Cool and local game store! The guy wasnt very talkative or welcoming, but they had a good selection of various games for various consoles.

I love this store for the games it sells. I have systems from sega genesis to PS4 and they have a good selection for every system. They even have reasonable extra cords for old systems. I once brought a broken n64 game in and it was fixed for me! The reason I have to give 3 stars is they don’t allow customers in the restroom. Last time I was in I was excited to buy a new game but had a sudden urge to pee while browsing. I had to leave and go home. It just sucked cause I really wanted a new game and they would have been closed by the time I could drive back. If I have friends in town that want to use the arcade, I’ll remind them to bring a bottle lol

Overall the place has a good selection and prices are mostly in line with the market. A few exceptions where they were a bit higher priced then should be. Customer service was none existent unfortunately. Two people were behind the counter and barely greeted me. I was the only one in the store shopping and was there for almost 30 mins. I was never checked in with or acknowledged. A saving grace is that they have an arcade that you can play unlimited for different time periods. There were a couple of tweens in there playing while I was there and they were not interacted with by the two employees. I ended up not purchasing anything since the employees did not seem to want to be bothered/distracted from their conversation or testing a game as I was overhearing. Overall solid selection, cool arcade, but bad customer service.

This is THE spot for retro gamers. While a bit small, youll find games for all kinds of systems. And with its own arcade in the back, theres plenty to do in this little retro shop.

Went for Gameboy games, had about 6 games total like construction zone and hit wheels racing terrible selection, the employee was too busy playing Nintendo wii behind the counter to hardly help me out. Tried to buy a jurassic park game for the Gameboy and he wouldnt budge on the price so I left and prolly wont return. Good uck to you guys hope you get it together. It has potential

This place is awesome! They have a super cool section in the back that has a wide variety of unlimited-play arcade games you can play for $10! I love this place. We always come here to play retro games and have a blast every time! The owners are so friendly and nice! The staffs are always going above and beyond to help.

This place is awesome they have a great staff excellent selection good prices. My kids enjoy themselves in the GameZone for hours of entertainment and fun they got to play the games that I grew up playing and got to see the different game consoles that we grew up knowing. Their staff member who was working at the time great customer service cuz he was really into his work he knew his insides and outs of the gaming world. We are definitely going to go back and visit again

This place is awesome with its weekly and monthly events and get togethers, and now with 2 stores, theres even more inventory to check out. Staff is always friendly and the owners are pretty cool. Prices are very fair and reasonable and so is their trade offers. One of the few places that has arcade machines, the selection is a decent size but all topnotch games in the arcade room. Overall a great experience every visit

Both locations have very friendly staff and will go out of their way to help answer questions. The Tempe location is awesome with stand up arcade cabinets which have all you can play for like $10. If I have one complaint is that, even though they recently moved to a larger location, the game room is small and can only hold at most 15-20 people with not many places to sit down during events. It can be hard to move around at times. Otherwise, its a great place and a welcoming atmosphere.

The Gaming Zone is one of those rare places that combines old school mom and pop family feel business with knowledgeable experts and a first rate set up. They make their own 64 controllers with more durable parts. A no brainier of a first purchase. Great place! My wife bought a couple x box games at a very reasonable price and now shes eyeing a PS2 console they have for sale their too...

When Im looking for video games there is where I go. No exceptions. They have good prices and the staff are crazy knowledgeable. These peeps love games. Theres a really good arcade and game room in the back. The gaming zone isnt just a place of commerce, they are community centers for the gaming oriented and a really important part of the social fabric of Maricopa. Keep up the good work!

The Gaming Zone is awesome! At the beginning of Quarantine, I wanted a Super Nintendo to keep me busy and play the classics. They gave me an awesome deal and I got Super Mario, Megaman X, and they even through in a bonus game for free! Amazing customer service. Playing Super Mario took me back to my childhood and it’s been great to pass the time playing it! I will be back for sure!!! Thanks Gaming Zone!

The store owners and staff are very knowledgeable on retro games (unlike a lot of stores ive been too that mostly just know about PS3/360). Prices are fair and they carry batteries and other replacement parts to fix your older systems. If youre into retro, repros, or arcades I havent found a better store in AZ!

The fighting games are in great condition, the arcade is a lot of fun, overall me and my two kids had a great time and we just so happen to come in when they were having a special and it was half off. Good Times! They also have a lot of great swag associated with games and game and culture along with a lot of retro games and consoles. Its a good spot if youre looking for retro console games and game-related swag as well as a great arcade and some computer stations.

I come here often to play in tournaments, play the arcades and buy games. Everyone is super welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Its like a home away from home

My son loves coming to this store. When i go I always try to buy him something he used to play as a kid. The arcade is so big! Even i like watching all the games you can play together.

The place is cool in concept, but its obvious the owners dont know the price of their merchandise. Or theyre just looking to scoop as much profit as possible. $50 for Zelda Spirit tracks is insane, along with a $50 price tag on 007 GoldenEye because of a reproduction case (and asking $25 for no name snes games is a bit much). I want to like the location, but for collectors beware: search elsewhere first.

These guys are great! You should definitely choose TGZ over a company like GameStop... and dont trust the 1 guy with lots of accounts who is leaving 1 star reviews.

Ive been going to the gaming zone for years and I can honestly say that without it, Arizona would not have a thriving fighting game community. This place holds events and tournaments for us on a weekly basis, they provide all the equipment and allow us to set up streams etc. The owners are some of the coolest and most accommodating people I know.

This was my first visit. The people at The Gaming Zone are really nice!! I brought in some older games to trade in. I felt I received a fair estimate for cash / trade-in. Its fun to check out all the classic games and systems. They have a great selection of games! I also checked out the awesome arcade. I had a great time! My favorite arcade game there was X-Men vs. Street Fighter.

Go to one up games or fallout games. Went in a few weeks ago and they had a game i was looking for.. it was 250$ the guy at the register wouldn’t come down on the price at all. I showed him the same exact game on ebay for 140$ cheaper and with the manual and he wouldn’t budge so i just ordered off of ebay. If you want gamestop like prices come here. The owner of FOG and 1UpGames are more fair with their prices.

One of my favorite video game stores in Arizona, I always try to visit this place when I can. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, fair trade offers, and always a great selection of games. Every time I come here, I never leave empty handed, Its always a fun visit if you have a great love for video games. Not only do they sell what you are probably looking for, there is a great selection of games to play in store + arcades. Hope this place will be open for generations to come.

If I have one critique I would ask that the arcade have an hourly rate discounted by group and by age. It would be awesome if it was more flexible. This is an awesome place to pick up new and retro games and various pop culture items like cool shirts and keychains and such, associated with video games.

Shopping at this store is a great way to at least start a retro video game collection. I currently shop there once a week and get 1 to 3 games along with the occasional Nintendo Power

I enjoyed my short amount of time spent in the store. It was set up great, the staff was friendly and they had games for every system you could think of.

I originally stopped by this place because I went to Arizona Donut Company (amazing place for good, cheap donut holes) and saw this on my way there. Its pretty rad! There is a great variety of new and used gaming equipment and games. The owner is very informative and easy speak with. There is an arcade full of classics and consoles that is relatively cheap to play in (pay hourly, for 3 hours, out all night), and great to bring friends along for. On Fridays (and maybe some other days) the arcade is open until 12! You can also trade in games and equipment for store credit or cash, and you can call ahead to see what they would pay for it. Next time you need anything gaming related, give these guys a call and check them out!

Every time I go here, I always find what I want for my collection. They always welcome me in, and the arcades in the back are just fun to play with your friends.

Fairly decent store. I like the staff, friendly knowledgeable bunch, willing to chat with you and share their knowledge on games of all types. Ok selection of games, very nice layout. My only feedback is they need to be more flexible on prices. They wouldnt even consider eBay trends and tend to price things higher than even the gaming online list price especially for popular titles. This why Im sticking to 1Up games and Fallout games which is expanding (which makes sense because they work deals with you). Please work that out Gaming Zone, your store atmosphere is cool, but need to provide better deals.

Needed a corded Xbox -360 Controller and I knew Gaming Zone was the place to find it. Extremely friendly, the selection is awesome, and their Arcade is an absolute steal at 10 an hour.

The selection of games is great but overpriced compared to online prices.Their arcade was cool but definitely not worth $10. Most of the games are broken and the selection could be a lot better. I think if you gave people more bang for their buck you’d see more revenue.

The store is set up very well. Huge variety of games for multiple platforms. Prices are competitive to high end. I picked up a couple NES, SNES, and PS2 games. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would come back here next time I am in Phoenix.

This establishment is great!! In the front part is a retail center with both older consoles and newer ones, along with the games. In the back part is an arcade. They have done a good job incorporating old school such as Tetris at the same time you can rent a modern day console to play modern day games. The prices for this arcade section are very reasonable, especially for the old school $5 for totally unlimited play. The console rental is $3.00 per hour. It is nice and cool inside, too. Located in a small strip mall area, there are places to eat as well. I recommend this place.

Great gaming store has a huge selection of Old and New Games. Employees seem to care a lot about what they are doing and I even overheard one of the employees referring a customer to another store that had a power cord for cheaper... very honest people here hope they stay around!!

Nice store to buy games from. Also have an arcade in the back. I have not played the arcade yet, but you pay by the hour to play. Only thing that could make it better is their prices are a little higher than GameStop for classic games.

Nice smaller retro arcade and game shop. They host Smash Ultimate tourneys on Tuesdays. I showed up a bit late for a tournament but they were still very accommodating!
