With convenient location in the Winona city — Wish they were open a bit longer hours. Doing outstanding job without pretending or being snobby — Just GREAT JOB every time.Thank you all crew for the superb service, repair, and/or professional advice. As well, personally, thank you for your patience.
Well, last Friday after work, Im ready to leave and my car started a little hard, so I turned it off to start it again and Nothing! It was dead! I called my go to Guys in Winona and thankfully Jeff ( owner) answered! I explained my situation to him and he told me they closed at 5:30 now BUT, he would be coming with a battery and service my car on location!! How nice is that??? He was there in a few minutes, replaced my battery and I was good to go!! Im So Very Thankful for Jeff and the incredible service I received from him!! Gordies has kind and very knowledgeable people working there and they have Always had that reputation because they care about people!! THANKS AGAIN JEFF! 🤗
Gordies is my local go to for gas and repairs. They are always up front about any issues. Great staff. Always have your best interests in mind.
Great bunch of guys that work here and very friendly and polite. But theres no tire rotation again.. Ill leave it as that.
Gordies, Took less than 1 hour to change out two tires, plus they have a great staff as well. No Issues. Plus Gordies is the only gas station in town with 93 octane Gas.
My tires would not hold air. Nobody else could fix them. Gordies identified the problem for me as they were putting air in the tires. They fixed them and not a problem since! A very reasonable oil change too! They treated me great and I trusted them. It was my first time there, but not my last! I wont be trusting my car to anybody else!
Beautiful place, friendly service with uptime results.
Driver was kind and helpful! Mos Def a fan and would suggest to anyone but an enemy.
My new go-to for auto repairs! Honest, fast, and excellent service.
Very fast jump start and we drove to Gordies to get a replacement battery after. They installed it superfast. Very friendly, polite and great service! Thank you!
They patched my tire when two other places in town said I needed a replacement. Saving me hundreds. Super friendly and honest. Won’t go anywhere else in town from now on!
We have always received excellent service from everyone at Gordies. A great heritage of stellar customer care.
Fast and friendly service.
The staff is courteous and the technicians are knowledgeable and prompt. Theyre willing to answer your questions. Its also very convenient that Gordies is open on the weekends. I will be bringing all of my repairs to them.
They do great work at a fair price.
They just helped my mom with her trailblazer tailgate. . no charge . . thats AMAZING!! We will be taking our vehicles there from now on. . they truly are an AWESOME garage and station here to serve and help the community .. If I could give them 1000 stars I would..
My daughter brought her car in to be fixed a month or two ago. They charged her for work but didnt fix belts that had obvious issues that were part of why she brought it to them in the first place. I feel they took advantage of a young college student. Will be passing around our displeasure and their poor service.
We live down the street from Gordies and have been bringing our vehicles there for more than 15 years. The place is clean, the staff courteous and thoughtful, and the work is consistently very good. They know when to hand off to a dealer. On more than one occasion, theyve told us when they thought work didnt need to be done, or could be deferred. Im told there are less expensive places to go in town, but frankly Gordies is so consistently reliable, I wouldnt want to take a chance elsewhere.
My daughter is a college student at Winona and was having issues with oil leaking, I was not sure where she should go and after reading revues we chose Gordies. I am so happy we did, they called when they said they would and kept us informed of what they were doing since they knew that we would be paying for our college student. The prices were fair and I felt like I could trust them which is a rarity nowadays. I would definitely recommend Gordies.
Professional service, good value.
Very expensive. 600 dollars to replace a starter. 1400 dollars for rear wheel bearings and brakes
Jeff at Gordies is very helpful and has wonderful customer service. He worked late to transfer my vehicle a significant distance. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I would like to thank Gordies for taking care of my little girl while shes there at college. She needed a radiator put in and they were able to install it within 2 hours. Most mechanics are closed by 5 or 6pm. They stay open til 10pm. Thanks for your prompt service and reasonable rates.
I watched from a distance as my daughterNavigated her way through service.Completely straight forward about everything.Even paid for mistake the parts house made.Because it was an inconvenience to her.Vehicle works again. Fair price, correct diagnosis, constant communication.Done.
Switching to a 1 star 🌟 review. A month ago I had some stuff done and a month later my dash is out to replace blower motor resister. Come to find out they never replaced my cabin filter. Definitely lost a customer and good thing it was checked.
Overpriced and rude. Definitely take advantage of college students $$. Go to fleet farm instead!
GREAT EXPERIENCE! I called while at Walmart and my car was all messed up. I took it there. They got me in right away. They were very nice they gave me an estimate right away which was very fair in price!I am so happy.THANK YOU!!!
Nice staff. I came in because I needed power steering fluid and they helped me with that and only charged me for what they used. Very nice.
Replaced a burned out blinker bulb in just a few minutes...no waiting!!
It should be pointed out that my experience with Gordies has been mixed. I received fair prices on an ignition switch I had installed and a timing belt. But my latest experience was an all out attempt to gouge me. After not being able to diagnose a misfire, they recommended a basic tune up with plugs and new plug wires. How much? $480. Interesting. How much for the plug wires?, I asked. $175. What! So I paid the $84 diagnostic bill and went else where. There I received a call from the mechanic, your plug wires are in excellent condition. They changed the spark plugs and charged me $185 for diagnostic/parts/labor. Saved $211 by just saying no to Gougies. BTW - I found premium plug wires online for $87. Nothing like a 50% mark up on parts Gordie (if thats your real name).
I have gone to Gordies multiple times now, and the staff have always been helpful, honest, and approachable when talking to me and when working on my vehicle. I appreciate that the staff answer questions in a way that is easy for me to understand, since my mechanical knowledge is limited.
Great, reliable service every time! Have taken my car there numerous times and have always been able to get it looked at right away. I appreciate how they call me to let me know what the problem is and what it will cost before they do any work. Staff is very friendly and have helped me out many times when I was in a jam.
I had an awesome experience at Gordies. The staff and manager were all very friendly and they took the time to find affordable brand name tires. They compared other prices for me too so I knew that I was getting a good deal. It didnt take long for the tires to get put on even though they were relatively busy. A member of the staff also let a college kid with his moped borrow some tools quick for a minor repair and helped him fix it without charging him at all. I would recommend this repair shop if you are in Winona.
A few weeks ago a friend and I went on our way to WI from Rochester and her car started acting up. We were able to get the car towed here since they were the only ones open that also worked on hybrids. She made it exceptionally clear to not fix anything before she received a phone call explaining what the problem was. However, they called and told her that the fixes would close $500 plus and she told them to wait to fix anything. However they ended up fixing $140 worth of damages and are being extremely rude about the pick up process. After reading multiple reviews of how they take advantage of people for their money we arent surprised at all that there is a charge. The guy who was working on the car is on vacation and isnt answering any questions as to where the $140 is coming from. Im not at all impressed with their service or honesty. Wouldnt recommended this place to anyone. Very disappointed.
Every one here treats you like family.Best prices in town for gas, and also for repairs on your cars
Very friendly staff clean shop reasonable prices fast service
We love Gordies! They get us in and always have an answer and helpful fix or advice.
Quick and friendly service at a good price.
Super helpful, friendly, and reasonably priced. If I get my car stuck again theyll be the first ones Ill call
Had a screw in my tire. I received prompt attention. Fixed in 5 minutes. Friendly people.
VERY EXPENSIVE! I work across the street, and my car would not start after work on one of these cold days. I prefer to work with small businesses and wanted my car checked so it was towed across the street to Gordies. I understand minimum tow fees so I expected the 64.00 tow charge. The 94.00 labor charge for diagnostic and cleaning air flow sensor and throttle body is ridiculous. It would have been cheaper to tow my car out of town and pay 25 diagnostic to let it heat up and get it running. Please do your research. Rushford, Lewiston, and La Crescent all have fantastic auto shops with fair prices. I paid my bill with no complaints, but want everyone else to do more research than I did.
Got me in right away, car fixed, happy camper.
Fast and courteous service with far prices
Very quick and to the point! Instantly answered my call, in & out within 5 minutes. They also helped me add brake fluid to my car!
Very good experience this morning. Got us in right away and fixed up. Also gave a ride to the jobsite and picked us up when it was complete. Thank you!
Great service and price for having my air fixed this morning.love going there
Great place! Finished the work on my vehicle in a timely manner and the price was very fair!
Great place, friendly
I went into Gordies with an engine light on,they were able to fix it right away.I needed an alternator. They are always very courteous& quick.Very nice people.I will tell all my family and friends
Great young men that know what they are talking about.
Pretty overpriced, no choice of part you want used, high mark ups on items ($97 for a brake pad). Dont recommend as they appear to take advantage of college students. Just go to Fleet Farm.
A nice location if you need stuff done with your car
AVOID- Wouldnt take a $500 scrap car with no wheels to here, they would find a way to break it. In 2012 on New Years eve I had a flat on I 90 and Gordies was the only place open for obvious reasons, they needed the income. I got towed in, they slapped an over priced mastercraft tire on and off I went with no other options but to sleep over in Winona for the weekend. No less than reaching La Crosse did I have the new tire flat for the second time in one day. I got towed to another tire shop who identified the problem as a reused valve stem on the new tire. The garage put on a reliable tire for half the cost. This isnt the first review of this happening that I have read here from this make shift garage. The owner when asked to refund the price just wanted to cover the cost of the cheaper tire replacement from the other shop. Give me a break, I was born at night but not last night. AVOID TILL THE END OF TIME
2/9/19 I had a mishap with my wheel hub going out.... took 45 minute driving from goodview I think it was to their shop going 5 miles an hour on the shoulder/back roads... it was pretty busy there, one of their staff members was battling the flu, but they made it happen with others sticking around to make it happen, had the part and got me able to get home to the family. The staff was top notch. Great shop if you ever get stuck in that area. My cadillac dealer that does all my truck work gave the thumbs up too since I had to head to Florida the following weekend (inspection) Price was close to the same but they didnt toss garbage parts into the truck like most repair shops.
Excellent and fast service. Fixed my flat tire in 20 minutes.
Went above and beyond service repair. Customer service top notch, sunday afternoon, went to my daughters house jumped the car, drove it to the shop, fixed it, and brought it back to her as shes on crutches. And didnt cost an arm and a leg! THANK YOU Adam, you rock!!
They very quickly patched my tire when everyone else in town told me no. Excellent service and I was able to charge my phone while I waited. Thank you!
Came in because my check engine light was flashing, they diagnosed it (for $98!!) and said it was due to multiple cylinders misfiring and would need to replace all the ignition coils and spark plugs and it would cost $1061! Because the parts are so expensive. But a mechanic I know and trust bought the parts himself for less than $300 (6 spark plugs and 6 ignition coils)! The guy I bought the car from, my army mechanic friend, and the store the parts were bought from, everyone, told me I was being TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF because I am a college student and a female who looks like she doesnt know anything about cars. Apparently this is a common occurrence. How dare they!! STAY AWAY
One of the only places Ill go for auto repairs. Great service and awesome mechanics.
Excellent service by caring, professional personnel. I know I can rely on their expertise to keep my car in good running order.
Adrian helped me out with a flat tire I was in and out in 10 min great job thanks alot.
I went in after having a shock break through the mount. They charged me 50 for the diagnostic (which i could have went to Joes auto had a 25 dollar oil change with inspection) and wanted $1000 to replace with used parts. Went home and changed myself for 250 new
Great service honest people, quoted a minimum price & they cut that in half by the time I picked it up. Very Friendly & helpful
Go there ever time for an oil change. Best place in town.
They have the highest octane gas in town and the best for motorcycles.
Stuff and manager are very unprofessional. A battery was stolen their story from my car and they called me to ask if I took it out, very funny isnt? I had to pay for it sadly when my car was actually parked in their property for a week so Im guessing its their responsibility. they would look for anything to overcharge you specially if you a college student. I will never recommend this place to anyone!
Very helpful, very nice!
Bought 4 new tires from Gordies about a year ago. After everything it cost about $500. I ended up Driving 33 miles on the new tires (The mileage on my car was listed in the receipt) before I got a flat on a the highway. I called Gordies told them I had just gotten new tires and now got a flat. They came out put the donut on for me (which was very nice) and told me they would order a new tire for me to come the next day. I took my car in the following day and got slapped with another bill.New tire, Service charge of $60 to come put the donut on, and parts and service. Grand total of about $200.I couldnt believe it.I asked why they thought the tire went flat since there were no puncture marks in the tire. They claimed I could have hit a curb, and that they would not pay for the new tire.I knew I hadnt hit anything. but what can I do? I pay them and get on my way.1 Month later I leave work and 2 more tires are flat. I am LIVID at this point. I taxi my way home and call them the next day. They ask me to bring them the car and they will look at it. (2 flats how am I supposed to get it over to them?)Long story short I get the car over there and they look at it. They tell me the seal was lost on the tires. (clearly)So now they put the tires back on after cleaning the rims and I am back on my way. No Charge (Thank god). The original flat tire keeps getting very low, so I need to have it checked.I take my car back to the cities and have my local Sams Club look at all my tires, because I no longer trust Gordies. Turns out my Rim from the first flat on the highway, had a small crack from driving on it, and Sams Club would not legally be able to put the rim back on, but they gave me the rim back with the tire on it, and I would just have to put it on myself if I wanted. GREAT. THANKS GORDIES FOR TELLING ME.Now I am already a poor college kid so I just put the rim back on and kept filling the tire with air when needed.Well one day the tire goes flat while Im in a construction zone. (all gravel) Wrecks the tire.Sams Club new rim and tire: $400.Brings me to today. A YEAR LATER, and I just got another Flat while Driving. Overall going through Gordies had cost me $1100 and counting.tl:dr:DO NOT USE THEM: They refuse to accept fault for anything and their handling of my situation was less than stellar to say the least. I got my tires from Gordies a year ago and am still paying for it today.BOLD STATEMENT: Gordies takes advantage of college kids and their lack of knowledge of cars.
Worst car repair shop I have ever been too. I was in a pinch and didnt have the option to take it any where but Gordies. The mechanics there were both rude and clueless. They somehow managed to break my dipstick in half and let half of it just fall into the engine. Said and done I wouldnt recommend this place to ANYONE! I would let an army of blind first graders fix my car before I would ever even think about pulling into that place.
Best service and honest
Great repair shop!! Honest and trustworthy!
Always friendly and professional
Quick and friendly service
Great guys to work with
They helped me put new plates on my car when I couldnt get the old screws out. No charge and super nice!
Great people
To sum up, we drove to go there and we called a towing to leave... Never go there!
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!!!!! The worst repairshop in town. Youll be burned! Unprofessional, greedy.
Way overprice and the worst service
Good place
Great services
Helped us out on a weekend.
Thanks.
Great service
Fast& friendly
