Friendly service from old-school knowledgeable mechanics. Gave me a good price on repairs and discouraged me from pursuing pointless repairs.

My wife and I have both taken our vehicles here since Ron bought and opened this business over 15 years ago. We have never experienced anything but the highest level of courtesy, honesty and knowledgeable repair. Period. That’s why we still bring our cars to Woodway Automotive, even though we now live an hour and half away. There have been many times that Ron has discouraged me from getting unnecessary repairs, even when he could profit from doing those repairs. I *highly* recommend Woodway Automotive.

At around 3:30 on 11/13/19, I got off work and noticed my blinker on my 2012 Hyundai Elantra was out. I got the bulb I needed from OReilly in Hewitt and immediately looked up close mechanic shops. This shop popped up and it had really good reviews, so I decided to go there. I pulled in, went inside, and was greeted by a man telling me they were about to close and asking what I needed. I explained my situation, and that I needed it done soon, as I didnt want to get pulled over. He said hed take a look, but he wasnt sure. When he looked at my car, he didnt even pop the hood, but just said, No, this will take a significant amount of time. Wed need to take the front bumper off and it would take too much time. We may be able to get you in tomorrow though. I thanked him for his time and said I may be in tomorrow. At this time, Im upset because I didnt think it would be that expensive, but I didnt know enough about my car to argue that.I went to the Greg May Hyundai where they told me they could definitely do it. They fixed it, didnt charge me, taught me how to change it later on, and assured me that whoever told me it was a big deal was lying to me.Im beyond disappointed in the service and Im shocked that someone would outright lie to a potential customer. I will NEVER come here again and would advise everyone else to research their problems and know what needs to be done before coming here. Theyve already proven to me that they are liars.

Carl and Ron are great! They are fast, reliable, trustworthy and very courteous. I never have to worry about any unnecessary repairs being done. Anytime I need work, I always take my vehicles here. If you cant make it before they close, they will work with you take sure you can get your vehicle after hours.I highly recommend Woodway Automotive!

While my father has had only good things to say about this place, my experience was quite different. Is it because im a chick? I dont know, I just know the atmosphere when my father was with me was always considerably different. The last straw was when they refused to give me a serial number for a part, I wanted to go to the infinitely better Midway Auto to get it fixed under warranty. But this place refused, saying it was warrantied under them alone. Theoretically, there was no way to know if I was given an old part to begin with. They replaced the part under warranty, but they let me drive from the lot with absolutely zero power steering (with full steering fluid). The next day, Midway Auto confirmed either a bad part or a botched installation. The younger guy was defensive, even as he went to recheck the car out. My father pulled up, and the attitude was tangibly different. Way less stand-offish, deferring even. Still, he got the car running and tried to show us the apparently temporarily-absent power steering issue (though it looked to me he was just a stronger dude making it look trivial). Sure enough, though, after a test drive, he drove it back into the garage to reluctantly take another look (essentially being like well maybe this adjacent thing was also damaged and is what is the issue). As far as I know the older guy is chill, the younger man had me feeling like my mere presence was insulting. After he fixed whatever the mistake was, he refused to cop to anything and even complained about how itll come out of their pocket. They have regulars who obviously have good experiences here. They have plenty of business. But not ours.Go to Midway. They are GOOD people, and even take the time you explain whats going on with your car. They are more than fair, genuine, and great at what they do.
