I absolutely love book stores, being as we have a very limited selection of those in our area this one is definitely at the top of my lis. I could spend hours in here. Great sales make the pricing affordable, super clean and peaceful.
This is a quaint book store with a pretty diverse selection; besides fictional novels. There were many books from all different generes, but it was hard to find books I would prefer, nevertheless I still found something and was satisfied.
I would not recommend online order with in store pickup. Books that are in shipment but not actually in the store show up as being in stock. That would not be a problem except they have no visibility as to whether the book is actually in the store or in the shipment, so when they go to pull the book and it is not already on the shelf they will cancel it without calling to see if the customer is willing to wait and see if it is on one of the 5 pallets of books in the back. The associate that helped me when I walked into the store was super helpful and she was the one that advised me that it shows up as in stock when it is still being delivered. She was great, everything else about this experience was terrible.
Very clean, organized q d has a great selection. The employees were nice. And it smells like a million books. What could be better than that?
Nice place to visit...to pick / purchase a book or just sit & relax and sip on some coffee. Reminds me of the old Barnes & Noble that I used to visit...
My friends and I meet there every other week. We can get something to drink or a snack in Joe Muggs cafe and we peruse the books and magazines while were there. Its a nice place to meet.
One of my favorite places to frequent, staff are always super welcoming and everything is always tidy and organized, I never have a hard time finding any book.
I met the love of my life right outside the story five years ago. Next year we are getting married. 12/10 would recommend.
Excellent selection of book. A little pricey. Great customer service. Clean bathrooms.
Good selection. Peaceful atmosphere. Nice little coffee shop
They guys help.me out did like make money just on delivery they guys more popular on me !!!!
Although they dont have a great selection of books for crafts. I really enjoy finding books on other topics.
We always stop here on our road trips. My teenager loves to buy comic novels
A nice book store with a good selection of magazines and record albums. They also have some kids toys. They have a club that you can join to save more money. There is even a coffee shop in the store called Joe Muggs.
Good place for books. They have an ice coffee shop as well
Lot of books about witches. No Dutch language books. Hmmmm....
I called ahead to ask if they had a specific book available. Dan was very kind and accommodating. He not only checked in computer but made sure to find the book and hold for me. He then explained to me if I ordered online for store pickup I would save money. When I went to pickup book another very kind store employee checked me out adding that Dan left a review of me and said I was very kind, patient and made his day! It was all a very positive experience and makes me want to go back for all my book needs!
Who doesnt love books. Always have something you need and the fun stuff to.
Phenomenal experience! Ive been working with customer service for almost 30 years and I have to say without a doubt that we were attended by Max today and you definitely know how to treat customers! Keep doing an outstanding job 👏 👍
One of the few brick and mortar book stores still alive in the Amazon world. Massive selection with plenty of spaces to relax and read. Helpful staff for hunting down a good read. Big manga and magazine selection. Lets try to keep them open lol. Havent tried the coffee shop but its a nice option for a rainy day
Love Shoppinf here.
Book store......staff seemed nice.
The best place around to get books and the staff was very helpful
Great selection of whatever your brain needs
Store was clean and the staff was helpful.
It was good...do wish their membership wasnt so much. Now if I was there a lot it would be fine, but not being in the area that often didnt seem to make it worthwhile.
Great organization, friendly staff, and very clean. The coffee shop inside was nice. The selection of books could definitely be improved, though.
Friendly staff. Love smelling the smell of printed books. Didnt visit bathrooms this visit.
I have been looking at a few select books online that I have been wanting and online it was one price In store significantly more. Initially the counter person put up a bit of a debate stating that they cannot honor their own websites advertised pricing. When my wife called in they stated that yes they will honor their online price which I would have figured they would, this is after I was in store and saw that the price did not reflect their online advertisement. It seemed as if the employee tried to remain a company man and stand behind what seems to be corporates way of thinking because he stated they cannot sell them at their advertised price on their website that caused me to drive an hour round trip to the store. The employee informed me that I could do online pick up and go about my day and come back (books in his hand) which I do not live near by and did not wish to leave and come back taking up my precious weekend time off. Displeased I left the store cool, calm, and collected. Naturally I got back into my vehicle and my wife asked where my new books were, needlessly to say I was able to unfold my tongue with just enough explanation before her entering the store and getting my new books at the online advertised price. My wife stated that the employee attempted to say that he cannot do it the system would not allow him to do it even if he wanted to but the system must have underwent a miraculous update that allowed him to do so. I am pleased with the outcome of the employee doing the right thing in the end and I can only hope corporate sees this realizing that their policy is absurd.
I love Books-A-Million. The only book store left in our area. There is something nostalgic about the smell and feel of a real book in this digital world
Good staff, very helpful.
Somewhat pricey but very cool book shop and memorabilia.
Love coming here. Always fine great deals
Great selection of many different types of books. Decent selection of other things as well, including vinyl.
Always a great place to hangout and read.
Who doesnt love a good bookstore, the coffee shop is just a bonus!
Cashiers are trained to push magazine scams.
Love this placeVery nice staff also!
BAM is always clean and relaxing. Wish they had more adventure games, but overall a really good variety.
Great staff, always great book selections, and just a good atmosphere.
Great labor day deals
The best place to buy a toilet paper gun haha
The Winchester location of books-a-million is the biggest bookstore Ive ever seen in my history of visiting books-a-million stores. It has more books and dvd collections because they offer to buy back used books, dvds, and blu-rays. So if you like to explore to find a good deal or just to buy a good story, the Winchester location is a great place to spend the whole day.
Friendly and helpful staff. Not the best prices.
Best selection of magazines anywhere!!!
Vary nice staff + clean place.
The clerks were very friendly. Books and magazines were easy to find.
Books are still priced a little high, but I was able to get a hard to find book and have it in my hands quickly. Worth a few dollars more than buying on line and I didnt have to pay shipping costs or wait for its arrival. I also came across all kinds of books and other items that I hadnt even realized I wanted!
I love books and this is the only i think that still sells books.
They had what I wanted great.
This place has great used Dvds
Great selection that stays current and also has a good selection of non book items. Great for Christmas shopping.
Knowledgeable staff, great selection
The coffee shop area is always a good place to meet for a little confidential conversation with my daughter. Staff has always been helpful whenever I have tried to locate a book.
Clean, big chain bookstore. Surprisingly didnt hurt the small, local bookstores.
Thank you Dan at BAM of Winchester for the great customer service. You helped me renew my membership and saved on my new purchases.
-5 stars...I have spent thpusands of dollars here. No more. They violated my ADA and HIPPA rights and refused service. I will not do business with this company ever again.
One of the last remaining brick and mortar bookstores. Prices are reasonable also frequent sales make even better prices. They also have childrens toys, clothing, and keepsakes. A wide variety of Harry Potter merchandise is available. There is a coffee shop inside of the store as well which makes a variety or coffee drinks.
Staff were extreme helpful! They will try to find anything you need in the store and online!
Wish they werent too expensive 😕 but have really cute things!
Stock conservative reading at a bare minimum.
No many book stores left. Love this one. They have everything, and if not you can order it. But I love to go, get a cup of coffee and sit and look over the books Im thinking about buying. sometimes I find theyre not the ones that I want so I havent wasted any time or money and Ive enjoyed the afternoon .staff is good, some really have a true love for reading. Thats always nice.
I love Books-A-Million. It is truly an amazing store. It makes me happy! They have such a variety of fandom things, odds and ends, an awesome clearance section, games, and so much more! The store is set up in a very appealing way. The unicorn section is great!
This is a great place, they have most every think you could need. I found the book i needed.
I havent been here for many years. Using my phone and Google Assistant, I asked for a place to purchase greeting cards - first place up was Books - A - Million. I took the wife here as she needed the card. I had forgotten what a nice and peaceful place this is. Really enjoyed my time there and promised myself to put B A M back on the To Do list. Time to get back to books.
Great prices, amazing selections, employees are nice & helpful. Relaxing if you want to just sit and read. Have a great coffee shop inside as well.
I miss Book-A-Million which was closed in McLean few years ago so this one called good feelings :)
Nice book store that carries actual books, an almost nostalgic item these days. It also has knickknacks and great items for the readers on your Christmas list. The coffee shop looks appealing, but I have yet to sample their items. If you are a tactile reader or are looking for books to display this is an excellent store for you.
We came in as a family shopping for some books when we have a very rude associate come up to us, and inform us that if were not going to put the books in the right spot that he would have to come up and clean up behind us. He did this in a very unprofessional tone. I am a store manager for Walgreens and under no circumstances would I allow my associates to treat a customer this way. I will not be shopping at this location anymore. And if I didnt love the books that I bought I would return them and take my Hundred $30 elsewhere.
Kind of a tawdry reminder of Barnes and Noble but if you like books and magazines, it still serves a purpose, especially in a small town.
Had a very nice time. This location isnt as large as the one Im used to (in Fredericksburg, VA), but the store is clean, well kept up, and the staff is very friendly. Katharine in the cafe was very nice. Even helped ring us up when the main register was backed up. Over all... Im very satisfied, and Ill be happy to go back again.
The staff here are very helpful and in good spirits. The selection is wonderful. The store is clean and has a great little knick knack section as well. You can find awesome deals on children’s books which is an added bonus!
Great service at the coffee counter. Educator discount counts at the coffee counter too. Winchester location is better than the Martinsburg location. Books are great too. They let me take my boys there at the tables to have our lunch that we brought in in a bag. They are very friendly. Great hang out place.
Friendly staff and helpful staff
Good selection of books. I was pleasantly surprised.
Clean place, good prices.
Obviously, they carry books on every subject and novels from the most popular authors to the least known and never heard of. They have other items to purchase as well such as magazines, stationary, novelty items, cards, calenders, planners, and more.
Kind of dumpy. The kids books were fairly unorganized (made browsing quite lengthy). The guy at the register was nice enough. Slow coffee guy as well, it tasty nonetheless.
My favorite local bookstore around! Great books! Good service. Comfort atmosphere. A great place for some quiet, meet new people, and chat with friends or family. Also the little cafe Joe Muggs is also really good. Great coffee and bakery type sweets. Good prices. & Since Borders went out of business this is the only other local bookstore or place that Ive found that sells chocolate covered sunflower seeds.
BEWARE!! Charged a young family member for a magazine subscription. Started receiving charges on the card used to purchase a book at the store. Did not give permission for this. Told one thing by the associates but Books A Million did something completely different. When calling about the concern I have with their process, store manager was quite sarcastic. Stated she is unable to forward my concerns as she does not have a supervisor. Will not shop here again.
Decent bookstore. Has a great selection of books of all types. The only thing is that everything seems expensive. So if youre shopping on a budget you may want to search for books elsewhere.
Books... What more can you say? The staff is super friendly. Didnt hit Joes but every time, food has been great. Go and spend an afternoon, you wont regret it!!!
Plenty of books to choose from. Finished Dean Kontz in two days. Will be returning for a new book to read.
My wife and I go here all the time. We love just walking around and seeing all the great selection of books. They even have great selection of test prep books, even like the nerdy computer stuff that I enjoy. They also have the best coffee shop in town
A good chain book store with helpful people. Even though it took four of us to find the book I wanted in a store wide scavenger hunt, they did have it, and it is obscure so, hey, that was great.
Its okay, nothing special. It works as a book store. The prices cant compare to amazon though. I also really miss Waldenbooks when it was in the mall, and Borders. I much preferred the cozy atmosphere over the warehouse feel of bam. But it works for what it is
My kids and I love this bookstore! Good selection of kids books and D&D materials.
I went in last year to buy music, and the cashier charged me for a membership against my instructions. I had to ask for a supervisor to get the transaction reversed. Turns out it was set for automatic renewal. Now I have to get back the money they took and contact my bank to make sure it cant happen again. If you are forced to use them, I recommend cash.
Not a very good store to find books. Very disorganized. I went there today looking for American Civil War books and the selves were so disorganized and filled with many other topic books mingled in amongst the civil war books. They need employees that know history. Do they even teach history anymore?
Amazing selection, open till 10, and the girls are so helpful and will look up as many subjects or books and even vague ideas as you want. Its my new favorite place :-)
It is always a welcome sight to visit this bookstore when I am in the area. Can spend hours browsing the very large selection. The in-store coffee shop is wonderful as well !
Book selection is generally good but customer service is generally poor to fair. They should have books on Patsy Cline as she is from Winchester.
I always enjoy going there. Books that would seem expensive are actually reasonable pricing. I always find more books than I wanted haha
I always go here just to relax and pick up a good book.
Lots of cool items...but no I dont want to donate a book, no I dont have a club card or want to sign up for one and no I dont want free magazine subscriptions. Just let me buy my coffee and book and be on my way!
