied, solid burger, sub par breakfast sandwich, and not a fan of the get your own coffee thing. Price was higher than I’d expect and wait was long, service was polite and professional however. Overall right in the middle of the road value wise
Great little place food was very good but make sure you have money in the bank its a little pricey $25 for a sandwich and a can of beer!!
Unique sandwiches, burgers, salads, fresh made to order. Super desserts. Close to UCONN campus, in downtown area. Close to the oaks.plenty of parking nearby at the rear of the neighborhood. and some street parking.
Food was much better than I expected. Pretty fast and staff was courteous. Could be cleaner inside. Table and floors were dirty
Great food (much of it locally sourced) and a patient, friendly staff. Prices are higher than other restaurants in the area, but the quality is worth the price (note that taxes are included in the listed menu prices)
Good food. Good service. Not inexpensive.
Cold brew was very good. Also just a great place to crank out some work on your laptop in the nice atmosphere.
Great place to eat. Good food and good service.
Good place to grab a panini, salad, quesadilla or coffee. Went with my family, the reuben was great as was the quesadilla, wasnt a fan of the hamburger. Place was packed but the line moved pretty quick. Easy spot for students from U Conn and family to grab something quick. Bit pricey, $50 for lunch for 3.
Great place to get a fresh meal, smoothie, or coffee. On UCONN campus.
Amazing café! staff are nice and kind, and we all enjoyed the food so much! definitely go here for a brunch!
Nice, light and airy atmosphere. Courteous staff. Great food. Perfect for lunch or breakfast.
Wow! We will be back! Great food great service. I bought two coffee mugs to take as souvenir.
Great food, beautiful ambience, and friendly staff. Loved the place!
Atmosphere is nice but food is subpar. Ordered a vegetable omelette, which came with a side of breakfast potatoes and an english muffin. The omelette was not bad, but the potatoes were cold and not well cooked. They didnt provide any butter for the muffin. Matcha latte was lukewarm at best and had a mild taste. I would describe the food as being cafeteria quality.
Spacious dining in which to enjoy your delicious coffee and breakfast selection. Gluten-free and dairy-free friendly. I personally appreciated the choice to exclude wi-fi, as it encouraged a more personal and social experience. Look forward to visiting again for breakfast, and in the future for lunch.
Enjoyed quesidia and chix chipolte wrap. Both were outstanding. Enjoyed the local brewed root beer
Awesome food. would be ***** five stars but no delivery, no seamless/GrubHub/doordash. come on!
Dog Lane Cafe is a place that my husband and I used to go very often. Recently we were unable to go there but it was very nice to check them out again. It is kind of cozy and relaxing. Perfect place for doing some works done while enjoying the food. The food is pretty decent. I like the Turkey and Bacon sandwich with a cup of soup. I tried a Mexican Hot Cocoa for the first time and I loved it.
Excellent place for a hangover breakfast after a night of revelry at my cousins wedding nearby. Coffee is fantastic!
Fantastic menu of healthy choicesGreat coffees and smoothies too
Food was A1 staff friendly and welcoming and the service was speedy no complaints
Pretty overpriced for a restaurant on campus but the food is always really good.
I love this coffee shop! People working there are super nice and the sitting is great. Lots of delicious food options and the regular coffee is delicious with many flavours. Only downside is they currently have nk WiFi!
Love the daily specials. Breakfast is always great too.
Fun place! Food was enjoyed by all.
Large airy cafe with lots of healthy options. Granted the Russian dressing on my veggie reuben was likely waist enlarging but it tasted great and PS who even dares to make veggie reubens?!
Good area and good food too!
The ginger lemonade is awesome
Nice place to hangout after work!
Great casual restaurant with great food!
Stay away from this place food is mediocre at best and very expense. Party of 4 one person ordered a bagel with butter and it never came even after asking twice. How long does a bagel take to toast
Pros: homey atmosphere, diverse variety of tasty food, good serviceCons: no wifi (what type of café doesnt have wifi?), too expensive for what you get
Best place to grab a latte in Storrs! Its always comfortable and the bottomless coffee is a good deal. I like their soups and sandwiches.
Nice and spacious coffee/brunch spot. Friendly staff and covid conscious. Their americano is also a very yummy sip. Only negative thing Id mention is that they dont have/support wifi for work but that could be to not have people stay too long (which I get, but still...).Ive been back and would go back. If youre passing through Storrs, hop on in passerbyer
Best food ever. The other day I got the Apple and caramelized grilled cheese and it was delicious. Great prices and amazing staff!
Two days ago was the first time we came to that fine restaurant. But It is definitely not the last. We had a good time with the courteous service, with the magnificent cooking and booze and with the friendly payment. We will surely visit there in a short time.
Pros: Staff is really friendly and atmosphere is nice enough.Cons: Food is pretty awful; often bland, hot food is often cold, or has been sitting on the warmer for a loooong time, or is super dry and burnt (check out the picture of the charcoal/home fries I was served). Not a good deal for the money. Portions are very small and they charge extra for everything, including soymilk (who does this anymore??).Go elsewhere (Grounded in Willimantic is awesome if you want independent and super high quality).
The food was simple but tasty. There is a wide variety of high quality food and great smoothies, too.
The best clam chowder in New England and maybe the world. The rest of the menu is great but the Clam chowder is next level.
Surprisingly good. Didnt realize they serve breakfast; my sweet potato scramble was delicious. Its a no frills restaurant on the UCONN campus with freshly made food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Will definitely be back.
We always love coming to Dog Lane Cafe when visiting our son at UConn. It is a little pricey, but there are some value items on the menu. A large, varied menu . . . delish! Had the shrimp gumbo soup today and LOVED it!
Food, beverages (hot and cold) and service was good.
Friendly service, very tasty food with good vegetarian options. Nice to be able to sit inside again, too.
Lauren wanted to try their kids hamburger with American cheese. She said was good. The best she tried so far. I only had their kids cheese quesadilla, it was good. Wishing it had more cheese but its kids version. It was too close to a real dinner going back home.
Great food with excellent vegetarian options! Friendly service too!
Friendly staff, good food
Good drinks.
Great breakfast and lunch place. A bit pricey, but food quality and preparations are excellent. Very causal, with a broad range of customers. Good location, right across from the parking garage, with 2 hours of free parking.
Way too slow. Way too pricey. But good variety... I prefer other spots in Storrs Center. After reading the other tepid reviews that somehow squeeze out 4 stars for the place, I am downgrading from 3 to 2 stars. How can it cost so freaking much? All undergrad student labor... All quite basic recipes... I dont get it...
Great food. Great Staff.
More expensive than Id like ($11-14 for a sandwich is a bit high), but always tasty. Typically PACKED, even when classes are not in session. Not the place for a quick bite as you will be waiting on line then waiting for your food, but great for leisurely casual meal.
Awesome little restaurant! Fresh, real food served with a smile. As someone with difficult to manage dietary needs (I cannot eat refined sugar... read your labels, its in just about everything) this place saves my life! Fresh food made on site, lots of organic foods and its so amazingly delicious. I wish I could eat there every day. Great place for a cup of coffee or glass of wine too. Somehow manages to maintain an intimate atmosphere despite being a busy place. Also has outdoor seating!
I really enjoyed picking up coffee here during my time at UConn. They have a good selection of tea.
We went to the Dog Lane Cafe after a concert at UConn. The staff was very nice and efficient. The food was very good. Its great to be able to get breakfast all day. I had an excellent egg sandwich with smoked bacon, avocado and cheddar cheese. I think it was called The Best Ever. Service was excellent. I highly recommend the Dog Lane Cafe!
A very nice cafe on the campus of UCONN. A little expensive but the food was terrific. It us very bright and the decor and design of the place has a modern but not over the top look. Oh, did I mention the food was great?
I work here as a line cook! Food is tasty and fresh with most things being made in house! The atmosphere is pleasant and hip...and the people are what make the whole place great! The staff is always considerate and kind while the customers are always happy and content!!
Dog Lane Cafe is a great place to visit whether you are looking to eat, or just get a drink or coffee with friends. The only reason why I decided not to give it 5 stars is because their menu is a little pricey for what you get.
Polite and fast service. Coffee was awesome and chili is very welcomed in this weather
The food is always spot on and delicious. After dozens of visits, I have never had a bad experience. Parking is a nightmare, but it is worth the visit. My personal favorite is the clam chowder.
Good food and atmosphere. Bonus points for the fish tank!
Cute little cafe. You just go up to the register to order but the food comes out relatively quick. The atmosphere is very calm and the place is kept clean.
Have never had anything bad here. Had breakfast this time as ne really enjoyed it. They accommodate gluten free individuals and have as great selection of breakfast items. My breakfast sandwich was terrific and was a great way to start the day. I would go again.
Cranberry chicken salad tasted a little sour for sure
While visiting a friend in the area we stopped here for lunch. $13 for a mediocre sandwich and a bag of chips. Seems way overpriced considering it’s located on a college campus. In addition I witnessed a customer get stung by a bee while dinning in, which then fell in his sandwich. Not one employee went over to check on him or offer ice. Not sure what the outcome was since we left right after, but he was holding a cup of water to his neck. Hope he wasn’t allergic
Awesome. Need full menu..lol🤩
Lobster bisque was very good. grilled cheese was very good. service is excellent. classes ended and the line was out the door. everyone made it move fast. these kids had a great sense of serving. polite, informative and if they walked by they ckd on you. cashier apologized for the short staffing. there is no need to..they can certainly accommodate the crowds!
Very creative menu but things here in my opinion are slightly over priced tbh, but then again the food is REALLY good! I like the beer selection they have here, I was actually surprised how nice it was in this cafe but its definitely a great place for a get together, for some brunch or a little date (:Absolutely worth checking out, you wont be disappointed
Great atmosphere, very friendly staff, good food.
Nice selection of burgers and sandwiches, as well as vegetarian options. Also serve breakfast sandwiches all day. Place is usually pretty crowded, so it can be tough to find a table. Overall, a pleasant atmosphere.
Friendly and nice atmosphere. Coffee and various espresso drinks, baked goods, breakfast, sandwiches, burgers and salads. Beer and wine. You order at counter and food items then brought to you when ready. Somewhat pricey (sandwiches run around 10 to 12 dollars) but food we had was good (sandwiches and a burger).
Great atmosphere and delicious food. A little expensive but once I got my food I didnt mind. There are two parking lots just a short block away. Overall it was a great experience.
One of the best eateries in this area. Fresh food and always pleasant service. My go to place for taking friends to lunch.
A go-to place to eat when my familys in town. A bit pricey, but the food is great and the surface is nice. Outdoor seating available, for those that want it.
In the past, the gumbo has been absolutely delicious -- it is *the* reason I go to the Dog Lane Cafe. Yesterdays gumbo was horrible and inedible. It tasted like it was burned and its consistency was sludge-like. After two bites, I had to return it for a refund.
Beef or vegetable chilis are both excellent... Everything weve had is first rate. A soothing and vibrant place to spend time.
A little pricey but I like the ambience and the food. The people working here are a delight, and I love to stop here for a coffee every other day with friends.
Ive been here twice, and enjoyed it both times. Probably not as big of a fan as my friend Lauren is, but then again I dont know if anybody likes Dog Lane Cafe as much as my friend Lauren does.
First time here there were a couple of bees flying around. I got stung in the neck while eating my meal and was in much pain and aggravation. The sympathy and assistance of the staff did not seem wholesome. Only one member checked up on me and it seemed like it was only because there were a number of people watching. Because the bee ended up falling into my sandwich they had it remade, but really I would have more appreciated a refund and a bag of ice.In addition, their sandwiches come with a bag of chips rather than fries. And for their high prices a bag of chips as a side feels like a rip off to me. Will not be returning.
I love 🐕 Lane. They do a wicked good crab cake salad. They understand vegetables in an above par way. It feels like home, especially during the summer. And their staff is superb -- smart, aware, kind.
