This is the cutest cafe with the best coffee and food, and the pastries are so good we order them for parties. The woman that runs this place is badass for doing everything while being so friendly and welcoming to someone who doesn’t know anything about French food. I’m happy every time I come, it is worth the wait. I am so glad a cafe like this is in my hometown:)

I Love this Place! All the goodies are great!The Croissants are so light and buttery. That aroma actually does feel like Paris. The restaurant is cute, and the food is good. But if youre in a hurry, dont go here. I have only ever seen 2 people working there: The cook/dishwasher and the owner. If youve ever been to Europe, it is not known for the quick and rapid service Americans are used to. So, if you are not in a hurry, try this place out. The crepes are light and tasty. The goat cheese salad is surprisingly filling. And, of course, the chocolate desserts are delicious.

Ive got to say, the moment you walk in you get a wave of wonderful smells from the food. The sweets they have ready to take are so good and the food is beautiful. The owner is so lovable and friendly to everyone.

This little French Bistro is quaint and the food is freshly prepared and authentic French. The service is very European (meaning slower), but, they dont hurry you out of the restaurant either. I go here with my spouse every so often and will occasionally pick up some French pastries or desserts. Their dine in menu is great! You must come here.

Chocolatine makes you feel like you have left Thousand Oaks and arrived in a European Cafe. The food and drinks are amazing, as well as the atmosphere and service. You never feel rushed to leave. It is gem in this town.

Best French cafe in the county! My wife and I have been coming here for three+ years now, and keep coming back for the tomato goat cheese soup.They also handmake an assortment of incredibly delicious truffles and chocolates!

My mom and I went here for a congratulation lunch! We got a croque veggie and roast beef sandwich! I love how the sandwiches are shaped as a heart! Hearty, fresh, and you can taste the love and fresh ingredients with every bite. We got the chocolate raspberry mouse dessert! It was so yummy and beautiful!

This authentic french bakery is where its at. It is tucked away in a little corner and an absolute gem!!! I have tried a few things and loved it all but their chocolate crossaint is hands down the best I have ever had. I have even traveled to France. Love love love...a must try.

Had a craving for some authentic macarons. Found this cafe on internet search. Was greeted warmly and friendly with “Bonjour!” Ordered the strawberry crepes, 6 assorted macarons and croissants. Service was quick and efficient. Came out fresh and because of to go order she was thoughtful enough to separate the warm crepe from the chilled macarons. Follows all covid protocols and even gave my credit card a nice sanitizing wipe. The food was absolutely delicious! So far I ate the rose flavor macaron and was amazing! Can’t wait to try the other assorted flavors and find out my favorite. I’ll definitely go back and try their salad and sandwiches next time

Chocolatine is one of our favorite places to go grab breakfast. My husband and I had our first date here, our first I love you and our return from France, jet lagged engagement celebration breakfast here. Owner, Sandrine knew we were expecting before anyone had been told. We continue to frequent the cafe celebrating big life events and cant wait to introduce our new growing family to the menu.We love the croissants and pain au chocolat because it takes us back to France. They are buttery, flakey, and melt in your mouth. I also love the courgette soup and their iced mocha is such a treat. We love how we can sit and enjoy our food leisurely, like the cafes in France. So pleased to have a unique and independent cafe to frequent in our neighborhood.

This place is amazing! We are hooked on the croissants. Last weekend we ordered too late and missed out on croissants so we tried the crepes and now Im not sure which I love more! For Mothers Day I asked for a quiche from here because they are so wonderful and I wanted to treat myself. Everything we have tried is wonderful. Keep up the great job and friendly service!

Great little place for a a nice cup of coffee. Just moved to T.O. and came here early in the morning to have some coffee before unpacking my belongings, it was Sunday morning and it was quiet, peaceful and the the quiche was delicious.

Great, cute little French bistro and bakery. Reasonably priced with great sandwiches and crepes. Owned and run by a lovely French woman whos pleasant and happy to chat! The bakery is also pretty good. Has nice outfit seating.

AMAZING SERVICE ! We left home in Solana Beach early on Sept 30th for our 7 day vacation in Pacific Grove and this cafe was our planned lunch stop at around 1.15pm ( we stopped at the Tesla Supercharger at The Outlets at San Clemente to top up our Tesla Y ). My wife found this cafe online ( great reviews too ) before we left home and we agreed it sounded like our kind of place ! And it was only 2 miles from a Tesla Supercharger in a Thousand Oaks shopping center so we could top up our Tesla Y before our next planned stop. What we didnt plan on was the 108F sweltering heat when we pulled up outside the cafe...and no dine-in due to covid restrictions. Sandrine the co-owner of the cafe ( with her pastry chef husband ) greeted us in a wonderful friendly manner and said first off that there was one table in the shade on the narrow patio out front. And Sandrine was right ! We ordered 1 x hot Latte, 1 x iced Latte, 1 x Croque Turkey, 1 x Croque Roast Beef while standing inside the cafe. Sandrine said she would bring everything out to us on the patio. We truly value friendly service wherever we go and Sandrine was up there with the best...big smile under her pretty facial mask despite not being allowed to seat customers inside her lovely cafe. Our lunch order did not take long to come out courtesy of Sandrine of course...first our coffees and then our grilled sandwiches. My iced Latte looked...and tasted absolutely amazing. My wife enjoyed her creamy hot Latte also....even in the oppressive 100F in the shade. I could feel my kneecaps melting under the table. Our well made and presented paninis tasted wonderful...good quality ingredients all round. Sandrines husband baked the delicious looking pastries and they also sell a huge selection of delectable hand made chocolates. Im sure in normal times ( and cooler weather ) it would be an even more wonderful lunch & breakfast spot !

I was strolling through the area looking for something to eat and drink and came upon this place. I was greeted by a (cute!) woman who spoke French. I sat down and ordered some iced.tea and a veggie sandwich with cheese. Ice tea was fine and came in a tall, almost wacky glass. Sandwich arrived cut in half at 45deg and then a side is flipped to create a neat heart shape design. It tasted quite good but I wish it had a bit more substance. I was wanting more for something that almost cost $9.

This is a cosy little bakery. The owner is always smiling. I had a chicken salad sandwich. It was good. I plan to return to try out the quiches. There are no cakes here. Best. Coffee. Ever. If youre tired of the burned beans at Starbucks, head to Chocolatine, a quaint, French cafe and soon-to-be bistro that caters to a more sophisticated palate. Come for the coffee, but stay for an incredible pastry, the lightest, most delicate quiche youve ever had (OMG, have dreams about the Goat Cheese Quiche), a delicious and authentic crepe, or a grilled sandwich. Then there is the confection counter - sigh, the ruination of my diet. Cannot leave without at least one macaroon or unique chocolate (strawberry basil, salted caramel, lemon, lavender...you cant go wrong).

We sat down and received menus, but ended up waiting for 20 minutes before our order was taken. Other people arrived and had their order taken while we waited. My wife gets grumpy when she is hungry. Not sure if we were forgotten or if they were understaffed. All that said, the food was delicious! We will give it one more shot sometime soon and update the review to see if this was an anomaly.

This is one of the best little coffee shops that I have been to in Ventura County. The owner is from France and is the one running the shop as the waitress and behind the counter. They are extremely genuine and have a very family oriented atmosphere. As someone who has visited France multiple times, I can vouch that the food and drinks are authentic. Im definitely making this my regular coffee shop!

My wife and I love Chocolatine. This authentic French cafe reminds us of our trips to Paris. The croques and pastries are authentic and delicious. The owner never rushes you, even if you stop in for just a cappuccino and time to read a book.

Love this place, food and service like France

A very bad place, we ordered a tomato quiche and a strawberry crepe, the quiche tasted like scrambled eggs and there was no tomatoes in it at all, the strawberry crepe was just layer of dough not even cooked, and they just spread strawberry jam on it and folded it. It tasted like uncooked dough with cheep jam and we paid $5.5 for the crepe. I was so pissed off, I dont recommend this place at all.

To those who have said the service is slow. It is. Its quintessential, authentic French. Slow is good. As Americans, were accustomed to everything being fast.The food was great. The cafe au lait was perfect.So come in. Sit down. And relax. Its worth the wait.
