This is one of the best brunches Ive ever had! An ambiance like no other place youve ever seen-all vintage lamps with fringe, chandeliers, clothing, furs, jewelry, and prohibition era cocktails better than anywhere else. theres a speakeasy upstairs! The brunch was unbelievable, so worth the trip. The chef, Karen, is a culinary genius. Do yourself a favor and go eat here. Treat yourself!

Quite an eccentric place. Loved it. My son and I stopped in here for a coffee and cookies after a visit to the kids museum. Delicious cookies and definitely an engaging atmosphere. Would love to come back to try lunch or dinner next time were in the area.

It is like a step into another time. A cool idea of an antique shop in a restaurant/cafe. They have the best collection of true antique and vintage lamps, shades and chandeliers. And jewelry. Small area, but brimming with lamps. The service at the restaurant was excellent. The food was superb!Both the food and antiques are very expensive, but we really enjoyed the experience.

Had a great meal before a show at the Warner. We had walked by this place many times and couldnt quite figure out what it was, is it a antique shop, a ice cream parlor do they serve food? Well after a little research I discovered The Ritz is a little of all these things. I would recommend a reservation if you are going to a show. Looking around the antiques we discovered the outdoor space in the back and look forward to visiting once the weather gets warmer

What a wonderful Antique/Vintage Collectible Shop and Speak Easy Restaurant! The owners have done a fantastic job displaying their beautiful wares from Vintage Jewelry, Clothes, Furs, Gorgeous Chandeliers, etc. It is visually stunning! The building is Antique/Vintage as well with high pressed tin ceilings and beautiful lace curtains. There are booths in the shopping area, as well as a front and back patio for dining. There is also a cocktail bar in the shopping area. Upstairs is the Speak Easy dining area which is gorgeous. It is appointed with beautiful Chandeliers. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. The chef is one of the owners. We cant say enough about how good the food was. Large portions and delicious! There is a dance floor and wonderful nostalgic music from the past. On Saturday evening me and seven friends had dinner at the Chrystal Room upstairs before we went to a play at the Warner. The room is amazing with all the different antiques and chandeliers and our meals were delicious. Salad was excellent, pork tenderloins were so good as were all our dinners. Our waitress couldnt have been better, no nice and helpful. We will definitely be back. Great night. Janet

Atmosphere was so 1920s, it was uncanny. We loved the decor and tasteful background music. A girlfriend took me here for brunch and the food was wonderful! We cant believe we had never been here before. We will definitely be back to try more of their delicious food offerings.

What a spectacular place. Vintage and just wow. Different things to look at and available to purchase. Food was delicious. Had pineapple glazed salmon with mash and vegetable medley and carrot cake. Server was polite and we had a great time there with friends. Cucumber spritzer was very good.

My family and friends have been patrons of this establishment for 30years! Karen, Rit (the owners) and staff have always been more than accommodating and gracious. The atmosphere is something from a history book... as a patron you are transcended back in time to a period of elegance and class! The menu is hand picked and decadent with complementary pairings fitting for “upper crust” guests but all patrons are more than welcome. Perfect for a first date or a private party of 20. This is a hidden gem. Please do yourself a favor and visit this establishment you will not be anything but pleased.

The upstairs Crystal Room in the Ritz was a delightful and unexpected surprise. The food was excellent, but the ambiance and service were amazing. There is such a light hearted feeling to the place and so much eye candy that it worth returning to it again and again. Next time well plan more shopping time, and do the Sunday brunch!

A real gem of a place to go. Whether you are sipping coffee in the cafe downstairs, or dining on delicious foods upstairs. This place is an instant time transport to nostalgia. The drinks and food are excellent. And the staff is kind and welcoming.

I had dinner here on a special five course night. It was totally enchanting and genuinely eccentric. A fantastically weird and delicious little place. Its made out of love and hard work. Restaurants are all trying to be like this. Theyre not open every night so call ahead.

One of the best restaurants in Torrington. High quality ingredients and properly prepared food are the star. Decor and atmosphere make this the perfect place for a date. The only thing that could be better is the inconsistent service. Some of the staff could do with some hospitality lessons.

Dont waste time wondering why they sell vintage clothing on the first floor, lampshades from the back room, and dinner and cocktails upstairs. Just knock rapidly four times and give the password - swordfish. They whip up root beer floats that would make Al Capone smile.

Kudos for the creativity and splendor of the Ritz Crystal Room! My friend and I had a fabulous dinner here and I was filled with admiration and good cuisine.

Really eclectic space... when you walk in it feels like you are stepping back into the 1920s. The first floor has a cafe and ice cream treats and the second floor has about 10 tables and serves dinner on weekends. They have a quality by the glass wine selection and an assortment of cocktails from the era. The menu has options for vegan and vegetarians as well. Surrounding both dining areas is a vintage shop with many different items to look at or buy.

If you are looking for antique lighting chandeliers table lamps Etc and a whole collection of other antiques including some furniture if you clocks jewelry Etc and the neat part is they serve lunch downstairs on the retail floor so while youre dining you can look until your head spins in the meantime dinner is served upstairs I believe at 5:30 is a limited menu but very nicely done and super tasting

Everything about the Ritz is a WOW!!! Came here for brunch during a girls weekend. From the moment you enter the restored Art Deco building, you are transported into the 1920s. From the hanging lighting fixtures, to the vintage clothing, jewelry and accessories, the atmosphere is a treat for the senses. Cafe dining is available on the first floor and outside in the warmer months. We dined in the upstairs lounge, an intimate space for 40 or so guests. Menu selections sound incredible. We ordered the special seafood omelet, the bacon/egg/cheese waffle, the artichoke/bacon toast and eggs benedict. Every dish is a home run! Cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Full bar. The cocktail choices are yummy. Bloody Marys are a work of art. Never saw anything like it! The brunch mimosas come in a variety of flavors. We ordered the pineapple & cranberry and they packed a tasty punch. Desserts were pure decadence. Fudge brownie sundae & cannolis were excellent. The Ritz is ideal for a romantic evening, girls night out, special celebration or intimate event. Make a reservation and experience special dining in an extra special place.

Staff was amazing, it was a very unique atmosphere, a hidden gem in downtown Torrington. Food was very unique for the area. Beratta and tomato salad was fantastic, try it!

Stumbled into this place ! What a delight. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. You can sit downstairs in the cafe or upstairs for the restaurant menu. Intimate space. Either spot is simply breathtaking. I was alone so I sat downstairs. Brenda was the server and she was friendly and informative. You can tell she cares aboutt the restaurant and the store. I chose a salad with organic greens, added the pecan chicken salad. It was great and served with warm pita bread. All around you is vintage lighting, jewelry, framed art, hats, purses, glasses and furs for sale. There were even Immaculate condition. If you have children, understand the tables are next to very expensive vintage lamps, so they should be well behaved or tad older. It was impressive. Not a spec of dust to be seen. The drink menu was also vintage plus they had homemade desserts, coffees, expresso, etc. They offer ice cream sundaes, milkshakes -also adult versions. You can even stop in to check out their cookies or pastries to go. I hope to go for dinner soon. It left me with such a great feeling to be surrounded by such beaity, history and thanks to the owners for sharing with me. Sorry to say, my camera phine does not work so no photos....

We love eating in the dining room upstairs in this restaurant because its always been so good but we were very disappointed with the service downstairs for lunch and was surprised to see how unfriendly everybody was and how poor the service was.
