I have been renting a unit here for over 6 months. I visit my unit a few times a week. Staff if professional and helpful. The facility was recently repainted; looks great!

Very pleased with the service at this location. Had a difficult situation and property manager Kevin did everything he could to help me work it out. Would recommend Extra Space Storage (especially Troy, MI location) to anyone needing storage services in this area.

Stay away! Rented a unit a month ago, came back and found tons of paint chips and water damage all over the items and furniture in my unit. These geniuses thought it would be okay to POWER WASH DIRECTLY AROUND AND INTO each storage unit!!!! What a disaster.

I won a storage auction at this facility and Kevin was so courteous and professional. He does a great job running that facility and is very friendly and easy going. I would recommend this facility if looking for storage options!

A secure and clean location with remarkably friendly and helpful assistance from Kevin… (I think his name was Kevin, just realizing I’m not totally sure 😬)… but what I am sure about is whoever helped me was very helpful and friendly.

Ive been very pleased with the facility and service Ive experienced at this location. Sometimes in the process of moving and relocating many stresses can be the norm. Property manager Carla is very professional and was accommodating with some special circumstances. Highly recommend this location.

I honestly wish I would have used a different storage company. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful . I moved out the last week in August. At that time I found that there was mold all over the bottom of my wood furniture and also boxes and boxes of clothes (not on the floor) that need to be professional cleaned to see if I can even save. I contacted them as soon as I saw the mold and the lady working that day told me to take pictures and email them to Josh! Talked with Josh a few days later and he assured me that he had started the claim process for the insurance company. A few weeks went by and I didn’t here anything so I emailed Josh to get a status update. He never replied to that email so I emailed again. At this point he gave me contact Information for the insurance company. So I give them a call ( India) and they tell me a claim wasn’t filed for my account. So I give this man all my information again and said that someone would be in touch with me in 3-5 business days. It’s now been about 3 weeks with no return call. These storage units are so outdated that they can’t keep the Michigan weather out of them. If your thinking about getting a storage unit here maybe look for your own insurance.

Josh is the man with the storage plan. But seriously its cheap, its clean, it stores, what else can you ask for. They are covid safe in person or online.

Was a 1 star but edited this after the problem found a solution. Had almost lost faith in humanity with this company, I was pretty upset as to how my situation was handled, thankfully I was able to speak with Jason who was able to help me, unfortunately it took a few unfriendly people to get to him.

I just checked out of extra storage space and I cant say enough about the facility. The attendants where always very helpful and the facility was very clean. I will definitely use them again for my storage needs.

Great service! Answered all my questions and really helpful even though I was not ready to rent yet and was just getting prices!

They have good response time as far as reaching out to online customers, but they fail to mention that they REQUIRE insurance until they are rallying up your total at the end.Also, when we arrived the gentleman working that day saw us pull up and instead of letting us know that he was showing a unit to someone and be right back, he turned away and drove off without a single word.Luckily they have the better prices via online or we probably would have walked out.

Liz is AMAZING! I booked my storage unit on a Monday. She called me the next morning on Tuesday and I was able to get in their earlier than expected! She had a unit ready and available, we drove over to see it - it was exactly what I wanted. BAM! Done! Easy and awesome.

I reserved the last 10x20 unit online. They quickly called me and made sure I realized it was first come first served since it was the last one. When I got there, Darnell made me feel right at home. He honored the internet special rate and thoroughly explained all the details of the lease agreement. I look forward to moving my stuff in and working with these guys in the future. Thanks!

Just got my Miata out of winter storage at Extra Space in Troy. They do an excellent job, are very efficient and could not be nicer to work with. I will use them again in the future and highly recommend them.

I love this place. I rented from them before. The place is clean. The staff is friendly. The first time I rented from them there was a mixup but they fixed it immediately. I highly recommend this place. Also the price is great too.

I came in looking for a large climate control space, and unfortunately you dont have one here, but Liz in the office was so sweet, greeting me at the door with a smile and trying to find an option for me that wasnt too far away. Little things like that mean a lot - trying to find a solution even if you cant help directly!

I inquired about a unit to store a vehicle and everything was quick and easy, from the paperwork to looking at the unit, everything was quick. Liz immediately called me as soon as I reserved the unit and reassured me that my vehicle would be safe. Unit was clean and ready for move in. Definitely reccomend! Cant beat the price when other places are charging double for roughly the same size

Upon reserving my soon to be unit online with a special promotion (First month FREE), the next morning I had a follow up call from the location, they left a message letting me know that they had received my reservation and if I had any questions!!! Now that is awesome for me... knowing that they will have a unit that I reserved... And that they were on the ball with customer service!!! It only got better, I was in the office for a few minutes, then off on a golf cart to check out the unit where my belongings would be stored... back to the office, finished the contract, signed the lease... unloaded my vehicle!!! This experience was a 9 out of 10 ~ Very happy that I chose a place that truly cares about their business, and their customers!!!

I rented a 5x10 storage unit here for a year and had a great experience. The employees were extremely helpful whenever I had a question about the companys procedures or had an issue with my unit. The proximity to downtown Birmingham is ideal, and the price is reasonable for the area.
