We take all our vehicles to Protech in Tehachapi for smog, they give a small discount for canned food donations. They are on time and perform smogs quickly. Today, I returned a week after having my ABS module bleed. I felt there was still air in the brake system. Jeff at the front desk got me scheduled right away. Jose one of the mechanics explained the process he did to re-bleed my ABS module and the rest of the brakes using their scan tool to activate the ABS module. There was no charge for the re-bleed. I recommend and will continue to use Protech.

I was on my way to Colorado when my radiator blew road side assistance had a few places to take it to and just from the name it self I picked them and I am glad that I did they were very helpful in getting my truck fixed in e very short amount of time I will definitely recommend them to anyone and will always use the again when going through Tehachapi awesome people and customer service.

Outstanding!!! Ordered wheel bearings for my van and got them overnight. Doubled up the workers and got us back on the road in about half the time. Thanks for the great service

Very friendly personal, the guy at the front desk even help me with other questions I had that wasnt related to the reason I had to their shop.Overall it was a very good experience getting to know more mechanic shops around town.Prices are very reasonable and competitive. In my experience I really think all personal there are very honest.

I brought my vehicle in for a smog check which it failed, and brought it back to get fixed. Staff at the front were rude and dismissive, and spent a lot of time in idle conversation, not regarding business, while I waited to be helped. But Im patient, so I let that go as just rude people. However when I got my keys back after the repairs, I found that the front seat belt latch is broken. It was fine 24 hours before when I dropped it off, and wont latch now. They refused to do anything about it, denied any fault (I get it, accidents happen) and simply suggested I spray some WD-40 in there and walked away. It is not safe to use, so I gotta spend another $50 to replace something that wasnt broken when I trusted them with it. If you have to get your car fixed, this should be the last place you take it. It would have been worth leaving it for a week in Bakersfield to not have someone break my truck through negligence.UPDATE: The check engine light came back on after only 800 miles (one drive back to Oregon). Whatever they had done to fix the system to pass emissions will have to be done all over again this year, likely for another $750. Scam.

Protech has done fine work on all four of my vehicles now. And the owner has a wonderful vintage Corvette.

I needed a smog check last minute and all other places were either booked, didnt have the right equipment or were closed. Protech was professional and took me in right away. They did a great job and the price was great. Highly recommend.

Excellent service when I had a problem while traveling through Tehachapi. Coolant was leaking and I had a loud grinding noise when towing my trailer. Thank you for diagnosing the problem and getting me back on the road safely!

I had a blown radiator. Bought the part and went over there the owner was super cool funny and polite. They took a 3 hour job and were able to do it in 2. Would definitely recommend great service and skill 10/10 stars.

I took my 1995 vehicle for smog, they got right on it without hypercritical nonsense. In and out 15 minutes.

We came in to get the car snogged. We were only there like 10-15 minutes. When Chad handed back our keys, your all done. Paid the bill and we were finish. Yay!!

Only go here if you need a brake and light inspection. They will try and take every penny from you and can diagnose a car still charge you and give you no new information. Worst experience of my life.

Fair and honest which is a hard combination to find these days. They take the time to thoroughly explain what is needed. They are timely and cost is very reasonable. I highly recommend this establishment.

Brought my brand new car there for my first oil change. What a disaster. Quoted one price. Charged another. Waited forever ...almost 3 hours for an oil change. All I needed was the oil changed and tires rotated. I dont know about this place. Maybe it was just a bad day for them. Not willing to try again. I will keep looking for a decent garage out here in tehachapi.Next service for my car....dealer.

Said I needed 4 new tires. Went to Bakersfield and I do Not need tires. Quoted $600for brake pads, got it for $310 in Bakersfield. Avoid this place.

I took my vehicle to be smog and they tampered with certain parts and hoses so my vehicle wouldnt pass smog. Before I took my car there my engine was quiet then i start having problems. If you go there for auto work beware these people are crooks.

Great shop. I had a check engine light. They diagnosed it and saw that it wasnt too serious and told me what to do when I got where I was going. Thank you again.

Paid $40 so they could tell me that they couldnt start the smog test because it was idleing too low. But they would charge me $200+ to fix it. Took it home and two turns of an allen screw and it was okay.

The mechanics at ProTech are of the highest quality. I failed smog and they diagnosed the problem, fixed it, rerested for smog and passed my rruck in a few hours! Thank you!
