Very Unprofessional service!! My wife and I had a test drive and then we could not buy the car because it was more than 8pm at the night. The next day we called and we talked with 3 different persons, and nobody had an idea what we talked with the concierge and everything. And with every different person, we had to explain our situation again and again. We again called back 2 days later and same thing happened, different persons every time and we had to explain every time. Moreover, every time we talked they denied about the discount they agreed upon previously and then they offered discounts way less than the previous amount.While these things were happening, the car we were trying to buy, the list price was 14950$ in their website. Then, in their website they changed it to 16950$ and then added 2000$ discount to make it again 14950$. Does the sale even work like that?Their car had broken tail light and additional deformations on the body of the car which they did not mention in their listing. The driver seat-belt was super loose which would have been a huge safety issue, too. I do not think that a proper inspection was conveyed at all.

One of the best experiences Ive had than going to a dealership, I used shift.com. I actually found it by looking through guru cars. It was hassle free and very easy. They even brought the car to the house for the test drive without cost to me. The person that brought it was very friendly and helpful to us. I would not hesitate to do it again.

This Place is a ridiculous Car Store….if you don’t have Computer and email you can’t buy from them.. and if you coming with a Cashier Check they are all confused … I live in City Big Bear Lake been here 3 times (3x 200mils round trip) Every car is over priced … stay away …maybe good if you don’t have money and need financing….and just need wheels hahaha

Would give it 0 stars if I could. It took 3 days to get in contact with sales. Cant get a refund on a deposit for a vehicle they wont let me buy. Told me my sick & old grandmother could do e sign for the contract, just to call me again and tell me nvm she has to be present of delivery to sign the vehicle. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. I work at a car dealership In Beverly Hills, and we would have all been fired if we were as lazy as this crew. Anyone reading do not buy. a car from this place, or even attempt to.

Worst car buying experience ever. Good concept but customer service is very poor pretty much non-existing. Even my bank said they have never experienced anything like it. Trying to get a hold of anyone and the lack of customer service being able to get answers and information required to complete a transaction is mind-boggling. Even talking to a manager that pretty much didnt care about what the experience was showed no interest to make things happen. Not sure how they stay in business. Just realized how many people had the same or similar experience as me. From having to wait on my scheduled appointment for 45 minutes because they couldnt locate the vehicle to not showing up when they were supposed to delivering the vehicle and then taking it back because they didnt communicate what was needed to take possession even thought the sales advisor told me what I had was sufficient. I guess I should have checked Yelp first. If you consider them be aware and reconsider going somewhere else.

I am having the exact same issue as Katie Layton below. I am over the 90 day registration window and still haven’t received anything from the DMV. I have brought this to customer services attention multiple times, but no real solution has been presented. I even got pulled over on 9/3/21 and got a fix it ticket due to my registration being expired. The cop informed me the vehicle was not registered before it was sold to me. For being charged over $1000 at the time of purchase for a “Shift Service Fee,” you would expect them to at least respond to your calls/emails/texts when you bring this sort of issue to their attention.

Fraud company. Stay away. They didn’t honor their warranty. They held my car for 6 weeks never fixed anything only to return it to me with my tints removed. After spending days arguing with them and their denials they finally admit that they did remove my window tints. Customer service is non existent. Just a horrible company. They will probably reply saying sorry but we did issue a gift card for the tints - blah blah blah. It’s not about the money at this point it’s about me having to spend 4 days of back and forth emails along with phone calls talking to people that don’t seem to know anything before someone acknowledged they messed up. Save yourself the hassle and stay away

Shift sold me a lemon car. I’ve only made two payments on it and the car already needs a new engine. I called them and explained the problem but they are unwilling to help or assume fault. I have begin the process to sue them and hopefully get my money back.I wouldn’t recommend anyone buying a car from this company. Absolutely the worst.

If you are attempting to buy a car with them through your bank, PLEASE make sure they actually work with them before you put a nonrefundable deposit. The Customer service and Sales Advisor both told me they would work with my bank (and there happens to be some sort of resource they have that tells them if your bank works with them) and I put a deposit in good faith under that assumption and next thing you know, they won’t work with my bank. Now I’m short $250 and I’m furious and disappointed. I found a great car that can be hard to find and I’m not about to run my credit AGAIN, just to see them give me a higher interest rate. I’d rather do that with another dealership if it’s because it’s something I can’t avoid.

My first time selling a car! I had my car for 11 years and it was time to let her go. I’ve heard great reviews about Shift (you get much more $$ for the car, more than car max, caravans, etc)I utilized their online system, got an estimate and scheduled an appointment at their Whittier location.I met with Carlos and another staff (I don’t think I got her name but she was a trainee) and they were both so great! Made the experience super easy and very welcoming. Plus they got me a lyft back home :)They paid me via direct deposit which took like 2 days.I would highly recommend Shift if you’re looking to sell your car!

While my purchase advisor was excellent and I love the vehicle.. I cant drive it now. I still have not received my registration and my 90-day temp plates and tags are expired so the car is just sitting collecting dust. I have contacted customer support 6 times and I just get the same answer with no real update. Everyone Ive spoken to is very nice, but Im getting no where. I have even spoken to the DMV and the last real update they’ve gotten was 2 months ago and that they are still missing documents. They’ve supplied me with a rental, but I should be driving the car I’m paying for. Im getting no real answers and I’m getting frustrated.

Purchased a 2019 Mercedes A220 on June 3rd. Received car on June 11th. The car was shipped from west coast to TN. So far so good. Well fast forward to today,July 27th, and I still have not received my registration. I have made two payments on the car and have carried full coverage insurance since 6/3 as well. The first issue started when the rep stated I would need to get emissions testing done. 1. Why would the dealer not complete this like the past 15-20 vehicles I’ve purchased? 2. I don’t have emissions testing in the county I live in. I told the rep this and he said he would note it. Weeks go by and the car has been just sitting in my driveway. I call shift to see where the registration is and they tell me I need to get emissions testing once again. I explain AGAIN that I don’t have emissions testing in my county. Also, why did nobody tell me they are waiting on this, I could have saved time if they just communicated. The rep said he would explain this to the documents team. Well I never received a call back so I called them a few days later to see where my registration is once again. The rep stated that the documents team said I live in a different county and I need to get emissions testing done. I said no I don’t live in said county and emissions testing isn’t done for my county yet again. They told me I should just get my emissions tested just in case. So now they’re asking me to drive a car without registration or license plate over 3 counties to get it done. I said absolutely not. Now they wanted proof I live in my county. I ended up taking a screen shot of my property records with the county on it. MY PROPERTY RECORDS! I’ve definitely never had to do that while purchasing a vehicle. They finally believed me. At this point about a month has gone by. A MONTH TO PROVE TO THEM WHERE I LIVE. During this time there has been little to no communication on Shifts part. I’ve had to initiate every conversation with a call. That has been the last update. Now I’ve been waiting almost two months and still I call daily with no usable information being supplied to me. I always get the same response, “we’ve sent a message to our documents team, as soon as they respond, we’ll let you know.” This has been the absolute worst experience ever. Such a shame because it started out so well. Literally this whole transaction seems like a scam. I have a $35k Mercedes just sitting in my driveway for two months. If they would have just supplied a bill of sale and not charged taxes, I would have gone to my county clerks office to have it registered the day I received the vehicle. Now I’m stuck.

I purchased a 2013 BMW 3 series from this dealership. The buying process was great. They brought the car to my home for a test drive and did all the paperwork through a tablet. Very modern and innovative process.....BUT THEN....I started hearing grinding from the engine bay, parking lamp issue, and the brake sensors came on all within 25 days. I purchased the extended warranty but the issue should be covered by the 30 day warranty. I was told to take it to repair place of my picking so I took it to McKenna BMW. They have to hold on to it for 2-4 before I get a diagnostic. It was a headache to get SHIFT to agree to pay the diagnostic cost instead of me waiting to recoup the cost. I even asked for a loaner since I will be without a car, that is under a 30 day/extended warranty, and the first note is due....they said to ask BMW....but I didnt buy the car from them....like I said the buying process is great but after purchase support (even in the first 30 days) is minimal. I was told CarMax is their competition. Not true because my wifes car is from CarMax and they repaired any issues on site AND provided a loaner to her....not happy and cant recommend....guess Ill catch the bus to work and the grocery store

Terrible experience. Test drive was originally delayed for unforeseen reasons and then cancelled less than 30 minutes before the rescheduled time for car issues. How can you be surprised with fixes twice?Also, my girlfriend believes she left her purse in a car and the lack of concern or care has been ASTONISHING. Impossible to get in touch with the location directly, yet they still have people calling us to see if we want to buy a car… while we can’t get anyone on the phone about her missing purse!

Short version: SAVE YOUR MONEY,TIME, AND CREDIT SCORE. This place is horrible and will sell your car even with a deposit on it. Also they charge you a shift fee (for horrible service) whatever deal you think your getting check the fee on your car, range $500-$1000.Long version: This place is an absolute mess. Please save your money,time, and credit score. The customer service here is awful, you never know who your sales person is and because of that my car was sold even with my $250 deposit on it. The minute I put the car on hold is when it hit the website so it wasn’t ready due to it needing a safety inspection first, I was told my deposit would push till the day the car was ready. I agreed, after no update I get a email the morning of the day the car was ready and told them I couldn’t fly in till Monday, she agreed and pushed my deposit and signed me up for a test drive (so of course I booked a flight) then I wake up the next morning to an email saying my car was sold. NOW IM UPSET. Trying to get help from anyone was a nightmare, I kept getting new people and I would keep having to explain over and over what had happened. After hours of trying and waiting I finally got ahold of a manager who said nothing he can do the car is in process with someone else so all I get is my deposit back. I was made aware that my deposit would take 24-48 hours which it didn’t so I called in again and was made aware that they never pushed a refund. ARE YOU SERIOUS. I am literally in car sales myself and I would never let a customer experience something so horrible like this. Very unprofessional and leaves shift looking like a very unorganized scam.

This place is a total scam- you’re better off paying the extra 2k at a real dealership. The employees know nothing and have to “chat” with other useless employees over slack to get an answer. Top notch customer service! At first I was unsure about Shift after going to visit them in person. I quickly realized theres no need to visit this place and EVERYTHING can be done over the phone or from the comfort of our home. Excellent! We test drove the vehicle for about 30 mins, got to examine the vehicle inside and out, and decided we wanted it.We put a deposit down and looked at our different options for selling our old car. To be honest, CarMax offered us way more, so we sold our old car to Carmax and bought a used car fro Shift. We were thrilled until less than two weeks after purchase, our car wouldnt start!I called Shift and let them know the car wouldnt start. They arranged for a tow truck to come pick up my car and a rental car! Say what! After 5 days my car was fixed. It just so happened the fuel pump decided to go out, a standard part that needs to be replaced regularly anyway. Shift repaired my vehicle, detailed it again, and dropped it off to me with a fuel tank! Honestly folks, what more could you ask for?Great job, Shift! Im recommending this company to anyone in the market for a used car.

Though I feel my experience could have been a lot better from the very start, I can’t say Shift Customer Service isn’t extremely helpful, because they are. I bought a car from shift on a Sunday night, went to go drive it on a Monday—dead car battery. Hmm, okay. Called customer service, they had the tow truck come out and take my car back to their location to be diagnosed by a mechanic. Shift customer service had originally set up for me to get a rental, but the car I bought was put on the list to be expedited and was back to me by the end of Tuesday night with a new battery.

I sold my Infiniti in June to Shift and HIGHLY recommend their services. They exceeded my expectations with how quickly this sale happened. I contacted them and scheduled an appraisal for the next day. The agent came to my job, appraised, offered me $6k more than Carmax offered me, and took the car away with them in the same day. My car was paid off within days and my equity delivered via direct deposit the 3rd day. I experienced a very traumatizing and unpleasant experience with Vroom.com selling another car. If I had to choose between the two companies, I’d choose shift hands down.

Dont go there! Dont keep promises on deals made with sales personnel over the phone! They will change the deal as soon as you walk in, and start the paperwork. Thats exactly what happened to me and my family! Left us hanging without a vehicle or apology because they didnt want to honor a deal I made twice over the phone with the sales person I was working with. Shame on you! No business integrity at all! Did not even try to work it out a deal at all, I felt like they didnt care one bit about trying to sell me a vehicle at all! Dont do it people!

Called about a car they had and was told that there was an appointment monday for it and was able to get in tonight for it. The test drive was awesome 20mins alone. After that we did the financing and was nice and fast maybe 2hrs from the time I showed up to the time i drove off in my new Camaro. Will be looking for my wife a car next.

This is a review on their customer service, as I have not bought a car from them. I went to test drive a car with my partner at Shift Whittier on the evening of 6/11. After returning home, I realized I left my purse in the car we test drove (100% my mistake). After multiple voicemails and being on hold for 1 hour with shift, the person on the phone said their “shift was done in 3 minutes, so they couldn’t help me.” This was after they claimed the car we drove was already sold, so they can’t check the car. When I inquired about their cleaning policy after a test drive (especially because of covid!) I was told that they don’t clean the cars (!!!!). That rep told me someone would call back and they never have, despite my multiple attempts to continue calling. Additionally, we scheduled a 2-4pm test drive with them at our home that was delayed all day (we’d have to call to check on the status). Eventually, at 7:45 they called to confirm. Then, at 8:00pm, they cancelled on us… after waiting all day.Bottom line: this company does not care about their customers and it is impossible to get in touch with a real human.

Go somewhere else if you want a smooth and stress-free experience. I went into the location in Whittier for my 4pm appointment. I was looking forward to test driving a car I had researched and planned to buy. At 4:30 a couple that came in after me got assistance. At 4:45pm I cancelled my appointment and left. There where plenty of employees in the lobby but I guess none are there to help customers?

I am just giving them 2 stars just for initial process.my car 2013 Altima was returned to me after failed inspection .My car registration, title and owners manual was missing. Person who dropped off the said it was her fault she forgot the paperwork at the office and she will send my docs in overnight mail. after 2 weeks multiple phone calls and e mails from their reps Morgan and Supervisor Neil getting repeated answer we have forward your request to the field office. not very happy to stay waste my time and money to get duplicate title and registration. I would say to stay away from them if you want to sell your used car to them.

CarMax is safer and easierA sales rep by the name of Tiarra Wagner blatantly lied to me, and it brought my credit score down by 25 points. I specifically stated that I did not want my credit run, and she went ahead and sent me a link to a loan application anyway, but then told me it was only meant for me to provide information for pre-approval, and that they would not perform a hard credit check. That was a lie. As soon as I hit submit I recieved an email from Capital One informing me my credit had sunk. After that, I was livid. I decided to eat both the 25 point credit hit AND the $250 non-refundable deposit I made to Shift, and am in the process of buying with CarMax. CarMax is offering better service thus far.

Shift made selling our car so incredible easy. We booked an appointment slot from 10-12pm and our concierge, Jesus, showed up around 10:05. He could not have been nicer and was great about answering all of our questions. We ended up getting the full amount that was originally estimated for our car, and from there just filled out some quick paperwork with Jesus and got the money transfer initiated. All in all, the process took less than 45 mins and Jesus drove the car away at the end and also let us know when the car arrived back at their location. I would recommend Shift and Jesus to anyone looking to sell their car without the hassle of private sales...everyone was so detailed, kind, and helpful.

2010 Honda Accord EX-L 4D 3.5 V6.Bought this car two months ago. High price due to great facts sheet. Turned out I discovered it was in an accident that was not reported. Bumper replaced, trunk fixed and mismatched paint. Covered up well.I paid premium price, for less than premium car. Do NOT go by facts sheet. Their data on car value was inaccurate. A real bummer, as now I am stuck with as is.

Here is my memo to Shift. A bit long, but read it and be aware before you buy.Dated 10-15-20:“Customer Service Staff,I am absolutely unhappy with Shift. I have never had worse service after a sale. For me Shift went from a 4 star at sales to a 0 star at post-sales and I will spread the horrible experience your company has given to me to all my friends and network.When I called you first, you said I qualified for the Shift support. You made me run around to get a diagnostic report and after seeing that you decided not to take care of me. This is a huge disservice to a customer who was actually loyal. You told me the cost of repair is too small for Shift to take care of me and that is preposterous. You said you tried to help me out, but you did just the opposite. On top of that, you never responded to my email and forced me to constantly call you. Shift personnel just do not take personal responsibility to satisfy the customer after a sale.All in all, this is the perfect example of what a car sales company should not do. In fact, many dealerships actually provide service many folds better than what Shift has done now for me.Lastly, Shift still has not provided me my registration sticker after two months and that is a failure again.Shift is horrible at taking care of my troubles despite my kindness and patience. Very sketchy dealership and please check out the vehicle you are test driving everyone. They weren’t on time for my appointment (almost an hour late!) and they won’t let you scan the car computer with a OBD2 scanner, to find codes and find problems with the vehicle (immediate red flag), was able to scan the car either way, and it pulled up 3 codes involving the air bag, anti-lock brakes and the panel control module, and that’s terrible it passed their “150 point inspection”. They either have terrible and lazy mechanics or they just try to tidy up a car and put it on sale and give us “false confidence” in their “150 point inspection”. You couldn’t scan a car and make it a part of your point inspection? Pathetic and worse as other sketchy dealerships. I would recommend going to an actual car manufacturer dealership, save yourself some time.

My experience here was absolutely horrible. Went in for my test drive at 10am and had an employee there assisting me in getting a vehicle. The employee that was assisting me literally had no idea what he was doing like it was his first day on the job and was messing up with all the numbers and mixing up the prices. There was an extreme lack of communication between the customer and employee and the employee with management. Stayed there until almost 3pm for them to just tell me that they cant help me get that specific car after I was told that everything was on track and good to go. Why have me wait there that long to just tell me that I cant get what was already being processed. They also ran my credit and counted as a hard inquiry and did not even get what I wanted. This company is extremely unorganized, lack vital communication, lie to your face, care only about themselves and not the customers, and have employees lacking the most important knowledge of how to purchase a vehicle.

If I could give zero stars I would. Shift you have a long way to go, this has been by far the worst experience of customer service I have Dealt with. To say that you guys are deceiving would be a compliment. If anyone reads this review I hope that you guys don’t make the same mistake that I did. Make sure that you guys read the fine print very carefully. Make sure that you are always following up with the “appointments” shift doesn’t believe in keeping their word. I personally was rescheduled to and lied to 8 times, I wish I was exaggerating. Their concierges give you zero communication of where and what time they are arriving. In the 15 years of being in customer service I truly have learned that the greatest source of learning comes from the most dissatisfied customers... well shift you guys have a lot of learning to do. Please be honest with you customers. Don’t waste your time here, go to carvana or carmax, you will thank me.

I love that this service exists and have sold two cars to Shift so far. My initial experience was great. Super quick, friendly, and I got a good price for the car. My second experience was a little different. The initial payoff quote that they sent seemed great. They were very informative about the process before sending someone to look at my car. The concierge was extremely friendly, very professional. He took time to look over the car and drive it, deducted for regular things like dents, dings, wear and tear. Totally fine. The offer that he showed me seemed strangely low though, but no official breakdown was offered. After finalizing the transaction and reviewing the email that is sent after with a quote breakdown, I realized that they reduced the starting price by $450 without informing me. My warning to anyone using this service -- DOUBLE CHECK THE OFFER PRICE. BEWARE OF A BAIT AND SWITCH. Probably too late for me to get that back, but wanted do my part that it dosent happen to anyone else.

EXTREMELY NEGATIVE - not about price...I wasted 2 1/2 hours of my time with this company. We came to an agreement on the price I was willing to accept to sell my car to them. While doing paperwork at the end I asked why the California DMV bill of sale was not filled out completely and why it lacked a signature from a company representative acknowledging they bought my car on a certain date with specific miles on the odometer. The sale amount was left blank and so was the signature. The rep told me that they dont fill in the sale amount as a matter of policy and that I didnt need a signature. I asked them if Id be receiving a release of liability and I was told that they do it electronically. The rep called a manager who put high pressure sales moves on me and constantly interrupted and spoke over me. After the 5th interruption I hung up and walked away. They expected me to let them drive MY car away with fraudulent data on the bill of sale and no release of liability? ARE YOU NUTS? No way. I will not lie to the DMV about the sale amount and I will NOT be liable for your driver. I would have ZERO proof I sold my car to them. I would still be 100% liable. NOPE

I was given a good deal on my car and I like that they are trying to be progressive and different. I just think they havent quite worked out all the bugs in their business strategy yet. Theyll get there Im sure, but for now I would suggest you proceed with caution and only buy from shift if youre the type who knows what car you want and can afford and dont want to deal with a salesmen.

DO NOT BUY FROM SHIFT.I had the worst buying experience of any product I’ve ever purchased—let alone a vehicle. The short story is that it took exactly 105 days (yes, 15 weeks) from the purchase date to get my License Plates and Registration. Read on if you want the fully story…I had to do a nation-wide search to find the car I wanted. At any given time, there were about 3 available in the western half of the US, and any that did pop up were off the market in 3-5 days. Since it’s not a thing to be able to reserve a car from being purchased but still be able to go see it in person—which would include getting out to a location with securing time off from work, and flights, and this all happening during the heights of COVID. All that wasn’t happening. So that left buying a car online. It’s my first time and hopefully my last time with that experience.I initiated the purchase on 11/19/20. Once I did so, Shift was ON IT to get my info, documents, payment from my credit union, all that. So that’s to their credit. However, because I bought from Utah, they don’t have a dealership license to do so, so they contracted with a 3rd party. That meant I paid California taxes and got notarized paperwork for the 3rd party handling of the paperwork with the Utah DMV. Thus begins my descent into hell.Then I call my Shift purchase advisor to confirm the paperwork was received. No answer, no reply. I call again. No answer, no reply. I email. No reply. I email. A reply from some other customer service agent. I start over in email, asking for confirmation that they got the paperwork and that things are progressing. He responds saying yes.A week later the car shows up out of the blue. I get a phone call saying, “your car will be delivered in 10 minutes.” What?... Well it’s a good thing I’m home! So then I’m looking out the window and watch my new car on trailer go by my house, and I wait for them to come back. 30 mins later I get a call asking me to verify my address. So then another 10 minutes later, a guy parks it in the driveway. He rings the doorbell, asks my name, I tell him “Yes” (that’s literally all I say), and he hands me the keys. Then he takes some pics of the car for his app/job and walks to his buddy in the truck waiting for him and he’s gone. Well that was weird…I email saying I got the car. The next day I get emissions inspection done and Fedexed because Shift needs a copy. Then I go try to get temp tags from the DMV. Well, I don’t have a Bill of Sale. So I email Shift for one and they respond; great. Then I’m back at the DMV the next day and they say there’s insufficient documentation of the sale—but I printed and brought along everything available from Shift. The DMV relents and gives me a 15-day tag and affirms there will be no second one unless I’m willing to re-pay the Registration fees of $2000+ (that’s already been paid to Shift to do this work) to enact it myself. So I email Shift about the 15-day expiration and ask for an update. He “confirms” everything is going according to plan, the paperwork is in process. I am losing my cool.Now the temp tags are expiring (it’s just before Christmas) and I email them. The guy replies that he can get California temp tags to me. I say yes because even though they don’t do me any good legally in Utah, it might be enough to stave off getting a ticket. I get the California temp tags (which are good for 60 days) in the mail and put them on.Radio silence for two more weeks. I email for a status update. No reply. I email again, and a guy replies. He “confirms” everything is going according to plan, the paperwork is in process. Two more weeks go by. I email. He replies that there’s no news. I email again to all the Shift people I have emails for and ask all of them for information. The same guy responds.Then inspiration hits on 2/23 that I can check with my DMV via the VIN # for a registration status. They respond that they have no record anywhere for anything for my VIN.Character limit reached. AVOID THEM!

Buy a used car? I was not sure how this would go. But after dealing with Shift employees and finance dept. the car buying experience was a smooth transaction. The test drive was pressure free. The car was in excellent condition, pricing was very competitive. The whole transaction took less than 2 hours. That included test drive, loan approval, keys in your hands. Very satisfied with service. Would recommend this company to family and friends.

This company is legit. I have traded in and sold plenty of cars in my lifetime and this one has to be the easiest transaction by far. It was so smooth that my fear was it was too good to be true. They offered me a great price, way more than Carmaxx for my vehicle. And they came, evaluated it, and offered me the same price they quoted. 3 days later, check was deposited into my Chase account. In short, if you are the original owner and the car is in good shape, you should have no problem getting a more than fair value for your vehicle. Definitely would recommend them to friends and use them again. Thank you Shift, for making this process so exceptional.

Went in to get a market evaluation on my car. When I submitted the request I did not add that my car had premium audio. Fredrico noted that the appraisal would have to be increased from what I was originally told online. After noting some scratches on the door panels and reducing the price, I was offered 40% more than a trade-in valuation at a local auto dealership. They handled my auto loan pay-off, DMV paperwork, and were very open to explain every step in the process. I didnt expect to sell my car yesterday, but I was so comfortable with the whole process and felt like I wasnt being taken advantage of; then was offered just a few hundred less than I expected to make selling my car privately. It was easy, took less than an hour, and I barely had any paperwork to file.

I bought a Volkswagen CC Lux at 74K miles about 1.5 months ago. I find the buying process with Shift to be convenient and fairly easy. For one, in order to test drive the cars i liked on their website they simply drove the car to me. I was offered 30 minutes, but it was mid-day and there was a heat wave so I didnt want to leave their employ standing outside too long.I highly recommend anyone interested in buying a car with Shift to test drive the car twice beforehand. Once in the day and once in the evening and here is why...I purchased my car about a week after the 1st test drive and i drove it around a bit a second time the day i bought it, but it was not until that evening that I noticed 3 evident problems with the car: The tire sensor light came on, The headlights warning light came on and my spare key did not work.I wanted to take my car to the most reliable place to be fixed so i chose the Volkswagen dealership. Shift offered to reimburse for the costs, but i misread the part of the email that said they would need to get it approved first. I spent $470 to replace the broken sensor, the left head light and the spare key. They refunded me $250 which was all that they were approved for. I paid in full for my car so this was just an addition. As a person who is working full-time from home, and in school full-time at the university level, With a husband and two children also doing home-school, I found this part of the buying process highly inconvenient. I hardly had the time to drive back and forth to the dealership and be without a car for a few days. My advice is to test drive twice in the evening too. Also make sure they will fix the problems they did not mention the car would come with before you purchase it. Overall they are just an okay experience!

Hidden feesHad an appointment but waited for 40 minutes to be taken care of. The staff is nice but they are not very knowledgeable. Almost closed a deal on a car, the agent also offer a free delivery to my home, but in no time i got a call from their sales people to find out theres $940 shift service fee. I have checked their website and couldnt find anywhere info about service fees. What a scam and waste of time.

I got an offer online and booked an appointment at my parking lot. Everything was exactly as described. The agent was professional and explained all steps and set expectations. The process took less time than planned (my car was in excellent condition though and it saves time on inspection). My online offer was confirmed and as promised they added $300 credit because I was ready to make a decision and had all needed docs and keys. The money reached my bank account in 3 or 4 working days - again, as promised. My overall experience is very good, the price was 5-7% higher than offered via TrueCar online.
