My son in laws Highlander blew a head gasket. He was in Ft Drum in the US Army so we took on the task of getting it repaired for him. Apparently first gen 4 cal Highlanders were prone to this and it isnt an easy fix. The Toyota dealer it was purchased from didnt want any part of tackling this repair and gave me a quote of $3k to do the job. They werent even going to touch it but farm it out to an independent in Macon. Soooo I tried the local Toyota dealer. They just said no. They would rather do brake jobs, batteries, the odd timing belt here and there. A friend who was an ex Honda Master technician told me to try Total. He said he could do it and do it right. And most importantly they were honest. When I went by they were totally familiar with the issues and knew exactly what it would take as it relates to special tools etc. When he gave me his quote I was stunned! I thought it was a mistake. Not even a third of what the dealer quoted. We had plenty of time so I left it and waited. A month later when I got the car he had done some extra work he saw it needed with no extra charge. After a winter in upstate NY I can report the car is running flawlessly with 164,000 miles on it. couldnt be happier with the service and the repair. If the place looks crowded and in disarray dont be deterred. It looks that way for a reason. They are BUSY. As they should be. Great shop.

Been to them twice to get my sons VW Jetta repaired. Once for a coolant leak and this time to get the A/C fixed. Super nice people. Very honest. They will diagnose a problem and tell you what is wrong without charging you for it. I would definitely go back to them and I would highly recommend them to anybody.

Really nice people. Cheapest transmission repair for my honda. It took two months however. And today I noticed a coolant leak. They also installed a new radiator, and the hoes clamp was not installed correctly so the hoes just popped off. Luckily I am in town still. Overall I am happy with the service but I keep finding little things..
