Our favorite breakfast spot. Over the top breakfast and lunch spot. Always in for a creamy cold delicious large milkshake or a mountain of pancakes. Check out their social media feed for regularly updated specials and new items. They have something to eat every taste. Come here hungry and go home happy.
It was such a fun experience. Called early this morning to be placed on a wait list. Had to wait 15 minutes after checking in but it was so worth it!! The atmosphere was just amazing. Our waitress was great and on everything! Even bought myself a sweatshirt! Totally worth the $40 when you are supporting a buisness!
Yummmyy, drove from Rochester to check this place out . Heard about getting on the waitlist but didn’t know if we would miss out on the drive. There was a 90 minute wait once we checked in but that was no problem since we explored elsewhere and came back. The burger was amazing along with the Bloody Mary. The breakfast pirogies are a great way to start brunch . Many wild drink options it’s hard to choose!
Best breakfast Ive had in a very long time, maybe ever! We had the cereal milk latte (cinnamon toast crunch!!), pancake trip, and breakfast pierogi. Everything was absolutely delicious. Called at 7 AM for a 845 reservation and got through on the first call. No wait when we arrived. Everything was perfect! Highly recommend
Absolutely Amazing! Atmosphere was great and staff was helpful and amazing! But most importantly the food... Oh My Goodness, absolutely phenomenal. From their selection of drinks to their selections of food you will not be disappointed. First time going, and without hesitation next time I am back in town, Ill be going again. Definitely call ahead as it gets busy quickly and bring an empty stomach.
Be prepared to wait, even this you call and are put on a wait list, once you arrive it’s still a bit of a wait. The honeynut latte was delicious! We did a flight of coffees as well. I did the flight of pancakes and have to say that was a sugar coma. They were fluffy and delicious! You have to try their milkshakes at least once!
Nice breakfast spot. First time here. Food was soooo goood, we ordered: Tin can breakfast perogies, waffles and our super mimosa (sunrise) 😋 The service is fast and friendly, our server Kelsey amazing!! atmosphere was nice with music. Cant wait to come back the next year to try more of the delicious food.
First time going. Used the call ahead seating option and started calling right at 7am, took about 10 minutes to get through, not bad at all. I was able to get a table for 815. Seated right away, everything was great. Hot, fresh, as good as advertised! The pictures you see on social media is what you are really getting in person!
Nice little brunch spot. We ate outside on the patio because they said all the tables inside were full. We each got our own breakfasts and decided to split a pancake flight — the cinnamon roll pancakes were our favorite. The omelet I had was good. We honestly had more food than we could eat. Service was quick and friendly.
Saturday morning and it was, as you can well imagine, packed but we were seated quickly. My boyfriend and I ordered the Pancake Flight, featuring 3 stacks of your choice. I opted for the Reeses Peanut Butter Cup, the Salted Caramel Banana Nut, and the Smores. Justin ordered the Salted Caramel Banana Nut, the Cinnamon Swirl, and Smores. So damn decadent and do damn good! Craig ordered the Eggs and House Made Hash. Their menu is extensive and inventive, with EVERYTHING looking mouthwatering! The staff was very friendly and the prices reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food. I heartily recommend Rise N Shine!
A must do, over and over again. Subbed the Nashville chicken in the Hot and Honey Chicken and Waffles and loved the sweet/spicy blend. Girlfriend had the Dirty Taylor and wouldnt share it was so good. Saucy Cider had a great balance. Truly appreciate Marks menu knowledge and will be regulars for sure!
Lots of good food, big menu selection, cool drink menu as well. trust me, you will want to call ahead and try to get seating arranged before you get there, because it could be hours if you just walk in.The restaurant is a bit compact, but the staff is super fast and friendly and the overall experience was quite good. lots of really cool meal selections even though I got something a bit boring by comparison. This place is definitely high on the list for locals and I can understand why. I would definitely go back again.
We were sat at the bar and the BARtender was EXTREMELY rude and non attendant to us. She ignored us pretty much our whole visit, we had a few questions and she was extremely aggravated to answer our questions. Ordered French toast but I was served French toast sticks from the kids menu. First time here and WILL NEVER come back. We’re online food reviewers and I’m sure she didn’t realize this. Tsk tsk
Have you ever wondered if breakfast could be as fun and exciting as dinner? Well they pulled it off and got a 10/10. Each menu item was executed perfectly and while we didn’t get boozy breakfast drinks, just the fact that we could get them was enough. We got the French Press, the Tin Can Pierogi, The Crepe Carnitas, and the Hot Honey Chicken and Waffles.Oh and the drink? It’s a Fruity Pebble Cereal Milk Latte.
Great place!! Lots of variety although we had a bit of a time navigating the virtual menu. Great service 😉👍. My Vegan Scramble was delicious 😋. Plentiful too. I was more than satisfied and brought home as much as I ate. I would go without the vegan cheese next time. Everyone at the table was pleased with a wide variety of choices from pancakes to Burger 🍔 to Carnitas and Birthday party milkshakes (sans alcohol of course) for 2 little ladies on their merry un-birthdaysNot enough off street parking and the music is twice as loud as needed.
This place NEVER disappoints. Has crazy good food, terrific coffee, and the nicest staff. I do like the omlettes, but waffles/French toast items are equally delicious. They have GF items, too. The loaded hot chocolate is way too sweet for me. The atmosphere is great (tho, I miss the unique styling of the old place in Thompson). Stop here & grab a bite. Lots to choose from. Id be shocked if you didnt like it.
This was our first experience with Rise N Shine, and it’s from this position that we write this review. We were graciously greeted by the host, and shown to a spot at the bar, no wait. The service at the bar was extraordinary. Every bartender had a smile on their faces, their work was stellar and meticulous, while giving us an A+ experience. The food was incredible, the drinks were out of this world, and the overall atmosphere was top notch. We will forever be Rise N Shine fans. If for some reason you’re coming in with a big party, I’d call ahead right when they open. They fill up fast and the wait can be long. No worries though, it’s definitely worth the wait.
This place is well worth the wait that is usual during the school year for SU. The menu is full of very tasty food options with a wide variety of breakfast options. Some really fun twists to traditional breakfast food. The staff is always very friendly and full of energy. Very attentive staff even during peak busy times. Well done!!!
The selection is incredible, and the food itself is top tier. Not as pricy as youd expect for the portions you receive, and with a lot of unique menu items Ive never seen anywhere else.Gets incredibly busy around lunch, plan for a wait or call ahead and theyll text you when youre up (but you have to be there within 5 minutes of the text)
Hard to get into Rise N Shine but worth the wait!Service was friendly and quick, atmosphere was nice with music in the background.I had the French Press with the Egg Meat and Cheese Sammich. The chocolate on the French press tasted like it was homemade. It was deep fried and wasnt too sweet but a lot of food on the plate. One of the best french toast style breakfast foods Ive ever had. The Sammich was really good with swiss cheese and sausage links on a toasted bun. Had a melon mojito to drink which was refreshing. This is a must try if youre in the area!
So basic white girl it almost hurts. However.... the food and drinks are worth it.
Such an Instagrammy place! The service was great too! I took one star off because the wait list takes a bit of patience and its a bit pricey. Also the French fried were a bit unsalted. But overall, great experience!
Absolutely Stop In For A Bite!! If You Want Food Thats Gorgeous To Look At.. And Equally Delicious... This Is Your Place!Friendly Service.. And A Peaceful Environment.. I Definitely Recommend!🖤
Absolutely amazing food and service. Waitress was super friendly and helpful. Shrimp and grits were very flavorful. Pancake flights were very fun. Drinks were well balanced and delicious. Call ahead because theres going to be a wait.
Well finding a place to park while being an above knee amputee sucked. Place is small, food great. Service As well great. Just need better ADA compliant.
The atmosphere is fun! The food is good. The shakes are amazing. We went on a Friday afternoon and had no wait. They also have an outdoor seating option. You should definitely try Rise N Shine!
Good food and great menu. We were outside which was nice. They have all the tables covered with an umbrella and big netting. Mostly for bees.
I placed an online order which wasn’t that complicated. I understand that sometimes in-person orders take priority especially when places like this are busy, but I waited a full hour before going to pick up. When I got there, I was informed that they hadn’t even started making my food yet. I had to wait an extra 30 mins, and the servers seemed less than apologetic. I can’t say anything about In-person dine in experience here, but I would not recommend ordering online unless you’re cool with eating it a few hours after you order.
So, so, so good. The food is amazing and the decor is fun and cool. I had the poached eggs with fried green tomatoes and he had the eggs and real hash and they were both perfect. Parking is tight but available. Service was great. Bathroom could be a little cleaner but wasn’t bad enough to take a star away.
This is a next level breakfast! Worth the wait. Best I’ve had in a long time!
I have tried going here 3 different times - different days and times. All three times I’ve been told there is a 2+ hour wait. One time they told me 6 hour wait lol. Not sure what the deal is but it’s not worth my time to drive here again.
Everyone loved their brunch! Delicious food, chic atmosphere, friendly server, amazingly fun adult beverages! Book ahead as this place is busy and its no wonder why when its so darn good!
Best breakfast spot in Syracuse! Tasty food and fun drinks, like the milkshakes and hot chocolate. As a vegan there were plenty of options even milkshakes!! There is also a heated bus outside that is great for waiting when its cold outside. Just be sure to not come too hungry because the wait is usually over an hour!
Drinks, eggs, bacon and coffee were all wonderful. My only complaint was how long it took for our food to come out, over an hour in our case. I would still go back, but might avoid the pancakes. If you get a stack of the special pancakes only the top one is the flavor you order and underneath are just plane pancakes.
Breakfast food lovers definitely need to go here. Wear stretchy pants, serving size leaves enough for tomorrow. Pancakes were awesome by themselves but the toppings.... awesome!
This place has horrible hospitality services I’ve ever seen, been there three times in the last few months and have been turned down to be seated and eat at the restaurant, when I went today to eat breakfast I was told there are no more seats but when I looked over there were two open tables and when I asked why I can’t sit there they proceeded to say that they are short staff and try to call ahead next time. Sadly this is not a family friendly place where you can just show up and be seated, also your presented with the feeling that they pick and choose who they will serve. I visited location westscott at 11am sun8/15.
The atmosphere and vibe if this place was phonominal. The food was great and consistent with the pictures online.I would encourage all to call ahead due to long waits.Found my new spot!
This place is a gem! Stopped for brunch with a friend and so pleasantly surprised at how amazing the decor, drinks, food, and staff are. Everything we had was delicious from the creative drinks to filling, savory dishes. The tunes here really make the mood, be ready to want to sing or dance at your table. The friendly and wonderful service of the staff was fantastic. Highly recommend to locals and visitors as one of the best brunch spots I’ve been to across New York from Buffalo to the city. Do yourself a favor and check it out! 🥰
If you want a spectacular breakfast with eclectic options this is your spot. Dont expect bargain diner prices because this is far better than your run of the mill diner. We love this place!!!
I noticed how clean it was. The waiter was friendly and quick. She listed a few items. I went for hash (made on site)and eggs done the way I asked for.
It was my first time there and I really enjoyed my food. The portions are huge. I will definitely go again.
We called at 10am to come in at 1130. Was told that we couldn’t come until 1pm. We came at 1pm and had to wait an additional half hour. We finally was able to be seated, our waitress was all over the place. She barely checked on us. I wish I remembered her name but she didn’t even introduce herself. We waited an additional hour for our food. That wasn’t great. Overall horrible service, STAY AWAY. Definitely not worth the hype.
Trendy spot, good location. Super creative with food presentation as well! Only reason this is 4 stars is because it takes a bit for someone to greet you when you first walk in. It’s like do I wait here? Do I go find someone and let them know I’m here? Not sure. However, the service, food, and drinks make up for it. Would definitely come back again!
Great menu, food was decent but needed more flavor. The music is very loud. Good service but waited a little long for our food.
Same as this review basically: Went here once before. Wait was unbelievable but food was worth it. On Saturday I called to make a reservation for today, Sunday. The hostess told me that you can only call the day of. Okay, no problem. Got up at 7 on the dot to call ahead, couldn’t get through to anyone for a straight 40 minutes. Finally, at 8:04, it starts to ring. Guy tells me that they are booked for the day. I told him that I tried to call for like 40 minutes (maybe I should have done something differently?) and he was polite enough and apologized and proceeded to explain why and that it wasn’t the best system but that they would try and get me in next time. I don’t blame him personally, nor is this review aimed at him at all. But whoever owns or manages this diner should get it together with their call ahead system, it’s completely frustrating when you live 45 minutes away and can’t pop in to make a reservation easily.
I loved them more when they were a hidden gem. Now its hard to get a seat and I often opt to go elsewhere because of the wait to get in. Too much of a hassle.
I dont write bad reviews, but this place is so exceptional it deserved to be recognized. When an establishment makes customers wait to get in like its a sold out concert and the makes you wait almost an hour for food (not exaggerating 50 mins) thats just insulting. Please have more respect for your customers.Unlike many of the reviews the food isnt that good. No thank you for Non-cash Translation Fee and no thank you to 18 percent auto gratuity. You lost my business and I will be quick to tell anyone I know not to go there. If overpriced and underwhelming is what you strive for this is the place to be.
Get your taste buds ready for an incredible experience! A modern yet cozy place with over the top choices for food and drink that will only make you want to return. Not only are the dishes amazing but the staff was absolutely wonderful. Ask for Kelsey if its not too busy, she was extremely kind and attentive. Will definitely be back to try something new!
Great service (so attentive and had great recommendations) and amazing food! Cant wait to come back to try more of the deliciously delicious food.
Our team had an amazing experience at Rise N Shine. The menu had so many different foods to choose from. It took a while to get seated, but that was because we were a party of 10 people. The table was a little cramped and there was no room to fit another plate on it! I ordered the waffle, it was amazing! We will be back here again soon!
NOT WORTH THE WAIT! THE WORST FOOD! We’ve gone here several times BEFORE 9am and have been turned away while half the restaurant was open because of reservations for people NOT there. HOWEVER WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I CALL AHEAD THEY SAY THEY DONT TAKE RESERVATIONS SO IM VERY CONFUSED!!! I would never recommend this place to anyone it’s such a hassle and no one can give you a straight answer. I suggest skipping the drama and going to Modern malt or Stella’s diner they are A LOT better and the food/staff is very sweet.
This is one of my go to places for brunch. The service is always friendly and the menu is interesting and tasty. I haven’t had a disappointing visit ever! It is hard to get a table if you walk in (even during normal times) so make sure you call ahead as soon as they open!
Amazing breakfast food. Wait was a little longer than originally communicated but food made up for it. Great atmosphere!
Always makes my Saturdays special, great service, quick and courteous. Food, amazing.
Was here for breakfast today and it was absolutely outstanding. Totally delicious Veggie Omelette, amazing home fries and multi grain toast. Every one of the staff were welcoming and very friendly. Its a tad bit on the expensive side but if they can maintain their pace on food and service, this restaurant cant help but succeed. Bravo!
The worst stay service ever that Ive encountered on a Thursday. The kitchen stay is way to slow,All the staff around trying to help were very over worked and overwhelmed and my oder came out 20 mins late,Ill never go back there again.

Great food, plant based/vegan options very friendly staff I highly recommend.
FANTASTIC SERVICE. The best place for breakfast/brunch. Worth the price!
Food was fantastic. Unique and delicious drinks and food. Next time would call ahead and make a reservation though.
I love their unique take on breakfast entrees. The food is always good, the service is fast and friendly. Its a great place to eat.
It was a good place to dine. We went there soon as we got into Syracuse New York. Food was good, waitresses were amazing and the music selection wascthe bomb.
Loved the interior setup, waitresses were so polite & friendly, food was perfect! Great brunch place in syracuse.
