Previously I bought on line hearing aids. Ergo with a 2 yr pmt plan. The right worked fairly well for 9 months I sent it back and without question they sent me a new 1. The left worked for 13 months. I tried to get a replacement. They said on way, but we will give you a discount. NO THANKS.So I had no working aids for the balance of the year. I cant wear just 1. With Modern Hearing it lease mine, and if anything happens i just drive locally and get it replaced. Its 50 dollars more per month, but worth every cent.

Top quality service as usual, had my hearing aids in for service and they supposedly came back all programmed and ready to go. Not the case and they worked me in to check them and no there needed to be programmed. So 10 minutes later they are back to normal and working as they should with my iPhone and the Widex app.
My husband Dave recently got hearing aids from Modern Hearing Solutions in Wadsworth. They were very professional and caring. What a nice thing to be able to have him hear again. Only wish he had done it sooner !
The staff is extremely unhelpful, the desk assistant doesn’t help with any information, will not try to find any help to provide us with. No one answers the phone. They are very slow with giving back the hearing machines. I wish they provided better service.

Like most audiologist they want to get as much money from you as possible. Product is as good as anyone else. Audiologist pay anywhere from $50 - $300 per device and resell them to customers for $1000 - $4500 per device. This practice should be illegal. I found a better price online and they priced matched it with no problem a substantial price difference. They make money bundling unneeded and unnecessary services to take advantage of senor citizens. They use high pressure sales tactics to try and get the sale. It was even suggested I should call my wife after the initial exam to go forwarded with an almost $7000 pucchase. I altimitly purchased the exact same devices online for $1250 for the pair and had my insurance reimburse me.That is correct I paid less than 20% of what they were asking and I get the same warranty and followup care. To all please do your research before going to this hearing clinic or Any audiologist office. Hearing aids are truly not expensive the office and salesperson want the most profit possible and take all they can from the elderly, uninformed and those who are made to feel they have no other options.I can honestly say I gave 2 stars because they did refund my purchase as they are legally required to do no questions asked within 30 days of delivery, but after businesses response I have changed it to 1 star because I cannot give 0 star. I was going to let it go without a review but I was emailed daily asking to submit a review. The staff is kind and friendly (most people who rob seniors are). My issues are more industry wide than this particular establishment but they particapate with the problem and not try to correct the issues.1st, you have 5 - 5 star reviews here not 1000s.2nd, buying online widgets? I am talking hearing aids not amplifiers. Especially now since the FDA has approved the sale of OTC hearing aids. There are plenty of real choices. 3rd, as for self treatment not much can go wrong people have had control in such devices such as ear buds and head phones for years you never hear reports of damage from too loud ear buds the worst senerio is you have to adjust gains and that can be done online as well by a licensed audiologist for a fraction of the cost as well as a audio gram. And finally :Be aware that in Ohio, you have 30 days to return the hearing aid for a refund. At the time of purchase, the seller must provide you with a “Right to Return the Hearing Aid within 30 Days and Receive a Refund.”
UPDATED: THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS!! AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!! They pretend like theyre so eager to help you but they are really out to screw you over!Let me lay out the situation. My insurances pays 75% and I pay 25%. If the doctors office is in a network with the insurance the insurance company can negotiate the price down. My bill was $6300. I paid up front 25% of that so $1500 on the low end. Modern hearing IS networked with my insurance so my insurance company negotiated the price down to $2800 AND paid it all. So I get my $1500 back right? WRONG.Modern hearing did not tell me they do not using networking prices and that I would be stuck with the FULL amount for the hearing aids. So when my insurance negotiated the price to $2800 I thought great! But nope modern hearing solutions still wants the full $6300. That is CROOKED. And WRONG. If you are in a network you honor that network prices. If your in the business of helping people then by God you help people. You dont make it about money. SoThen to top all of this off. I get a packet in the mail. Months after the return period of the hearing aids. Telling me that the owner tried to contact me. BULL. I have never gotten a call or text or anything from him. AND it says in the packet that they want to press charges on me for my review?! So they screwed me on money. Lied about calling me. And want to press charges because my review isnt a good one. Let me ask you all this. Does this sound like a place you want to go to for hearing aids? The one thing you NEED. no it does not.I will say that maybe if the owner DID actually call me or honor the network price of $2800 and gave me back the money my review wouldnt have been so negative but alas this is not the case. I will not be bullied into changing my review. If they want it changed they must earn that. I will keep this review updated as more things unfold.

The staff could NOT have been more friendly or accommodating. I needed custom ear molds for some musician equipment and they were quick, very helpful, and obviously cared about the patient experience above all else.
These people were fast though genuinely interested in my hearing problems. They understood and came up with a solution that fit my budget with out sacrificing quality.Highly recommend them, dont wait especially if your currently using older technology.

Kelley was very helpful in resolving the issues my husband was having with his hearing aids. She was able to replace some parts and improve his quality of hearing. Since we are retired, it was greatly appreciated.

I have been returned to normal hearing! I had hearing aids in the past that made sounds excruciating, and I quit wearing them. After 8 years I was really unable to converse and understand what was being said to me. I saw an ad about the new Phonak rechargeable aid carried by Modern Hearing. I went for a free hearing assessment with Erik at the Wadsworth office. With the help of the patient and caring staff I wore my new aids home for a trial. After the trial Kelly helped me set up 1 year same as cash financing. My quality of life has improved ten fold, and although the aids have a cost, I consider them priceless. Our audiologist, Kelly Smouse, is excellent. We received exceptional service. She is very patient, knowledgeable and understanding. She is also an extremely talented professional. Not only are we comfortable with our hearing device, we find its features exciting to use. All in all, an excellent experience.
I am 51 and have been wearing hearing aids for about eight years. I just purchased blue tooth hearing and I am so delighted. The staff is so so caring, and they know what they are doing. !! They actually care. I even got devices for my tvs so it streams right to my ears !!!! Just life changing. !!!
The 2 Kelly’s were both wonderful. The receptionist tried to fix my problem but was unable to do so she set me up for an appointment the same day. When I saw Kelly Smouse a little later she was great! There was an update for my hearing aids that I didn’t know about so she fixed it & updated my cell phone too. Then we went over a few more things that I had questions on. She was very pleasant and patient with me. She really help me.
Life gets really difficult when you can’t hear. I can’t thank Kelly the Office Manager at Modern Hearing enough for helping me. I assumed my hearing had just gotten so bad or something was wrong with the 5 yr old hearing aid. Kelly had me come right in so she could test it since the audiologist was booked, she offered to clean it & test it and determined the receiver needed to be replaced. Within a week I was wearing my repaired hearing aid & the audiologist tested my hearing. They were both so professional and friendly and above all willing to help. So glad I don’t need to drive an hour to where I lived and worked previously to get new hearing aids for both ears in 2020. Thank you so much Kelly and Kelly!

My father is 80 and didn’t think he needed hearing aides. Lol after a family intervention from his daughters and grandchildren, he agreed to go. We went to Modern Hearing Solutions of Wadsworth and was beyond happy with the service and the outcome. Scheduling was easy and we were able to talk about coverage upfront. Once there, they walked us through the testing/selection and fitting process pointing out along the way reasons for him to wear them daily. Quickly after my dad’s speech improved-he had a slight slur because he couldn’t hear himself speak as clearly as he does now and he is engaging more with those of us who love him dearly.
