This store is convenient for me to get to right off Hwy 10 and Warner. The selection is thin, the pricing is also not competitive with Amazon as well. Even the online prices lag behind. However, if you got to have it right now and they have it, then you will purchase it there. I am thankful its at that location 🙏.
Its a guitar center. We went here to grab drum sticks and blue gels which they had. Friendly reminder to any beginning musician or parent looking into getting their kid an instrument that Guitar Center is not the place for woodwinds, brasswinds, or bowed strings. Beginner guitars, basses, and drums may be okay, but its also likely youd get a better instrument and deal at a local music place or a second hand site. Dont be afraid of a used instrument; its really best to get the best instrument that can be afforded. Poor instruments lead to a disappointed learner. Guitar Centers are good for small accessories you need last minute and thats about it
It’s guitar center. It’s gonna be loud, at time obnoxious but that’s what the equipment is there for. I went it. Was greeted with a smile and guys and gals working are in a good mood. Snooped around for a little bit to see if there were any deals on used guitars. As usual, there was but I’m broke as. But I knew that, that’s why I go into guitar center. To pretend I can afford guitars and play them all while knowing I’m only there to get guitar strings. Anyway, all to say, great place. Cheers GC!
Epic place. Took my 11 yr old, for his new passion. Massive number of choices, instruments and accessories. Superbcool place that offers everything from picks to full on stage equipment. There plenty of other things like vinyl records, music books, novelty paraphernalia, and instrument repair and replace items. Theu offer lessons, practice rooms, repair service and rental services.
The staff here were quick to help me. Bought a used presonus and it works perfectly.
Nice store. Clean and items clearly on display. However staff had little product knowledge, I was looking for a specific guitsr, the Lazerus Epiphone just released and they knew nothing about it. Also when I had some questions about amps it was clear they had no knowledge of many common models.
Great customer service by Ian at the Tempe location! He went above and beyond to make my granddaughters 1st brand new guitar buying experience a joyful one. Plus, hes been more than patient with all my inexperienced questions over the last few visits into the store, and even remembered which guitar we were picking up from on hold. There was even a slight problem with the guitar which he handled promptly with the tech to correct before we took possession of it. I cant say enough for Ian, and the rest of the staff of the Tempe store! Thanks again for the great service!
One of the best stores to purchase all your recording related goods. Im so happy to have bought my mic and stuff from here and the staff was incredibly helpful. As big as guitar center is, I generally get good service. It’s usually easy for me to get in, get what I need, and get out in a matter of minutes.

Was in town from Tucson to have some fun. Visited the center with every intention of purchasing a $2,000 electronic drum set. Shameful display of their drums along with the fact that not one employee approached me to say hi or ask how they could be of assistance. Maybe they have too much business, but it would have been nice. Left after playing the acoustic kit in the drum room after 15 minutes.
Amazing Interface, AMAZING customer support. Im so impressed with Antelope Audios ZenGo Synergy Core interface I just bought. I had an engineer friend point me toward it after I said I was thinking of buying a Scarlett unit. He told me Id end up having to upgrade whereas the new Antelope gear is high end studio AD converter quality. It really does sound amazing and the build quality is first class. What really surprised me is their customer support that is available almost 24 hours a day Sunday to Thursday (theyre based in Europe). They help with any question you have from basic setup to complex routing questions.Also! Im not sure about other interfaces, but Im astonished that Antelope does full onboard processing of its affects. That means my CPU is totally unburdened and I can even use it as a standalone effect processor in live performance with full access to all of the plugins!Also keep an eye on their website for package deals that include plugins like their current deal that I received... $499 for the ZenGo interface INCLUDING $1600 worth of their most popular effects. I literally have a high end studio recording platform for $500.Oh yeah, it works great with Reaper the FREE DAW created to knock ProTools off their high horse ;)I purchased online with Guitar Center / Musicians Friend which has always worked great for me.

I ordered a DAngelico Bedford SH Deluxe and the pick up selector had a loose wire. I took it in the next day and Triston the Guitar Center tech had it fixed in 5 minutes. I am super pumped at how good fun and light hearted the service was. Thanks a bunch.

I had a bad experience with an acoustic guitar setup here and didnt think I would step inside the store again.I went in to check out some guitars I have been looking at online. The prices on acoustic guitars were close to what I have found online and the selection good.

Went into this guitar center and was immediately helped by Danny. Unlike other guitar centers I’ve been in Danny and the other staff members were very knowledgeable of the products being sold in the store as well as online. It’s worth the trip to Tempe to be helped by competent people in a clean friendly environment.

We love visiting Guitar Center. The employees are nice.
They sold me a used guitar as new and made the return process more difficult than necessary. Matthew who works here is very disrespectful and was lying to make it out as if he did nothing wrong (e.g. he said he asked if I wanted to order a replacement for my return and that I responded with a yes, but then later said he came out 3 times to make sure thats what I wanted. If my answer was a simple yes, why would he need to come out three times to confirm a simple yes response?). In reality my response was that I was here to return the guitar as advised by an online agent and they will be ordering me one straight from the warehouse. Theres a lot more than this, but I would end up exceeding the character limit. But to summarize, in my 17 years of purchasing music equipment this is the worst customer service experience Ive ever experienced. I will never go back to this store and my girlfriend changed her fender telecaster shipment from this store to somewhere else after witnessing what transpired at this location. The online store was great as usual and so are other Guitar Centers Ive visited. I usually shop at Zzounds and Amazon (just recently bought a nice Taylor acoustic from there) but Guitar Center had a really nice finish with this particular model, so Im glad the online store got it worked out for me.Update: The Store Manager contacted me and reassured me that this behavior wasnt acceptable. She was awesome! Shes definitely made me consider going back to this location.

Love this place! Staff and stock was really low though. Great deals, loved the savings on the new gear 👍. Wow was it a wait though, waited 30 minutes for help (after asking for assistance) and even then the poor cashier was having to multitask helping other customers at the same time. He handled it fairly well however, props to the frontline staff👏.

Went looking for a cleaning kit and reeds for my clarinet and found everything super quick thanks to the help i got from one of the employees. Didnt catch her name but she was very friendly. I was in and out in 5 min.
I would have bought a guitar today, but no employees available to help, I wanted to plug it in and play thru an amp, needed a plectrum, tuner, etc. Also, i had questions since this would be my first bass guitar. But, they didnt appear to have an employee that floats around helping customers, cashiers were busy. Pretty much on your own in that store.

Honestly, I give up with guitar center. I am a lefty and they basically refuse to carry anything left handed. Tons of manufacturers make them and yet out of the dozen times I have been here the best option has been a Mexican Tele or Ibanez Gio. Its pathetic. At one stop there were only 3 customers in the store, all 3 lefties, and not a single guitar around. When I asked why I was told to shop at a different online retailer. Well, your wish is granted.
Amazing service! I purchased an electronic drum set and a few days after my purchase one wire connected to the cable snake harness stopped working. I went into panic as this part is difficult to find sold separately. i called and their employee Ashley directed me to the fact that they had some spare parts lying around from opened kits in their storage and swapped out that one piece that would make or break my setup. Ashely and Brandon were a huge help today in getting my kit fixed and up and running again, major thanks to them for their great customer service!

I stopped in here because I had set out to buy my first expensive guitar. I imagined that id stop in and really explore my options for my price range.I thought that the in store experience of holding different guitars and taking to a sales person about my options would be better than what I normally do.. (research and buy online)I went to 2 different stores. In both stores noone ackowledged me as I walked around. I couldnt read the labels on many of the guitars..Most were out of reach, the selection was not very good and I couldnt figure out how they were arranged.The guitars i did see didnt look to be well cared for.. i purchased from amazon.

Unbelievably rude. I walked in 30 minutes before closing to get one thing. I asked the guy at the counter where the item was. He just pointed and said Make it quick, we close in a few minutes.
Friendly service no pressure to by and answered our questions
We came in an hour and a half before closing to have them look at two guitars to sell. We were told they stop looking at trade-ins an hour before closing. We asked what time it was and the salesman quickly changed his story to, “we’re understaffed.” I can understand the struggle of being understaffed, so why lie to begin with? As we left, we saw another employee wandering around. Why couldn’t he look at the guitars? What a frustrating experience. I’d recommend a different location.
As someone who spends a lot of time in music stores, and generally buys a lot of gear, very often - this is my go-to spot. Ive been to GCenters all over the country, so its not something I say lightly.Shout out to Raul & Matthew, they have been more than helpful & super patient as I ask them to look for gear from different stores and order it in. Ive also scored a couple of killer deals here. In my opinion, the best part about this store is that they may ask you if you need help, but generally let you actually try out gear. You can tell a lot of the staff are really into playing, so they are great to bounce ideas or questions off of.

It was great. Everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful. At the same time they were not pushy at all. Guitars from 200.00 to 2000.00 and no pressure from either end. After almost 2 hours my son has his first guitar and everyone is happy.
Brandon was super helpful helping my boyfriend pick out his Christmas gifts. Hes incredibly happy and I am super happy that one thing is checked off my list this year! Great service thanks again!
At 53 finally paying attention to that constant little whisper to Get a Real Guitar and Learn to Play One! To my delight, Shane came through with THE most AMAZING customer service experience EVER!! Never bought a new guitar in my life! Of course, the case to cradle my passion is sturdy and Very affordable. Why I love Guitar Center? They are truly wonderful people (INCLUDING management ) who care at the VERY core.
Forgot the associates name but he had great knowledge about all the different instruments we had questions about. He also could play them. I’m excited to go back and get my keyboard with weighted piano keys!

After telling us over the phone that they had a kids Yamaha guitar available, we drive 50 minutes to go retrieve it only to find out once we get there that its broken. They werent even apologetic about it. Had to drive across town to the Scottsdale location just to get the guitar we were told Tempe already had. Terrible customer service, would never recommend.
I did not have a very good experience here. The store is clean and they have a lot of services to offer, but the customer service was horrible. My girlfriend was told to go wait near the counter for service to her guitar...the employees looked right at her and continued to chat amongst themselves and never acknowledged her needs. We stood there for serval minutes and no one in the store acknowledged us after we asked for help. Very disappointed.

Been at this store many times in the past but today an Assistant Mgr. by the first name of Matthew was a breath of fresh air. Calm, professional, answered ALL of my questions. If you need someone who keeps their cool and answers ALL of your questions, in my opinion, just ask for MATTHEW.
One of the better GC locations Ive been to. They have a decent ammount of quality used gear and the staff is more helpful than most.

I have been to this store MANY time and really like/recommend it. The staff is nice and helpful - when you ask them for help (they dont bug you if you dont - so dont mistake this for ignoring you). Also, i bought many guitars for here and some i didnt like and they were more than happy to take them back (no questions asked). So now i ended up with just the right gear that i really love! Great people who knew what they knew what they were doing. The people who worked at the store were good also, but people who are willing to that their own time to pass on some tips makes Guitar Center what it really is, a place to get gear and learn something new and pass it on.
They don’t open to 11. Just so everyone knows since it’s too complicated or cumbersome for the employees or management to update the information on their website or Google.
Everytime I go into this particular GC there is always a dispute over product replacement or a simple task as a return. I was told that I could receive store credit or have a check written out to me! If any cash transactions are made over $250 can you please explain that to the customers so we know what to expect and not always blindsided by a new policy that I am miraculously suppose to know.
It’s a decent store but I was a little disappointed. The building is massive but when you go in it’s just a normal guitar center. Selection was also a bit lacking.

I felt a little passed over by the employees and when i went to purchase my items the only guy at the register was talking to the couple ahead of me... which was fine but even after he had checked them out he kept talking and talking and talking and even went as far to start playing a song on a guitar. After 8min or so i slowly walked up a little closer then 6ft... trying to be respectful and he made eye contact with me and then kept playing and talking. After 15min, i had to put my items down on the counter and just nodded and smiled. It was great customer service, just not to me or the people behind me in line waiting. I did notice a few other employees walk up and start ringing in guests behind me. So that was good. Store was somewhat clean and the employee that was finally ringing me in was very nice so that helped.

They have a great selection of guitars but the staff wasn’t helpful. No one came to assist anyone. I saw many other customers look around and no came to help. There was also no staff in the acoustic guitar section. When me and my family went to ask a guy about the guitars he did not act kind and we just ended up walking away with nothing. Most of the staff was either in the back or talking to like one person or so.

I ordered a cymbal from this location online and when calling to check on shipping they discovered an inventory issue. Without delay the manager Ashley was able to find me another cymbal in place of the one I originally ordered! Today I received my 21 Zildjian Sweet Ride today and it is a beautiful cymbal indeed, couldnt be happier!Thank you and your staff Ashley for going above and beyond to take care of your customers in this difficult time. I was incredibly pleased by how seriously this Guitar Center is taking the guidelines to keep customers and employees safe during this pandemic. I did have to wait a bit to be let in, as they are limiting the numver of customers in the store at once, but it was worth it knowing that safety is their top priority. Once I was in, I was able to find what I needed and get help promptly, so it made up for the trivial wait outside. Keep it up Guitar Center!

I love going to this guitar center to explore instruments and various musical items. However, the new digital pianos that have came out years ago still aren’t out, onto the playing area to test. In addition, all of the demo pedals in the digital piano section don’t work. Some digital pianos don’t even turn on. Some pianos had broken keys, some didn’t even play, and some were way too high to reach. I wish the store had more recent releases of pianos.
I went in to buy strings and I went up front and there was 5 employees just standing there and chatting while I was waiting and just staring at them hoping someone would check me out 😐

5 stars for good customer service and how they packed up some used drums I ordered. Extremely professional job on packing. Some other Guitar Center locations could take a lesson from these folks. Need improvement though however on how used items condition are judged. The used kit that I ordered was good condition on Guitar Centers website coming from this store. When the kit arrived, upon inspection, they were border line not so great. Had to drive an hour south to my local Guitar Center to return them. Thankfully they have an AWESOME return policy. Got a full refund without any issue. Guitar Center will always have my business. Awesome company to deal with. They normally get it right all the time. If they ever get it wrong, they always make it right.
This is a good store with friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately the customer service staff do not cover their noses with the masks only covering their mouths. Seeing that they do so is a management responsibility.
