Love this place and every time I come in I am greeted. Scott was my instructor and taught me everything I needed to know about my gun as a new gun owner! I came back last weekend to practice and met Chris (hope I’m spelling his name right), and he was awesome! Extremely patient and very kind, and he even got me insurance for my gun, I learned things that no one ever told me about guns, thanks to Chris. I’ve been to other gun shops and was never treated in such a manner as Top Gun in Taylor, MI. I am a single young woman living alone, and the staff at Top Gun made me feel confident in carrying. There’s also women that work in there, there’s young women, older women, and women of color, which makes me feel EVEN more safe. The environment of this place is one of a kind. Thank you members of Top Gun for everything you do.

I knew about Top Gun for some time before visiting. Once they started advertising on WMUZ I decided to make a trip. I signed up to take the CPL course with Anna. She is a great instructor. Happy they bring in guest speakers to add another perspective. I drove an hour from the Ann Arbor area and wouldnt think twice of recommending your services in the future.

Heard very good things about this facility, really wanted to buy a membership at the recommendation of a buddy of mine. Called up and asked if it were possible to rent a gun/ lane by myself just to get a feel for it as my friend and I have very conflicting schedules and I couldn’t meet the 2 person minimum. Gentleman I spoke to on the phone told me that they often let people rent alone due to similar circumstances, especially as I was planning on getting a membership. I drove about an hour to get here and informed the women at the counter that I would like to rent a gun and such. My request wasn’t humored and when I referred to the phone call I had with their associate I was a pretty quick and blunt no. Disappointing experience will not be returning staff seems to have conflicting information they tell their customers just to waste their time. Only wish I was given an honest answer from the beginning as now I made an essential 2 hour trip for nothing.

They have the best range facilities by far out of all the places within 10 miles. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, +1 for having a SilencerShop kiosk, makes the process of buying a suppressor extremely easy. Usually has the best prices, ammo prices suck everywhere right now though, so all in all this place is my go to, buy the membership, even if you only come every other weekend it pays for itself, plus you get discounts & unlimited range time. Yes you need a valid ID, no you can’t buy a gun for someone else, hopefully a lot of people read this and save them a lot of dumb questions

Facilities are nice and clean. Unfortunately, its hit or miss regarding the staff. Most are very friendly and helpful, but more often then not, when I go in, some of the staff have an attitude like you are disturbing them or that they are doing you a favor by assisting you. Similar to the attitude that some local police officers have.....that Stormtrooper, leave me alone, you are beneath me, attitude.

I have been to Top Gun numerous times to shoot, but I finally decided to take a class & I could not be any more pleased! Anna is an absolutely amazing instructor, incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, engaging, and fun. The entire staff is always friendly, plus the whole facility is clean & organized. They will teach you everything youre supposed to know, on top of their experiences over the years. I have never heard of a better firearms class or range experience, definitely recommend!

Went there specifically to look at a couple SKSs they listed this morning. They still have them but theyre gunsmith has the key to the safe supposedly. Then Jon tells me to come back in the morning at 10:00 a.m. but yet the gunsmith wont be in till noon so what would be the point of coming in at 10:00 a.m. if once again they cant access the safe. And of course he caught an attitude when I inquired as to how that makes sense telling me to come in in the a.m. when the gunsmith wont be until noon. Used to like this location but I think Ill take my money elsewhere after I get these skss

Staff was great. I went in to get a glock 19x and the staff was great helping me with finding the gun and all the accessories I needed. Specifically Joe helped me and he was very helpful and professional.

It was my first visit to practice shooting.Staff is friendly and I had fun with one of my friend.I was scared because the gun was so loud.I shouldve read the caution notice at the door it said that eye and ear protection should be worn.I was embarrassed hot to load bullets.I wish there was a security or instructor in the range for beginners.

I’m not the type to down someone’s business but I was actually a little upset with customer service I walked in to look around and see if they have triggers for my ar build yes I did end up buying one but the way the cashier acted was weird as if he did not have the time to answer my questions or show me more fire arms that I would have loved to purchase its as if he wanted me out I don’t think I will ever walk in to this establishment ever again best of luck but u have lost a customer

Seems like a great place to go shoot. I just purchased my first AR here and I get some free range time! And they had a great selection of firearms. The staff seemed pretty nice. My only question is what’s the length of your rifle range? I wanna zero in my red dot!

I purchased my first gun here along with some ammo, and spent all of it there over the course of 3 days. The range is so nice! Unfortunately there is an ammo shortage, so I wont be able to visit until that gets sorted out. Dont walk in expecting to just buy ammo! Theyll only sell you ammo with a gun purchase, due to the shortage.

Ive been going to Top Gun every weekend with my wife and sometimes our daughter for the last several months. Its always a very fun time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We love talking to Barb on Sundays! I took the CPL class from Keith Graham and he was an amazing instructor. The class was very informative and I appreciate the time he took explaining everything based on his personal experiences. I’ve been considering the purchase of a firearm but I needed more knowledge to go any further. I took the Basic Handgun class as a private lesson with James and highly recommend it for anyone beginning this journey. Training started in the class room with safety rules and philosophies followed by gun operation and handling, including a safe and proper grip. James brought multiple samples in to see what seemed to fit me and my needs before going out to the firing range to practice what I learned. When I left 2 hours later, I was much more confident, and knew what to look for in a handgun for my needs. For me, the time was well spent and I’m glad that I chose a private lesson for the one on one attention it provided.

Hands down one of the best ranges in the state. Some people write a review and say the people were rude or something, the people writing those reviews are the rude ones. Knowledgeable, friendly staff who strive to make a safe and enjoyable experience.

I visited the store twice this week to look at guns. On my first visit, Mark showed me several handguns. He was very nice, knowledgeable and patient, which was important to me because Im a newbie. He didnt pressure me to purchase anything, which I really appreciated. I left to think about the options that I had seen and I returned 3 days later.Upon my return yesterday, I was greeted immediately upon entering and after a very brief wait, Dale offered to help me. Dale showed me several handguns and I made a decision about which one I wanted. As I began to fill out my background check information, Dale was notified of some paperwork that he needed to do, so he introduced me to Chris who took over assisting me. Chris was extremely nice and he took the time to answer every single one of my questions. He went over EVERYTHING that I needed to know about my new gun in detail. My daddy called to check on me while I was buying my gun and he reminded me to buy a holster. Chris asked me what type of holster I wanted. I wasnt sure, so he described several different types and when I told him my preference, he got one for me and even allowed me to sit in a chair with my gun and holster on to make sure I was comfortable. Chris was very patient with me, which I appreciated because this was my first gun purchase. I spotted a pink handled gun that I liked before we finished and Chris showed it to me, taught me about it and now I already know that will be my next gun purchase!I also got to meet Errol (I hope I am spelling his name right), who is the owner. He was also very nice and I got to tell him what a positive experience I had both times I visited the store. Oh, I forgot to mention that their phone service is awesome too because I called several times before I even came in to shop and I received excellent service on the phone also!One last thing, I told Chris that I was interested in classes and he told me that the class I wanted was full, but he informed me that private instruction was available (which I actually prefer). Chris personally walked me over to the range side of the store after I purchased my gun. He introduced me to an instructor named Anna and she was very nice. She immediately got me scheduled for one on one instruction, which is just what I wanted because this is my first gun.I know this review is long, but excellent customer service deserves a long review!! Very friendly to new gun owners. Best place hands down they never have a problem answering questions and there range is amazing 👏.

I pass up about a dozen ranges to shoot here. Top Gun allows me to fire controlled pairs which always seem to fall under the taboo class rapid fire at other ranges. As the controlled pair is a cornerstone of defensive drills, that takes most ranges in the area right off the table for practical training. Secondly, Ive observed some heinous firearms handling skills in some of the Detroit area ranges and that seems to be minimal here. Makes it easier to focus knowing youre less likely to get shot through the partition by some knucklehead in the next lane over practicing something they saw in a (bad) movie. Lastly, good prices on range time and ammo.

Nice range with a lot of lanes available. Will definitely be coming back. 🙂

Great experience with top gun.The store was pretty busy but it didnt take long to find help at all.Being a first time buyer I was a little nervous but my sale associate joe answered all my questions and made the process very streamlined.Lastly the gun I was looking for was sold out everywhere or price gouged to 200-300 above msrp however top gun had it in stock 200 BELOW msrp!! This location hosted a Womens training event. My Granddaughter & Myself attended. My Granddaughter did Very well & wants to go back. They have a womens day, with discounts, once a week. They have other specials for everyone, look up their calender.

I have found my indoor range home.Matt... you were awesome. I am a first time firearm buyer, and your recommendations and attitude made the trip worth it. I love the feel of the CZ P-10s. Matt didnt look down on me for now knowing ANYTHING outside of my classroom knowledge.The range staff... equally good and helpful.

Looks like a nice clean place inside and out. Huge selection of aftermarket parts. Alot of employees available, the only issue I had was that none of them seemed eager to help. They seemed more intent on talking to each other than helping customers.I was planning on buying a firearm today but looks like Ill take my money elsewhere.

I have been to many firearms stores but never had the level of expert help or generosity that I received from top gun. Both Mikes are my main people to deal with but everyone is amazing here. They treat people very kindly with respect that you would not get at most stores of this kind from my experience. I started coming here just over 5 years now and will say, I refuse to go anywhere else. Even tho its about a 45 minute drive away from me. I will most definitely keep coming back here for range, accessories and other purchases (even tho Mike talks me in to buying 2 of everything, lol). My most respect to these associates and a thanks to everyone here for everything. I doubt I can be happier or comfortable going anywhere else. Most gun stores have a very bad attitude because they are a firearms dealer that are also carrying but NOT top gun associates. They have the best attitude and respect for every individual that walks in thru their doors. Thanks again to everyone there

Stood in line 1/2 hour, must have been 8 guys behind the counter and only 2 of them were doing gun sales the rest just standing around.. when I was finally up to the counter I gave all the info on the specific hand gun I was interested in buying, the young man said right away we cant get that this type of treatment is so typical of people who dont care to help just move you along like cattle...there is no pride, no concern or cares.....I will never go back to that store ever, the small mom and pop stores are being pushed out by these flash in the pan stores...I ll take my business up north michigan where real gun store owners take the time to help and satisfy a customer...

I can’t say enough good things about the beautiful facility and professionalism of the staff. The folks at the gun sales counter are very friendly and super knowledgeable. There are plenty of staff at the counter and I have always been waited on quickly. I regularly bring friends and family to target practice at Top Gun’s indoor range. The range associates that I have met are also really nice people. The range visits have always been fun and memorable. They get my highest recommendation and we are really fortunate to have this business in our community.

The salesman at Top Gun was more than willing to sell me a handgun but never mentioned the fact that NO MATTER WHERE I searched,No matter how hard I have tried...I wouldn’t be able to find ammunition for it ANYWHERE!I now own a $500.00 weapon that is no more of a defense weapon than a hammer!NEVER AGAIN!THANKS FOR TAKING MY MONEY GUYS!!!

Single best shooting sports facility Ive been to. Friendly and knowledgeable staff combined with an extremely well-stocked inventory. I recently took the AR-15 breakdown class from Matt, and it was an outstanding experience. He was extremely thorough, engaging, interesting and entertaining. I highly recommend instruction by Matt when it comes to the AR-15, for sure.

I hired James for a one on one training lesson and I simply couldnt believe how much better my shot pattern got. By far the best $65.00 Ive ever spent. I would recommend him for any level you are at if you want to improve your target pattern. Hats off to James!

A little too flashy and commercialized but they do have alot to offer. Staff is nice, range prices arent too bad. Shop around before purchasing anything though. Ive found better deals at other local stores.EDIT: After COVID19, this place has turned into a mess. Unfriendly, mask-wearing bouncers at the door. Closing time is actually an hour before their new posted closing time, even though you can buy range time in half-hour increments... good luck figuring that out. And lines that wrap around the building. Dont waste your time, find another range that makes it an enjoyable experience to shoot, instead of a chore.

Great store and range with top-notch staff. If you are a first time buyer or a long-time shooter, its a phenomenal place with a great selection and staff who are friendly, happy to be there, and very patient. Never gotten that used car salesman vibe from anyone there and I have seen them talk people down from bigger purchases to something less expensive because they believed it met the customers described needs and desires more.That, to me, is the benchmark of true professionalism and customer service.Lots of other veterans working the counters makes me glad to give my money to a business that employees our brothers and sisters in arms. I cannot recommend this store highly enough whether youre looking to buy, need an FFL, need some training, have some questions, or want get some range time.

Me and my wife went in to browse for potential guns last Saturday and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable in giving their suggestions upon which guns would be best suited for us and our intentions for the guns, they also recommended us to stop in Monday for ladies night to use the range and try different guns in which we did again monday night the staff was very friendly and helpful explaining how to use each of the guns we picked. We returned today to purchase the gun I had in mind and the place was packed, staff was helpful and friendly with all, not pushy to sell a gun, took the time with me explained everything, hats off to the gentlemen who took care of me his name is mark, he explained everything about the gun, how the paperwork goes.I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is thinking about getting a gun. I absolutely LOVE this place. Went in with my friend who purchased a gun. Bill helped us, he was very knowledgeable and gave me pointers on how to handle the gun. I want to purchase one but needed more experience. He suggested we come back the next day for ladies day. I asked him if he could be there to train me since I felt comfortable with him. So we went the next day with 5 nervous ladies with little to no experience with guns. I must say BILL IS AWESOME. He took his time with us individually walking through each step. I feel like a pro already.....and get this...it was his day off and he spent it helping us. We really appreciate all his help..really made it a great experience. Hats off to you Top Gun for exceptional service. I will definantly be recommending this place.

I called to see if they had the firearm that I am ready to purchase. The guy was rude. He said he had a certain model of that gun. I asked one question about a feature on that model and this guy without answering me just hangs up. I don’t need to spend my money over there no matter how hard it is to get my hands on that particular gun.

Picked up a p320 beginning of the year, even if they where unable to find the one o really wanted (.45) due to availability, they did get ma a great deal on the 9mm model and I could be happier, cant wait for ammo availability to return so I can go back to their fantastic range!

Ive had two experiences here before and they seemed like different establishments. Last year I used the services of their range and everything was excellent. Good facility, helpful employee, and renting their mp5 was a fantastic experience.I was in here this week to make a final decision on purchasing a firearm. Their selection on my needs was above average, and one employee was helpful and not pushy. But the very unfortunate customer who had arrived before me got to listen to a half-hour sales pitch about a third party service from another employee. The usual high pressure, limited time offer nonsense. After overhearing the prattle while I browsed and contemplated, I decided I didnt want to deal with that. I took my business to another store in the area and got what I wanted without the hassle of a sales pitch.

My experience at top gun and big rock.Great place to learn and to buy with plenty of friendly people to guide you. I was more into the archery side of things till I hit 18 and decided to get my first gun. I went up and talked to Dale about getting a Palmetto pa15 but they didnt have it. He instead pointed me towards an m&p sport 2 and walked me through everything as well as answer my questions I had. He spent time to talk to me and was very friendly!So I have a great place to go spend some more money and Im happy to do it to support these wonderful men and women of which I used to work with!So hey, if you wanna go to a friendly range where you can learn and be safe but have a lot of fun, Top gun is the place for you

Shoot here often and have taken several classes and always a good time. Great classes for the money for sure. Can’t be beat. Only thing I’d like to see changed is a number system for the gun counter. When it’s busy it can be a cluster Ef trying to figure out who’s next and so on.

Just purchased an saints edge AR 15 and the weapon is hands down amazing. I probably shouldn’t have bought it but am very happy i did. Customer service was very nice. And helpful with me picking out the right AR 15 for me. I’m done with buying weapons for awhile but if I were to buy one again I’d go back here.

I purchased a gun from there a few days ago as a first time buyer and it took about 2 hours the line was too long and most of the staff was sitting down and the prices were very high I was told that my gun was powerful and strong and all of this good stuff about it and when I fired it I was very disappointed with it not only that they Did not show me all of the guns in my price range and after my purchase they showed me one of the guns I asked for in my price range and there were no Returns so yes I was pretty frustrated I would not recommend this place

I have been to many gun ranges throughout southeast Michigan, over the last 20 or so years. In fact I have a few right around where I live. However when you go in there it’s like they are doing you a favor. Always have a bad attitude when you ask them a question. Excuse me, I’m the customer. Why are you even open if you are going to act like I’m a bother.But Not a Top Gun. Their staff is very friendly, very helpfully and knowledgeable about guns, ammo and training. I drive the extra 30 minutes just so my son and I, can go to a clean, friendly and most of all safe environment like Top Gun. These guys have friendly helpful customer services, the best venting system, and by far the most product you will find anywhere. Five Stars for Top Gun. Great job guys, keep up the good work.

Had a great CCW class on June 17th . All bases covered from safety, legal, to holsters . I left feeling super confident and cannot thank top gun and KEITH G enough for offering and teaching such a informative in depth class

Go spend your hard earned dollars somewhere else. This guys had me stand around for nothing there are more employees then customers and not once had any of them ask me if i needed help after 30 minutes of waiting.

Staff is so friendly and helpful, this place is always well stocked. The range is clean and a great place to practice.

Probably the best example of what a modern gun shop/range should be. The owners should consider turning this into a franchise. The facility is clean, modern, and fully staffed. Rapid fire is allowed and there are very few restrictions. Sales representatives are plentiful and you will be waited on in a timely fashion. Its a great place for people that are just getting into owning a firearm. Gun hobbyist like me are very picky! I like a knowledgeable staff that enjoys selling guns and not pushing agendas.

Was having some problems my sales guy Jeff kept spacing out giving me the 1,000 mile stare and mumbling about how he was retired he didn’t like working there on mondays or tuesdays, lucky Randy swooped in and was able to fix the problem and get everything squared away Randy is the man, he actually cares about what’s going on there and has a good way with people, my girlfriend had him as a sales man for her first gun ever whileback and had nothing but great things to say to about him he made her experience a memorable one and not intimidating even though she was very nervous.

These guys were super helpful and knowledgeable with the scope issues I was having. They took the time to diagnose the problem on the spot with me while the gunsmith was out of the country. I will definitely be sending all my business their way from now on.

Not sure who the guy was working behind the counter but my brother and I both had horrible experiences at Top Gun. Rude and arrogant person. So bad that my brother, a retired Veteran, had to leave the concealed carry class. I realize that folks working at gun stores/ranges have to deal with a bunch of freaks but when good & decent people show up to support the business they should be given respect. Oh well... T-Rex Range was close enough and the guys there are great!!!

Excellent knowledge, expert gun smith(s), nice range. Large selection of rifles and hand guns as well as shooting sport paraphernalia. Prices on weapons are very high. I did not buy here as I was able to find the same for less via online retailers.

I swear this is a terrible place. The staff member I delt with was so rude. Never spoke to me, he was acting like I was going to steal a pistol, then I ask about lay way he said no they dont have it. So another staff member came to me after he left me and said they allow you to pay half down and you have to pay the rest in two weeks. At least he told me something but that old guy was terrible. I promise Ill never come back. Id rather go to other places like recoil. Also when I was asking about certain P320 pistols I wanted some type of in sight on the pistols all he said was they are all right there. Other places give details on what youre asking about this guy was just terrible I swear I wish I remembered his name because I sure would name him.

Very Friendly People!!! After having a HORRIBLE Experience calling another place. I found TG on Google and Even though I called Shortly before Close with question they took the time to answer them thoroughly. 5 STARS! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
